~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~
This is a Trifold crossover of Harry Potter, Wakfu and an undisclosed third setting which will remain hidden for now.
You can probably guess from the title what this is gonna be, you have been warned by it.
I own none of these properties, only any OCs I may make over the course of this fanfiction.
Also, I have no idea how you get from Brittain to France by train, I'm German, live in Spain, and never even was in the UK. I know A BIT of what route the following chapter mentions, namely because I googled a route and this was one of the first train-only ones.
~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~
Ellizabeth Evergreen "Ellie" Potter was always seen by others as an "Odd One". She couldn't blame them, though they didn't know why.
When she was younger, she thought it was just what was under her hat, and she had hid it. Obviously her aunt and uncle hated anything out of the ordinary and despised it when she did anything unusual. Aside from the oddity of her head, there were numerous incidents where she would spontaneously seem to teleport to the roof of the school, usually to escape bullying at the hands of her cousin Dudley.
But, when she turned 11, she had learned that there was something behind this, she was a Witch, and her aunt and uncle hated that. It wasn't the stupid Christian idea of killing witches and witches being in league with the devil or such nonsense. No, they were just bigoted. Ellie learned of all this when a huge man with a shaggy, brown beard knocked down the door of a cabin the Dursleys, her relatives, had fled with her to escape the cavalcade of letters which kept popping up.
Letters of invitation, to Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Kinda corny the subtitle there, but who was she to complain? The man, Haggrid, the first human, or as she suspected half-human given his physique, who showed her kindness as long as she could remember. What was odd was how Haggrid seemed to get a bit tight lipped at times, and more so when he gave her a picturebook with photographs of her parents.
What was odd about that? Well, for one Ellie didn't look an awful lot like them, though it had been explained to her that she was, technically, their daughter but by Blood Adoption, a magical ritual which bound a parent and an adopted child by blood. This explained why the tips of her hair were black in some spots and some strands were black as well, not to mention the Hetero-chromatic green eye she had.
Also, they didn't wear huge hats to cover their heads, and distinctly lacked blue energy wings on the head. What was however even stranger than that about the album was a distinct lack of pictures with her in them. To add onto this, when she had seen into the Mirror of Erised she had seen an odd image, it was her, with a whole bunch of kids with the same hat as her. Six other kids to be exact, and dragons.
Yeah, dragons. There were seven of them, one of them, standing closest to her, was covered in gray scales with red hair on its head. It had seemed to explode after a few moments into a puff of smoke before appearing as a mostly humanoid girl her age, but clearly still draconic with the same skin color. She also shared her primary hair color and in fact, in this humanoid form Ellie could swear the dragon looked a bit like her.
The other figures were largely indistinct, they had varying colors and paired with different dragons. One of the kids, a boy Ellie thought, had been wearing a turquoise hat and was with a white dragon, and she could swear when they patted her reflection's head in an almost brotherly manner, she could feel it.
Professor Dumbledore, when he revealed himself to her at one point, had looked rather troubled by her description. He wouldn't disclose what he knew about any of them. No matter how she pleaded for answers at least for the dragon who seemed connected to her specifically, he deflected.
This all come to a head this summer, 1992, Ellie had been back at Number 4 Privet Drive, living it up somewhat because the Dursleys weren't aware that she couldn't cast magic outside of school until she was 17 years old. Then a House Elf come. They were small Fey creatures, Ellie had read about them in a book once when trying to figure out if she was some known near-human being.
House Elves served wizard families basically as slaves with varying degrees of mistreatment. They had a biological need to serve wizards they were bonded to, and this one, Dobby, clearly belonged to an abusive master.
Anyway, Dobby had come to Ellie to try and persuade her to stay away from Hogwarts because, according to him, something terrible would happen there. When Ellie refused, citing her mistreatment at the Dursleys and her friends, Ron, Hermione and Neville, he had decided to try and force her to stay.
How? He teleported to the kitchen, used some telekinetic magic of some sort, no spell spoken, no wand, and levitated the cake the Dursleys made over the business partner of Uncle Vernon. He tried dropping it, and Ellie tried to reach out, tried to cause "Accidental Magic" to stop it from falling.
And it worked! Kinda.
From her hand a flash of blue sprang forward, forming a sort of portal in the air above the man, into which the cake fell, and then closed. Ellie had stared at this, but had quickly fled before the guests could see her, knowing punishment would be worse if they saw her. She had still gotten yelled at for it after they left, with no issues coming beyond Ellie not being able to cough up the cake on demand.
