Author's Note: hey, everyone, it's been quite some time since I was last on my game. I've been up to my eyeballs in work since 2022. Then, last year, due to an extensive amount of stress, I caught the Shingles, which I can honestly say was not fun, especially when it was right around half my face and close to my right eye. I was pretty much out of it for three months until it went away, but still, sometimes that feeling comes back and always feels like it's just right at the edge of my skin.

I know I've been on hiatus, especially with my other stories on , but work and stress and pretty much everything in my life have hunkered me down, and I felt like I was reaching its lowest point. Having gone through so much, and yet instead of going on a breakdown, I keep trying, but I've been finding I'm close to feeling the weight crushing on my soul. Yet the only thing that's been keeping my spirit from at its lowest was watching, playing, and reading Pokemon and other anime. In a moment of inspiration, I decided to crossover on a specific path with some twists, especially for Ash to become Ashi and a few other surprises I have in store.

Bear in mind that I've been working myself to the bone, and while I'm not sure if it's perfect yet, if anyone is interested in becoming a beta to edit and help me move things along, as well as help revise this. If there are issues, let me know. There are to be many changes up to the story, though throw in some things to give it more action, comedy, romance, and the like. Also, I know I might not be familiar with it, but I tried my best with how Acnologia was. But if anyone wants to give me some intel, please tell me what I missed.

Also, please give me thoughts and feedback on how you feel about this whole story, Read and Review

A Beginning that Starts with a Dragon's Happiness

It was a bright, sunny afternoon in Vermillion city, with nothing but clear blue skies and warm temperatures leaning in the seventies and staying like that till the later evening when the sun went down. About ninety percent of the pedestrians were in swimsuits, heading towards the ever-populated beaches and piers. However, it might be hard to find a place since it was probably already overcrowded this morning.

Others chose to beat the heat by hanging inside the air-conditioned buildings that were open to the public and also their wallets, knowing the heat can make one very thirsty, and what better than to break out the ice cold beverage and fruity ice cream moo shakes that had that sweet, tangy flavor to fit this auspicious season.

At half past four, if you sat patiently enough and listened closely, one could hear the bellow of ships mooring at the docks, coming in from whatever places they've been to or seeing to replenish the supplies before continuing onto their next destination while sailing out into the sunset.

It is truly a wondrous sight to behold, and watching how you can appreciate the things around you and knowing that you are a part of it makes it all worthwhile.

These were the thoughts of the young man watching them from the third floor of his apartment building and breathing in the salty air. Savoring these while in the sun as he leans on the railing and listens to the ongoing merriment happening all around him. The people around here knew him as Ace, but no one knew that was only a nickname his wife came up with for his sake. Remembering the few times he introduced himself, he got strange looks when they heard it before deciding to shorten it. Thus, he went with Ace for everyone's peace of mind. He rarely uses his real name anymore, to be honest, and only his wife was allowed to when they were alone together.

You might wonder why he didn't just legally change it; that was because the name was a part of him from another life, and it was a bit more complicated to explain.

Yet still, he made quite an exceptional life here. People saw him as a distinctive individual, sometimes a bit aloof, but not that it kept them from seeing he was undoubtedly appealing to the general population in the area. Not that anyone could deny it, as even his beloved would say how the other ladies were envious of her exemplary good fortune. He was a relatively tall man who stood six foot three with a burly physique and well-defined chisel features that looked to have been made out of Marquina marble and had caught the eyes of many who saw him in passing. Seeing his swarthy complexion and wild navy mane that fell to the nape of his neck, even when he tried to tame them, only made it more unruly and eye-catching to those who saw him in passing. But what was probably his most attractive feature was his eyes. Those sea-green orbs were like two piercing Amazonite gems that darkened to the point of obsidian when his emotions got the best of him. It was like staring into a smoldering inferno with those dark rings enhancing them. His looks were so intimidating, and he knew he could appear unnerving if one tried to cross him or do something to those he was close to. His presence could be pretty intense, yet he tried to keep his composure for the sake of his precious beloved.

After all, it's not like anyone else knew that beneath this simple human facade lies a truly monstrous being who once caused much death and destruction in their wake and was feared by many when they uttered the name in dread and despair where he came from:

Acnologia, the KING of DRAGONS!

The former sovereign chuckled. It seems almost like a lifetime ago, considering Acnologia had only been in this realm for a few years and already felt more at home than in his old world. The centuries he lived as a dragonslayer and thinking of all he did back then, seeing his actions had caused great pain and suffering to countless people in his past life. Even though those times had been chaotic, the Dragon King Festival that he remembers vividly to this day, those horrific bloodshed moments, and how a once young promising doctor had let himself think of only vengeance as his sole purpose on the battleground instead of protecting the people who should have mattered most. Those deaths had been what raged out against those flying scaled creatures, sinking claws and teeth into their flesh and not caring whether it was foe or ally he was taking out. All that mattered was seeing the ground soaked in crimson, and then, when it was finished, he became the true king of the skies. He allowed his emotions to cloud his better judgment. He gave way to becoming an arrogant being who thrived on others' misfortune, taking lives when he, as a healer, was sworn to save but instead chose to reap his enemies and anyone else standing in his way.

He knew it was something he would have to live with for the rest of his life. He still felt some guilt lingering in his subconscious, knowing his actions could not change what he did back there.

Yet, he found himself letting them go thanks to the kind effort of his love's encouragement and seeing he made amends in ways that helped those who needed it most. She was like a benevolent saintess who managed to cleanse him of that heavy burden weighing on his soul, and seeing he swore to do everything in his power not to abuse this second chance of his. Yet, knowing her, she'd say, 'Just live your life to the fullest and don't allow that baggage to hold you back, Ace.'

Yes, she would definitely say something like that to him. He admits that at the beginning, adjusting to his new surroundings took some getting used to. Still, he had a sensible guide who showed him how to adapt, and he enjoyed what he encountered during his trek through this new realm.

Though sometimes it was challenging to keep from using my powers whenever needed, it's not so bad. Plus, there's so much here I don't even think I could've ever guessed to be possible, even in my wildest dreams.

He felt the gentle breeze ruffle his disheveled tresses and move to push back the extended fringes from his eyes as he looked out over the open waters of Vermillion Port. Everyone was in good spirits, and he found he could share that sentiment now that he had grown accustomed to this new lifestyle.

He was thinking how, at one time, his only goal was to eradicate those cumbersome dragonslayers in one fell swoop. He wanted to see every last one of those be gone from existence along with those who chose to side with them. He thought he had the upper hand in using his time-space magic to bring them into his dimensional world and take them on individually, seeing how incredibly weak they were against him. Still, they somehow manage to come together and take him down all at once, along with their allies, who seek to stop him in his quest to annihilate everyone in his way.

Perhaps he let himself get carried away, believing he was unstoppable and no one could get in his way. Acnologia found that even though he was far more potent than all of them, they still found a way to beat him, even on his turf.

Acnologia closed his eyes for just a second, yet had that never happened, I'd never come here to this new world and meet her. He turned to gaze up at the open sky, his mind returning to what seemed like eons ago, yet he could still remember it as clear as day.

The day when he died and was reborn again.

Acnologia had not thought it would come down to this, that he would feel his life slipping away. It was impossible; how can this be?! Yet finding himself trapped in his own dimension and couldn't return to his original body meant he had lost. It's over. At long last, this was it. He had been expecting this to happen sooner or later, that someone stronger would come along and beat him. He let his arrogant pride be his undoing, seeing they manage to do the unthinkable and unite to defeat him once and for all!

He was so sure of his victory, yet now only tasting the bittersweet defeat on his tongue, the coppery tang of blood in his mouth as he bit his cheek in rage at the thought of losing now. He refused to believe this to his loss; he was the king of Dragons, the absolute ruler of this little whelp that had no idea who they were messing with!

He refuses to lie on his back belly up and gives them the utmost satisfaction of seeing him fall. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't deny that he was dying. His life energy slipping away, even in this dimension he created to control, but somehow, they gain the upper hand.

He let himself become too cocky, believing in his hubris that none could stop his plans to destroy everything. He had been caught in a trap of his own design, seeing that they had managed to keep him from escaping his dimension and returning to his own body. That Fairy Sphere that sealed off his body from letting his soul return to it and left to deal with the dragons that finally found a way to strike back. His plans are now destroyed, and his inner draconian is raging at this turn of events.

