Now Welcome Summer

"It's summer solstice, you know." Haru said aloud as she sat down at the coffee table, a cup of iced coffee in hand.
"Oh, that's right. I thought summer started a while ago, since it's been pretty hot out," Sayaka replied as she wiped the sweat off her brow, thankful for the café's air conditioning. "Hard to tell now."
"Ugh, if it's one thing I don't care for at all for summer, it's the heat." Haru groused, and then took a sip of her beverage. "But at least we have things like a break from school," She added, her mood a bit brighter.
"And that we can sleep in."
"Oh, and we could go to the park sometime."
"Oh, yes, and the flowers would be in full bloom this time of year."
"And we have plans to go to beach," Sayaka smiled at her. "At least, that's what I was thinking we could do this weekend, to keep cool, and so on." She brushed a lock of stray hair from her face, and she locked eyes with her girlfriend across from her.
Haru blinked, then she nodded, smiling. "Go to the beach, with you? Always."
Sayaka smiled. "It's a date."
