Time for another exciting chapter of this fanfic!

Our heroes will be exploring more of the Woohoo Hooniversity. But you might remember the layout from Superstar Saga.

And our heroes will fight Hargon.

You think I should feature a World 9 arc by any chance?

I figured it might be fun.

I figured it might feature some of the final bosses in Dragon Quest…aside from the Dragonlord himself, of course.

Have I already had this conversation?

Chapter 29: For Hargon Conclusion

The Mighty Cannonship

As the name implied, there were cannons our heroes needed to watch out for.

One of them hit Wario in the face.

"Ow!" exclaimed the plumber.

Luckily, the cannons could be destroyed.

On the ship were Dragon Riders.

It seemed they had taken inspiration from the Dragonlord himself. Though technically the Dragonlord transformed into a dragon.

"For Hargon!" exclaimed one of the riders.

The riders flew towards our heroes.

"I've seen knights riding slimes…but knights riding dragons is new." noted Jessica.

This made for an efficient attack combination, as the knight and dragon could attack together with their blade and their fire breath.

And yes, they could attack twice per turn. Things were getting harder.

One of them hit Jessica with scalding gas.

"Ouch!" exclaimed the sorceress. Luckily, she didn't take too much damage,

But they were susceptible to wind, and Peach had learned wind magic from Angelo.

She made sure to thank him for it.

There were also Spiked Hares.

Why these Bunicorns were purple were anyone's guess. But purple was a sign of power. And they were definitely stronger than normal Bunicorns.

"I'm not afraid of bunnies!" exclaimed Wario. You were going to have to do better than that if you wanted to scare him.

"You should keep in mind that these bunnies can psyche themselves up." warned Jessica.

One of them was doing just that.

And there were Orc Kings.

Apparently even orcs could become royalty. Though it's on the fence as to how they did become royalty.

These orcs were decidedly stronger than their normal counterparts. They happened to know some spells. And like the Wight Knight, they could use Multithrust.

Also, for some reason, their fur was blue.

Some Rhinoceraxes were also onboard the airship.

They could attack twice per turn.

"Should we be fighting them? Rhinos are an endangered species!" pointed out Peach. She wanted to protect the environment.

"Don't worry, we aren't endangered in Dragon Quest." assured the Rhinoceraxe.

Peach sighed in relief.

This made her feel better.

She kicked a Rhinoceraxe with her legs.

He swung his axe at her, but she blocked it with her parasol.

"You're pretty tough for a princess!" exclaimed the Rhinoceraxe. Perhaps not all princesses were distressed damsels these days.

"Have you met Alena by any chance?" asked another Rhinoceraxe. He had heard stories about her.

Supposedly, she was fighting Bowser in the Beanbean Kingdom. Her courage was admirable.

Hargon was waiting for them in the captain's room.

"You sure have been causing the Dragonlord a lot of trouble, haven't you?" asked Hargon.

"We've defeated four of his generals, so yes." noted Jessica.

"I'm going to stop you here and now!" exclaimed the enforcer of the Dragonlord.

"I hope you aren't planning to summon Malroth." spoke the sorceress.

"His evil highness said that if I did that, I would destroy the world he was trying to rule. So I won't be doing that." spoke Hargon.

Though he did admit that brought back some memories.

Jessica sighed in relief.

"Now then, where were we?" asked Hargon.

He readied his staff.

Jessica fired a Frizzle at him.

But he dodged it.

"You'll have to do better than that!" shouted Hargon.

He decided to summon a Drakularge.

The Drakularge let out a roar.

He proceeded to sit on Wario.

"Mamamia!" exclaimed the plumber in yellow.

This was not a pleasant experience.

And there was a noticeable lack of air.

"We should get him off our friend." noted Jessica. This couldn't be a pleasant experience for him.

Peach and Angelo attempted to push the Drakularge off.

They succeeded.

However, the Drakularge prepared to breathe fire on them.

"I'm having a barbecue!" exclaimed the big yellow dragon.

Wario punched him before he could so, however.

Peach then took him down with a kick.

"The princess defeated the dragon? That's not how the fairy tale usually goes." noted the Drakularge.

Jessica struck Hargon with her whip.

"Ow! You'll pay for that! I'm one of the Dragonlord's foremost servants!" exclaimed Hargon.

He used Sweet Breath on them. It wasn't unlike that the Funghouls used.

"Who would have thought that he would have such nice-smelling breath?" questioned Peach. She was under the impression it would smell bad.

But life was full of surprises.

Angelo fell asleep.

"Angelo! Wake up!" exclaimed Jessica.

"Huh?" asked Angelo.

He was dreaming about Abbot Francisco. What a shame Dhoulmagus (who turned out to be possessed by Rhapthorne) had killed him.

Hargon hit Angelo with Kazap.

For a moment his skeleton was visible.

"That really hurt!" exclaimed Angelo.