I know this is the end, but to think we'd be dying at this kid's hands! Igneel, you damn salamander, you must be enjoying this. I bet you're somehow laundering it over it, knowing your son has toppled us from the throne and yet says he doesn't want eternal glory.

A chit of a child that you must've known all along, you and the others no less figured would be bringing to my downfall!

His life flashed before his eyes, an endless eon of living the way he had, and then his moments as a mortal that he remembers fleeting but saw passing in his mind. Memories of a long-forgotten childhood, seeing the youthful emotions he felt when he was young and hearing the peals of laughter that came from being a carefree child. The laughs, as well as the tears that came to flow, mourning the countless lives of those he knew as comrades and kin, his home becoming a smoldering pile of debris as the monsters in the sky took everything he held precious.

His heart became stone, and all his emotions turned into white-hot anger and hatred, wanting to see all those who made him suffer feel his own. He had let revenge cloud his mind until all he could see was the broken bodies of his enemies, finding he couldn't stop the bloodlust that seemed to have consumed him in the process. He became the very thing he wanted to destroy, and now here he was, meeting his end at the hands of those dragon's slayers. The bits that kid threw about having people by his side, those who meant everything, made him think of his life before becoming who he was, and he regretted it.

Acnologia wondered if anyone from his old life would be waiting for him on the other side. His family and friends had all but become painful fragments in his mind. He had very little recollection of their names and faces, yet surely they'd be there. Still, perhaps his fate was not meant to join them. Yet, then again, he did many things that probably damned him to Hades and be punished for his misdemeanor by putting him into a dark void to suffer for all eternity.

He had lost so much and was about to become a historical side note. The great heroes of this realm defeated another monster that threatened their world.

(What a way to go...) Acnologia had no clue what happened as he was sure this must be the afterlife. Still, he found himself left in a surrounding area that did not indicate what was around him. However, he was left to his own devices, alone, with nothing but his thoughts to keep him company. The dragonslayer always had that feeling he was bound to lose his sanity yet couldn't do anything about it sitting idly in that darkness and couldn't do anything to change it.

(Like you're one to complain, I'm the one stuck with you for all eternity and can't do anything about it!)

Acnologia just tries to ignore it, though sometimes it does break up the boredom of listening to his inner dragon make its complaints, yet finding this changes nothing for either of them. They were stuck like this for who knows how long, perhaps for all of time itself.

He accepted this as his fate, now in this endless void of darkness, and sure, sooner or later, that he'll eventually cease existing sometime in the future and become nothing whenever this ends.

As they say, from ashes to ashes to dust to dust, and slowly but surely, I'll just be like that, if that even comes around…

Time seems like nothing when you're lying in an empty space with solitude as his only company and his own dark thoughts that seem to always be there. Perhaps this was his comeuppance, to be left in a state where he can't do anything about it. He went to deal with his subconscious thoughts and found it easy to badger him in this prison of theirs.

Acnologia would say it was divine justice at work but trying not to let it bother him. It seemed like ages, maybe a lot longer, but the more he thought about it, the more convinced something wasn't right. He felt something off, like he could hear noises but was muffled and feeling a presence slowly approaching.

"Hey, hey, mister, can you hear me?" A voice, someone was talking to him. Huh, had the gods decided to pity him, that's rich; indeed, it had been him imagining things.

Acnologia felt someone touch his neck, fingers pressing deep into the thick part of his throat, indicating they were trying to look for his pulse. He didn't think anything of it, but slowly, a scent overcame his nostrils: the delicate but strong perfume of lavender, earthy geranium, and vanilla.

Sweet yet simple, it also made the dragon wonder why these were coming towards him. He was confused, wondering what was happening, until he felt warm lips pressing against his, breathing air into his still lungs. Wha—His eyes shot open as he saw who was there, a person that he assumed was the one to have given 'the kiss of life.'

Even in the darkness, his eyes adjusted enough to see them right at his side. Long reddish-brown hair pulled back in a low ponytail revealed a heart-shaped face, and light cinnamon orbs looked at him with worry and concern. He stared at the young girl, yet she had the signs that she was a budding blossom on the verge of becoming a woman with soft curves and catching the whiff of pure innocence of a chaste maiden who had yet to be wed on her wedding night.

For one who had been lying in a deep comatose for so long, it was the most delectable scent he had ever breathed in. Acnologia had seen many women from his time, some far more beautiful or had that appeal that most men would want to think of as goddesses. Though he never would say it, Irene had quite the well-endowed figure that seemed to have been passed to her offspring the last time he saw it. Then, of course, there was the fabled moon dragonslayer Selene, whom he had heard rumors about. She was quite an uncanny beauty and had impressive magical skills that could be near his level. But Acnologia found it was a complete waste of time to consider mating those he saw beneath him; his main desire was to slaughter every slayer in his presence, and he didn't wish to lose focus on matters that were not of his highest priority in the grand scheme of things.

(Yeah, too bad for us. I mean, honestly, it feels like you were never going to get laid at any point, though then again, how can you pass up a chance to sire any if you ignore the delectable dishes that are laid out…)

There was something about this young woman he couldn't quite place his finger on. He heard them sigh in relief. "Oh, thank goodness you're okay. For a moment, I thought you weren't breathing."

"Wait, what? Where am I?" His surroundings were unfamiliar to him. It appears he's in some underground chamber and didn't see or sense anything recognizable to the dragonslayer.

"Oh well, you're, um, we are probably underground on route 45, otherwise known as Mountain Road, a few miles outside Blackthorn City," The wizard blinked, unfamiliar with the name. Route 45, Mountain Road, Blackthorn City, he never heard of such places before, and seeing, he tried to recall if there was any mention somewhere but came up blank.

Seeing his reaction to her words and trying to console him, the young woman moved her hand to touch his shoulder. The moment that happened, suddenly Acnologia found strange images flashing within his head. At first, he thought she used some mind magic and was ready to retaliate, yet he gets to look at them slowly with more care. These memories he saw came like a kaleidoscope, and he eventually realized they were moments from her life.

He sees the fragmented memories of her childhood as a child growing up in an orphanage till she turned sixteen and moved out to make it alone. She was diligent, taking on many jobs to make ends meet while heading to a community college to get a degree. She desired to be a Pokemon researcher and sent numerous applications to many of them before working under a professor in this region when she saw the opportunity. Everything was all a jumble with all sorts of beings and places that would've left him trying to understand yet focusing on finding what he was really after. Eventually, he sees her perspective on this and watches it play across the scene.

From what he was able to receive, she was here on a mission to study the wildlife in the area, and this was to be her last stop before returning home the following week for her next assignment. She had been on her way to the campsite when she felt a sudden tremor, and then the ground itself suddenly gave way, and she fell towards the bottom with no clue what was waiting for her.

Acnologia found that in all her years, she did seem to have some misfortunes of running into inevitable mishaps and wondered if it was some curse in place on her.

(Or maybe she finds herself in these situations since she's always alone on these expeditions.)

Seeing that, when she comes around, looking to find, she lands in a cavern and brings out her Pokemon to help her search for the nearest exit. Eventually, they came to where he had been, the hollowed-out room with his body laid on a slab, and her first thought was that this was some ancient shrine she had come across.

(Ah, finally, okay, now we're getting somewhere!) Though whatever happened seemed undisturbed until now, the young woman moved in closer to get a better look at him. He didn't need to see that she had been staring longingly at his face or what she had thought as she saw his sleeping visage, 'What a handsome fellow, he looks like he's a sleeping prince under a spell.'

He was glad she couldn't see his dumbstruck expression ('handsome! A sleeping prince, is she serious! his inner dragon was chortling and crackling like a madman, well mad dragon more like), but then how she was standing so near while her massive flame-colored beast (it's called an Arcanine, whatever that is...) refuse to come near his altar but still not let its guard down. But as soon as her hand was on him, she felt his pulse to see it was weak, and she was not sure how to make him come around. She had asked if he could hear him and tried to think how to get him up. The only idea to try, she thought, was giving him CPR in the hopes it would help jumpstart his system into waking up.

It took him a second to see that it was finished before finding that he was back in his conscious state and turning to her, "How did you do that?"