She had explained what happened, how it was a House Elf who had tried dropping the cake and whatever she had done was accidental. Not a spell she cast consciously.
Surprisingly, her Maternal Aunt, by adoption but still, Petunia had mentioned she had heard about these House Elves, though she considered them "Nasty Creatures" due to their magical talents. Vernon, Petunia's elephant in a suit of a husband, was as close to dropping the issue on account of it not ruining anything, until an owl flew in with a letter for Ellie.
A warning about using magic outside of school, from the Ministry of Magic.
And with that, Ellie found her one weapon, her alleged ability to curse them, taken away. Empty threats they had been, but it had been her only weapon against the Dursleys, her only defense against whatever they would do. Now they had locked her up, promising to not let her out, ever. Even threatening them with others coming to get her like last time didn't work.
So, now she sat in the room she now called her own, formerly Dudley's second bedroom, second floor of the house, and what she had thought originally was an odd addition, in the form of iron bars on the window. She wasn't surprised coming back that they did so, they hated her after all and maybe they feared she would be riding out with a broomstick. Well, she had one, her Nimbus 2000, but she couldn't ride it in a Muggle neighborhood, much less during summer vacation.
But now? Now she found Vernon placing dozens of locks on the outside of the door, making a small opening in the bottom for food and water, and basically turning it into a true prison cell. The fact they did this to an 11 years old girl, just going onto 12, was quite extreme. She had known they were hateful, but this was absurd.
He did this during the night too, so after they had basically forced her to go to sleep, even turning off the electricity in the room. They had installed a Breaker for just that room alone, somehow. She wasn't sure how to be honest but that was a wee bit extreme in her opinion.
But, throughout the day following the revelation of her secret regarding magic, and the mysterious power she had seemingly gained as it didn't match any magic she had ever heard of, a dream kept replaying in her mind. A dream of… questionable nature, to be honest.
In it, she saw herself on a map, like a figure. The map was of Europe with her obviously on the island of Brittain, around where Surrey should be. Then, she seemed to zoom out, away and finally back in, visibly going to Albania, and on one point, a Dragon shaped symbol appeared, and from it, the dragon girl she had seen in the mirror of Erised. She had reached out to her, a magical image appearing before her hand with a humanoid figure forming.
This figure held out their hand, a blue portal appearing from it, then another further away and they jumped through, coming out the other end.
This went through her mind all day, and after a few hours, she took it as her magic telling her something. So she tried. By the time nightfall come, she had learned how to do it herself, and eaten that cake too, which thankfully landed with minimal damage when she made a portal near the floor, having expected it to come out.
The cake was quite delicious too, not that she would tell her aunt.
Not just because of wanting to spite the woman, but because she wouldn't be around to tell her. When she was certain the Dursleys were asleep, and having not received another letter for using magic, Ellie took the cage of Hedwig, having let the bird out with a letter to Ron to tell him she was having trouble but had found a way to leave, and if possible she may show up at his brother's dragon preserve and for her to stay with him until either Ellie come to him or school started, then opened a portal in front of the door, and another she then pushed through the door.
Sticking her head through as she practiced, she found it on the other side of the door as hoped. From there it was easy to step through. She did the same at the stairs, avoiding any creaky steps, then phased through the door to the cupboard under them to retrieve everything they had stashed inside. She was infinitely thankful for her expanded bag, a purchase she made for herself at Diagon Alley, as well as the automated "Touch with magic" enchantments on her trunk, making it shrink to fit in anything.
With all that out of the way, Ellie shouldered her bag, locked the front door with the keys hanging next to the door, then stepped through with the keys in her pocket using her portals. She also had locked all other doors, just to spite them, taking all the keys with her, including for the car.
Petty? Yes. Warranted? Hell yeah.
Ellie made it out of Surrey rather quickly, almost a decade of Dudley had made her quite agile on her feet after all and if nothing else, Ellie could run. She also experimented more with her portals, realizing for starters that she could move much faster through them due to retaining her momentum, though it took her a few tries until her skills at "Portal Toss" were enough for her to practically fly with them by throwing them so that she would come in from above, accelerating each time a bit but keeping it steady.
She stopped after two hours, her wristwatch saying it was around 5 AM, and she had found a cozy enough bridge under which she could sleep. By her estimate she was a good 10 kilometers out from Surrey now so she figured, nobody would be searching for her this far out. Not in the middle of the night.
