Chapter 142: The Day of Unity
Luz was on the ground, motionless until she started to groan. She woke up, her eyes opening as she gave a few blinks. Only then did she get up.
"What… what happened?" she asked with an uncertain tone. She looked around and saw that she was on the Isles. But there was something… different about it.
She was on the beach of the Isles. The sea was gray and the sky was white as the sand. There was no color to be seen. As she walked along the beach, she began to notice a theme: decay.
Washed up on the shores of the Boiling Isles were rotting carcasses of various creatures, some of the corpses being so decayed that Luz was unable to identify the creature. After having seen enough, she decided to use her wings to fly up from the beach and look at the rest of the Isles. She gasped, when she saw that the entire Titan was in a state of decay.
The trees, the town, the Titan's Skull… all were rotted and degraded with a mold-like growth also starting to cover everything.
It reminded her… of the Forest of Fear.
"This… this isn't the Isles…" Luz realized before she heard and felt something. Something that made her realize that she wasn't alone…
"Hello?" Luz asked while she was looking around. "Maya? Maya, where are you?" she called out. She knew that she must be in some version of the mindscape, but there was something about this place that felt… familiar.
"Luz…"
Luz froze when she heard that familiar voice. Turning around, she looked up and saw that towering over her was a being that she and the Emperor knew all too well, even if his appearance was different.
He was wearing his red cloak, but it was stained with the black ooze that spilled from his body along with black tendrils with stubs at the end. His bleached-skeletal face and large antlers stuck out from his hood. He looked like a mixture of his humanoid and bestial appearance… not quite humanoid and yet not quite bestial. Luz recognized him as… the Horned King.
"Welcome… to your new home," the Horned King told her as she felt him looking right through her and into her soul with those burning eyes…
Back at the castle, the tide of the battle had turned… against the rebels.
"Fall back!" Steve shouted as he, the rest of BIG, and the renegade rebels kept shooting spells at Belo's loyalists. Wolffe was leading the charge as she with a bunch of loyalists, SCORN scouts, and Abomatons advanced on the group, who were using what little cover they had to protect themselves from the onslaught.
While the rebels kept casting spells, they knew they were only delaying the inevitable. Despite this, Bindell, Bunker, Le'Belle, Meg, Hugh, and Carter held the line, blasting spells at their fellow scouts while Grip, Cle, Gidget, and Dale fell back when a spell exploded near them. Bowen helped them up while Scameron, Joana, and Thunder shielded the group from more attacks.
"There's just too many of them!" Barb shouted while she and Alburno used their fire spells to create a wall of flames in the hopes of slowing the loyalists down.
Unfortunately, it only took a few seconds for the Abomatons to put those flames out.
"We have them on the run!" Wolffe shouted.
While the rest of the former scouts tried to hold the Emperor's Coven back for as long as they could, Steve rushed down the hallway and found Odalia's group, which consisted of Odalia, Geist, Ed, Em, Bela, and Hikari's body. Wisely, they were staying out of the line of fire. But how long it would remain that way was a different question. "You guys have to move out! The castle is being retaken! Take the kids out of here!"
"Of course," Odalia agreed, looking over at her kids. "They can't stay here much longer anyway, not after…" She glanced at Hikari's body, looking saddened.
"But what about you, Steve?!" Geist asked him in worry.
"We'll cover for you guys!" Steve told them before he rushed back to join the fight, constructing walls to shield himself and his allies from spells.
"Bela, take them to safety!" Bindell shouted while punching a loyalist and a SCORN scout down. "We'll handle this from here!"
Bela gave a nod and quickly scooped up Hikari's body.
Emira was still in shock from witnessing Hikari's death. She had tried to save her, but she wasn't able to. She was then shaken by Odalia.
"Emira, wake up!" Odalia shouted at her. "We need to leave!"
Emira was unfortunately still unresponsive, so Ed and Geist went over to help get her up.
"Come on, Emira, let's get out of here!" Edric told his sister as he and his uncle escorted Emira away while Odalia followed suit, leaving Steve and the rebels behind to fight back against the loyalist forces, even if the odds were against them.
"Em…" Odalia said in concern when she saw her daughter's current state. She went to help hold Emira's hand, Emira not pulling away from her. "Em, we did as much as we could here. I know what you're going through right now, but we all need to leave and get to safety."
Emira understood what her mother was saying. Despite her shock, she recognized that they had to get out of here. She was just feeling overwhelmed by it all…
And deep down, she hoped that her sister was doing well on her end…
Having just rushed out from the throne room moments ago was the trio of Eda, Lilith and Raine, who had Amity and King's bodies with them, Lilith also holding onto the Sword of Adam. The three of them were absolutely devastated by their loss, but none were as devastated as Eda, who was carrying her son's body in her arms. Witnessing King's death, followed by Amity's murder and losing Luz… it had really taken a toll on the Owl Lady.
They soon arrived at the spot where they had left the recovering Star, Tres, and Eberwolf, who had started to wake up. Darius was still watching over and protecting them despite the state that he was currently in. Sam and the Palismans were also there with them. When they heard Eda's group coming back, they turned to see them… with bodies.
"Guys, you're back-" Star paused when she saw the bleeding chest on Amity's body and King's limp and bleeding body. "AMITY! KING!" she shouted in horror.
Tres, Darius, and Eberwolf were also in shock, but none were more shocked than a certain cat Palisman. When she looked at Amity's body, her eyes widened in horror.
"NO!" Ghost shouted, running up to Lilith, who held Amity's body. "Amity! Amity, speak to me!"
While nobody else could understand what Ghost was saying, all of them knew from her tone that Ghost was distressed. After all, she had already experienced this once before, when Adam died. And now she was being forced to relive this experience once again…
"What happened to them?!" Tres asked while Star noticed that Luz was missing.
"Where's Luz…" Star asked, fearing the worst. Atticus noticed his owner was missing as well and looked concerned.
"Belos… he killed King," Raine explained to them. "And then he took over Luz and…" They shut their eyes, not daring to finish. But the others could figure out what they meant.
"No…" Star said in shock, covering her mouth in horror.
"Amity…" Sam said in a depressed tone as she looked down at Amity's dead body. Meanwhile, a broken-looking Ghost kept meowing over Amity's body.
"Come back!" Ghost begged while pressing her paws against Amity's body, as if that would somehow revive back. "Please, come back! I can't lose you too! Not like this. NOT LIKE THIS!"
"We… everything happened so fast," Lilith said while looking down with a pained expression. She felt like she had failed Amity, failed Luz, failed her sister, and failed Odalia. She looked over at Eda, who was just staring at King's body. "Eda, do you…?" But Eda just silently turned away, still holding her son's body.
Raine looked at Eda. They wished that they could say something to help Eda feel better, but they recognized that Eda was inconsolable right now. After all, she was a mother who had lost her kids. And while Raine couldn't do anything for her, there was something they could do.
"We need to leave here now," Raine decided, putting aside their own distress and grief to focus on getting everyone out of here. "We've lost so much, but there is nothing we can do about that now. Instead the only thing we can do is get as many of our people out of here as possible."
This shocked a few members of the group, especially Lilith.
