Episode 3: A Ruin With a View

Shortly after arriving in the Hoenn Region, Ashley, mainly Mew in disguise, along with Tomo, and the Pokemon meet an aspiring new Pokémon trainer named May. Now, together, they're on their way to Oldale Town where Mew will register for the Hoenn League.

"How much farther do we have to go to get to Oldale Town?" Tomo asks.

Mew checks her Pokenav, "Well, we shouldn't be any longer."

"I hope so," May says.

The group turns to see May, looking tired, "I'm getting tired."

"Don't worry May, we should arrive at the Pokemon Center and Oldale Town before it gets dark," Mew says.

"Kay," May says.

The group continues walking down the path to get to the next town before it gets dark.

Just then, May says, "Ashley?"

"Yeah May?" Mew replies.

"I always thought that Pokémon were supposed to stay inside their Pokéballs, right?" May asks.

"I get what you mean," Mew says, "Pikachu and Eevee don't like being in their Pokeballs, but they like it better hanging outside with me."

"Eevee/ Pika Pika!" (That's right) Pikachu and Eevee say.

"Meloetta and Skwovet are fine outside too," Tomo says.

Meloetta and Skwovet nod in response.

"Huh," May replies and takes out her Pokéball, "I haven't gotten any complaints from my Torchic yet," Then remembers, "Uh, come to think of it, I barely know anything about this Torchic!"

"Then what you should do is look it up in that new Pokédex you just got," Tomo says.

"Oh, yeah!" May says and gets out her Pokédex, "Well, it says here that Torchic is a fire type Pokémon, and its attacks are..."

Tomo soon notices, "Hey, look at that!"

"At what?" May asks.

The group looks ahead to see an Azurill.

May gasps in surprise, "Ah!"

May uses her Pokeball and the Pokdex says in a different voice, "Azurill, the Polka Dot Pokémon. A Normal and Fairy Type. Azurill is able to throw its tail like a lasso, using the momentum to move about."

Seeing it, May happily says, "It's so cute! I want it!"

"Then, try and catch it!" Mew says.

"Alright. I'll just grab me a Pokéball…" May says and takes out a Pokéball, "...and throws it!"

"May wait!" Tomo calls out.

But May throws the Pokeball

Mew cries out, "No! Not like that, May!"

The Pokemon cries out in their voices, "Not yet!"

However, the Pokéball hits Azurill.

May happily cheers, "Oh, yeah! I caught my first Pokémon!"

Right on cue, Azurill escaped the Pokéball

"Azurill!" (That won't work!) Azurill says, and doesn't look pleased.

May is surprised, "Hey! What gives?"

"Sadly May, you can't catch Pokemon like that," Mew says.

"Why not? I threw an empty Pokéball at it, didn't I?" May asks.

"First, you have to battle the Pokémon and weaken it. Then you throw your Pokéball when the wild Pokemon is weakened," Mew explains.

May gets embarrassed, "Right, I know. Time for a Pokémon battle! Torchic, I choose you!" and calls out Torchic.

"Now, what are those attacks again?" May asks.

Torchic charges towards Azurill but it jumps away.

"Torchic!" May calls out.

Torchic chases Azurill towards a tree, but bumped into it and hurt its head.

"That wasn't good," May says. She then walks to Torchic and asks, "Torchic, are you okay?

"Eevee," (Oh dear.) Eevee says.

"Pika Pika," (Well, it is their first time.) Pikachu says.

"Azurill!" (Nice try.) Azurill says and jumps away.

Torchic runs after Azurill again.

"Whoa! Torchic, not so fast! Wait for me!" May calls out and chases after Torchic.

Azurill was seen jumping away with Torchic still running after it through the bushes before it came close to a small rock and jumped away just as Torchic approached, sending it face first into it.

May picks up Torchic, "Okay. Next time, don't do anything until I tell you to."

"Torchic?" (Sorry?) Torchic sadly says.