Getting her bag out she took out her trunk and got in, having put it behind some trashbins, and went to bed inside. It was a live-in trunk, a premium feature, so that was nice. She didn't leave her bag out obviously and the trunk had a notice-me-not enchantment on it for all Muggles and animals, so that was safe.
The next morning Ellie went to a supermarket and, under the excuse of buying groceries for her family who had moved nearby, bought herself some stuff for breakfast, bread, cheese, butter, the usual. It wasn't as filling as a Hogwarts feast, but given Hogwarts had enough cooks, professional if you asked her, to feed hundreds of kids at the same time? Not surprising.
She eventually got to a train station and, after some asking around, got her way into a train ticket that went to Paris Nord, she wasn't sure why it was called that, and well it went on like that. It would take her over a day of travel, but it was faster and less exhausting than trying to cross the English Channel to France by Portal or broom.
Also a lot less legally questionable.
Also, she didn't need a passport to go by train, and she doubted she could get some transportation method by magical means. Dumbledore seemed to be hiding something, and this draconic being she had seen in the mirror with those people who had the same hat as her and their own dragons, it seemed related.
So yeah, she preferred to go slow and steady rather than risking the old man catching her and potentially forcing her to go back to the Dursleys, even if it was only for the summer. They had proven, that place wasn't a home, it was a prison.

Meanwhile, in Scottland…
"Minerva! The wards at Number 4 Privet Drive just went down!"
~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~
Back to our regularly scheduled run-away…
Ellie yawned, she was the only one on the train at this point in time, it was already night again and she wasn't sure where exactly she was. She was hoping this would all work out alright. At least she could, hopefully, catch some sleep here for a while, not in her trunk obviously but still.
Falling asleep, Ellie found herself standing in a meadow, not in a train. And she knew it was a dream, which was odd, but then again, so was this… dream?
"Less of a dream, more like a vision sis." Ellie yelped hearing this voice and spun around, her eyes falling on the humanoid she had seen in the mirror last year and her dream before.
"Wait, its you! I- wait, is this some sorta magic vision thing? Telepathy? Am I actually talking to a dragon in humanoid form?" Asked Ellie, a bit overwhelmed by the ideas that come to her mind, though her conversation partner frowned.
"Well yeah, I've been trying to contact you but something has been blocking me. And geez, is that how you greet your sister?" Asked the girl and Ellie blinked, staring.
"Wait, sister? I- No, wait, I'm obviously not human but, I'm not a dragon, am I?" Asked Ellie, a bit freaked out.
"Oh great, the goat didn't tell you did he?" Asked the dragon girl and Ellie looked at her in puzzlement, getting a resigned sigh from her. "Alright, lets start from the beginning. I am Azkalagora Tempesta Potter, you are my twin sister, Elizabeth Evergreen Potter. Yes, we're twins. Yes I am a dragon. No, technically you're not." Stated Azkalagora, and Ellie stared at her in disbelieve.
"Wait, hold on, how? And how are we talking in my dream?" Asked Ellie, this was getting extremely confusing.
"Let me explain." Stated Azkalagora, raising a hand. She had quite good manicure Ellie noted, though her fingernails were black. "We are the seventh born children of the Goddess Eliatrope, goddess of Wakfu, life energy and creation, and the Great Dragon, God of Stasis, Decay and Destruction. As we are direct children of them, we count among the First-Born of our kinds. Dragons and Eliatropes. The latter, is you. Our races are linked as us first-born are always born in pairs from our Dofus, reborn after death that is." Explained Azkalagora and Ellie blinked in surprise.
"Wait, if we're the children of gods, doesn't that mean we're gods? How?" Asked Ellie, not quite understanding how that worked. She wasn't religious but she never even heard of Eliatrope.
"I'm not really sure how this works. I know all of this merely from the visions I've been having. As a dragon I develop faster than you, so I've been using our Gift, Envision, actively for years. That is how I know all of this. It is how I was able, a few nights ago, to send you that message, it was a weak link I was able to establish while you slept, but if I'm not mistaken, it was because you awakened your Wakfu." Explained Azkalagora and Ellie blinked.
"Wait, you mentioned "Wakfu" before, what is that? I had that dream with you after that first portal magic happened." Asked Ellie, a bit confused by the new terminology and Azkalagora nodded.
