Surrounded on all sides, Megaman.EXE. was gazing at his enemies with a determined gaze. Buster at his side and ready to fire. Seven viruses surrounded him, each with a unique variety of shapes and forms, but still prepared to attack him.

The real question is, who will make the first move.

"Megaman here!" Shouted Lan as he lent some support equipment to his Navi.

Megaman unleashed the new equipment, all the viruses knew any chip could be a game changer, and so they fired a vicious array of weapons. Cannons, bombs, flame throwers and boomerangs.

A cloud of smoke filled the scene as Lan held his breath. For a moment it seemed as though his friend has been deleted. Data flowed out of the dust, seconds which seemed like an eternity, megaman's form became visible.

Heavily damaged the digital partner was barely holding on. His data was seething out of his body and flowing into the abyss of the undernet.

"Oh no megaman!" Screamed lan as he clutched his pet like a lifeline. The screen flickered as the viruses approached his friend. It was now or never he needed to make a decision.

"Jack out megaman!" He said, waiting until the screen flicker into white, he pulled the plug from his computer with such force that the entire system came crashing down.

But lan didn't care for the devices, or the shattered monitor. His concern was his best friend megaman who's pet failed to respond. Shaking it he called out to his partner fear clutching his very being.

"Lan..." A voice spoke stopping all the ruckus.

Megaman appeared, his body was still damaged but he seemed fine. Of course Lan would still need to grab a vaccine and run several anti virus programs on megaman, simple safety measures for a navy damaged from powerful viruses and all that.

The door to his bedroom opened and a sharp intake of breath stopped the routine check up. His mother who's face had a surprised look, slowly her eyes looked from the broken computer set, and to the cable loosely hanging from Lans pet.

"Lan...what in the world did you do!?" Screamed his now furious mother.

"Mom I can explain" started Lan, words that damned whatever argument he could cook in that instant.

Raising his arms he tried to calm her down with his defensive stance. "So megaman was looking for some viru- virtual program!" He said correcting his mistake in a terribly obvious attempt.

"A-and he ended up being ambushed by many viruses. He was almost deleted so I... Jack out and well..." Glancing at the terrible mess next to him he looked back at his mother her face red from the rising anger.

"Lan I don't care about your silly stories. Do you know how much a computer costs these days! Your father will have a migraine when he hears about this!" Shouted his mom.

Lan not seeing her point simply argued back "he can just borrow one from the office, they've got dozens of computers hanging around the lab"

"That's not the point!" Rebutted his mother.

"Then what's the big deal!?" Lan shouted back.

"Lan if you keep talking back to me you'll go one week without your pet!" Her threat made Lan stop.

Living without tv was doable, getting by without allowance was also doable, but living without a pet.

"Mom you can't be serious" asked Lan his voice barely above a whisper. His spirited attitude had dissipated as he didn't believe his mom's threat. Pet was his life without it he wouldn't have any friends.

"Im serious, hand it over" she said as she stepped towards him with her hand outstretched.

Looking at his pet Lan recalled all the good and bad things he's been with megaman. Giving his mother a blank stare the infamous Hikari mind worked behind that look.

"How about...NEVER!" Following the outburst Lan jumped over the broken mess and leaps out through his bedroom window, the last thing his mother heard were the words.

"Lan, Jack Out!"