"Do what?" She blinked owlishly and wondered what had happened since she had no clue what he was talking about. Yet Acnologia was trying to grasp what he had learned, but the biggest question was how he got here?!

(What in all of Earthland is this?! How in the realm of magic had we gone from getting Ourselves eliminated to being now in a deep slumber here?)

Had those wretched brats decided to do this, no way impossible. Igneel's kid didn't seem to know any space-time magic besides what his sire taught him. It was really frustrating for someone like him to be left in the dark (Quite literally, since you were trapped in that unconscious state, his dragon side sneered as it couldn't believe it or their situation) on how he got from there to this world.

It was not outside the realm of such possibility for a specific type of magic to be used, yet it would've required a great deal of power to do so. Who would do something for him, and for what purpose?

"Ano, are you okay?" the dragonslayer blinked, returning to his present situation. He had to keep from snarking at her, as how could she assume he would be? However, one looked into those worried eyes and, seeing that her concerns were genuine, decided to hold back his sarcastic retort.

"I'm fine. It's just that I feel my body is kinda out of it right now." It's true his entire body was feeling like pins and needles, but figured that's what happens when you haven't moved in forever. Pin and needles, oh, that sensation of the tingling going through him after so long, made his whole body come to see he was definitely once more among the living.

It's true; his body was incredibly weakened, and even as he tried to sense his magic, he found that his core wasn't at its total capacity. Perhaps he needed substance to get them back up once more.

They found another way out that led them back to the forest, and seeing her campground wasn't that far away either. Acnologia was glad to breathe in the sweet night air, savoring it like the first drop of cool water after being in the Sahara for so long. Inhale, exhale, inhale. He could sense a certain uniqueness in the surroundings, the energy he was slowly drawing in to help him recharge his weakened form slowly. Being a dragon of magic was undoubtedly his most incredible feat. Still, the issue he saw was that he could no longer feel any of it flowing through. No, not true. It was still there, but he couldn't bring it to the surface, his body too weak to muster a fireball.

(Yeah, but look where it got you: beaten by Iggy's whelp and put into an accursed sleep in some unknown place with a girl who smells delectable sweet.)

Acnologia caught a whiff of her being so close to him. Well, actually, she was in front of him as they were sitting atop the Arcanine. She called it Arche, who helped find the exit and trotted to where their camp should be. The beast, who, despite his reluctance to carry him, still followed the orders of his master as he allowed Acnologia to climb onto his back with his master in tow. Riding felt odd to the dragonslayer, yet he found it wasn't so bad as he hated admitting he might've slowed them down given his weakened state and the need for assistance to be carried out.

Though he was taking in their surroundings, he saw a flock of strange creatures swooping over their heads, very unusual looking chiropteran with scorpion-like features calling out, "Gilgar! Gilgar!" as they glided away like flying squirrels. The dragonslayer couldn't help gapping as they flew away, unaware his arms had tightened around his companion until he heard them cry out and realized he was squeezing too hard.

(Heh, not too bad a waistline; she has some excellent bone structure there. Her body is very supple, and look at those strong hips, I bet she could give birth to several—)

Shut up. There's no need to talk about what perfect childbearing hips she's got! I don't want to hear about it!

Eventually, they reached her campsite, and she helped him get off and sit near the open fire while she got a first aid kit from her tent. Acnologia could see that Delia was diligent in what she was doing, judging from all her research material and data gathering lying about. He finds a spiral book next to his feet and picks it up to read the words "The Behavioral Patterns of Donphans and their Mating Rolls."

He sees a sketch on the other page depicting some strange elephant-like creature with plated armor. He takes in this odd beast, looking closely at its charcoal detail and thinking that he has never encountered anything like this in his own world. Was this another one of those creatures she called Pokemon? It was a lot to consider, yet he thought he would have plenty of opportunities to ask her these things later.

The dragon was still trying to wrap his head around everything even when she did her little examination and found her prognosis was that other than his stomach rumbling loudly, clearly indicating how he hadn't had anything for some (eons more like) time, he was still in good condition. The girl found to grab whatever was still in her preserves and, luckily for him, had some pre-cooked food that just needed some boiling water added to the mix. Acnologia took to eating whatever she had on her, the 'ra-man' whatever that was, didn't taste like a man, but it wasn't that bad, and quickly consumed about three bowls of that stuff in a single sitting.

"So, who are you anyway?" Even though he had gotten the information from her without her knowledge, he had to pretend he had no idea. The young woman faintly blushes and seeing she had, in all the excitement, forgotten to introduce herself to this person, "Oh, my name is Delia Ketchum,"

She knew that it must seem like it was crazy to just give one's name to some random stranger that you find in a place, yet she was always taught to be polite no matter what. (Foolish child, she's bound to get into more trouble if she doesn't stay aware!)

"...Admittingly, I was somewhat surprised by how I was just thinking I should try a different path today instead of the usual route because I had to avoid the rollout mating frenzy that was happening, or I would've gotten squashed. Who would guess I would find a hidden underground temple with a person inside? I mean, it was kinda out of the blue, don't you agree..."

Acnologia, seeing she was waiting for him to tell her his name, thought about what sort of reaction she'd give when he told her. Would there have been any mention of such in this world, or was it only back in Earthland, his tale of destruction, "Acnologia, it's Acnologia,"

"Acno-lo-gia, wow, that just rolls off the tongue. That's quite an impressive name you have." He saw she meant it and thought how no one ever said that to him in his face.

(Then again, being a monstrous being, it's not like they'd tell you what an epic name you have!)

"Thanks, and I think yours suits you as well." Now that introductions were out of the way, Acnologia thought to ask her a few other questions and see what she could tell him. Then, somewhere during the conversation, he brought up things like magic. She gave him a blank stare and said, "Are you talking about the moves like Magical Leaf or Magic Coat? I know there are all sorts you might say are of a magical variety as they're Pokemon moves. I mean, does that help Acno...?"

Seeing his astonished face, a sight that would've been hilarious if anyone saw him. For the first time, the dragonslayer was struck speechless. She can't be serious, but I can feel the mana in the air. How can she say there's no magic?!

(correction: she said something about Pokemon moves? But it looks like only those beings can use power, not humans?!)

That had thrown him into a stupor shock, thinking he was stuck in a realm with no magic, yet the energy around him seemed to be brimming with such powerful essence.

(Perhaps things here are different than in Earthland; we must gather more intel on this and determine our next step.)

Acnologia mentally agreed as he knew that he had to decide what to do, and though it seemed like he may have to rely on her for that assistance. It didn't take much convincing as Delia seemed to have no problem helping him out since her memories showed she was an able individual who liked to offer assistance to people and Pokemon alike, and sure, she'd do the same for him in this current situation of his.

(Though we can do fine if we're left to our own devices, it is better to have someone with resourceful knowledge give us a better understanding until then.)

And it wasn't because Acnologia was keenly interested in learning more about this person and why he wanted to be around them. Not that he would admit it, but nope, not in a million years.

Acnologia saw Delia was willing to let him join her and seeing that smile for some strange reason, felt a fluttering sensation in his stomach. Still, it could be because of all that 'Ra-man' he had just digested.

"I know it's quite a lot to take in, but don't worry. I'll show you that it's not all that scary and that we'll come through this together. I promise I won't ever leave you alone. I give you my absolute word on that."

Surprised by how sincere her conviction was, Acnologia realized she meant it from the bottom of her heart and found it was always there to keep him company as they traveled together from this area. He found that as soon as he was sure that he obtained enough knowledge on this place, they'd part ways when the time was right.

He tells himself this after three weeks, which turn into six, then nine. Eventually, he finds out it has been about five months since they started journeying together and visiting all the world's different continents.

It was hard to keep his steely demeanor around her since she had this capability that made it easy to soften in her company. That warmth she gave slowly chipped and melted away at his icy exterior, and feeling his heart regain life to appreciate the most minor things around him.

The more time he spent around her, the more Acnologia could smile and laugh. He found it wasn't forced but actually genuine because it was her who brought them out of him. Looking at everything with a whole new perspective, seeing how the people and the creatures, Pokemon they were called, got along in each place they visited together on their journey. Then, when a particular event was happening, whether a battle tournament or contest, Acnologia was among the spectators, watching in awe at the incredible feats when people brought out their Pokemon and witnessing them coordinate their partner's attack and strategize them towards victory. Even if Delia said that magic wasn't here, the dragonslayer still thought there had to be an abundance of mana but noticed it seemed to reside inside these creatures. To see how they could use them of their own will and how they were used, he always found there was still so much he had to learn after every experience. Thankfully, he was lucky to have such a brilliant, budding researcher who was happy to answer all his questions and explain them thoroughly.