"What?! But what Hunter?" Lilith asked them. "We still haven't found him!"
"Yeah, along with Willow and Eclipsa, both of them could still be here!" Star pointed out.
"I know, but we have no idea where Belos could have taken them and I doubt he is in the mood to tell us right now," Raine responded. "We need to find the rest of the CATTs and get out of here. We can live to fight another day."
That was when Sam floated up to get everyone's attention as she moved her arms around.
"Amity's shadow," Tres realized when he saw the shadow trying to get their attention. "I think it's trying to tell us something."
"Amity uses her shadow to scout around," Lilith said, seeing Sam pointing in a certain direction. "I think… it wants us to follow it."
Sam nodded her shadowy head in confirmation before she flew down the hall. It only took the group a moment to decide to follow the shadow before any more of Belo's followers showed up.
Sam led them down to a two-way hall, where they heard footsteps. Fortunately, those footsteps only belonged to more familiar faces.
"Wait!" Odalia waved her arms around. "It's us!"
"Odalia," Lilith said upon seeing the Grunhar-Blight family. However, any potential relief vanished when they saw Bela with Hikari's body while Odalia's group noticed Amity and King's body.
"Amity…" Emira said in quiet shock when she saw the blood coming from Amity's chest. She, Odalia, Ed, and Geist all stared at Amity and King's bodies.
"No… nononono," Odalia stammered before she rushed towards Amity's body. "Amity? Amity, what happened!?" she cried, tears streaming from her eyes. "What happened to her?!"
"I'm sorry, Lia…" Lilith sniffed, tears streaming from her eyes. "Belos killed her, and King… and he took Luz's body."
"No… no…" Odalia looked up to Lilith, both of them exchanging looks that screamed despair. But then Odalia realized there was someone else with that pain and she turned to look at Eda. "Eda… I'm so sorry…"
"No… don't apologize to me," Eda muttered, still absolutely devastated. "I don't deserve it…"
"How do we get out here?" Ed asked, wanting to be as far away from this castle as possible, especially with the loss of his younger sister. But he was also worried about his twin sister, who he looked concerned for. Emira wasn't saying anything.
"Lilith! Odalia! Raine!"
Everyone turned to see another group waving to them. Much to their surprise, it was Nina, Donna, and the Brookes.
"C-Calypso?" Lilith asked in shock upon seeing her old friend. "You're awake?"
"How are you and your family… and Donna-?!" Odalia asked them.
"It's a long story, Ms. Odalia, but-" When Skara noticed Amity and King's body, she gasped. Nina, Donna, Slasher and Calypso noticed them as well.
"Oh my…" Slasher said in shock.
"Amity… King…" Donna gasped.
"What happened to them?!" Nina asked.
"Belos killed them," Eda told them, shocking them all. "And he took over Luz… she's lost now."
"No…" Skara was now in tears as her whole body shook. "No! No! NOO! AMITY!" she cried as Nina held her and tried to comfort her.
"I'm sorry," Nina said, also shedding tears as she held onto Skara.
"No… " Donna said in an upset tone, her remaining hand starting to shake. First Beocrow, now Amity and King…
Calypso and Slasher looked at each other. They knew how devastated everyone was, but right now is not the time to mourn. Slasher spoke up. "Listen everyone, we know a way out of here. Follow us."
"Lead the way, Slasher," Raine told him as the rebels went to follow Slasher and Calypso, who led them through several hallways and passageways to the room with the teleportation glyph.
It was the time to retreat… and mourn their losses.
In St. Epiderm, specifically the classroom where the transportation glyph circle was, a bright flash of light illuminated everything. Once the light died down, the returning rebels came out of the classroom. In the hall was Lambi, who was with Scabrina, Tito, the Masterskulls, Drakescales, the Clawthornes, Lindsay, Hooty, and the Bad Girls Coven members.
"Guys, you're back!" Lambi said as she rushed over to hug Nina.
"Nina!" Tito shouted as he rushed over to hug Nina as well. "When Lambi told me you and the Brookes went to the castle, I was so worried. You should have brought me along with you!"
Nina hugged him back. "Well, thanks for worrying, Tito…" she said sadly.
Scabrina's eyes widened when she saw her mom. Tears streamed from the little Brooke girl's eyes. "MOM!" she screamed as she rushed over to her. "You're awake!"
"Scabby…" Calypso said as she knelt down with her arms up. Scabrina charged into her, hugging her mother while Calypso hugged her back. "I'm so glad you're okay, dear."
Scabrina sniffed. "I'm so happy to see you, mommy…" Scabrina said as she cried into her mom's shoulder, Calypso not daring to let go. It has been too long since she has held onto her daughter like this.
"Donna!" Gladys and Diana shouted as they rushed over to hug Donna.
"Oh Donna, we were so worried about you!" Diana shouted before noticing her left arm and bandaged stub. She gasped in shock. "Your hand…"
"Donna, what happened to your hand?!" Gladys asked in worry as Cross and Lindsay rushed over to her.
"Donna, Lindsay told us what happened when me and Zee got back," Cross told her, looking guilty. "I was in the castle, I should have-" He then noticed Eda and Lilith carrying Amity and King. "What the…"
Boscha, Cat, Amelia, and Bo rushed over to Skara. "Skara, how was-" They stopped when they saw that Skara was crying. Before they could ask, Boscha's third eye noticed Eda and Lilith carrying over Amity and King's bodies, leading to Boscha's scream. "NOOO!"
Everyone was now staring at the lifeless bodies of Amity, King, and Hikari.
All are shocked and upset to see their lifeless bodies. Gavin was the most shocked, even when reunited with the small version of his dad, he stared in shock to see Amity… dead.
"What… what happened?" Viney asked as she, Jerbo, and Barcus stared in shock.
Acorn flew over, spotting the lifeless body of Amity.
"Amity…?!" Acorn flew over her body, trying to wake Amity up. "Amity? Amity, wake up!"
Maurice was also there and when he saw King's body, the baby demon squirrel looked devastated.
"Amity… Hikari…?" Matt asked in disbelief. He had only just met Hikari earlier that day and now here she was… dead. Hr grabbed his head. "This… this can't be happening…"
"This… this is a bad dream, right?" Jerbo asked, trying to keep it together. But his eyes betrayed him as tears flooded them, the same happening to Barcus and Viney.
"W-Wait, where's… Luz?" Zee asked, looking around as she realized that Luz was missing.
"Amity, wake up!" Acorn cried while smacking at Amity's face before being pulled away by Ghost. "Let me go, you damn cat! Let me go so I can wake her up!"
Ghost couldn't understand what she was saying, but understood Acorn's feelings. The cat Palisman brought her away as Acorn continued to cry.
"AMITY!" Acorn cried out while Maurice laid on top of King's body. Tears streamed from the demon squirrel's eyes as he was saddened by the loss of his master… his father.
"Lulu? What… what happened?" Hooty asked as he looked at Lilith, who looked at him and her mom. She then just collapsed, hugging them both, Hooty and Gwen holding her as she broke down. She had now changed back to her normal self.