"Hey, what are you crying for? Come on," May asks.

Then Tomo says, "May, if you don't hurry, it'll get away!"

May looks to see that Azurill is still there. Torchic soon confronts Azurill again.

"Alright," May says, and calls out the first attack, "Torchic, use your Peck attack!"

Torchich charged in, but Azurill jumped away while Torchic ended up pecking a tree.

May calls out, "Over there, Torchic!"

Torchic pursued after the Azurill

"No, wait for me!" May calls out.

They all run after both Pokémon. As Azurill jumped away, Torchic blindly fired an Ember attack at it, prompting Azurill to scream. Torchic, however, finds Azurill's evolved forms and friends, Marill, and Azumarill were hit along with it just as the gang shows up to see what's going on.

"Torchic!" May calls out.

Mew soon notices, "Uh May, I think we got trouble.

Azurill, Marill, and Azumarill all fired a Water Gun at Torchic, sending it flying upon impact and knocking it out.

"Torchic!" May cries out.

Azurill, Azumarill, and Marill charged in to finish the job.

Mew then calls out, "Pikachu, Eevee, use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu and Eevee jump from Mew's shoulder and launch their attacks, which hits the ground right in front of Azurill, Marill, and Azumarill, causing a mini explosion that sends the three packing.

May is soon seen holding her knocked out Torchic, "Torchic, say something, anything!"

"Sorry May, but Torchic is a fire type and they're weak against water attacks," Mew says.

Pikachu and Eevee nod their heads.

Feeling bad about it, May says, "I feel terrible. What should I do about this, guys?"

"Don't worry, May! Once we get to the Pokémon Center, you can have Torchic's energy restored, right there!" Mew says.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" May says.

The three friends are soon running as May looks while carrying her Torchic inside its Pokéball, but they quickly spot rocks ahead.

"I wonder what all those rocks are for," Tomo replies, noticing the rocks.

"Huh?" May replies.

The group soon kind of ruins within the rocks.

"It looks like it might be a bunch of old buildings, guys," Mays.

"Loetta," (Seems so.) Meloetta says.

Soon, a man walks over, "Well actually, these are the ruins of Oldale! I'm Professor Alden, and I'm here investigating them!"

The person they see is a man wearing some greenish brownish color clothes. He has brown hair, light tan skin..

"Hi my name is Ashley," Mew says.

"I'm Tomo," Tomo says.

"And my name's May. Hello!" May says.

"Nice to meet you all," Professor Alden says. He then asks, "So tell me, where're you all going in such a big hurry?"

"We're trying to find the Pokémon Center," Mew says.

"Ah!" Professor Alden says, and turns around to see the hill, "Well, you're almost there. It's just over this hill."

"Thank you," Mew says.

"Thanks a bunch!" May says.

Everyone rushes into the Pokémon Center as the sun sets.

Arriving at the center, May asks, "Nurse Joy, could you please help my Torchic?"

"No problem! Let's see now," Nurse Joy says.

Nurse Joy puts Torchic's Pokéball in a hole and checks the computer connected to it.

"Does it look okay in there?" May asks.

"One more second," Nurse Joy says.

After a couple seconds and some beeps from the machine…

"Torchic's fine! A goodnight's sleep is all your Torchic needs!" Nurse Joy says.

"Thank goodness!" May says relief.

"Feel better now, May?" Mew asks.

May nods, "Mm-hmm."

"That's good to hear," Tomo says.

"I think a goodnight's sleep would do you some good as well!" Nurse Joy says.

"Yeah!" Everyone replies.

Even the Pokemon agree.

May turns to Mew, "Hey Ashley?"

"Yes, May?" Mew asks.

May then asks, "Well, I was thinking, now that I'm in a Pokémon Center, will you and the others show me around?"

"Yeah, of course! But I just need to make a call to someone before we do!" Mew says.

She then makes a video call to Professor Oak.

"Hey, Professor Oak, I just now got into Oldale Town!" Mew says.