It was fascinating how they used them in their daily manners and learned that they lived in unity with little discord thrown in, but still..."In unanimous harmony." After almost a year of traveling, he felt his perspective on everything slowly changed. And it's all thanks to one person.

Somehow, Acnologia came to a realization that took him entirely by surprise. He had long thought himself incapable of ever loving anyone ever again. Yet being around her had thawed it the more he spent time with her, taking in everything she did and finding himself entranced by how she took in the creatures and making small notes or doodles in her journal, listening as she explained to him even though his senses could pick up their behavior but like hearing the sound of her voice.

This gradually grew the more he spent time in her company. Eventually, he realized what he was feeling was something he thought incapable of but now found it here with this woman by his side.

He had made up his mind and would see it through. They were lying on a grassy knoll side by side, enjoying the night serenade of the Kricketune in the area while smelling the sweet perfume the Roselia released into the air. It indeed was remarkable. He saw that Delia was gazing up at the sky with a smile on her face. "Isn't it amazing out here, Ace?"

The dragonslayer agreed, though for a different reason, "Yes, it certainly is." He saw a stray blade of grass caught in her hair, reached out to pluck it free, and moved to push the lock behind her ear. But as he was about to, she turned slightly and saw them look one another in the eye. It was hard not to find his face reflecting back at him, being drawn into those soulful orbs that felt like they could easily ensnare him if he dared stare too long yet couldn't pull away.

Even now, how he sees her makes him think that no other woman could hold a candle like Delia.

There was no mistaking the feeling that he sensed was happening between them, that strong pull of finding that one who makes you feel alive. Who gives your life purpose and wants to stay by their side more than anything. He swallowed, finding it difficult to articulate his words, but spoke carefully, "Lia, would you allow me to ask you something?"

She said nothing but clearly indicated that he should go ahead. Okay, this was It. Here goes.

"I know this may sound sudden, but I have to say that I have thought long and hard and was wondering if you would allow me the honor of courting you?" Delia blink. "You mean you want me to be your girlfriend?" She saw his expression was unfazed, yet being around him so long, she knew he was being serious about it. Delia admitted that there was so much he hadn't told her about himself, things he kept close to his chest, but thinking that being around him, she had already found herself falling for him and thinking he'd eventually tell her when the time was right. But now he was waiting for her answer and saw that she had already decided what to say if this ever came up.

"You know I was about to ask you the same thing, but you beat me to it." Delia moved to bring herself closer to him and then saw the stars as their heavenly witness as two people moved to share a kiss under the twilight.

(See told ya! Why, you just could've done so in the first place! You should have just cut to the chase and say wanna be my mate and then just show her how—)

But Acnologia ignored him as he was too focused on the kiss, relishing in its sweet taste since it's been forever since he had another's lips on his and wanting to savor this for as long as possible.

"Look, Ace, a shooting star!" The dragonslayer looked to the sky, seeing it was indeed lit up with shooting comets. Then, as Delia stood up, her hands grasped together and held it to her face.

"Please, Jirachi, if you can hear me up there, please grant my wish for Ace to have nothing but endless happiness in this world." She whispered this softly, yet his sharpened ears picked up what she said.

Acnologia knew she was that kind of person. This beautiful, gentle soul cared more for others than herself, and hearing her make such a wish for his sake despite never once feeling that need and having closed his heart towards everything.

Until now...

Happiness huh? Was that maybe why he was brought here in the first place? Did he deserve to have that opportunity after all he had done, the lives he ruined for selfish reasons? He would've thought that impossible but then looked to his side, seeing that the young woman firmly wanted that wish granted for his sake.

When Delia turned to him and saw her gaze focus on him, his chest felt the intense beating it gave and took it as a sign. Perhaps, yes, this was meant to be...

Watching from the other side was Delia's Arcanine. The large canine Pokemon didn't show any qualms since he got used to his presence and the fact he had been teaching him a couple of new moves that did make him unlock his potential. If his master's happy sighs were any clear indication, it meant she now had her man and was glad they were both happy. The trio remained there watching the stars, thinking what the future might hold for them, but sure of one thing: they were all in this together.

The dragonslayer eventually returned to the present and thought of that old saying: when one door closes, another opens to a promising future. In this case, his being transported to this new realm had a tremendous impact on him, giving him something he had never expected for someone like him to receive. It almost feels too good to be true. Sometimes, he worried that this was all a dream, that it was all in his head, yet waking up each morning to see her serene face next to his made it all the more clear that this was his reality.

Now that he was the only dragonslayer here and starting over from scratch, there was no need to dwell on that part of his former life anymore. His thoughts were now more rational, and he could think more clearly with a cool head on his shoulders. For the first time in forever, Acnolognia felt like he had found his mind clear of all the negativity he had let consume him. All that burning desire of wanting to kill, destroy, and eradicate the dragons is now gone, and even if there were such draconian creatures, he didn't find himself wanting to harm them. Delia showed him that the bond between them and these Pokemon was remarkable, seeing with his own eyes that there can be a genuine connection forged if you give enough time and patience to get along and see how wonderful they can be at your side. Acnologia could tell she loved what she did, saw the mutual feeling for all those she encountered, and knew her heart was never harboring dark intentions for these beings, unlike others with selfish needs. She was too pure a soul to taint and knew it showed in her given character.

If I had been a Pokemon, I'd gladly let her capture me, now wouldn't that be something priceless. The dragonslayer being caught by Delia and sure he could take out whatever opponent tried to mess with her. That put a smile on his face just imagining that.

(Ugh, you're such a sap. I missed when you were all high and mighty, showing everyone who's boss, but now look at you—)

Acnologia thought that he didn't care so much about that. He never expected that he'd let go of all that hatred he had harbored and come to terms with accepting himself as he was, especially for her, who became his one and everything. Feeling more at peace within himself by releasing all the tension he had harbored for all these centuries, like a significant weight had been lifted, he felt human again. All because of the young woman who became his sole companion and keeper of his heart.

Delia had finished her internship and became a part-time aide at a nearby research facility. At the same time, the two lived together in the same complex building as boyfriend and girlfriend. Acnologia saw the dating as similar to how they were while traveling together. However, now he has put more planning and effort into showing his beloved his desires for her. Learning the importance of specific days and anniversaries since, according to some, a woman never forgives if you don't do something to show you care.

Less you preferred to sleep on a couch till their anger wanes. Acnologia had that happen once and swore never to do anything to upset his Precious Delia, lest he deserved it.

(Why did she have to get so worked up over some ice cream when there's another one in the ice chest that's just as good?)

Acnologia figure dragons didn't get why humans, especially women when their monthly cycles come into play, needed the sole comfort of a particular food and seeing how she was looking for that chocolate heavenly devotion in the freezer but found the empty carton in the trash and the way she looked at him then…Acnologia shuddered. Yeah, I never want that to happen again; nope, no thanks!

Seeing that their relationship had progressed well, there came one other problem, which Acnologia realized might be a slight issue. He was not ignorant about having intimacy with another woman before he became a dragonslayer and then afterward didn't give in to such temptation since they'd most likely get in the way of his plans and only focus on what he deem as more important to him than carnal pleasure. But now that he had found a partner and his inner dragon had been egging him for quite some time to mark her since he found her to be what he desired as a mate. Any males he saw near Delia had made his hackles rise, and he found his urges to burn them to a smoldering crisp but chose to glower at them till they ran with their tails between their legs.

My Delia, mine! But reminding himself this wasn't Earthland, Delia wouldn't be all too familiar with his kind's courtship, but he could hear the gnashing of his inner beast telling him to do so and mate with her! It had been the most trying for him to keep his impulse under control, the fact that his mind kept bringing up images of Delia naked and how she'd look under him, panting and moaning while he was on top of her, mounting and bucking into her with all the intention of seeing her being dominated by his prowess and having her taut belly swollen with only his seed.

