Disclaimer: I don't know Victorious, we all know who the series belongs to Nickelodeon, but if I did own the series, the show would have gotten a proper series finale and Jori would be canon.
Author Notes: Sigh… I give up, I try and try to move on from this series but new plot bunnies come up at the most unexpected of times, go figure, anyway today is December 5th, now you may wonder what's so important about this date? Turns out and I recently learned this, this day across Germany they celebrate the holiday Krampusnacht or "Krampus Night", which Jade will explain bellow, if you all recall on my Christmas chapter, it was revealed that when Jade was a little girl, she always tried to stay up all night to catch Krampus rather than Santa, so you can all consider this as a sequel to that storyline.
When Jade suggested taking a trip to Europe, Tori couldn't help but jump in on the idea right away as they now had the money and time to take a vacation just the two of them, They never had the chance to travel abroad while growing up (they vehemently didn't count the disastrous trip to Yerba) and so far they been to the United Kingdom, Spain and France to name a few places.
Currently the married couple were in Germany, sightseeing the State of Bavaria to be more precise, taking in the wonders that the city of Munich had to offer.
"Uh… Jade?"
"Yeah, Vega?"
"Did we somehow time travel back to Halloween?" Tori asked confused. "Or am I still sleeping from the trip here and about to have a nightmare?"
The Thespian pinched her wife's ass, this of course made the Latina yelled out in pain, giving her spouse the evil eye as she massaged her butt.
"JADE!" Tori bellowed "You know I hate when you do that!"
"I just thought pinching you would be the best way to prove that you're awake." Jade snickered evilly. "Besides, pain seems appropriate, we're just in time to join in the celebration after all."
"Celebration?"
"Is there an echo here?" The Thespian mocked. "YES! Celebration! Now shut up and follow me Vega!"
Without another word, Jade grabbed Tori's hand, the Latina didn't have time to react as her wife dragged her towards the ever growing crowd who were watching a parade of sorts.
"What the…?" Tori blinked several times. "Baby, was is going on here?"
Jade however didn't respond, she instead saw several men dressed as a demonic figure walking on the streets, making several noises resembling a mixture of howls and snarls at young children and adults alike, one particular disturbing looking demon made its way towards a little boy, almost as it was watching it with curiosity but obviously couldn't tell because of the wooden mask.
Instead of being terrified however, the small child said "Ich war gut" in German, this made the disguised man take a step back but not before showing him his bundles of 'ruten'.
"Du weißt, was mit ungezogenen Kindern passiert." The 'demon' said ominously before walking away to scare other people, this of course made several children hide behind their parents for protection, the adults of course chuckled out of nostalgia.
Several other men dressed as the demon did similar things, scaring anyone who was in their sight, Tori couldn't understand what was going on but the fact that Jade had a smile so big that it could break her face in half, made it clear that she knew what was going on.
"Jade…. What the Hell is this?!"
"Krampusnacht, Vega." Her wife replied as if it was obvious. "Better known as Krampus night."
"Krampus what now?"
"Well you know how on Christmas little kids wait for Santa's arrival?"
"Yes…"
"Think of Krampus as the Anti-Santa." Jade explained "He's a goat like demon and according to folklore, on the evening of December 5, Krampus arrives to punish naughty children by giving the coal and whipping their butts with his birch rod."
"That's…. A bit excessive, don't you think?"
"Oh it gets worse Vega." Jade said wickedly "See, for the very naughty kids? Krampus has a different punishment in mind, see, when there are kids who can't be reformed, he simply puts them on his sack and takes them to his lair where he eats them."
"WHAT?!" Tori asked with wide eyes "Are you serious?!"
"That's according to the folklore, Vega." Jade shrugged. "There are others versions like some said that during the 16th century, Krampus took little kids straight to Hell for being ungrateful little bastards."
"That's even worse!" Tori said. "Why is the demon being celebrated then?!"
"Because Krampus scares children into behaving." Jade replied. "Back then he was used by parents as a way to keep them in line if they ever did something wrong, nowadays he symbolizes that the Christmas season can have a dark side and who doesn't love a bit of spookiness around this time of year?"
"Anyone who doesn't have a pretty demented mind?"
"Vega we long have established that I'm both, pretty and demented." Jade said with an eye roll. "Now don't be a buzzkill, I been wanting to see Krampus before my very eyes since I was a little girl!"
"Since you were a…?" Tori stopped mid sentence, the gears on her brain were going into overdrive as she recalled something her wife told her a year or so ago.
"I thought meeting the guy would have been cool and I could capture him and teach Krampus that no one was naughtier than me and he couldn't do squat about it!" Jade said proudly.
"You're kidding."
"I figured, hey, I'm already on the naughty list." She shrugged. "What's Santa going to do to me if I trap Krampus? Plus, imagine having captured the dark side of Christmas? How cool would that have been?"
"Only you would wait up to see a demon goat thing instead of Jolly ol' Saint Nick on Christmas night."
"What can I say?" Jade smiled evilly, sighing in nostalgia afterwards. "We all had our Christmas traditions, mine just happened to be less normal than most."