"Wonderful! It's always nice to hear from you and Tomo!" Professor Oak says on the video phone

"I just finished registering to be in the Hoenn League, Professor, so I'm ready to go and psyched for my first Badge!" Mew says.

"It sounds to me like another big adventure for you!" Professor Oak says.

"That's right!" May says.

The professor seemed surprised by May's presence.

May then says, "We haven't been introduced yet, but, I'm May!"

"Well, hello, May! I'm Professor Samuel Oak from Pallet Town!" Professor Oak says.

"I know you!" May says, "My brother never misses any of your radio lectures. And when I tell him that I've been actually talking to you, he'll be so jealous!"

"Well, how nice!" Professor Oak says.

"Of course, I know that I'm just a beginning Pokemon trainer, but I promise you, I'll work hard!" May says.

"Well, May, with Ashley and Tomo right by your side you should do very well. I wish all of you a safe and successful journey!" Professor Oak says.

"Thanks!" The group says.

Meanwhile, inside a phone booth…

Someone says, "What? You're in the Hoenn region?"

It's revealed that Team Rocket is inside the booth, talking with their boss, Giovanni.

"That's right!" Jessie says, "Still hot on the trail of that rare Pikachu and Eevee we told you about so that, one day soon, that Pikachu and Eevee will be all yours!"

"And now that we've tracked them down, we're ever so close to the capture!" James says.

"'Cause when it comes to the honor of Team Rocket, there's nothing we wouldn't do for ya!" Meowth adds.

At Giovanni's office far off in the Kanto region.

Giovanni then says, "Well, since you've take the liberty of calling me on my private line, I'm assuming that you have some good news, yes?"

Back in the phone booth.

"Well, the thing is…" Jessie says.

"Good detective work doesn't come cheaply, so our cash reserves are a bit low," James says.

"Could we get an advance?" Meowth asks.

But the boss answers, "No!"

The threesome yelp at the reaction.

"You'll receive no more funds," Giovanni adds.

The threesome sigh in disappointment.

However, Giovanni says, "However, I do have an opportunity for you."

"Opportunity?" Team Rocket questions.

Back in Giovanni's office.

The boss then says, "Although Team Rocket operates internationally, we haven't been able to set up operations in the Hoenn region. So if you three can successfully accomplish this, that's when we will talk money," And hangs up and smirks.

Back in the phone booth.

"We're going to start a branch office?" Team Rocket asks, surprised.

Jessie happily says, "Oh! A direct order from the boss himself to achieve true greatness!"

"He's practically saying we're the next in line to take over control of Team Rocket!" James says, happily.

"All dose long, harsh years of struggling was woith it, because…" Meowth says.

All three cheer, "Yippee!" and start singing, "We got a promotion. Yeah!"

"Wobbuffet!" (That's the truth!)

Back in Giovanni's office, his ever faithful Persian meows before he rubs its chin

"Losing those clowns will be worth it if I can learn about the operations of Team Aqua and Team Magma," Giovanni says and chuckles evilly.

Back at the Pokémon Center, everyone enters a bedroom.

"And this room's where the trainers sleep!" Mew says.

"Wow! Not too shabby," May says.

"Yeah!" Tomo replies.

Next they head into the lobby.

"This is the lobby where the trainers that stay here hang out to share information," Mew says.

"Yeah? You mean like where the malls are and where the best places to eat are and the best clothing stores are and things like that?" May asks.

"Not quite, May," Mew says, "They're all talking about Pokémon stuff!"

Suddenly, they hear a trainer say, "I heard there's a new gym leader over at the Petalburg Gym."

"Huh?" May hears them.

That also catches Mew and Tomo's attention.

"Are you sure?" The girl asks.

"Yeah!" The male trainer says.

"That's interesting," Mew says.

"Yeah. I wonder who the new gym leader is?" Tomo asks.

But May says, "Actually, is it alright if we can eat? I'm starving."