Acnologia knew that the problem wouldn't just go away on its own. He could tell his girlfriend was wondering what the matter was every time he made a sudden excuse when their session got too heavy and found his body undergoing a transformation with his nails lengthened and the sharpness of his canines elongated in his mouth.

Finding that his body's reaction was making it difficult to keep under control, and knew sooner or later the impulses were going to force him into doing something that could hurt Delia and severely damage their relationship.

In the end he decided to come clean and tell her right around their six month anniversary. At that time he had try to not let his worse fears come over him, seeing that he couldn't back down as he thought what was best for both of them and tell her who he really was. He imagines all kinds of scenarios on how it would go down, some being more of her outright rejecting him or others her looking to him in revulsion and fear. Yet after all that planning and seeing to have them sitting in their apartment with him mentally preparing himself as he starts to tell her his origin story. He had not guessed he'd unpack everything all in one sitting yet by the time he finished the sun had long gone down and seeing they were sitting in the darkness. While he was sure of her skepticism but then taking further to reveal his true self by partial transforming and letting her take a good look at his new features.

"I know I may look different on the outside and everything I said, I know that you must think of me as a sort of horrible person…" But what he didn't think was that Delia had obviously taken everything he said, so silent yet clearly seeing her move slowly to reach him out as she grabbed the talon claw with hers and gave it a gentle squeeze.

She stared at him before saying in a calm manner that was clear and concise, "I always knew there was something about you that stood out. I mean, we did meet under unusual circumstances if you recall, and seeing that in this world, we have come across many phenomena that don't make me see you as any less what you are."

She had moved to stand before him with one hand reaching out to touch his scaly snout and holding it gently, feeling that pleasant sensation running through him, "But after getting to know you, and even while you're like this, I still see you as the man I fell in love with and nothing will ever change that."

That was what he truly loved about her: her never-back-down attitude and firm conviction in him, and her heart would never turn away from him, even when facing him in his behemoth form and staring him directly in the eyes without hesitation.

"Side it was almost as if it was meant to be: like out of a fairytale where the prince finds the princess trapped under an enchantment and rescues her, only I guess I'm princess charming and you're the..."

(Ugh, not this again! I'm no sleeping beauty. In fact, I should be the bold, daring dragon that everyone trembles at the sight of! Seriously get it right would ya?!)

But the half transformed Acnologia wasn't paying any attention, not when he was pulling Delia to him and finding himself embracing her and whispering in her ear, "Lia, thank you." Thank you for being the kind of person you are that is always willing to be there for me, even when I'm like this. He never imagined being fortunate enough to find a soulmate willing to accept all his flaws. He knew he couldn't ask for a better partner in his life.

"I'm probably the luckiest son of a dragon, huh? Who would have guessed my life would turn out like this." If anyone before had said this to his face, he'd laugh. Laughing maniacally while destroying them for putting such a ridiculous notion out there. Well, joke on Me then. He stared at the gold band on his ring finger that shimmered with a bright glow, though plain and simple, yet thinking of their nuptials that had them register their marriage license at city hall. He was still shocked that marriage could be quickly done without all the necessary preparation that goes into it. But even in that simple dress and a small bouquet of flowers, she was the most gorgeous bride he had ever seen. "I don't care to have a wedding that's small or even one as extravagant as royalty or a three-ring circus; as long as I'm with you, I'll be the happiest woman alive."

That was the best moment he had ever experienced in his life. It's been three years, two since they tied the knot. Seeing their apartment had photos of them lined every inch of the walls and any place they could, and seeing one of Acnologia's favorites was them this year alone sitting proudly on the dragonslayer's nightstand. In the photo, he wrapped his arm around Delia's tiny waist and saw the smile gracing her features. If one looked closely, they also would see something else to her indicating what made this picture so very special.

Acnolognia vaguely recalls his day of birth after so many decades, and Delia decides to mark it on when she found him; he agrees since he thought it was only because of her and her sweet kiss that woke him from that eternal slumber and was reborn again as a new man.

The day had started with them having a quick romp in bed as he never got enough of how delectable his lovely bride was and not that she was complaining. And since it was his birthday, didn't he deserve a special breakfast treat?

Later, around two that very afternoon, they headed for the boardwalk and had a good time checking out the tiny shops that lined it and enjoying a simple lunch that gave them an ample view of the ocean before eventually heading towards the beach, where they ran frolicking through the waves that came to drench them in salt water.

Delia had told him earlier that she had a special surprise waiting for him when they finished lunch and were alone. He couldn't help wondering what his precious love had that could improve this day after getting soaked by the sea and sitting in the sand to watch the sunset. She was leaning her body into him, and he bent to kiss her head, his nostrils inhaling her wondrous perfume when something else caught his attention.

Thanks to her lotion and the seawater drying on their skin, it was barely noticeable, yet the source of it was coming from her belly. The distinct mesh of hers and his combined into one. Which could only possibly be... (Mavis, is that what I think it is!)

Seeing the dragonslayer eventually figured it out as her hand moved to line his on her belly. "Happy birthday, my darling; this is my gift to you."

She confessed how the day before yesterday, she had gotten a call from the gynecologist after getting her test results back and learned she was four weeks pregnant. Saying she had been overjoyed was an understatement since she only wanted to tell him immediately after her appointment. "But then I thought to myself, 'Wouldn't it be the perfect present to give someone you love?' sorry, you have to wait nine months for it to come, but you know I wanted you to have only the best for your big day."

Acnologia was at a loss at what to say as he looked down at her and saw her eyes on him, "Really, Lia, you truly are serious?" His wife nods as she leans into her dragon husband's chest, "Absolutely. You have a mini you inside me. You're going to be a papa, my love."

Papa, him? Hearing those words definitely seemed to make the dragonslayer find himself bursting with joy as he suddenly stood up, lifting her in the air and swinging her around, laughing as he did. He had held her so tight yet not too strong in fear he might hurt her in her delicate condition. Acnologia was shedding tears for the first time in centuries. Yet, they were happy ones…a family he never imagined having until now.

It had truly made him feel more alive than ever, "And I wouldn't go trading this for anything else." He heard the sliding door open and then the clinking sound of ice as the liquid poured into his empty glass on the small end table. He slowly turned around to gaze up at the beaming smile on the face of that beautiful woman who stood behind him. She wore a lavender chiffon dress with a white ribbon plaited through her hair and hanging over her right shoulder.

Delia saw to hand him the freshly squeezed pinap juice while standing next to him to look out towards the sea. "It is certainly hot today, and I am amazed that you can easily stand out here without breaking a sweat." Her husband gives her a cheeky grin, and she sees him move towards her, "Well, I guess because dragons don't really need to, yet there are other ways I could, but I do think that can wait till much later."

He lifts the tip of her braid and quickly kisses it, focusing solely on her. He could hear her heartbeat quickening as she felt his imploring gaze lingering on her. Acnologia could read her easily like an open book, and Delia found her own urges rising yet thought to hold back on them. Much as they would love to go and enjoy a more pleasant afternoon snack yet, given that the doctors told them to hold back on the sex and seeing that Acnologia would do so since it wouldn't be right on their baby mama with this strenuous activity.

Still, what a shame because Lia looked ravishing today, and I could eat her up. She was a sight to behold, and seeing that radiant halo around her seemed centered on her protruding belly that pushed against her garb. He moves to draw her in, his hand resting on the small of her back while seeking to capture her mouth with his. It was hard to control their impulses, but eventually, Delia was the first to break the kiss. Her cheeks flushed and her lips swollen, yet try to calm herself, but it was hard when your husband had the means to make you want to forget all else.

"Lunch will be ready in just a moment. We should go inside; it's way too hot now."

"As you wish, my princess." He followed her in and helped with the last-minute preparation of the Double-deep dish pizza pot pie, with all the work coming out nice and smelling quite delicious. He even swore his inner consciousness was drooling when he saw it set out on the table

Acnologia watched as his wife (mate! his dragon's side rumbled in the back of his head) was gently humming to herself while cooking up a light (ha, it's a feast worthy of a king and oh our absolute favorite) meal for just the two (well three with the hatchling included) of them. The spread was plentiful since Acnologia's appetite was massive for a dragon's stomach, and Delia had developed eating more in the following weeks for the child. She often nibbled snacks between meals and saw how she didn't go overboard even though she knew the baby most likely inherited her father's voracious appetite. Of course, having her strange craving that came with the territory and seeing her baby's hunger for a particular food wouldn't exactly count as usual.