Eda changed back to her normal self as well before she collapsed and started to have a breakdown. Dell went over to his daughter,
Emira just stood there in silence, while everyone was talking and tearing up over the loss. She lost Hikari… and now she lost Amity. Her baby sister… killed by Belos.
And in that moment, Emira finally let herself cry.
Cross was overwhelmed by this, staring blankly ahead while Lindsay started to cry into his shoulder. Zee was shaken by this as well.
"Star… what happened?" Boscha asked, tearing up as she walked over. "Where's Luz?"
Back in the castle, the revolt was over. The Emperor's Coven had taken back control.
In the throne room, there was Beluz, sitting on his throne while wearing the mask and robe, Abel standing by his side. In front of him was Wolffe, along with the recovering Flora, Leonte, Kikimora, Pugsley, and Gibson, who was in an Abomi-wheelchair being pushed by Mr. Blood because of his bandaged kneecaps, which Kiki noticed as they all bowed before the throne.
"What happened to your knees?" Kiki asked Gibson.
"Don't want to talk about it," Gibson grumbled as he and the others kept their heads low.
"Raise your heads," Beluz told them as they all looked up to him. "I wanted you all here to thank you for your loyalty, to the covens and to me." He noticed Pugsley raising his hand up, causing Beluz to sigh. "Yes, Pugsley?"
"Um, I couldn't help but notice that you, um, seem a bit shorter than usual, sir," he pointed out.
"Pugsley!" Kiki was about to scold him, but Beluz stopped her.
"Now, now, that's just an honest question," Beluz said as he rose up and removed his mask. "That's the other reason I summoned you all here. Because I have just gone through with my… transformation."
Everyone was shocked when they saw Luz's face behind the mask, yet Belos's voice was still coming from it.
"The human Clawthorne?!" Kikimora exclaimed.
"Lilith's niece?" Flora asked in shock.
"Her… sir, why do you look like…?" Gibson asked.
Beluz began to explain. "This is the transformation I promised. Due to being raised in the Demon Realm, the poor girl was being altered by the environment. This is no place for a human to grow up, after all," he said with a tone of pity. "The Titan has told me that in order to free Luz of her pain, I would have to take it upon myself to exit my old body and take over hers, thus taking the burden of that pain away from her. As of now, I am the new owner of Ms. Luz Clawthorne's body."
Leonte looked especially shocked by this, but he didn't say anything. He was still sore from the beatdown Steve gave him… a beatdown that he deserved. He remained silent.
"So this is the reason why you wanted no harm to be done to the girl," Wolffe realized. "Why you have taken a special interest in her…"
"There's also another matter, sire," Flora brought up. "The rebels have managed to escape. Including the traitor, Wrath."
"And the prisoners in your personal dungeon also escaped during the confusion," Kiki said while holding up a pair of glasses. "Including that human prisoner named Jacob, though this was all we could find. Though given his condition, I think it's safe to say he didn't make it…"
Beluz sighed, but he wasn't bothered by this news. Not in the slightest. "I'm not concerned about them. That human served his purpose, the rebels have lost, and tomorrow is our special day… the Day of Unity. When all of you, my followers and loyalists, shall be rewarded for your loyalty by a utopia free of wild magic. I still have your loyalty, right?"
"Yes, sire," they all said
"Sir," Leonte finally spoke up. "About the Draining Spell…"
"Leonte," Beluz said as he turned to Leonte. He spoke in a reassuring tone. "You've served me very well for years. Have I ever led you wrong?"
Leonte looked down. "No, sir."
Beluz nodded. "And I'm not leading you wrong now. Trust me. I have the best interests of the Isles in mind, just like I always do. I expect great things from you tomorrow. Understand?"
"Yes, sir," Leonte said, nodding.
"Good," Beluz said, resisting the urge to smile. He knew just how much of a loyal dog Leonte was. He wouldn't have gotten this far in his scheme without people just like Leonte. "Still… I need you, Wolffe, and the others to re-establish order in the towns, put down any potential uprisings. Lock down the entire Isles if you have to. As for St. Epiderm… leave it be. For now."
"But sir, after what Felicity's kid sent out, I think that's going to hurt attendance at the Day of Unity," Pugsley pointed out.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but Pugsley does have a point," Kiki admitted, sounding slightly annoyed. "Thanks to that fox girl, it is going to be very hard to get witches to show up for the Day of Unity..."
"Oh don't worry about that," Beluz told her. "I don't really need a large crowd. I just need my Coven Heads. The Day of Unity will work with or without the people there."
"But what of Calypso?" Flora asked. "You're down one Coven Head."
"Yes, I know that Calypso has gone rogue," Beluz acknowledged before forming a smile. "But that's why I have her aide…"
Meanwhile, Steve and the renegade scouts had indeed managed to escape the castle. Unfortunately, they were still being chased by loyalists and a few SCORN scouts, who remained on the tail. The rebels shot spells behind them as they ran, hitting a few scouts, but more kept coming.
"Get them!" the scout captain ordered.
"After all of that, I can't believe they're still loyal to Belos!" Carter muttered.
"Scameron, are you alright?" Barb asked while holding him as she flew.
"Just… need a healer," Scameron replied, still feeling sore from Leonte's beating.
Wrath, who was with them, used his tendrils to knock away a few loyalists off the side. "We need to lose them!"
Steve looked stressed. Even though they had escaped the castle, their situation was still not good. However, he then noticed some loyalists fall down into a hole that suddenly appeared.
"WAAAAH!" the loyalists shouted as they fell, the SCORN scouts and other loyalists jumping over the pit.
"What the-?!" The SCORN captain shouted before suddenly his body stopped moving when the sound of music playing. He ended up raising his own Abomi-shooter and firing at his own men.
"WAH! Why captain?!" one scout cried as he and the other loyalists became trapped.
"I-I'm not in control of my actions!" the captain shouted.
Then rebels saw the loyalists being taken out one by one. Some fell into and were trapped in more pits, others were dragged into the ground by roots. The rebels were at a loss.
"What… just happened?" Le'Belle asked.
"Why don't you ask us?" a familiar voice asked.
The rebels turned to see the original BATTs come out of an alleyway.
"Boris! Katya!" Steve called out while rushing towards them. "You guys made it out!"
"Eh, more like we were kicked out," Katya admitted as she, Boris, Derwin and Amber came over to them. "But we're not alone, are we?"
"Not alone indeed."
Steve turned and, to his surprise, saw his father along with his half-brother, Oskar. "Dad? Oskar?" he asked in shock.
"Steve, long time, no see," Murray said as he went to hug Steve, which made him wince.
"Ow, ow, that hurts a bit," Steve said as his dad let him go.
"Sorry, I was gonna do ya worse for worrying your mother, but you look like you've been through enough hell," Murray told him.
"How is mom, by the way?" Steve asked them.
"Safe," Oskar reassured him. "When we saw the news about the Day of Unity, dad had to bail out."
"Yeah, couldn't believe that's what we've been working toward the entire time," Murray said with a grimace. "Ulrich never told us anything about a draining spell, that bearded bastard! But luckily, we're not alone."
Coming out of buildings and other places were Dotty, Raw, Henry, Nazgul, and countless other civilians.
"Civilians…?" Le'Belle asked in surprise.