"That was you using your Wakfu, more specifically an inherent ability all Eliatropes develop around the age of 10 to 12. Technically it can be considered a form of magic but it is far closer to the one used by House Elves, a natural display of a magical ability. That is why I showed you those images in the dream. And that's just the most basic application actually." Explained the dragon girl and Ellie raised an eyebrow.
"I thought my practically flying with the portals was pretty advanced compared to just using them to bypass doors." Stated Ellie and noticed, in fact, Azkalagora was smiling at her.
"Heh, I take it you figured out how to launch portals mid-air to keep jumping between them?" Asked Azkalagora and Ellie nodded, a bit surprised her sister figured that out. "Good job, I couldn't give you more tips at the time because of something trying to block our connection, but now I can. I can't do it for too long, this call is already running faster than normal time, but I have some defense tips. First, you can close your portals while something is going through, that is lethal if done right so… yeah. It can also be used to cut something off. Also, if you shove one portal into another, an energy beam made of Wakfu is fired from it." Explained Azkalagora and Ellie blinked, then looked at her hands.
"I have handguns." She muttered and her twin burst out laughing at that.
"Good comparison actually, though I doubt you'll be able to pull actual handgun portals off right now. I should mention that I, as your dragon twin, have more destructive powers, based around our father's domain of Stasis, Anti-Wakfu in other words. I won't waste time trying to explain it here, I'd like to talk instead. How have you been? I've been sensing your distress over the years but news don't get from Brittain to here. Most I heard was Mister Weasley bringing in a baby Norwegian Hunchback from Scottland." Explained Azkalagon and Ellie listened up.
"Wait, you mean Charlie Weasley? Red head, works at a dragon preserve, the dragon his friends brought in was named Norbert?" Asked Ellie and that got Azkalagon's attention.
"Yeah, wow that was specific. Don't tell me you hatched an egg illegally sis." Asked the dragon girl and Ellie shook her head.
"No, but me and one of my friends helped get it to the guys who brought it to the preserve. A friend of ours got Norbert's egg in a poker game, he is a huge dragon fan see? But that means you're directing me to that preserve? How did you get there? Why were we split up?" Asked Ellie, it felt… it felt just right to speak with her like this. There was something she felt had been missing all her life, she thought it was magic, or her parents, but maybe this was it? Her twin.
"Well, after old snake face blew the roof off the house after killing mom and dad, Haggrid got to us. I knew him and he got me to calm down a bit, saying he was bringing us to the Professor mom and dad were so fond of, Dumbledore. Well, turns out he wanted to leave you with blood relatives of our adopted mother, since we've been Blood Adopted and thus there were some magic wards that could shield you. But he considered putting a life baby dragon, even if clearly sapient, with Muggles wasn't a good idea. I tried protesting but he had his damn phoenix teleport me to the Preserve with orders that I wouldn't leave, Statute of Secrecy or whatever. Bunch of bull if you ask me." Stated Azkalagora, sitting down with a huff.
"Well, you're very obviously not human so I don't think you could pass for my human twin back in Surrey. But they didn't tell me anything about you, Haggrid didn't tell me anything either but it explains why he was looking so conflicted and why that photoalbum he gave me didn't have any baby photos of me, you were probably on all of them." Stated Ellie, it bothered her incredibly to consider that they had been hiding so much from her. It hurt.
"Great, damn old man." Grumbled Azkalagora, shaking her head. "Anyway, what about you? How did you fare with mom's sister? I could feel something being wrong a lot, but I don't know what." Asked Azkalagora and Ellie blinked, a bit but it made sense. She had always a feeling Fred and George had more goingo n than they let on. Maybe that was it.
So, the two began to talk, talking about their respective lives. And Ellie learned a lot.
A lot of swear words that is.
Turns out Azkalagora, who told Ellie to call her Az, it was a nickname she had gotten a few years ago since her name was, well, incredibly long, had been around people from 28 different countries and picked up a lot of curses of the verbal variety over her nearly eleven years living in the preserve. She had a lot of choice words for the Dursleys, Dumbledore, and whoever had the bright idea to keep Az hidden from Ellie.
Not that this state of affairs would continue, as Az made sure to give Ellie directions from the closest stop for her train to the preserve.
The sisters would reunite, even if Ellie had to learn how to fight with portals.
~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~
Albus Percival Wulfric Dumbledore could swear he should've asked the Weasleys. He knew their second youngest, Ron, was friends with Elizabeth, so obviously if she ran away she would be telling him.