"Now that you've mentioned it, I'm kind of hungry," Tomo says.

"Good idea. Let's go grab something to eat," Mew says.

Soon, they're all settled down and eating.

May is happily eating, "Mmm, yummy! You know, these Centers are really great! Everything you could ever want in one place!"

"But remember, they're only here for the trainers so they can rest in between heavy training," Mew says.

"Well, you're getting ready for heavy training, and I'm training too, right?" May replies.

"I suppose you're right," Mew says.

Soon enough, Professor Alden shows up, "The many weary travelers! Glad you made it safely."

"Professor Alden," Tomo says.

"Oh, hi there!" Mew says.

Then Professor Alden says, "And I brought some friends with me as well?"

Soon, a few people walk over, and two of them are Spencer Hale and Molly Hale.

"Molly?!" Tomo says, surprised.

"Spencer?!" Mew says, surprised.

Molly happily says, "Hi Tomo." and turns to notice Mew, "Huh? Mew?"

"Is that you Mew?" Spencer asks, a bit confused.

"Mew?" May says, confused.

"Um, well, let's keep this to ourselves for the time being. Alright," Mew says.

"Uh okay," May says, confused.

"Long story," Mew says.

Tomo gestures to Spencer and Molly for them to come over. When they get close Tomo whispers, "Mew is in disguise so no one here will recognize her. She's calling herself Ashley for the time being."

"I see," Spencer says.

"Well it's good to see you," Molly says.

"Yeah. You too," Mew says.

"So what are you doing in Hoenn?" Tomo asks.

"We're here to investigate some ancient ruins in the Hoenn Region with Professor Alden," Spencer says.

Molly then turns to May and says, "Hello. I'm Molly.

"Hi Molly. I'm May," May says.

"May is our new friend and she's traveling with us," Mew says.

Outside, Team Rocket is busy digging.

"Yum! Sometin' smells really good. Smells like curry and rice," Meowth says.

"Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic breadsticks on the side," James says.

But Jessie says, "Snap out of it!"

"Hmm?" The boys respond.

"Work on being a good thief, not a restaurant critic!" James says.

"Oh, yes! Right! Thanks!" James says.

And Meowth says, "Soon as we set up a Team Rocket shop in da Hoenn region, we're numbah one!"

Then James remembers, "Uh... But just a minute. Since we're the only members of Team Rocket in the Hoenn region, we already are number one, aren't we?"

"Hello! Slick tinkin', James!" Meowth says.

But Jessie says, "If you two lazy good-for-nothings take that sort of attitude, Butch and Cassidy will just slide on in and take over!"

"Jessie's right! Dose no good crooks!" Meowth says.

"You're so good with those morale-building pep talks!" James says.

Team Rocket happily sings, "A shovel here and shovel there. We'll soon be sitting in the boss' chair. A shovel here and a shovel..."

Back inside the Pokémon Center, Mew notices a picture of the ruins he and the others saw.

"Professor, are those the same ruins that we saw when we were up on that hill?" Mew asks.

"Yes. And lucky for me, the Pokemon Center has been generous enough to give me the use of this room while I continued my research on those ruins," Professor Alden says, "You know, there's a stone chamber within the ruins, and legend has it that it's a sort of bridge or portal between our world and the ancient Pokémon world."

"Wow," May and Molly reply.

Then Professor Alden says, "Indeed. But because of its strange construction, any attempts to enter the chamber have caused it to begin crumbling, so its contents remain unknown."

"What do you mean by ancient Pokémon?" Molly asks.

"Well, Molly, I'm not talking about extinct fossil Pokémon like Aerodactyl and Kabuto. I'm talking about ancient Pokémon that have been living since ancient times without changing at all!" Professor Alden says.

"Wow, how cool!" Mew says.

Then Professor Alden says, "Most of the details involving ancient Pokémon, like where they lived and how they lived, are still a complete mystery to most of the world. Guess it's all that mystery that makes it so fascinating!