"We saw the news, and decided that we weren't going to take it," Dotty said while holding up an Abomi-Flamethrower. "Time to make Belos's dogs eat fried sauerkraut!"
"Heya, Steve," Nazgul waved to him, smiling. "Thanks for the package!"
"Alright, y'all, are we gonna start this revolution or what?" Raw asked as he summoned Abomi-goo to wrap around his knuckles, making Abomi-goo knuckles. Henry held up a sword while standing in silence.
Steve smiled, in awe at seeing normal everyday witches standing up against Belos and wanting to fight back. "Yeah," he said as he raised his fist up. "We got an Isles to take back!"
"YEAH!" everyone cheered.
Meanwhile, in the mindscape, Luz was flying through the decaying imagery of the Boiling Isles. She had no idea where she was going, she only knew that it had to be away from the Horned King.
She flew through a rotting version of Bonesborough, fleeing from the tendrils coming towards her. She dodged one that hit straight through a building, then another that hit the bridge, causing it to explode. Luz was sweating now as she flew for her dear life from the monstrous deity coming after her.
"Come now, Luz," the Horned King said as he popped up in front of her.
"SHIT!" Luz shouted as she stopped and changed direction while the tendrils followed her.
"Don't you want to join us, Luz?" The Horned King asked while the cries of the souls he devoured echoed throughout the mindscape.
"RUN!" cried out William's voice.
"Save yourself!" Delara's voice cried out.
"Help me!" Terra's voice echoed.
Luz was definitely freaking out, having no plan besides getting away. While glancing back at the tendrils, she ended up hitting a tree. "GAH!" she shouted, falling down to the ground.
Luz groaned as she picked herself up, only to see the Horned King and his black mass now right in front of her.
"Come now, Luz. Join us!" the Horned King mocked as his tendrils drew closer to her. "Just accept your fate, and we'll all be together… and soon your human family will be with us…"
"No…" Luz said before she felt someone grabbing her. "What the-?!"
"GET AWAY FROM HER!" shouted Maya, who threw Luz out of the way of the tendrils… which wrapped around her instead.
Luz brought out her wings as she looked at Maya in shock "MAYA!"
"Don't come any closer, Luz!" Maya shouted as she waved her claws, slicing through the tendrils. "Hey ugly! Didn't someone tell you deer aren't scary! You look so try-hard!"
The Horned King looked down at Maya and raised his hand, sending his tendrils at her.
Maya dodged the tendrils as she turned to Luz. "Go! Run! Forget about me!"
"But Maya-"
"Just run and get out of here, Luz!" Maya shouted while dodging the tendrils as the Horned King focused on her. "Unlike you, I have nothing to lose!"
"But… I don't want to leave you!" Luz told her.
"I know that, but…" Maya felt a tendril wrap around her claw, causing her to wince. "Really, I shouldn't even be here. Hell, I should have died a long time ago! But despite all of that…" She felt another tendril wrap around her other claw as she looked at Luz with a smile. "I'm just grateful for what you did for me. It's… been an honor to be in your head." She was then pulled away, towards the widening jaws of the Horned King.
"MAYA!" Luz shouted, tears in her eyes.
"Just get your ass out of here!" Maya shouted before she was inside the Horned King's jaws. "And Luz… thank yo-"
"DEVOUR!"
The Horned King bit down and Maya's entire body cracked like glass. Her essence was absorbed into his mouth. Maya then rapidly started to decay and rot, her body literally falling into pieces.
Luz watched Maya's fate in shock and horror, before she shut her eyes and started to fly away, not wanting to waste Maya's sacrifice as the Horned King enjoyed his latest meal…
The next day had arrived. The day that we've all been anticipating… the Day of Unity.
At the Head of the Titan, inside the Skull, were the Coven Heads are. Amongst them were the ones in cuffs: Willow, Alador, Sunny, and Napoli. And there were the ones who weren't: Ulrich, Hettie, Vitimir, Osran, and lastly… Emily.
"Such a shame that Adrian had to miss out on this," Vitimir commented while stretching his arms out. "I'm psyched!"
"Yeah, paradise does sound nice," Hettie hummed before turning to Osran. "How's the weather, Osran?"
"Clear skies, perfect for the eclipse," Osran said before turning to Ulrich. "How about you, old friend? If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be here."
Ulrich didn't say a word. He was too focused on his own boots, thinking over what would happen after today…
"I can't believe you guys!"
Everyone turned to Napoli, who was in chains and looking at them in disgust. "It's one thing to be lied to, but you guys are in on the whole Draining Spell?! Gosh! I could kick your butts if I wasn't cuffed!"
"Ah shut it, Napoli," Vitimir told the Bard Head. "You had your chance to get in on this. We would have killed you, but Belos didn't want to waste anymore Heads since Calypso went AWOL."
"How can you all go along with this plan?!" Sunny questioned while glaring at them. "The Isles looked up to you! And you intend to strip witches of their magic?!"
"Tell it to someone who cares," Hettie mocked Sunny. "Sure, I would have preferred a crowd for today. But even without a crowd, everyone's magic will still be drained."
Alador turned to look at Willow, who was sitting next to him. "How are you feeling, Willow?" he asked, checking up on her.
"I'm fine, sir," Willow responded while looking down at own branded sigil. She had received a plant sigil shortly after being taken to the Skull. "At least I know I can rely on someone," she said before she glared at Emily, who didn't acknowledge Willow. "After everything that happened, you still go along with Belos's plans?"
Emily just ignored Willow, disgusting her and Napoli.
"I really thought you were okay after you helped out at the Villa," Napoli said in disapproval before turning to the other guests. "Hunter, how are you holding up?"
"Not… swell," Hunter said as he was chained to the wall with one arm and his legs. Next to him was Eclipsa, who was also chained to the wall. Between them was the Portal Door, the one Belos had stolen from Eda when she got captured. "Eclipsa… I'm sorry about all of this."
"It's alright, dear," Eclipsa replied with a sigh. "I tried talking your uncle out of this… but Philip truly has lost it."
"Um, who is she again?" Vitimir asked Osran.
"Apparently, she's an old friend of the Emperor's," Osran answered. "She's not human, but from another realm."
"Hmm, I wonder what realm you are from?" Hettie asked Eclipsa with a smirk. "I would love to dissect you…"
"That won't be necessary, Cutburn."
The Healing Head paused and everyone turned to see someone flying towards the Heads. They all looked shocked to see who it was…
"Luz…?" Willow asked, only to get a closer look… at Luz's eyes.
"Guess again, Ms. Parks," Beluz said as he revealed himself to the others, who were confused.
"Belos…" Hunter said in shock, which was heard by the Heads.
"BELOS?!" the Coven Heads exclaimed.
"I, uh, didn't know you had a change, sir," Vitimir said while giving a thumbs up. "Congratulations!"
"I did promise a transformation, this was just a gift from the Titan," Beluz said, making Willow, Hunter, Alador, Sunny, and Eclipsa gasp in shock.
"Belos… you didn't!" Eclipsa said.
"You really did take over Luz!" Willow shouted in anger, struggling with her chains. "Her body is not yours to take!"