Hargon then fired a Frizzle of his own.

"Take this!" exclaimed the magician of evil.

Wario was hit.

"Ow!" shouted Wario. Now he had a burn on his nose.

"What's wrong? Can't take the heat?" taunted Hargon.

This made Wario angry.

He punched Hargon in retaliation.

And then bit him as well.

"Ow! How dare you!" exclaimed the magician.

In retaliation, he prepared to cast Kaboom.

"Uh-oh." spoke Jessica. This couldn't be good. She knew how strong that spell was.

There were Imps that tried to cast it, but luckily they didn't have enough MP.

Quickly, she prepared to defend.

Luckily, three of the four heroes successfully defended in time.

But Wario was not so lucky.

"Mamamia!" exclaimed the plumber. He was sent flying and fell on his face.

That was one big boom.

It reminded him of the time he experienced 100 Bob-Ombs going off at once in a tennis stadium.

It was lucky that he had survived that. He might be more durable than Mario but even his durability had limits.

Peach quickly cast Multiheal so that everyone could recover from the spell.

Wario then punched Hargon in the face.

"I've had enough of you!" exclaimed Hargon.

He prepared to cast Frizzle on Wario again.

But Peach hit him on the back of his head with a frying pan.

"Aaugh!" shouted Hargon.

She then punched him in the face.

The dark mage fell on his knees.

"What? How could I lose to you?!" exclaimed Hargon.

"We already have experience facing demon lords, thank you very much." answered Jessica.

Angelo nodded.

They had defeated Rhapthorne, after all.

Though he did admit he wasn't as high level as he was when he defeated the giant demon.

"This isn't over!" exclaimed Hargon.

He cast a spell, and suddenly the engine was damaged.

"Oh no!" shouted Peach.

The airship began to descend.

"Mayday! Mayday!" exclaimed the princess.

"Is this how it ends?" asked Jessica.

The airship crashed into Fliprus Lake…which was now known as Tuskateer Lake. Coincidentally, Dragon Quest also had a walrus-type enemy.

Luckily, nobody was hurt by the crash. Though it was a startling experience.

It looked like they would be going through that lake to get to World 5.

Hargon realized the heroes had made it.

"You've got to be kidding me…" noted the sorcerer.

Well, maybe the Dragonlord would give him another chance.

He prepared a Zoom spell.

Hargon returned to the Dragonlord in shame.

He was sure he could handle these heroes.

But then again, they had defeated foes such as the Antiquitree and Gracos.

The Dragonlord sat on his throne, which had a red carpet leading to it.

"You couldn't handle them, could you?" noted the Dragonlord.

Baramos chose to laugh at Hargon, pointing his finger at him.

"Please forgive me!" exclaimed Hargon. He was on his knees.

"Seeing as we've lost four generals to the heroes, I'm going to give you one more chance." spoke the lord of the dragons. He only had three generals left, so he wanted to make sure they were safe.

After that, he would let Baramos handle things.

He was hoping to fight the heroes directly, after all.

"Thank you, master!" exclaimed Hargon. He appreciated his forgiveness.

"I'm sure he'll succeed…in a hundred years!" shouted Baramos.

"Shut it!" bellowed Hargon. He was starting to think Baramos was obnoxious.

Why did the Dragonoord keep him around again? He heard that Baramos was a talented spellcaster, but he hadn't seen him in action.

"I sincerely hope you learn from your mistakes." noted the Dragonlord. He recognized that these heroes were a threat.

It would probably be best if they didn't show up on his doorstep. Even if he could transform into a giant dragon.

"I will!" shouted the minion.

He would make sure to hire more competent help this time around.

At the Woohoo Hooniversity…

Alena's team encountered Laser Snifits.

"I didn't know some Snifits had lasers." noted Alena.

It was an unusual sight.

But they had to be careful not to get zapped by them.

"Aren't lasers cool?" asked one of the Snifits.

There were also some Yo Bros.

"Yo!" exclaimed one of the bros.

It seemed some Koopas liked to play with yo-yos.

For some reason, they pulled out a yo-yo that matched the color of the person they were attacking.

It sure made things easier for them though.

Why did their enemies insist on telegraphing their attacks?

But perhaps they shouldn't question something that helped them.

Like the ? Blocks that littered the land, for instance. Those were filled with good stuff. Such as coins, for example.

And there were Mechakoopas.

Apparently, Koopas liked to play with toys and not just yo-yos.

"What kind of toy breathes fire?" asked Ashlynn.

"Not one I would want to play with!" exclaimed Ruff. He knew better than to play fire. Especially when he had encountered dragons.

Ashlynn nodded.

There were also Mecha-Chomps, which for some strange reason had not appeared in Bowser's Minions.

Perhaps they thought the audience would prefer Mechakoopas over them.

If they were hit, they sometimes malfunctioned.

This changed their attack patterns somewhat.