"Huh! There might be more to Pokémon than I thought!" May says.

"I sure love to meet one," Tomo says.

"Me too," Molly happily says.

"You just might get your chance. You and your friends," Professor Alden says.

"Huh?" The girls reply.

"What do you mean?" Tomo asks.

"The correct way to enter the stone chamber is written right here on this tablet," Professor Alden says.

"You're kidding!" Mew says, surprised.

"Let's go then," May says.

"Well, there are four keys needed to enter that haven't yet been found, so I'm afraid we'll have to wait just a bit longer!" Professor Alden says.

But unknown to them, they were being watched by some suspicious people with thermal visors.

One of them says, "Professor Alden sighted."

"Good. Then, let's begin," A second visitor says.

"Right!" The two strangers respond.

The three people wearing the same uniforms as the first two split up.

"I sure hope we find those four keys soon!" Mew says.

"I hope so, too!" Molly says.

Suddenly, the lights go out.

"Huh?" Tomo and Molly say, surprised.

"The lights!" May replies.

The door soon bursts open. Next thing they all know, they were confronted by a group in red uniforms with an M on each with three Houndoom in some kind of armor.

"What? What is the meaning of this?!" Spencer asks.

The Houndoom trio growl.

One of the people says, "Professor Alden, we would like you to accompany us on a little journey to the Oldale ruins."

"I will not!" Professor Alden refuses.

Just then, they hear Nurse Joy, "I'm sorry, Professor Alden.

Nurse Joy soon approaches with a flashlight in hand, "When the power went…" And gasps in shock to see the intruders.

One of the members of the group quickly seized her.

"Nurse Joy!" Mew calls out.

"Well, now, Professor, would you like to change your mind?" The intruder says.

Professor Alden grunts in frustration and says in defeat, "Yes, alright. I'll go with you, then."

Soon, Mew and the others, including Spencer, Molly, and nurse Joy are thrown into the food pantry and locked in.

"Ow!" May yelps.

"That hurts," Molly says.

Mew shouts, "Hey, let us out of here!"

"What do they want?" May asks.

"To get inside the chamber, I'll bet!" Nurse Joy says.

Mew turns to Nurse Joy and asks, "Do you know those people, Nurse Joy?"

"Oh, no, I don't," Nurse Joy answers, "But I'm sure they caused that blackout by cutting the power here to the Center," She then gasps, "Then, that means all of the Pokémon treated here are in danger!"

"Oh no!" Molly says, worried.

This also has May worried, "Wait! You mean my Torchic's in trouble?!"

"We have to switch over to our reserve power right away," Nurse Joy says,

Then Spencer says, "To do that, we'll have to get out of here first."

Suddenly, they hear Pikachu calling out, "Pika!" (You guys!)

Everyone looks and sees that Pikachu found an air shaft.

"Pika Pi! Pikachu!" (Mew! Our way out!) Pikachu says.

"Great idea Pikachu! We can use the air shaft to get out," Mew says.

"Then let's hurry," Spencer says, "We need to help Professor Alden and the Pokemon in the Center."

. Meanwhile, outside of the Pokemon Center, Team Rocket pops out of their tunnel.

As they happily say, "Tunnel complete!"

However, they notice they're outside the Center

"Okay, so I was off by a smidge," Meowth says.

The mysterious red hooded people's Houndooms show up.

"Hmm?" The three turn confused.

They turn and see the other Houndoom and three mysterious invaders with Professor Alden in hand.

One of them demands, "You mind telling me what you're doing here?"

"We're doing whatever we want to do!" Jessie says.

"You're looking at this region's top Team Rocketers!" James says.

And Meowth says, "Prepare for trouble, and make it double, and all that jazz!"

Jessie calls out her Pokemon, "Go, Arbok!"

James does the same, "Weezing, you too!"

However, one of the Houndooms uses the move Roar, forcing Arbok and Weezing back into their Pokeballs.