"Monster!" Hunter shouted at Beluz, who turned to his nephew. "Release Luz's body right now! What did you do to Luz?!"
"Oh, don't worry about her," Beluz told her while walking over to the Heads. "What do the rest of you think of my new look?"
"Take them while they're young, I never thought you'd pull something like that, sir," Hettie admitted.
"Yes, even I couldn't predict that this is what you wanted with her," Osran mentioned while Ulrich didn't say a word.
"Wait, so are you, like, a teenage girl now?" Napoli asked, weirded out and especially disturbed.
Beluz then turned to Emily. "Well? I'm sure you must be shocked to see my reason to spare Luz…"
"I could care less about your reasons," Emily told him, crossing her arms. "Regardless of if Luz is really dead or not, I'm just glad to know that Eda is suffering right now. I'm just waiting for what I've been promised…"
Beluz smiled. "Abel made the right choice. Adrian would be so proud of you."
"Belos, what you're doing to that poor girl's body is disgusting!" Sunny shouted at him.
"She's right, Belos," Alador said as he glared at Beluz, causing Beluz to turn to her.
"Ah yes, Alador," Beluz said to a smile. "You just reminded me that I meant to tell you the news… your little Fae-daughter… is dead."
Alador's eyes widened. Willow, Hunter, Sunny, and Eclipsa all gave shocked looks as well. Even Emily and the other Coven Heads looked taken aback. "W-What? No… you don't mean-?!"
"Amity Goodfellow is gone," Beluz said with a smile. "One less Fae to deal with."
Alador's heart sank and he collapsed on his knees. "Amity… Amity… no!" Tears fell down his face. "No…"
"Amity…" Willow said, still processing the news. "You… you killed her, didn't you?!"
Beluz turned to Willow and shrugged. "When I leapt into her body, Amity was hugging Luz over the death of her brother, so I drove the knife into her heart."
Hunter's eyes widened when he realized what Beluz was implying, "Her brother's death… you… you didn't-!"
"Kill the last Titan?" Beluz asked, shocking everyone. "I had to put down that dog, he was a threat to my plans."
"King?!" Willow shouted, her blood boiling. "You killed both Amity and King?!"
Beluz ignored Willow's outcry as he pulled out a new key for a portal door. He smiled when he saw King's blood in it. "Now then, let's test this, shall we?" he asked as he walked over to the portal door and inserted the key into the keyhole. Once he turned it, the door started to glow and a ding noise was heard as it opened. Beluz looked through the opened door and saw the Human Realm on the portal door. This shocked everyone while Beluz grinned triumphantly. "Yes… it works!"
Hunter and Eclipsa looked at him in disgust, "You're really going to go through with this, are you? Killing those innocent humans? Luz's family are over there! Her step-family, her mom…" Hunter pointed out as he shook. "Gus…"
"Hmm, so Luz's mother and the Porter boy are over there," Beluz said with a sigh. "Unfortunate, but a necessary sacrifice."
"You promised…" Eclipsa was in tears, which Beluz noticed.
"Eclipsa…" Beluz spoke softly, before Eclipsa called him out.
"You made a promise to never lay a hand on that girl!" Eclipsa told him off, surprising him when he saw how angry she was. "You announced and promised that you would never harm that poor girl, despite her Fae status! But now I see that the promises you make are just as empty as your soul!" She glared at Beluz. "You are not the Philip I know! Is your promise to find and not harm my daughter empty as well?"
"I do still intend to find your daughter, Eclipsa, really," Belos reassured her.
"Only to kill her, you mean," Eclipsa countered with a glare.
"I'm not surprised with how many promises he breaks," Hunter said. "Considering that he broke his own brother's promise to protect the werecat reserve…"
Realizing what Hunter meant, Beluz just sighed. "The werecats were a threat, Firebees was a useful tool, something I could use against them. But it doesn't matter now, does it?"
Upon hearing this, Emily's eyes widened and her fists tightened, but she didn't say anything. She managed to keep herself composed as Beluz turned away from the disgusted Hunter and to the gathered Coven Heads. "Now then… bow to me."
"I bow to no mad emperor!" Napoli declared, but the magic chains forced him on his knees. "Ow! Gosh!"
Willow, Sunny, and Alador ended up doing the same, while the rest of the Heads bowed to Beluz on their own. Emily knelt down along with the loyalists.
"My loyal heads… and the other four," Beluz said. "This day shall be our day of glory! The day that we defeat our enemies! The day we earn a paradise free of wild magic! For your loyalty, you will all be rewarded by the Titan!"
Willow looked over at Hunter and the two shared distraught looks. They didn't know what to do now. All hope seemed to be lost…
And yet, all over the Isles, civilians were rising up and fighting back.
In the streets of Bonesborough, a group of scouts were securing the street. Some witches saw them coming and they immediately rushed inside their homes, shutting their doors and their windows. As the group of scouts marched down the street, Jeanie ran towards them.
"Scouts! Scouts, come quick!" Jeanie told them. "There's some wild witches down there causing chaos!"
"Don't worry, ma'am," the captain responded as he led his men down the alley that Jeanie pointed at. "Halt, wild witches!"
But they found the alleyway… empty. No wild witches in sight.
"Where are they?" one scout asked.
"Don't you see they're using invisibility!" another suggested before a cloud of red spray hit them in their faces. "Gah!"
"What the-?!" one of the scouts shouted as they realized something was happening. "Hey, is the world getting larger?!"
"No," the captain realized, he and his men now the size of mice. "We've shrunken down!"
As the scouts started to panic, they were suddenly scooped up in a cage that snapped shut. The scouts looked up and saw Jeanie holding up the cage.
"Did I do good, Tibby?" Jeanie asked Tibbles, who smiled at his girlfriend.
"Oh hon, you are the greatest!" Tibbles replied, the two sharing a sweet hug.
At the location where the Bonesborough Brawl platform was, Perfect Gell was boredly checking on his scroll.
"Is this what the best Belos can send?" Perfect Gell asked while sitting on a pile of knocked out loyalists. "These guys were so easy to knock out!"
"I don't know, Gell," Hermit J. Frog responded while using his scroll to record. "Driva seems to be having fun, are ya, Driva?"
"I will crush you!" Driva Nago declared while he kept punching down on a loyalist. The subtitles on him read 'I'm good, thanks for asking, Hermit.'
"After this, we're all hitting the bars," Gell said while checking his scroll.
In another part of Bonesborough, the Comic Book Wizard was surrounded by a group of SCORN scouts.
"You corporate shills don't stand a chance against me," the Comic Book Wizard declared.
"Oh yeah? What makes you think that, nerd?" a scout asked while holding his weapon.
The Comic Book Wizard unzipped his fanny pack, opening a vacuum. "This!" he declared lightning striking around as the SCORN scouts ended up getting sucked in.
"WAAAAHHH!" they cried as they were sucked into the fanny pack. Then his fanny pack expelled the scouts, sending them crashing into other loyalists.
At the marketplace, a few loyalists were being terrorized by firecrackers, courtesy by Ray and Silent G.
"Down with the Emperor!" Ray declared as the two sent a group of loyalists running. "Yeah! Think they'll make a movie out of us?" he asked Silent G.
