Resplendence

"They say it's the longest day of the year today." Yuu remarked, as she started to wade through the pool, with Touko following behind.
"Really?"
"Yeah, at least that's what I've heard."
Touko waded through the waters, now swimming by Yuu's side. "I guess everyone will try to make the most of it, and do whatever, huh?""
Yuu stopped moving in the water, turning to face Touko. "Maybe, I don't know, not much to do in this heat."
Touko tilted her head, an amused smile on her face. "Well, we're here in the swimming pool, and keeping cool, aren't we? So that's something."
Yuu thought for a moment, and she nodded. "Hey, yeah, you're right. It's so freeing, being in the water."
Touko nodded, her smile growing. "It really is, and we have this whole spot to ourselves, so let's make the most of what we have left today."
Yuu blinked. "Alright, how?"
Touko moved closer to Yuu, so that there was little space between them. "By enjoying each other's company, how does that sound?"
Yuu felt her cheeks turn pink, but her eyes lit up and she nodded. "Sounds good to me."
Touko laughed, and then she leaned, kissing Yuu on the cheek.
Her warm lips were a sharp contrast to the cool waters, the sun glistening.
Yuu stilled, and she giggled as she kissed Touko full on the lips, with such a loving gesture returned oh so eagerly.