Causing the two to get confused, "Huh?"

"Why?" James asks.

They soon react again, "Huh?"

And notice the Houndoom is poised for the next attack. So Team Rocket do the only thing they can do.

"Uh... We must've taken a wrong turn," Jessie says.

"Sorry for the confusion, boys!" James says.

"Bye, now," Meowth says.

They sheepishly sink down.

"Wobbuffet!" (Full retreat!) Wobbuffet says.

The mysterious intruder says, "Huh. So everything I heard about 'em was true."

Inside the Pokémon Center Nurse Joy and Spencer look worried.

Inside the ventilation shaft, Mew, May, Tomo, and Molly are crawling through to find a way out.

Mew turns to the others, "How are you all doing there?"

"We're doing okay," May says.

"Doing good," Tomo says.

"Yep," Molly says.

They continued on but reached a split in the vent.

Mew looks at both sides, "Which way now?"

Pikachu and Eevee step forward and listen for the direction.

Pikachu says, "Pika. (That way.) and points to the right.

"That way?" Mew asks.

Then Pikachu runs ahead, "Pika. (And then...) He runs forward and points to his right, "Pikachu." (Go this way.)

Everyone follows, and Ash and May spot another vent

"The exit!" Mew says.

"Wow. Your Pikachu is pretty smart, Ashley," May says.

Mew says, "Let me look first, just in case these creeps are still around."

Mew then looks through the air shaft and looks around. She then breaks the vent open and enters the lobby.

She looks around for a minute before turning to the others, "Okay, it's all clear."

Everyone climbs out of the air shaft. Mew and Tomo rush to the front desk and Mew finds the key.

Mew says, "Yes! The master key Nurse Joy was talking about."

Soon, the lights come on.

May says, "I switched it over to reserve power."

"Great job, May," Mew says.

"Now we need to free Nurse Joy and papa," Molly says.

Soon, they quickly do just that. Mew uses the master key to open the food storage door and free Nurse Joy and Spencer.

"All set," Mew says.

"Great, guys!" Nurse Joy says.

Then Tomo asks, "Will you be okay, Nurse Joy?"

"You bet," Nurse Joy says.

"We're gonna help Professor Alden," Mew says.

With that, the group of kids rush off.

Spencer says, "I'll go with them," and turns to Nurse Joy, "Will you be okay on your own?"

"I'll be fine," Nurse Joy says.

With that, Spencer rushes off to help Mew and the others.

"Please be careful!" Nurse Joy calls out.

Up in the ruins…

Professor Alden demands, "What is the meaning of this?! Tell me, why did you bring me here?!"

"Why do you think? We brought you so that you could gain access to the stone chamber," The leader says, "

Professor Alden turns to the door, "It won't work!" and turns to the leader, "If we try to force our way into it, the chamber will collapse."

"But you yourself said the way in is written on this little tablet, is that right, professor?" The unit leader says.

"That's true, but I also said that I need to have the four treasures as keys," Professor Alden says.

"Of course," The unit leader says, "The keys."

One of the members brings out a tray with the keys, different colored orbs, on them: Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue.

"Here you are," The leader says.

Professor Alden is shocked to see the four treasures, "What?! Where did you...?!"

"You see, we have friends in high places," the unit leader says, "The only thing left to do is to find out which key goes in which hole. And you will help us with that."

But the professor refuses, "I won't!"

"Really? Then I can assume that you don't care, about the fate of those poor people at the Pokémon Center," the unit leader says.

Professor Alden is shocked, "You wouldn't!"

"We would and will, unless you obey. So, what will it be?" The unit leader responds.

With no other choice, Professor Alden shrugs his shoulders, "You win."

The professor places the keys in the holes on the door, opening the door and allowing the mysterious members to enter with the professor behind them.

Professor Alden is amazed, "Astounding!"

What they find is glyphs of prehistoric Pokémon and humans.