"Hmm, probably not," Silent G said, speaking for the first time.
"Yeah," Ray agreed before he threw a ghostball up and swung a bat towards it, hitting it towards the unfortunate loyalists.
Over at Latissa, a group of loyalists had gotten into a tussle with Boils and his boys… it was not going well for them.
Boils slammed a sledgehammer against one loyalist's head, killing him while grabbing his Abomi-Shooter. He held it against another loyalist, shooting him down with it. "Looks like Belos's goons are packing heat, boys!"
"We figured!" Pierre said as he swung his sword, which sparked the air around the loyalists. He hummed 'La Marseillaise' while fighting more of the loyalists.
"RAAWRR!" Marlin roared while slaughtering the loyalists and SCORN scouts, slashing through them like they were made of butter.
One loyalist was about to attack Boils, he was suddenly kicked by Tally Snowpaws. "Glad I caught up with ya, Hardy!"
"Tally! Glad to see you out of office for once!" Boils shouted while punching another SCORN scout.
"Actually, I'm here to ask you for our client in what you have-" She slashed at a loyalist with her claws while grabbing the knife from them and using it to slash across the chest of another loyalist. "-Anything on her manager?"
"Tell her-" Boils grabbed two loyalists and slammed them together with a loud crunch. "We got a file on her manager she can use against him!"
"YAAAHHH!"
Boils and his crew turn to see the loyalists and SCORN scouts getting caught on fire. They saw someone who was responsible for burning them alive, that someone being… Faust.
"This is considered a school district area!" Faust declared while grabbing the Abomi-Shooter, smashing it into goo. "There will be no weapons in my district!" he shouted as he turned to Boils and his men. "They're really a pesky bunch, aren't they?"
Meanwhile, in Metropelvis, a group of loyalists and SCORN scouts were battling… the founding four members of LOWTH and the Teenage Demon Reptile Ninjas.
Tyrone lifted his hammer up, slamming it against the ground to create a shock wave to knock down the SCORN and loyalists. Jumping over him was Koun, who delivered kicks and used her nun-chucks to hit the loyalists.
"Hang ten, Mino-sota!" Koun declared.
Tina blasted her ice magic at the SCORN scouts while Veronica used her plant magic to tangle up the loyalists. Jocho and Fuyuko assisted them by striking down at the loyalists trying to attack them from behind.
"Tina, are you sure you're okay?" Veronica asked while trapping more loyalists.
"I'm fine," Tina said while trapping more loyalists in ice. "Just needed to vent!"
"Venting is a good way to let out your aggression!" Jocho shouted with a grin while curb-stomping a SCORN scout.
"Easy for you to say!" Fuyuko shouted while holding her staff up, blocking the other loyalist's spear before she kicked him away.
Kose dashed through some loyalists as he appeared behind them. He held his swords up and the loyalists all fell down with some injuries. Kose then saw more loyalists getting knocked down, Donna being the one responsible with her keyblade. "How are you doing, Wonder Witch?" he asked her.
"A bit better, thank you," Donna said while in her Wonder Witch uniform. She looked down at her new left hand. It was a purple hand that was made from Abomination matter. She tightened her new hand into a fist. "Still getting used to the new hand though…"
"You know, this is our first first team up," Tyrone pointed out before knocking out a scout.
"Yeah," Veronica realized while trapping a few more loyalist scouts. "Honestly, we didn't even think you guys existed before Felicia introduced you guys to us."
"We ninjas are good at being discreet, you know?" Koun pointed out.
"Well, I owe you guys my thanks," Donna said before blasting a loyalist away. "Since I know that you guys helped to save me, Nina, Cross, Luz and Willow from the Alchemist."
"Hey, just be glad that you guys don't have to worry about him anymore," Jocho replied before using his sais against the SCORN scouts, disarming them before headbutting them.
Donna gave a nod before holding her keyblade back up. "Good to know."
Meanwhile, a camp had been set up at the Torsa Villa. Since most of the buildings had been destroyed or damaged by the fire, tents had been set up for the survivors, who were being helped by healers and other good samaritans, some of them bringing supplies from the other towns. One of the witches overseeing these efforts was Awassi, who provided care.
Chelsea walked over to Jemma, handing her something to drink. "Here, Jemma."
"Thank you, Chelsea," Jemma replied as she drank her cocoa. She still looked saddened for what happened to her Villa, especially over the loss of her sister. "They haven't identified her body yet, have they?"
Chelsea sighed and shook her head. "We're still trying to come up with a list of those who are missing. That will help us identify some of the bodies that we haven't been able to identify yet. But there are still a few bodies that we will probably never be able to identify…"
"Hey, Chelsea," Tony said as he walked over to the cheetah werecat. "We got company."
"Who?" Chelsea asked.
"Coven scouts," Tony said as he pointed up at the airships floating above them. This concerned Chelsea and Jemma. "Don't worry, Awassi said that she is handling them."
Awassi was there to greet the scout loyalists when their airships landed and they got off to speak to her. There was quite a number of them, including SCORN scouts.
"What do you and your men with these… weapons, intend to do here?" Awassi asked.
"Don't worry, we're here to help relocate the werecats to a safer area," the SCORN captain informed her. "Our weapons are a way to… protect the werecats from those that wish to harm them."
"It's a… nice gesture," Awassi said with an unsure tone. "But don't you think this is a little excessive? Especially after what had happened here. And these werecats are still rooting through their old homes, looking for any of their possessions that survived the fire."
"She's right," Jageera said as he stepped forward along with a few others.
The SCORN captain looked at Jageera and sighed. "Okay, you wanna know the real reason we are here? We believe that you werecats are harboring wild witches."
"What? That is absurd!" Awassi told the captain. "These werecats have suffered enough!"
"Admit it," Rosie spoke up while having her arms crossed. "You scouts are just looking for an excuse to harm us, especially since the Day of Unity turns out to be a sham."
"Yeah! None of you have ever helped us before!" Song pointed out. "Other than the few scouts that were nice enough to help."
"Couldn't have said it better myself, Song," Dawn said.
"Hmm, these furballs are sounding pretty treasonous to me," one SCORN scout declared while lifting his Abomi-Shooter up.
"Pointing your weapons at us? Is this how far the Emperor's Coven has fallen?" Awassi asked while bringing out her goat-skull staff, the other witches and werecats also preparing for a fight.
The captain glared at them behind his mask. "Fine, if you wish to do this the hard way," he said as he motioned for his unit to hold their weapons up. "Either you turn yourselves over peacefully or else…"
Tension rose as Awassi along with Jageera and the others stood their ground while the SCORN scouts prepared to shoot at them. But before anyone could do anything, they heard a voice…
"How about a third option?"
Suddenly a large shadow swooped in and toppled over half of the scouts. The captain turned around, surprised to see a living shadow punching and kicking the scouts. When the captain tried to figure out what was going on, another shadow fell over him. He looked up and screamed as he saw a red griffin descend on him.
The refugees and witches were all shocked as a large red griffin landed on the captain. It let out a cry and used its to knock away the scouts trying to round the werecats up. The red griffin then used her talons to swipe the scout's weapons away from them. When one of them tried to shoot her, the griffin changed into someone all the werecats knew…
"Nina!" Chelsea shouted.