Alena pressed a ! block. Something told her that was important. Otherwise, why would it have an exclamation point on it.

A light appeared and made its way across the hooniversity.

A nearby metal door opened.

"Perhaps in order to get to Iggy we need to press some ! blocks and use the lights to open the path." noted Alena.

The fact that the Bowser Baddies seemed to be guarding the ! blocks supported that theory.

"Sounds like a plan." nodded Ashlynn.

Meanwhile, Iggy encountered Bowser Jr.

"Bowser Jr?" asked Iggy. Was he here to learn? He was rather young, after all.

But he got the feeling he was here for something else.

"Bowser sent me to make sure that the heroes don't cause any more trouble." noted the small Koopa.

They had really been getting on Dad's nerves. He heard that they had thwarted Morton's plan to invade Beanbean Castle Town.

About an hour earlier…

"You rang, dad?" asked Bowser Jr.

"Greetings, junior. There's this group of heroes who are interfering with my plan to take over the Beanbean Kingdom." explained Bowser.

'Are they being led by Mario?" questioned the son of the Koopa King. He had been fighting against Bowser for years. And there was no sign of their conflict ending. Otherwise there might not be any other Mario games.

"Surprisingly, no. I wonder why he hasn't shown up to try to stop me yet. But why question something that I like?" answered the leader of the Koopas.

"Who's leading them then?" wondered Bowser Jr.

'They're being led by a princess...one that dresses in yellow." noted Bowser.

"Daisy?" asked Bowser Jr. For some reason Bowser never seemed to kidnap her. Though he also hadn't tried kidnapping Rosalina either.

"Actually, no. Though I can tell there's a resemblance." clarified the Koopa King. How many princesses were there that looked like Daisy, anyway?

"You want me to straighten her out, dad?" questioned the heir to the throne.

"Anything that will put an end to her rebellion is welcome." said Bowser.

He wasn't sure how many Koopas had fallen to the princess and her gang of friends.

But he was going to put an end to their rebellion once and for all.

'You got it, dad!" exclaimed Bowser Jr.

He was going to make Dad proud.

Though he did admit that he wasn't having much luck with his archenemy Mario.

Back to the present…

"I heard the basement of the Woohoo Hooniversity was frozen." noted Bowser Jr.

"What happened to it?" asked Iggy. It reminded him of Joke's End.

"I dunno." answered the young Koopa.

He decided he would wait for the heroes there in case Iggy failed.

He figured playing with the snow would be fun.

Iggy himself would wait in the auditorium.

He would like to see the heroes make it to him. He had mechanical Chain Chomps.

At World 5...

Donkey Kong was currently relaxing in his cabin.

He was sleeping in a hammock, to be precise.

Things were peaceful in the Soda Jungle.

He was glad that he decided to pay this particular jungle a visit.

That way he could have soda to go with his bananas.

But with the Dragonlord around, peace did not last for long. His minions were all over the place.

DK stretched out his arms as he woke up from his slumber. He had had a peaceful dream. A dream where he was eating a lot of bananas. Luckily, Cranky Kong did not show up to spank his heinie as he did in his nightmares.

Suddenly, he noticed the Dragonlord's minions making off with his precious fruit. The Banana Hoard, to be precise.

He gasped in shock.

It seemed that the Dragonlord's minions had decided to rob him, just as they had robbed Wario. Though for whatever reason they had decided on fruit instead of money.

How many groups had tried to steal his bananas, anyway? First there was the Kremling Krew and then were the Tiki Tak Tribe…

…perhaps he needed to defend those bananas a bit better.

A Gorerilla laughed as he ate one of the bananas.

"Who would have thought bananas would be so valuable?" questioned a Rhinoceraxe. These bananas were golden.

This made DK angry.

He decided it would make it his mission to get the bananas back.

Maybe he would invite Diddy Kong to join the party as well. He too loved bananas.

But then again, Diddy Kong hadn't been in quite as many video games as he had. In the arcades Donkey Kong Jr. appeared instead.

Why was Mario the bad guy in Donkey Kong 2, anyway? It didn't make a whole lot of sense. It wasn't like Mario at all.

Though DK did admit there were video games in which he was the bad guy himself. He was usually the good guy though.

"It was so nice of that gorilla to leave those bananas lying around for us!" remarked a Batmandrill.

"I'll say!" exclaimed a Half Hog.

Little did they know that same gorilla had found about the theft.

Our heroes defeated Hargon!

But they'll be seeing him again.

He is playing the role of Bowser Jr. after all.

Though I suppose Bowser Jr. himself is now in this fanfic. And Bowser has made his first appearance as well, incidentally.

I figured he could face off against Alena and her friends.

He was in Paper Jam, after all.

He was also in Dream Team, though that was as a bonus boss.

I wonder if I should feature Rosalina. And when.

And yes, I'm featuring Donkey Kong. He was in the Super Mario Bros. movie, after all. So why not?