Evidently her owl, Hedwig, had arrive the day before with a letter telling him she was visiting his brother, Charlie. It was quite troubling to him, because it indicated she may have found out something regarding her sister, Azkalagora. He had separated the twins in fear of the dragon, an unknown species with clear intelligence, negatively impacting the much more human-like Elizabeth.
Trouble was, Elizabeth had run away days before he could find out about this, and he wasn't even sure how she got out. The Dursleys had gone too far, yes, but the whole house was locked up and the keys were missing with no signs of her using mundane means to escape her room. They had informed him that she had, the day before, gotten a reprimand from the Ministry about using magic, but had claimed it was the doing of a House Elf named Dobby, and she had averted a disaster with some sort of portal magic.
They had given out all this information begrudgingly and he had given them a serious dressing down for what they did. He had heard from Haggrid how they treated Elizabeth, yes, but he thought that what happened with Haggrid would at least grant her a modicum of security from the abuse so she could remain under the protection of the wards.
But that had been in vain, instead she had taken off to Albania of all places, and he could only assume it was related to her sister, Azkalagora. He wasn't sure how James and Lily come up with the name, but that was what they called the scaly twin of Elizabeth. And this was a problem. He had no idea about how the dragon had developed, she had been acting, and he knew it was a her, all magical diagnostics showed that, but he was not confident that the girl could get to her easily even if she knew where the preserve was located.
Additionally, as there were no reports of her trying to take the Floo on an international scale, which would be quite noticeable, and her not even yet aware of the Floo Network, she likely took a Muggle transportation method. As she had no Muggle papers of her own, was underage and also traveling independently, it likely meant she didn't take an airplane. Instead he suspected she had taken a train instead, which could mean she was already well beyond Brittish borders.
Naturally he could try to go to Albania ahead of her, intercept her and all that, but three problems arose there.
1. Fawkes, his phoenix companion, was in the later stages of his current life cycle. This meant he couldn't flame him there.
2. Albania prohibited unannounced travels by magical means from Brittain specifically, meaning one had to go by Muggle transport.
3. Albania made it a point not to expodite anyone traveling there to British authorities. As such he couldn't ask them to apprehend Elizabeth for him ever since they had found out that the last people they handed over had been innocents who had been persecuted by the darker side of the Ministry.
So, he had two options: Book a flight and hope he got there before Ellie did, or let her be and send an owl to the Preserve to let them know she was allowed to be there due to her relationship to Azkalagora. It would probably be best to check if said dragon had shown any more signs of higher intelligence as she had while still a hatchling, having been much more mentally acute than her sister at the time and having a much more humanoid build than normal dragons.
Sure, it would crush a lot of good faith he had built with the girl, but that could be rebuilt. Besides, what were the chances that Azkalagora was still willing to deal with her sister? She was a dragon, a nearly 12 years old dragon. By that age, dragons were considered adults and had at least five clutches of eggs to their name.
If she didn't refuse to mate with a dominant male, which was unlikely given draconic mating behaviors and her being a smaller, younger female.
Wasn't like she had some magical powers that could put down a dragon or two.
~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~
"Azkalagora, why did you put Tyrine through a volcano wall?" Asked Charlie Weasley as he approached the strangest dragon in the Preserve.
Also, the most dominant female in the whole place, although she was a virgin. Her dominance coming from her beating the shit out of every dragon that tried mating with her regardless of her apparently not reaching maturity yet.
"Because I wanted you to come here Charlie. Why didn't you tell me Ellie was responsible for sending Norbert here?" Asked Az, glaring at the ginger, standing here in her humanoid form rather than the fully draconic form she used while not among humans.
"How did you learn that of all things?" Asked Charlie, a bit shocked sounding and Az scowled at that.
"Simple, I finally got in contact with her, no thanks to you. Mind telling me why you didn't mention that your younger brother was friends with my twin sister?" Asked Az, glaring at him and he flinched back. While her shapeshifting was quite remarkable, it couldn't be understated how inhuman she still looked and how terrifying an angry dragon could be.
He weighed his choices for a moment, he could lie, but the magical dragon girl before him was known for being perceptive, to the point some argued it was a natural form of Negilimency. So… "Professor Dumbledore had given instructions to the preserve when he sent you here, to not involve you with anything in Britain. I don't know the reason beyond what I've been told was something about letting you return to a natural state or something. I don't think he thought you'd stay, well, sapient." Explained Charlie and got the most annoyed and deadpan look he had seen from her.