After Delia's last check-up, the doctor showed some high levels of concern and heard the young woman admitting she procured meat on the redder side instead of thoroughly cooking it as required. Though they saw there was nothing wrong so far, they still gave her a warning to not do that anymore, on account that it was still prone to lead to miscarrying even if she somewhat desired raw meat. It's too bad he didn't understand why since the baby found the taste to be its liking and knew its sire also tended to eat undercooked food if he felt peckish. Yet since Acnologia was once a healer and thought only about what was best for the baby and Delia's sake, he ensured that all her food was adequately cared for and gave only sustenances recommended by the nutritionist.

Acnologia ensured she had plenty of nourishment provided for her diet and the other foods she'd need since it started developing over the past few months. Their child's magic had shown significant development when he did his own personal evaluation to tell the baby was doing well, and seeing that infusing his magic into the womb helped with her steady growth.

He felt it necessary to ensure both mother and child had plenty of mana since the hospitals wouldn't have the right tools to generate magic for newborns in this dimension. Acnologia, from his time as a healer, knew that sometimes problems can occur if the mother doesn't have enough to care for during and after the delivery. It was why he was giving her these weekly transfusions to stabilize her body with the embryo in the months leading up to now. So far, it looked like they would do fine. However, he still did this for the sake of his own mind to double-check how the baby was faring and seeing the magic gradually pumping its way throughout her tiny body as anticipated.

I have to do everything I can to make sure my Lia and our baby are safe. Arceus, I'll even do the delivery myself if I must!

(Right, it's not like you're not doing it because you don't want any other male looking between her legs and catching our hatchling when she comes out!)

Delia was unaware of her husband's internal discussion since she was still relishing the food and thought the baby liked it. Pizza pot pie always tastes good with hot fudge and chili peppers added. Thankfully, Acnologia's side didn't come with the additional condiments since he felt a little green just looking at what sort of toppings she placed on hers.

Delia was sure her baby would be born sometime soon this month, as the doctors did say she'd be due this summer, and given that, she looked just about ready to pop any second with how big she was. Also, she couldn't wait to have them come out so that the baby didn't constantly use her gallbladder as a trampoline or that she often seemed to find ways to keep her up late at night with her continually moving around in there.

My little dragon is so worked up nowadays; I bet you hope to see your mummy and daddy, huh? The feeling was mutual since the two adults were anxiously waiting for her arrival and thinking of how their lives would never be the same again. I wonder how the world will handle having a dragonslayer, much less two.

Delia glanced at her husband across the table and thought she never imagined her luck would turn out like this. She remembered that fateful encounter back at the underground shrine and seeing he had been like no one she ever knew, much less realizing he wasn't of this world. It was clear he would need someone to help him along the way, and Delia never regretted having him join her on her expeditions. Watching as he took everything in and saw the dragonslayer being enthralled by all the sights and wonders that were around them, his eyes lighting up like how she imagined someone who first laid eyes on a new Pokemon or saw the competition igniting with such fire that it makes one rise out and roar in anticipation. Acnologia immensely enjoyed those, finding he would cheer and yell at the two contenders. He did not care which was winning but encouraged them to do their best for not wanting it to be over so soon. He liked it, so Delia made sure they visited those events whenever they were in a particular location, just for him to watch in shock and awe.

She was aware that while he got to know everything from her end, he barely opened up about himself, yet Delia thought it was not the right time. People have their own run-of-the-mill secrets that they don't like sharing with outsiders, and even after finally getting together and seeing he still kept a tight lid on his past and thought it must be really something to not speak of any of this to her. Not even his own birth or home that he once was a part of. An average person might have gotten fed up and walked away. Yet, Delia felt that with Acnologia, he needed time to make that choice, and when that was right, she'd be there waiting to listen.

Eventually, her efforts paid off, as Acnologia finally came clean about himself. Delia sat next to him, hearing every detail of his life, not one thing left out. Even though it had been a few hours, it felt a lot longer since he brought to life his own tale of being this infinite being who could transform into a terrifying dragon at will and use what he called lost magic from an ancient time in another realm of his. Seeing him show off his abilities and of course, being startled when suddenly black scales appeared halfway down his face, and the extended talons on his transformed hand made her see he was telling the truth, which she never doubted for one second.

Delia had taken her time to look at him, seeing even underneath that scaly exterior was still the man she had fallen for all this time. Even if his past had been quite disturbing, she thought she could understand why he went so far.

Even when he had let himself become this rampaging monster, it wasn't like he hadn't felt some sort of agony in all that suffering. Monsters aren't born; they are created through one's own actions, and seeing that Acnologia had come to see what he had caused and now the immense guilt came to rest on him as he unleashed it all out, seeing the poor soul now in front of her who saw he was undeserving of her love. But Delia didn't think so. It hadn't changed what her heart had long come to terms with, bringing herself to go and hold him to her, letting him know it was okay and embracing him tightly so he could see she was there for him no matter what.

Delia saw the relief settle in his eyes and then saw him resume his human form once more, but she kept a firm hold over his hands, feeling those scales on her palm, so cool and smooth, yet couldn't help finding herself amazed by what she just learned. She always assumed she would catch a glimpse of a legendary Pokemon, yet here was a person called the king of dragons from another dimension! It certainly blew her expectations outta the water.

She had so many questions, and Acnolognia gladly answered each and every one of them. It was genuinely mind-opening to know there were so many different varieties of magic, and thanks to being four hundred (four hundred really, but you don't look a day over thirty!) years of witnessing all kinds used back there.

She learned that as a slayer, they needed to absorb their set element to retain power. However, she saw how Acnologia had amassed quite a lot over the centuries and could take any to recover his own. His ability went beyond others as he could nullify and absorb all types, and having later tested it out by having her Pokemon use an attack or two, she saw he still retained that even here. Delia saw to catalog everything down and wanted to try out other means to see how he felt about them since this was definitely a new breakthrough on such an amazing discovery of hers. That's how he came across a particular set of stones used to power up or evolve a Pokemon to their following evolutionary form.

Out of curiosity, he took a small bite and felt the powerful energy absorbed into his body. A shocking yet truly unique discovery for them, hence why their cabinets had a large stockpile of evolutionary rocks for him if he ever needed a recharge or even as a snack, which he did find to enjoy nibbling on in his spare time. He somehow found himself addicted to them, and even Delia jokingly called it his rock candy.

Not that he cared, as he wasn't much of a sweet tooth, but he found them delicious in this case. He had jars labeled with the ground-up rock particles he used to season his food. Even Delia had felt like tasting them herself when her craving started and now seeing why Acnologia was so into them.

They were super delicious! Acnologia suddenly found his elemental supply being depleted and realized that it must be the baby hankering for these particular ones this month.

Delia saw he didn't mind sharing since the baby's hereditary magic was in that developing stage, and he wanted her to have a fully stabilized core before she was born. It made her happy thinking about how her baby would be born with such a promising gift and certain Acnologia would teach her all sorts of things when she got older. Delia moved to grab one more piece from the pan, only to see that there was none left. Oh, it looks like they finished lunch. It's good that she made a special treat today and was already cooling by the window. It should be done by now.

Acnologia, seeing that Delia did all the cooking, went to clear the table and washed and dried the dishes before putting them aside and back in their proper place in the panty. He saw the Oran pie that was recently prepared and went to bring that along with some Vanillite ice cream and two small plates back to the table. Acnologia saw to cut the slices for the two, her being larger and then took a small bite from his plate. He took his sweet time to let his taste buds decipher what she put in it because he liked to guess what was in her cooking. Delia always had a way of surprising him with her special homemade treats.

Letting that sit on his tongue for a few seconds and then taking a stab at what he could tell was in the mix, "Oh, did you mix some thunder with a little moonstones and a pinch of sunstone to this? They taste absolutely scrumptious!" Delia was quite the ingenious chef when she decided to spice up their meals by adding the stone particles into their food and seeing how they made a big difference when eaten. This had been quite the discovery for the dragonslayer as he again thought how an evolutionary stone could be just as delicious as the actual elements themselves but had some more delicacy when put inside a tasty dish like this.