Nina kicked the one who was trying to shoot her. She hit him in the mask, causing him to drop his Abomi-Shooter. When more of the scouts tried to apprehend her, they were suddenly tripped by the shadow. "Thanks, Dusty."
"No problem, Nina," Dusty said while still in his shadow form.
The captain got up as he glared at the two; "No, I can't leave empty-hand-AAAH!" He was then knocked out by a lightning spell, making him pass out. Nina and Dusty turned and saw a pair of familiar scouts walking over.
"We got this," Carter said as he and Bowen faced off against the rest of the SCORN troopers. He drew spell circles to summon vines from the ground, which entrapped some of the scouts. Meanwhile, Bowen charged forward, knocking over scouts like bowling pins when he crashed through them.
"Woo-hoo! Take that, Belos's stooges!" Bowen cheered
Come on, let's round them up," Jageera said as he, the Dirty Rats, and others went to round up the knocked out scouts, tying them up, and confiscating their weapons.
After Nina knocked out the last scout, she saw Awassi, Chelsea, and Tony coming over to them. "Uh, hey guys. Sorry that I'm late."
"At least you know how to make an entrance," Chelsea said.
"Um, who is that?" Tony asked, pointing at Dusty, who was still in his shadow form.
"A friend," Nina explained before turning to Awassi.
"Nina," Awassi said as she and Nina hugged. "How is my daughter?"
"Safe at St. Epiderm with Tito, ma'am," Nina assured her. "But we have to move. These scouts will not be the last."
"Do we go up to St. Epiderm?" Song asked.
"No, I know somewhere closer," Nina informed them. "The Bat Queen said that she would be happy to shelter you all in her territory for the moment."
There was some chatter amongst the werecats, some of them being unsure about moving.
"Alright everyone," Jageera called out to the werecats. "We need to move out!"
"We may have to leave our homes behind, but we will be back for them!" Chelsea explained. "The alternative is staying here and waiting for more scouts to come and round us up like animals!"
The werecats looked at each other, all of them coming to the realization that they couldn't stay here at the Villa much longer. Despite their reluctance, they did have to move…
At Satorius Acres, the SCORN scouts were terrorizing the locals, especially in the farmer's market. The people ran and scattered while the loyalists started their take over and trash the place, kicking boxes of fruits and vegetables and tearing down stands.
"We are locking down this marketplace!" the scout captain shouted at the scared citizens. "Either return to your homes or be arrested in the name of Belos!"
"Hey! We won't take shit from you goons!" Lucky told the scouts off while holding a plank. He swung it at them, but was quickly taken down by the SCORN scouts.
"Stay away from mah boy, you hear?!" Mrs. Crissy told off the scouts as she tried to protect her son as the scouts cornered them.
"Hey!" shouted Jackie Courtland, who used spells to drive the scouts away from Mrs. Crissy and Egburt Jr, giving the two the chance to get away. The scouts turned and saw Jackie along with Lindsay, Tracy, Tabrella, and Andrea. "Now that ain't no way to treat folks around here!"
"Like we're gonna listen to a bunch of teenagers," one of the scouts chuckled before a blur sped past them and they realized that they were no longer armed. "WHAT?!"
"Now the field's even," Tracy said after she confiscated their weapons. "Good thing the sigil didn't take away my natural speed."
The captain glared at the five. "Gang up on them!" he ordered as the scouts prepared to attack.
Jackie jumped over and delivered a stomp to the ground, creating a shockwave that toppled over the scouts in front of her. When some tried to surround her, she dropped to the ground with her hands, then spun around to kick them away.
Tabrella was surrounded by some scouts trying to get a hold on her. However, she brought out a needle, which she enhanced with her magic.
"I cast a spell on this needle to hit these scoundrels to where it hurts!" Tabrella declared as she whistled, causing the needle to magically levitate and fly toward the SCORN scouts, going through the kneecaps.
The scouts screamed as they each fell to the ground, feeling the needle running through their kneecaps and crotch areas at such a high speed. With Tabrella's whistling, the scouts were taken out one by one.
However, one scout who saw this decided to draw a spell circle to target her. "Time to stop singing, little bird-"
BONK!
The scout was suddenly hit in the head by a large mallet. That mallet belonged to Andrea, who stood over the other knocked out scouts.
"Not today!" she declared while seeing Billy Bob knocking some scouts down. "Glad to see you decided to join the fun, B-Bop!"
"Yup!" Billy Bob responded before punching a scout while letting Lucky escape.
Lindsay found herself cornered by some scouts who prepared to use their spells on her. "Freeze!"
"P-Please, you don't want to do this…" Lindsay said while hiding her face. "You don't want to hurt me…"
"Oh we will hurt you, alright!" the scout told her.
"Then I guess it can't be helped," Lindsay said as she uncovered her face, showing her red eye as she started to grow. "Madstream smashes puny scouts!"
The scouts screamed as they tried to run, but Madscream stomped over them. She looked around and spotted some SCORN scouts. The scouts saw Madstream and wisely decided to run from the rampaging monster girl.
Tracy joined up with Jackie. "I managed to evacuate everyone but I don't see Apple anywhere," she said while punching a scout.
"Don't worry, she called and said she went to her Ring until the Day of Unity's over with," Jackie responded before kicking one scout in the stomach, sending him crashing into some boxes.
"Typical," Tracy said, rolling her eyes before delivering smacks on the scouts with her speed, toppling them out.
In Lokitown, a group of SCORN scouts and loyalists were patrolling the town. However, they began to fall into some traps.
"GAH!" the loyalists shouted while falling into a pit.
"Gang way!" one of the SCORN scouts shouted as they ran, trying to avoid a large boulder.
The SSE were naturally responsible for the traps that the loyalists and SCORN soldiers were now falling victim to. Korn and the Cerberus sisters were currently running away from the loyalists chasing after them. They made a turn and as the loyalists took the same turn… only for Eve and Sioux to pull a rope, causing the loyalists and SCORN scouts to be trapped in a large net that got dumped into a pit.
"Way to go, Korn, Patti, Cyndi and Blondie!" Linkin told his friends.
"Hey, getting chased by bad guys has paid off a lot," Korn said.
"Yeah, that should take care of this batch," Sioux said.
"Yeah, I hope our other traps got the rest of them too," Eve said.
"I'm sure they have," Linkin said as he turned to Eve. "My traps have never-"
He was interrupted by the sound of Abomi-shooters being cocked. They turned around and saw more SCORN scouts aiming their weapons at the SSE.
"Oh shit, we're surrounded!" Korn cried as their hands rose up.
"Well, it was nice knowing you guys." Blondie said as she and her sisters raised their paws up.
"Now, to take care of you meddling kids…" the SCORN captain said, ready to give the order… until they heard the sound of a trumpet-like tune.
BA-DADA-BADADA!
Everyone looked up to the nearest rooftop and saw the Dragon-Masked stranger standing there, holding his Keyblade up and playing it like an instrument. He then jumped down from the roof and swung his keyblade "Taste the power of the Dragon's Soul!" he declared as it gave off green magic blasts that hit the SCORN scouts before they could do anything.