"That old man must have Alzheimer's Syndrome or something, Anybody could tell me and the dragons here aren't even in the same family of lifeforms, we're just anatomically similar." Grumbled the dragon girl, and Charlie had to agree. She had a lot of the same anatomical features as other dragons, but all analytical spells come back inconclusive, but they worked which was not normal for a dragon older than three months, much less over a year as she had been before she come here.
"Well, you obviously broke through whatever has been set up to stop you from doing it, so what now? You know you can't leave the Preserve by Muggle means and don't have the documentation to travel by International Floo." Asked Charlie, it was a bit troubling, considering Elizabeth probably wanted to meet her sister as soon as possible, but said sister was stuck pretty far away from her.
"Oh I don't have to leave, Ellie is coming here, she has escaped the hellhole the old man left her in. And if you want me not to become uncooperative, you're gonna go to the train station and bring her here, got it, Charles Weasley?" Asked Az and he flinched, her tone was the exact same as his mother when she was telling him this wasn't a request, but an order. Especially when a woman called you by your full name, that was a sign you should stop arguing.
"Y- yes Ma'am." He muttered, knowing better than to pick a fight with the strongest dragon in the Preserve. "How will I recognize her? I haven't seen any photos of her to be honest." Asked Charlie, he knew he met the twins more than likely when he was younger, but he couldn't remember that well, he thought he could remember a small bundle of orange cloth.
"She wears an orange hat with ear-like protrusions on top of it. And she has the same hair color as me." Stated Az and Charlie cringed, that wasn't the best description but he supposed that couldn't be helped given as far as he knew, Elizabeth Potter was mostly human in appearance. He knew obviously as the twin of a dragon she wasn't, but still.
He parted ways with Az not long after when she gave him the name and city of the station where Elizabeth would be arriving, with her heading back to the cabin she had built for herself near the Preserve's borders, far away from just about any other dragon, while he went to the main Station of the Preserve where his coworkers and him were staying and could leave the Preserve.
Reaching the place Charlie was a bit surprised to find Agripina, a Greek witch he had been dating for a while, come out of the Preserve Observatory, as usual she was moving a bit lame due to her deformed legs. "Hey Charlie what's up?" Greeted the woman as she approached him. She wasn't the biggest fan of Professor Dumbledore so he suspected this would be just more ammo for her to criticise him on top of his treatment of Az who she never agreed to need to stay here.
"Had to go talk to Az about that rampage but kind of resolved it now, how are your legs doing today?" He asked, noting the slight hobble from her gait, which was awkward as usual. He wasn't sure what the problem was to be honest but it had been so as long as he had known her.
"They're fine. And I heard about that rampage, what was with that?" Asked Agripina, sitting down at a table while Charlie looked around for some Floo powder.
"Somehow she got in touch with her sister, Elizabeth Potter, and the kid's on her way to Albania. She's the one who helped send Norbert over. And Az is demanding I meet up with her at the train station so she won't get lost." Explained Charlie with a sigh, because having no magic resistance meant nothing when the dragon without it was hard to hit and hit harder than just about any other dragon he knew. And that said something.
"Oof, I was wondering when that stupid isolation would break. Want me to come along?" Asked Agripina and Charlie raised an eyebrow.
"Why do you want to come along? It will probably get rather boring, kid's still just a kid no matter how famous and is pretty normal from what I heard." Asked Charlie, staring at her.
"I just want to make sure she's fine, looking out for the kid you know?" Asked Agripina and after a moment, Charlie shrugged, was as good an outing as any other he supposed.
~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~O~~o~~
Agripina fidgeted as she left the Floo.
As much as Charlie was a sweet boy and as easy as the assignment had been, keeping track of two non-greeks wasn't the typical mission statement. However, a Seeker has to do what a Seeker has to do.
At the very least she got some nice dates out of it, and so far the combination of whatever defenses had been put up around Elizabeth and the sheer overwhelming power of Az, had ensured they weren't attacked by anything as far as she was aware. She wasn't, however, aware of any Seeker assigned to Ellie, which would probably now mean she had two to guard and, eventually, guide.
She would really like to know who their parents were anyway, Mister D. had looked mystified by the announcement of their names after all, but that was a secondary concern. At the Muggle station Agripina watched with Charlie the various Muggles, they were in casual clothing, for obvious reasons, and luckily she had gone out with Charlie enough such that he actually dressed like a normal human being and not like some hobo.