Delia was pleased to hear his compliments since she made such efforts to make this for all of them to enjoy. "I'm glad you like it. It took me a while to get the right amount before I put this in, and our baby was glad to help mummy taste test her food and see which ones she liked the most." She had worked hard to find that perfect blend of sweetness with a bit of spice that had been her latest craving the past few days and was happy to see she got it right. She jotted down notes on her past few experiments to know which were her best, and her husband happily did the taste testing and gave her his critique. Finding she had come up with so many delicious recipes, she wrote them down and held onto them for future uses. It would be a good idea since one day their daughter might need it someday when she's older, and finding Delia's homemade recipes would be a fountain of knowledge to pass on to their family.

The dragonslayer could see how much it meant to her to see them appreciate her cooking, knowing she went to the effort of making it, especially for him and their child, who both require a certain substance to their diet, and that she did an amazing job whipping up these dishes just for their sake. Arceus how I love this woman!

"Let me know if you need anything else, love." He watched as his mate ate her fill, seeing she took a third helping before she felt stuffed and couldn't eat another bite. As soon as she leaned back with her hands resting on her tummy, she felt well satisfied, but then she sensed her husband coming around to get behind her and set his hands on her shoulders. Delia could already feel the warmth radiating from his palms as he started to channel his magic into her, helping to ease the digestion of her food and giving the baby the extra boost at the same time.

Ah, that was good; she enjoyed that a lot, as Delia liked the sensation that washed over her when his mana filtered through her whole body. Whether it was him touching hands, their lips, or even after a bout of lovemaking, that incredible euphoria just seemed to cocoon her in a protective blanket. It also might explain how her pregnancy hadn't been as bad as others since the magic helped deal with the more troublesome ones like morning sickness or swollen ankles. Yes, magic certainly comes in handy to take care of those pesky symptoms.

"Oh, that feels so good." He was practically spoiling her, but he didn't mind pampering her as she carried their precious cargo and deserved all the love and affection he could give them. Yes this was the best—

Delia suddenly gasped and grabbed her belly, feeling that strong kick once more before it settled down. Acnologia's reaction had him immediately bending down, checking her over, and questioning if it was time, "How far is the contraction? Does it hurt? Let me get your shoes and—" Already he was about to rush out to go get her sandals when Delia stopped him.

"Oh honey, calm down, it wasn't that. The baby was just so excited because she just likes her daddy's magic, and that's her way of saying, 'Thank you, papa, for the delicious treat.'"

It wasn't unusual to be born later than what they estimated. Yet, they told them that if, by the end of the second week, and the baby still did not show signs of wanting out, they might have to bring Delia to the hospital and induce labor to get her out safely. Acnologia had been on the edge of his seat yet tried to keep calm around her, knowing he couldn't stress her out with his own concerns. He knew how different their teaching methods were from his era and had advanced far in medicine to ensure everything would go well. But even still, he couldn't let go of those fears gnawing at the back of his mind.

He was aware that so many things could happen during child labor and that it wasn't only the baby at risk; Delia was also involved as she would be doing all this herself and sure to be in a very delicate position that could have complex problems if not handled properly.

Still though—suddenly he felt a hand touching his and looked down to see his mate gazing up at him. She must've noticed the troubled look on his face and was reaching out to console him.

"Ace, it will be alright; I promise everything will be okay. That I know our child will be here with us very soon, and when that happens, I want you to be the one to give them their name."

She wanted to assure him that all would be fine and certain that they would be looking back at this and laughing at how silly they were acting. "It's gonna be fine, you'll see."

Her words did put his worries to rest, seeing she was right. He admits his fears did stem from worrying about his own self worth as a father. Delia was aware he always longed for a family to call his own but never got the chance because of all that happened in his past. He had thought that dream would only be impossible until Delia came into his life and saw to bring an extra package for just the likes of him. Finding that her wish for his happiness seems to come true, Acnologia thanked every entity in this world for granting them this special blessing.

Acnologia made sure everything went accordingly for her ongoing pregnancy, buying up every book on the shelves that talked of how to handle raising a baby and seeing the towering stack of recently published information with the dragonslayer sitting with three books out, reading them with rapid speed and taking notes down on what he thought was important. He took it as his primary responsibility to ensure their child was well cared for and that he got all the listed necessities. The second room had been already modified as a nursery, and all the furniture and baby goods were assembled to cater to their little one. Though he had been going about readjusting furniture or thought maybe the baby would like this or be more into that, and so on and so forth. Finding out the gender would be a little girl and watching as the Dragonslayer painted the room in various pastel colors that would be perfect for their princess.

Even in the weeks leading up to the present, the mighty dragon was a bundle of nerves as he checked over hers constantly, fretting and being sure if Delia was still good. The mother-to-be thought it both amusing and exasperated of her beloved to go so far over her wellbeing and find that he was putting too much onto it, even though admittedly it was sweet when that one time the elevator was broken and he decided to carry her down those stairs instead, so she didn't have to exert herself while letting her enjoy the superb comfort of being in those big strong arms and feeling that firm chest pressing her to it.

Acnologia knew that while most of the bills were paid thanks to her job but seeing he didn't want her to take on all that burden and see he found work that was something he was capable of handling and was of high paying end. She was aware he still retained his medical knowledge and would probably be a great help as a doctor to either the hospital or even at a Pokemon Center, but that required him going to night school and seeing that he didn't have a high school degree or show any qualification that could raise suspicions if they try to dig deeper and see there were no records to him at all. So thankfully Delia found to come up with a way so he could earn a GED degree online and that since he took to using magic to manage most of his load and that he was doing quite well in his ongoing progress. Magic was quite the handy tool to give him that extra push and knew he was determined to do well as both a husband and father to their small family.

Sometimes Delia worried he was taking too much, but the dragon laughed, saying it was nothing to him.

"I may be over four hundred years old yet my body is still in its best prime so doing these manual tasks barely makes me winded in the slightest and see we have enough expenses to take care of our family. Our child's future is important and I want them to see we have plenty to keep us afloat for years to come and still have some left to spare for all our other needs down the road. I only want what's best for us and I will make sure that nothing happens to you or our family while I'm with you."

His words held strong conviction knowing he was seeking to put everything into getting what he thought was necessary and Delia was aware he was determined to see that through.

"Besides, all that excessive labor helps me work off the delicious food you make and keeps my muscles well intact, I mean have you ever seen a chubby dragonslayer? Trust me, you don't want that?" That made her chuckle, thinking that it would be a sight to behold and seeing it did the trick to make her concern disappear. Their life savings were stable at the moment but the dragonslayer was thinking that their apartment might be a bit cramped when the baby arrived and promised to find a more prominent place for them later on.

"Our child will need space to run and roam, a backyard big enough for her to play in." He wanted the home to suit their every need and, while internally debating if having one with a pool should be considered yet, decided against it at the moment. He had retailers give him pamphlets and let Delia see which she liked the best and seeing to find it most suited to their ideal home.

But for now he just was going to set that aside and focus on seeing his child come into this world and pray she would just make that momentary leap to get here prompt and not let her dear papa worry so much.

All this stress is bound to make me lose my mind. (Um hello, that's a little too late since we already made that clear that you've been certificated as insane the moment we came into existence.)

The dragonslayer suppressed the urge to groan hearing that coming from his inner conscious who just knew how to irk him at times. Sometimes Acnologia really hates how that little voice in his head seems to always be right on the mark, though at least Delia seems to love this crazy dragonslayer enough to endure him.

Ah well hopefully things will be mellow when the baby shows up then he can just let all this go away and focus on what was most important to them.

It seem like maybe the Pokemon god(s) heard his plea as sometime later as they were lying in bed, the dragonslayer sleeping with his arm wrapped around her and suddenly he felt something warm and wet seeping into his side. He open his eyes sluggishly and moved to feel it definitely was damp underneath the sheets.

"Lia, did you wet the bed again? It's okay, I'll take care of this." It wasn't unusual for her bladder to give since this was probably the fifth time it happened and not being annoyed at having to change them since it wasn't her fault that she couldn't hold it in long enough to use the bathroom. Delia was slowly waking and seeing as her husband was already heading towards the linen closet to get clean sheets but then seeing as her next words gave pause and that the dragonslayer feeling as though was doused in ice cold water from head to toe.