"I should have known that you had an ulterior motive for wanting to arrive on Germany before the 5th." Tori said in amusement as she crossed her arms. "Only you would be excited to see a demon goat thing instead of good old Santa Claus."
"Come on Vega, you can't blame me for wanting to be here." Jade said happily. "It's like meeting your childhood hero! I mean I like pain and Krampus provides that! What's not to love?!"
"Whatever you say Baby." Tori muttered as she turned around, only to be face to face with a very animalistic, masked Krampus, this of course took the Latina by surprise who yelled out in fear, instinctively she hides behind her wife for protection.
Jade of course laughed by what she just witnessed.
"Need me to scare big bad Krampus away, Vega?" She asked teasingly "Before he takes you and eats you."
"That's not funny Jade!"
"Don't worry you big baby." Jade snickered. "The only one here that gets to eat you is me."
Tori's face turned three different shades of red at what her spouse was implying.
"JADE!"
—
For the rest of the day, Jade and Tori saw everything else that Krampusnacht had to offer, while dressing up as Krampus was the main event, it wasn't the only thing they could see.
The married couple walked towards a tent and saw many different wooden masks of the aforementioned demon, they even saw a mask maker or "Mukhota" carve a new one from scratch, Tori had never seen Jade so enthralled, she even asked in broken German how much for one of the masks.
"Oh Hell No!"
Tori immediately put her foot down as she didn't want Jade to buy one of those horrifying things, after all, she wouldn't put it past her wife to use the Krampus mask to frighten her when she least expected.
But when Jade wants something she usually gets it, so when Tori wasn't looking, Jade gave the mask maker the mask and simply hid it beneath her coat.
"What Vega doesn't know won't hurt her." Jade thought. "After all, this is going to look perfect on the bathroom wall."
The thespian could already imagine her wife screaming terrified at the sight of the demon glaring at her as she planned to do her business.
"I'm so going to Hell for that one." Jade chuckled. "For sure."
Another thing they witnessed was Krampuskarten, which pretty much involved seeing a bunch of greeting cards that had Krampus on them.
"Aw, look Jade!" Tori gushed. "This one is cute!"
The Latina then showed her spouse a card with the demon as am adorable Cupid like creature with the words Gruß vom Krampus which thanks to a quick phone search they knew it meant "Greetings from Krampus", The Thespian however was unimpressed and groaned in disgust.
"Go figure people these days would try to ruin such a good thing." Jade grumbled. "I like this one better."
Tori was annoyed by what she saw.
"How did you managed to get a greeting card of Krampus with both our bloody heads on his hands?!"
"I know a guy." Jade smirked. "But of course if you don't like that one, we can get this one instead."
Tori saw a greeting card of the demon holding in his arms a very voluptuous woman.
"Somehow I doubt you want that card because Krampus is in it." The Latina said dryly. "And you're more interested on the woman in his arms."
"Wait… Krampus is in it?" Jade asked as she took a second look at the card. "Well I'll be dammed!"
"You suck Jade!"
Tori then stomped away angrily.
"Vega! Tori! Come back! I was just trying to get under you skin! I wasn't serious!" Jade said running after her angry spouse. "I'm so sleeping on the couch for this."
Later that night, after much convincing on Jade's part that she was just kidding around, Tori finally let her back in their hotel room, soon both women were ready to hit the hay.
"You had fun today, baby?"
"Aside from nearly being in the doghouse?" Jade grumbled from the bathroom "Yeah, although I wish you had taken a bit more part on the fun Vega, you didn't really seem that much into the festivities."
"Oh I wouldn't say that." Tori said mischievously, she suddenly open the bathroom door, next thing the former Goth knew, the hairy sight of Krampus invaded her personal space.
"BOO!"
"GAH!" Jade jumped surprised as she felled to the floor, next thing she heard was the playful giggles of her spouse, Tori took of the mask the Thespian has purchased.
"Jade… Jade… Jade…" Tori taunted. "I known you for a long time, did you really think I wasn't aware of your little friend here?"
She then tauntingly put the mask inches away from her wife's angry face.
"Look Jadey, I'm Krampus! Here to scare your pants off!"
"YOU'RE DEAD VEGA!"
Next thing Tori knew, she was being chased by someone scarier than the goat demon.
… Her vengeful wife.
"The night just became a lot more fun." Tori thought eagerly. "It's only a matter of time till Jade catches me… Sure hope Krampus doesn't come tonight, Jade's going to be very naughty to me."
Eh, probably not the best way to end it but honestly I didn't want the night to end on a bad not with Jade and Tori being mad at each other and instead went for the comical kind of ending.
What did you guys thought of this one, if anyone here knows more about Krampusnacht than I do, please let me know in case I made any mistakes here.
Fun fact: in the 19th century In some greeting cards, Krampus had some sexual overtones, which of course explains the card Jade showed Tori during their night out.
Also according to the translator I used, "Ich war gut" means "I was good" and "Du weißt, was mit ungezogenen Kindern passiert" means "You know what happens to naughty kids", I don't know German, so if I made any mistakes, my apologies.
Finally, what did you guys thought of this chapter? Good? Bad? Or in Between?
Constructive criticism is always appreciated.
Invader Johnny Signing Off.