It also wasn't long until they spotted a distinct, orange hat, and Agripina smelled it too. Way too much of that blood in this one same as Az. The girl who they soon approached was a petite young girl, her red hair was short and unruly with black highlights and some tipped back too, signs of Blood Adoption. Her hair also wasn't red in the sense of a Ginger being red-headed, it was like Azkalagora's hair, more like a ripe tomato.
The girl's eyes, which were brown and almost hidden under the brim of that huge hat, nearly immediately landed on Charlie and her eyes widened before he raised a hand. "Ellie right? I'm Charlie Weasley, your sister asked me to get you." He told her quickly and Ellie visibly relaxed just a bit.
"Ah, right the place is hidden, right? Az said she'd figure something out.." Muttered Ellie, scratching the back of her head, notably moving the hat as little as possible.
"Yup, though keep it a bit quiet alright? We're still nowhere near in the clear." Stated Charlie and ushered the girl off the Muggle platform with Agripina following, casting a few spells to keep anyone from noticing them, as well as a few more against certain parties.
They led Ellie to the local Magical district, the girl visibly surprised by the differences between Diagon Alley in Britain and this one, then flummoxed her with the Floo Network. Girl took a while to have it explained to her, and they got some odd looks for guiding an obviously British Witch child to the Dragon Preserve, but nobody bothered them.
"Wow, this place looks a lot more modern than… literally any wizard area I've been to. I mean, if I got a nickle for every wizard centric place I've been to which was medieval or adjacent to it, I'd have two nickles. It isn't much but it is odd how that is the same as the number I'd have for every wizard place I've been to except this one." Commented Ellie and Charlie chuckled, he couldn't deny this, the Preserve observation station was indeed equipped with much more modern ammenities and technologies after all. Including radar systems.
And Tranquilizer Missiles that could be shot at and tranq rampaging dragons that didn't have hugely long names for no real reason, or could transform into a semi-human form. "We had to adapt, you can't exactly deal with dragons using magic, especially on a huge Preserve like this. That is why we have radar stations all over the place with missile launchers that fire missiles which administer tranquilizer agents through magically reinforced, military grade, titanium alloy needles. Typically aiming their ass." Stated Agripina cheerfully and got a weirded out look from the small girl.
"Don't look at us like that, you're the girl who is also the twin sister of a literal alien dragon." Pointed out Charlie with a chuckle, but the girl shook her head, deciding obviously not to press the issue.
"So, where is Az? I only saw her in two… visions I guess? I still don't get it. She isn't great at explaining this stuff." Stated Ellie, looking around while the two Dragon handlers looked at one another.
"Well, I can call her if you want, took us forever to get that landline set up." Stated Charlie, and ignored the incredulous look from the alien girl as he got the literal landline phone.
"Yeah, magic fields are harmful in the same way that Electromagnetic Waves are harmful, so the simpler the tech the less affected it is." Explained Agripina as they watched Charlie use an antique looking phone and dialing it.
"Hermione's gonna freak if I tell her that." Muttered Ellie, pointedly rubbing her head in an odd spot under her hat. Likely whatever was moving the cones of cloth sticking up from it.
"Well, while we're waiting, I know you're not a human, just a near-human being so… do you have cat ears under that hat?" Asked Agripina, and the girl sputtered a few seconds later, taken clearly aback.
"What in the-? No! I have normal human ears! This is, like, the nineteenth time I've been asked this!" Exclaimed Ellie and Agripina couldn't help but giggle at that.
"Sorry, couldn't help it. But you must admit, you do emote a fair bit with whatever is under there. Mind showing it?" Asked Agripina and the girl's face flushed.
"Nope, nah-ah! Never, Nein, no, Niet!" Declared the girl, crossing her arms in front of her as she actually expanded on a meme response. Also, she was a bit surprised that the tone of the no had sounded Spanish of all things.
"How about if I show you a bit of a secret of mine? Though in private." Suggested Agripina, but got a shake of the head from the small girl.
"No, I don't take my hat off around other people, never. Hell, it is the one oddity about me the Dursleys were okay with and they already knew from raising me since infancy." Stated Ellie, backing away which was… odd. But Agripina had to admit she could understand a bit. "Besides, I don't think some birthmark or whatever can compare to this." Added the girl and now Agripina couldn't help it.
She guffawed.