Prof. Alden looks at the glyphs, "Incredible! These panels depict ancient people and Pokémon living together! A miraculous discovery!"

The leader asks his troops, "Do you see the information we came for?"

"Not a trace!" One of the members answers.

A female member walks over with the camera, "I've recorded all the data from the walls.

"We've come up with nothing again!" The leader says before he looks at his watch, "Right, let's pull out!"

Not long, Mew and the others arrived to see the invaders taking off by helicopter.

"There they go!" Tomo says.

"Skwovet," (Oh no.) Skwovet replies.

The helicopter flies off as Mew and the others approach the professor.

"Professor!" Mew calls out.

"Are you gonna be alright?" May asks.

"Yes. I'm just fine," Professor Alden says.

"What a relief," Molly says.

Then Tomo wonders, "Who were those guys anyway?"

And all of the sudden, Team Rocket sneaks in.

Jessie:

Prepare for very quiet trouble.

James:

Make it a very silent double.

Meowth:

Dat's right.

And Meowth says, "Just look what da Meowth dragged in. Four shiny new treasures."

As Meowth talks, all three of them hold up the keys

"Wobbuffet." (Quite a catch.) Wobbuffet says.

Right as Wobbuffet blurts out, the group turn and find Team Rocket while Jessie and James shush Wobbuffet

"You guys?!" Mew exclaims.

"Team Rocket?!" Tomo says, shocked.

Even Molly is shocked, "You three are here too?"

"Rats. Seems like we've been discovered," Jessie says.

Professor Alden then notices the treasures Team Rocket has, "Hey! You guys give back those treasures!"

Jessie then calls out, "Arbok, go!"

Arbok comes out.

James does the same, "Weezing, Tackle attack!"

Weezing also comes out of the Pokeball.

Mew calls out, "Eevee, Quick Attack!"

Eevee darts in and nails Arbok easily, who skids to a stop, kicks up some dust and blinds Team Rocket just enough for them to drop the keys.

Molly then turns to Mew, "Me- I mean, Ashley, can I finish this."

"Take your best shot, Molly," Mew says.

Molly then brings out her Pokeball and calls out, "Spinda, I choose you!"

And with that, Spinda comes out of her Pokeball.

"A Spinda?" Mew says, surprised.

"Wow. you got a new Pokemon," Tomo says, amazed.

"Sure did," Molly says.

She then calls out, "Alright Spinda, use Focus Punch!"

Spinda then performs the attack. Despite the small size, Spinda sends Team Rocket flying.

Team Rocket cries out, "Team Rocket's blasting off much too soon!

"Wobba!" (I'll say) Wobbuffet agrees.

Soon, Professor Alden placed the keys in their proper spots.

"Good! They're back where they belong," Professor Alden says.

Soon, the sun shines behind them.

"The sun's up," Mew says.

"Morning already?" May says.

Suddenly, the keys light up and the sun's light shines through the grooves along the walls. Soon, the middle stone moves to reveal a stairway.

"What's this?" Spencer asks.

"It's a staircase," May says.

"But where does it lead?" Molly asks.

"Only one way to find out," Mew says.

"Well, let's take a look!" Professor Alden says.

Everyone heads down the stairs into a cave

"It's an enormous underground water supply!" Professor Alden says.

"It smells so fresh and clean," May says.

"You're right!" Mew says.

"I wonder if it leads out to sea," Professor Alden says.

Soon, something leaps out of the water, catching everyone's attention, a giant fish. A Pokémon that is heavily based on the coelacanth. It is covered with hard, brown scales that are similar to craggy rocks. Its tan head has protruding cheekbones.A triangular spike protrudes from the back of its head. Tan patches cover its body and there is a red spot located on both sides. It possesses two pairs of pectoral fins, which it uses to push itself along the sea bottom. Additionally, it has dorsal and pelvic fins near its tail. Its tail fin has a wavy outline.

Soon, the fish dives into the water.

