It was late at night in an ocean-side city where on the outskirts of the town was the Pacific Girls Home, an orphanage for girls and the sister building to Pacific Boys Home the orphanage for boys. It was here that one 12 year old girl named Anna Lafayette was finishing packing up her backpack since she was finally going to leave her only home in order to find her best friend Kex Bradley who had disappeared four weeks ago, and Anna had a feeling that he'd left his home to go off and see the world since Kex had always wanted to travel and since he was the same age as her, that meant they'd both have a harder time getting adopted since they were older than the other kids in both of the orphanages, so that meant that Anna and Kex wouldn't get adopted right away as adults usually wanted younger kids to take home with them. "I'll also take my Jurassic Park books with me." Anna thought as she put said books into her backpack, and with that, Anna was done stuffing her bag with all of her things which mainly consisted of her clothes, non-perishable food, a flashlight, Cd's, Cd player, her books, and finally her solar powered charger for her Cd player. "Time to go." Anna thought before taking a final look around her room, the younger girls were all fast asleep, which was good since it meant that the older girl could sneak out through the window without being caught.
Being careful not to wake up the director or the other girls, Anna climbed out onto the roof of the building then using her skateboard, she manged to safely scale down the roof, and with the help of the T-Rex shaped slide in the yard and the playhouse, Anna used that to fly over the wall of the orphanage, then skated into town while listing to her music to help pass the time as she stopped at the crosswalk in order to check for any cars that might've been coming her way, when she didn't see anything, Anna continued making her way down the street while skating past people who were out at night leaving work or doing whatever else adults who didn't have kids did late at night, but Anna couldn't careless about those people since her mission was to find her best friend, so as she made her way down to the docks, which housed the late night workers that were getting ready to set sail, Anna looked around for a boat that was heading to another country. "Pack it up! We've got two weeks until we reach Bora Bora!" One man shouted, that's when Anna remembered how Kex mentioned that the first place he'd go to was the beautiful French Island while on his tour to see the world. "Bora Bora, here I come!" Anna thought with a smile, she skated over to the crate that was being lifted onto the boat, grabbed the rope then snatched up her board so it wouldn't get left behind and once Anna was on the boat, she hid in a lifeboat since she didn't want to be caught by the sailors as they'd make her get off if they saw her stowing away on their ship, and within a few seconds, the ship started moving.
Anna peeked out from under the tarp that was covering the lifeboat to get one final look of her hometown as the ship sailed away from the port. "I'm coming Kex, wait for me." Anna thought with a soft smile, the gentle winds gave Anna confidence and hope that she would reach Bora Bora without any problems even though the ocean could be dangerous and unpredictable, Anna knew that everything would be alright once she was reunited with her best friend again. With that in mind, Anna put her Cd player away then got out her first Jurassic Park book since she felt like reading for a little while, so with the help of her flashlight Anna began reading her book as the waves of the ocean gently rocked the ship back and forth, and soon enough Anna, herself was fast asleep as the ship sailed on into the night, however the sailors noticed the sky was getting darker which meant that a storm was about to happen, but before any of them could say anything, a flash of lightning flashed across the sky and with a roar of thunder, Anna was startled awake before poking her head out from under the tarp. "Get the ropes! Pull'em tight!" The captain shouted, Anna watched as the sailors grabbed the ropes in order the save the cargo that was on board the ship, but then her attention was taken off the sailors when she heard a creek coming from the right side of the lifeboat she was on.
Anna turned to see that the ropes holding up the lifeboat to the side of the ship that she was on quickly came undone. "AHHHHHHH!" Anna screamed in fear, the boat had landed right into the water before coming back up to the surface again which made Anna peer out from under the tarp only to realize that the lifeboat was no longer attached to the ship that was sailing away from her. "HELP ME!" Anna shouted out, unfortunately for Anna, the roar of the storm made it so that no one on the ship could hear her cries for help as it got further and further away from her while wild waves from the ocean were pushing the lifeboat in the opposite direction from where the ship was heading to, feeling dejected and scared, Anna got back under the tarp in order to get out of the rain since she didn't want to get sick. "Please! Help me get to Kex!" Anna cried out, she put on her headphones then turned on her music to a song that would hopefully help her prayers be answered as all she could do now was pray for her safety while being out in the middle of ocean in a huge, rough, roaring storm while feeling scared for her very life at the moment.

After the song was done Anna turned off her Cd player in order to save the battery from dying, but she could still hear the storm roaring over her. "Please! Save me and take me to Kex!" Anna pleaded in her mind before feeling exhaustion take over her body, even though the waves went from gentle to rough, Anna felt tired as the boat was rocked back and forth which oddly enough began to sooth her worries as she started to fall back asleep once more. Throughout the night, the storm raged on until sometime in the early morning it stopped and the boat had crashed ashore onto an unknown island that no one had heard of before, only Anna wasn't aware of where she had landed just yet as she was still sound asleep even though she'd landed onto the beach of the mysterious island and was no longer under the tarp, while not knowing that the lifeboat was no longer in piece as it had been destroyed from the crash. "Kex." Anna muttered in her sleep, the young girl was unaware that she was now out in the open but could sense that she was somewhere safe even while sleeping, Anna still felt safe wherever she had ended up.
What Anna didn't realize was that she had just set off a chain of events with her arrival to the unknown island that would change her whole life forever as well as the lives of old and new friends that she would meet that very same day, but for now, Anna dreamed that she had finally been reunited with her best friend and that they would have so many grand adventures together as they explored the world around them just like they had promised back when they first became friends in the first grade, and in a way, Anna was right about having an adventure with Kex, but she would also get to know her future friends once she woke up. In just a few hours, Anna would make two new friends before making other new friends which would help her adjust to her soon-to-be new forever home.