She had almost forgotten, the girl was entirely unaware of the world hidden even from the Wizards, she had lived as a No-Maj for most of her life and somehow, they hadn't been able to identify her underlying nature. "I wasn't gonna show you one of those, but point taken. So, how did you get out of your relative's home? And why did you run away anyway?" Asked Agripina, changing the topic as Charlie had hung up and was coming over, looking curious.
"House Elf got into the place, tried to drop a cake on some guy my adoptive Fraternal aunt's husband was having over for dinner. I prevented it by accidentally unlocking a racial ability of mine and then the Ministry sent a reprimand and warning. Ironically they can't detect my use of my ability, what set off the Trace was the elf." Stated Ellie, evidently deciding that this she could share with them.
"Oof, yeah that is a known bug outside the UK. That is why The Trace actually doesn't work in magic heavy environments." Stated Agripina, getting a shocked look from Charlie for it. "What? You didn't think the system that uses your wand to detect magic use in your surroundings wouldn't trigger at the Burrow otherwise, right? I heard the place is held together by flex tape, magic and a stubborn attitude." Stated Agripina and Charlie winced at that, she could tell he conceded her point.
"Well, it didn't go so well. I didn't get in trouble for basically putting the cake in hyperspace or whatever you wanna call it, but I was set to my room, which I have slept in for all of three months so far, and while I slept, having my first Envision as Az calls it, Vernon the Walrus Dursley installed like 50 locks on the outside of the door. They already had bars over the window and now that they knew I couldn't use magic, they planned to keep me trapped." Explained Ellie with a dark scowl on her face.
"I take it then, you managed to use that power you awakened to escape? How, did you blow a hole in the door?" Asked Charlie, sounding way too amused.
"Nah, I didn't have a proper vision conversation with Az yet so I didn't know that trick yet." Responded Ellie and a beat passed between the two adults.
"You're joking, what kind of power do you have then?" Asked Charlie, Agripina listening as well.
In response, Ellie raised her right hand, her palm glowing blue before she pushed forward a bit, a blue, circular… something, appearing in the air. She then waved her left hand, a second appearing over a table with some food laid out. Ellie subsequently reached into the first, her hand coming out the second, and she grabbed a sandwich on the table before pulling back and taking a bite.
"I can make portals." Answered Ellie finally, the portals dissipating as she did so.
"So you used those to basically phase through doors? Neat." Stated Charlie and Agripina giggled, fully agreeing.
"Yup, admittedly I may have stolen all the keys on the house. And a good chunk of their savings so… And the car keys too now that I think about it. They probably won't try to report me for it given the state of the bedroom door. It would look way more urgent than me robbing them in retaliation for ten years of neglect and abuse. Hell, I haven't eaten outside of Hogwarts as well in that house as I've done on the run, that isn't supposed to be right?" Asked Ellie and Agripina winced.
"No, no child should make such a statement and be accurate." Conceded Agripina, someone had dropped the ball hard it seemed, given Ellie hadn't had anyone of substance looking out for her.
Their conversation stopped as two knocks from different points of the building were heard. One was at the door, the other was a beak hitting a window. "Looks like Az got here, and an owl for some reason too." Noted Charlie, standing up as he went to the door while Agripina took the owl message.
"Is it a snowy owl? I sent mine to a friend so maybe he sent a letter to the Preserve with her." Asked Ellie, but was disappointed to see a barn owl instead.
"Nope, it is from Professor Dumbledore." Stated Agripina as she opened the letter, then laughed. "Oh man, looks like he heard about you running away from the Dursleys and coming here. Probably the Weasley parents, they're close with him right Charlie? Gives you permission to be here since you're related to Az but he is also asking if she has shown signs of higher intelligence." Stated Agripina, amused by the proposition to the contrary.
"Well I hope I have." Speaking of the dragon and she shall appear, Az looked was in her human form as usual. However, before she took five steps in, Ellie hugged her, having skipped the distance with portals to do something she hadn't done in over 10 years.
Hug her twin.

So, with this I'm ending the chapter.
Let me know what you think in the comments if you like. Wonder how many of you guys can figure out what Agripina is from. But please, do not say it in the comments, send it to me by PM and when I reveal it I'll be sure to add a list of everyone who guessed right. No I won't confirm it with a reply to you. You just gotta wait until disclosure at the end of Chamber of Secrets.
Also, without my commentary, this chapter is 7443 words long. Maybe or maybe not, including line breaks.