Professor Alden is surprised, "Great Scott! The ancient Pokémon, Relicanth!"

"Relicanth?" Molly says, confused.

"It's an ancient Pokemon that has been extinct for millions of years," Spencer says.

Mew brings out her Pokedex and it's said, "Relicanth, the Longevity Pokemon. A Water and Rock Type. Relicanth is a rare species that was discovered in deep-sea explorations. This Pokémon's body withstands the enormous water pressure of the ocean depths. Its body is covered in tough scales that are like craggy rocks."

"I'll be! It is true. These ruins are a portal between the present and the past!" Professor Alden says.

Two Relicanth are seen in the water as the professor talks.

Later, at the Pokémon Center.

"May, I'm happy to report that your Torchic's as good as new," Nurse Joy says.

May takes her Pokeball, "Oh, great. Thank you. Okay, come on out," and let Torchic out.

Once out, Torchic instantly jumps into May's arms.

"I'm so glad you feel better," May happily says.

"We're glad Tochic is okay," Tomo says.

Mew then turns to Nurse Joy, "Excuse me, Nurse Joy? Did you find out anything more about those crooks?"

"Officer Jenny is doing everything she can, but so far, no clues," Nurse Joy says.

"That's too bad," May says.

"I wonder who they are," Molly says.

"I'm not sure," Mew says.

She then says, "Well, I guess it's time for us to head over to Petalburg City, right?"

"Ashley!" Professor Alden calls out.

Everyone turns and sees Professor Alden and Spencer Hale.

"Leaving so soon?" The professor asks.

"Yeah," Mew says.

"Hey! Guess what!" Professor Alden says, "We've been doing a little more research over at the stone chamber, and so far, every indication has pointed to ancient Pokémon and man interacting peacefully!"

"Wow!" Tomos ays.

"You've learned so much and so quickly!" May says.

Professor Alden says, "I can hardly stop working! Even to sleep! There are so many undiscovered secrets in the world of Pokémon!"

"Yes. which means we have our work cut out for us," Spencer says.

"I'm sure you all will do great," Mew says.

Tomo turns to Molly, "So Molly, what do you plan to do now?"

"Actually, besides seeing the ruins, I actually want to travel with you all again. After thinking, I know I still have a lot to learn, and I really like to travel and go on adventures with you. So I asked mama and papa and they said it's okay," Molly says.

"That's great. That means you get to travel with us again," Mew says.

"Yeah," Molly says.

May giggles, "Sounds nice. I sure love to get to know Ashley's friend."

Everyone giggles.

Soon, everyone is walking down the road.

"Well, it looks like I'll have to wait until we get to Petalburg City to know about the new gym leader.

May turns away, pretending to be concerned, "Hmm, yeah. That's too bad."

"Well, I'm sure excited to head to my firth gym in the Hoenn Region, and to see if I can win my first badge," Mew say

"I can't wait to see that," Tomo says.

Then May asks, "Hey Ashley, why does Molly call you Mew when she sees you. Is it a nickname?"

"Well, you could say that," Mew says sheepishly, "I'll explain once we get to Petalburg City, okay."

"Sure," May says.

Able to witness the miracle of an ancient Pokémon, Ash, May, Tomo, and Molly, who is now rejoining Mew and Tomo on the adventure, discovered yet another part of the mysterious Pokémon world! And that's just the first of many new revelations that await in the Hoenn region!

Meanwhile, back at the Oldale Pokemon Center, there is a familiar young girl with an Amaura.

Nurse Joy says to her, "Yes. There is a trainer with a Pikachu and an Eevee. She just left with her friends. A boy with a Skwovet and a Meloetta, and Professor Hale's daughter."

"Thank you," The girl says.

Soon, the girl, who is leaving the Pokemon Center, is actually Jen, and her Pokemon partner, Amaura.

"Come on Amaura, let's hurry so we can catch up with Mew," Jen says.

Amaura happily says, "Amaura!" (Sure, let's go!)