"Um Ace, I don't know how I should really put this, but I think it's time." Delia sees him standing frozen with the blankets in his hand and then as if in a blink of an eye, suddenly finds herself being lifted from the bed, his strong arms gently cradling her but realizing were exiting the apartment and zipping out of the building at breakneck speed. The hospital was about an hour drive but Acnologia thought that he could sense the baby was eager to come much sooner and using his dragon force to propel them faster, knowing had anyone notice a sudden streak bolting by but think was a Pokemon on the prowl.

Yet all that was on his mind was, 'It's time, the baby is coming!'

She tried to ignore the wind pushing up against her face and hair flying all over and Delia had tried to tell him to slow down but then the contraction came and she felt it was getting more frequent every few minutes. Okay never mind, put the metal to the petal and hurry your butt to the hospital pronto!

They must've been quite a sight when they entered the lobby, having the patients and nurse on staff who saw a frazzled half naked man holding a heavily pregnant woman and marching up to the desk with wild hair and eyes wide telling her to get his wife into the delivery room, "GET DELIA IN NOW ON THE DOUBLE!"

He knew his magic was going rampant and seeing everyone was backing away yet the doctors who realize the woman breathing heavily and gripping her stomach as they saw to put their professional game faces on and immediately see to have someone help get her set. Acnologia had to calm down to let the orderlies help put her on the stretcher, while answering the doctor's questions on how far her contractions were and also seeing that they got all her medical information that was on the file. Finding that they were having everything under control and even as he wanted to go with her, the doctors seeing him still a little on edge and thought it best he stay out of the operating room.

"Don't worry, love, everything will be fine, I promise," Delia said to him before she was wheeled away, seeing that she was assuring him that all would be well and knew she would keep her word to her beloved dragon. The ancient mage gave her one last kiss to her brow, pushing just a smidge of mana just for luck and watching her be taken to one of the delivery rooms. He was led to where a waiting room was arranged for all expecting fathers and seeing a few there and obviously shared his sentiment on the whole waiting game. The dragonslayer made to silently nod but didn't choose to go make small talk with these people as he moved to take one of the available chairs near the window. He was sure everything would go well, that he shouldn't worry anymore but still it was like he couldn't help how his own thoughts constantly were at a war in thinking something would go wrong.

No I mustn't think this way, everything will be all right, just breath Ace, just take deep breaths. Inhale, exhale, inhale, ex-Arecus! He bit the inside of his cheek and tasted the familiar copper on his tongue. Blood that was making his teeth clench and lengthen till they were pointy and serrated.

"Chansey, Chansey!" Acnologia blinked as he found the caretaking Pokemon was next to him and obviously was using her ability to help ease his frantic nerves. A sigh of relief escaped him, seeing how close that was just then.

"Thank you, Chansey." He felt the calming effect from the Pokemon as he knew his magic was starting to surface. His markings illuminated under his sleeves, but now that he took to rein his power in, they stopped.

The dragon in him was growing restless, as it had been over four and a half hours since Delia was brought in and still no sign of any word on her progress.

(What could be taking so longIt's normal for mothers to go into labor that lasts for hours. You should be in there with your mate, not waiting out here like a pansy!)

You think I don't know that?! It took everything not to go storming in when the doctors were working on her, but since they were the professionals and he was just a worried father who wanted to be by his wife's side.

He couldn't let himself lose control, not when he was in a room full of other people. He mustn't, for Delia's sake. His impulses to go in and see her were getting stronger.

He had to take a moment to collect his thoughts and meditate, to keep the dragon within from losing its mind, feeling its strong urge to be with his mate and see their hatchling safe and sound.

If anyone is out there listening, please keep my (our) Delia and child (Hatchling) safe.

Acnologia had no idea how long he remained in this position; it felt like eons, but then, he felt a hand on his shoulders, and his immediate reaction was to grab them and see the startled eyes of the nurse next to him.

"Um, sir, Mr. Ketchum." The nurse could've sworn his eyes were glowing but put it off to imagining it after working an eight-hour shift and being high on caffeine at that moment. Acnologia looked around and saw the clock on the wall saying it was half past eleven.

They were here at three this morning, and now it has been over eight hours! Seeing the nurse there and not the doctor he was expecting. "Yes, what happened? Is Delia okay? What about the baby?!"

The nurse saw him rapidly shooting questions and found herself trying to answer without feeling intimidated by the towering figure. Thankfully, one of her colleagues came to her rescue since she was used to dealing with frantic fathers who were dealing with their first.

"Your wife is fine. She did remarkably well during the delivery, and she and the baby are both in good condition. You can go see them now." He barely finished as the young man rushed out of the room and down the corridor to where Delia was resting. He was glad to see no one was in his way as he made his way through the hall, seeing that his only focus was reaching his wife's side and seeing their child. His heart was hammering as he stood outside his wife's room, grabbing onto the handle and taking a deep, calming breath before he entered it. A nurse came to check his wife's vitals and complimented her on how gorgeous her baby was.

(Of course, what else can you expect since our daughter is going to be a vision of loveliness when she grows up!)

"Congratulations, you are now the proud father of a healthy little girl." The nurse saw the baby had been weighted and all looked good so now the only thing to do was give the family their privacy. She left the room, giving the two new parents some bonding time with their child. Delia smiled when she saw him standing by the doorway, yet his eyes were drawn to the wrapped bundle in her arms, smelling the sweet milk she was drinking eagerly off her mother's teat with a gusto.

"Well, don't just stand there; come say hello to your daughter, silly." Time seemed to have come to a sudden halt as Acnologia was cradling the swaddled infant in his hold. A girl, he was a father. He stared at the tiny child that was in his arms. He saw they had created a beautiful child as she combined their skin tone, and seeing it gave her that warm olive complexion. He saw how her nose and lips were Delia's and that the curve of her ears was like his, almond-shaped eyes that were closed and thick lashes fanning out on her cheeks. The small tuft of wispy hair that crowns her tiny head was darker than Delia's. Still, Acnologia sees the faint navy strands that mingle within when the light hits it right. Most of all, the distinct markings on her face were identical to his; though dim, they were faintly glowing as he came towards her, feeling the small energy emitting from her.

He could tell just by staring at her that one day, she would grow to look as captivating as her mother but have a fiery disposition like himself. (Damn right, she will! She's our daughter and will be the one to make men fall at her feet and bow to her whims!)

Eh, let's not be too hasty about that. I'm not ready to think of our little girl having boys chasing her tail just yet. She was just born not too long ago!

His tiny little miracle. Something wet crawled down his cheek, and Acnologia realized he was crying.

"Hello there, my little Asharia." The name came to him almost instantly since it was one of the few he and Delia had agreed and thought was well-suited to their child. She asked what names he knew from his era, but though he thought it might not be suitable to saddle her with such yet, Delia insisted.

"Your past and our present is what is to be your daughter's future. I want her to grow up proud of the name her daddy picked, which has a special meaning in his life."

Thinking of what she told him before eventually coming up with one, he thought it felt right. In his ancient language, it means 'precious gift to humanity,' which to them is what she was. Had it been a boy, they would've called him Ashton or Ash for short, although Delia once lovingly joked about calling him Junior if they gave him his name, although they compromised, and that would be better as his middle than first.

But now, here he was, looking at his daughter, Asharia, their child. He coos at the infant in a gentle voice and sees her open her eyes, well squinting and yet already could tell she had her sire's staring up into his with some flecks of green and yellow giving them a more hazel appearance. A tiny hand came free from the blanket and was found to grab at his meaty forefinger.

His breath hitched. The wizard saw her half-lidded gaze focused on him, and then she gave a small, gummy smile that shot through his whole being.

Delia was still exhausted from the entire experience, and finding the epidural was starting to fade, yet seeing her husband by her side and his hand over hers, the healing glow already taking effect, and she was beginning to feel much better now that he was here.

With her body leaning heavily into the pillows, hair matted down and plastered to her forehead, Delia looked like she had gone through a marathon but felt like she was a winner. It was clear what her husband was thinking as he stared into their daughter's cherub face. "She is perfect, love," The dragonslayer wrapped his arm around her while seeing Delia once more cradling their baby and staring at the precious miracle that was theirs.

He made a vow then that he would do everything to protect this little treasure of his. And the king of dragons always keeps his word.