The troopers fell as the dragon-masked stranger landed on the ground. The SSE stared in awe at the figure before them as he turned to them.
"Everyone alright?" he asked them.
"Y-Yeah, thank you," Eve replied.
"You've really saved our skins, Mr… we don't know what to call you," Linkin responded.
"Call me a friend," he said while holding his Dragon's Soul up, turning around to face the remaining scouts. "You guys should hide, I can take care of things from here."
Meanwhile, at Palm Stings, a pair of scouts were combing the boardwalk.
"Alright, Leonte said to check for any signs of the Clawthornes being around here," one of the scouts mentioned.
"Seriously, we've checked around this place four times now, and there's still no signs of them!" the other complained.
"WAAAH!"
The two heard a cry as they saw a cloud of yellow smoke coming out from an alley. The two charged into the alley way, where they found some of their fellow loyalists trapped in a gooey web.
"What in Titan…?" one of them asked as they backed away, only for a potion to be thrown at them. The potion exploded, which froze them up. "GYAAAH!"
On the rooftop was someone admiring their handiwork. All through Palm Stings scouts were passing out from sleeping nettles, getting tangled in vines due to the magic water balloons thrown at them, or falling into sand pits.
"That takes care of them," Artemis said while drinking one of her elixirs. "For thirty years I've prepared for something like this…"
At the Bonesborough Library, where a group of loyalists passed by, searching the streets for rebels. They didn't notice the trio of Riley, Kyle, and Gavin sneaking past them, Riley hiding them with an illusion as Gavin knocked on the door of the library. Malphas opened up the door and saw the three.
"Hmm, not quite what I was expecting," he told them.
"Yeah, we ran into some trouble and we're looking for a place to hide," Gavin told the head librarian.
"We were told that you have been refuging witches from the Emperor's Coven and SCORN," Riley said.
"And that you need a healer," Kyle added.
"Alright, come in," Malphas said after checking around. He let them inside the library and closed the door. As the three LOWTH members came in, they noticed that some other civilians were in the library, a few of them wounded. "Things are pretty chaotic out there. I just hope Amity's alright during all of this."
The three paused and Gavin looked up at Malphas. "A-Actually, sir. There's… something you should know…"
Outside the library, the group of scouts continued to look around for the rebels who were seen nearby. Suddenly, the library's doors exploded open and dark tendrils popped out, grabbing the scouts.
"WHAT THE FUCK!?" one cried out as he was dragged away.
"Calling all troops! Trouble at the library! Back-up!" one cried through the mirror before hearing Malphas's demonic voice.
"Good, bring them here," Malphas said, his yellow eyes glowing as he dragged the scouts toward him.
Soon a bunch of other loyalists and SCORN scouts came to the library after getting a call. "Alright, what's the deal around here-" The scout was cut off as a yellow circle with demonic symbols appeared on the ground and Malphas appeared in it. "WHAT THE HELL!?"
"I'm glad that you sorry excuses for roaches have crawled out from underneath your rock," Malphas said while in his dark, demonic form. Multiple yellow eyes popped up around his body and his wings. He showed a red, jagged mouth from his beak. His hands formed into claws as tendrils came out from his chest. He stepped off from the book he rode on, showing his large talons stepping on the ground. "Because after what the Emperor has done to my favorite employee, blood must be repaid with blood!"
Those scouts would never be seen again…
In another part of Bonesborough, a group of witches on staffs were attacking the SCORN scouts and loyalists from the sky, bombarding them with spells. These witches were led… by Gilbert and Sully Park. With them were their old flyer derby team, consisting of Bernard, Ron, and Samone.
"Alright, old Ghouls, make sure to avoid the civilians and target those scouts!" Sully commanded while riding on his old pig staff.
"Don't have to tell us twice, Sully," Ron declared while riding on his goat staff.
"Yeah!" Samone shouted while shooting spells at the scouts below. "Take this, you loyalist scum!"
Gilbert, while riding on his old porcupine staff, saw scouts trying to shoot at them with spells. The five witches split up to make themselves harder to hit. Bernard showed his own magical prowess by summoning light beams to blind the scouts while Ron flew down, turning his left arm into a stone fist and punching out the scouts.
"Way to go, Ron!" Sully cheered.
"Nice aim, Bernie!" Gilbert congratulated.
"Don't forget about me, boys," Samone said as she landed, sliding across the ground and spinning her staff, letting out a blizzard that blew the scouts away.
"Alright, Samone!" Ron cheered along with Bernard.
"Alright, that takes care of that group," Sully said while flying next to Gilbert. He noticed his husband's look. "Gill? Are you alright?"
"I'm… worried, Sully," Gilbert admitted. "About Willow."
Sully sighed and looked down. "I am too, Gilbert."
"Who knows what the Emperor is doing to her," Gilbert said, fearing the worst.
"I know, it's scary to think about," Sully said while looking down. "All we can do is pray that she's okay. Though to be honest, I really can't blame Eda for losing her…"
"I know, Sully," Gilbert agreed as he thought about what Eda was going through. "Especially after what happened to her kids…"
Over at Hieron Labs, the place was currently on lockdown. Ruby walked past some of the alchemists, who saluted her.
"Is everything on lockdown, just as Vitimir ordered?" Ruby asked one of the head alchemists.
"Yes, ma'am," he responded. "There's no way the chaos happening outside is going to get into this building."
Ruby smiled. "Indeed," she said as she walked over to the front door and tapped on some keys.
"Um, ma'am, what are you doing?" he asked in confusion. "Our orders were to lockdown the building!"
"I know," Ruby said before the door opened, showing Sarah, Tres, and a group of rebels which included Gidget, Dale, Thunder and Joana. "But we're taking this building."
"Thanks, sis," Sarah said while holding her potion gun, shooting at the head alchemist.
"Oh crap…" he said before he got stuck to the wall.
"Charge!" Dale declared as they went through the building.
Though the alchemists tried to fight back, those confrontations usually ended quickly thanks to Tres draining them. One alchemist did have an opening, but he got attacked by demon squirrels, courtesy of Gidget.
"Thanks," Tres said before taking down another alchemist.
"No problem!" Gidget responded while Dale stood by her side, shooting water spells to blast at the alchemists.
"Woo! This is just like picking on nerds back in school!" Thunder declared as he and Joana knocked down some alchemists.
"You said it, those wimpy nerds," Joana agreed before hearing Sarah clear her throat, making the two look at her. "Um, no offense."
"Y-Yeah! Not you though," Thunder said.
"It's fine," Sarah said before shooting another potion, which led to an explosion followed by screams from the alchemists.
The alchemists in the building tried to contain the situation, but they were soon overwhelmed. After the battle, Ruby walked around with a smile upon seeing many of the alchemists knocked down and arrested. "Good job, everyone. We've taken over Hieron Labs."
"This has been a dream come true," Tres said while seeing all of the Hieron Lab employees defeated.
"Better contact Raine," Gidget told the others. "Tell them that Hieron Labs is ours."
Meanwhile, Nina and Dusty were leading the werecats to the Bat Queen's forest, where they were greeted by the Bat Queen.
"Welcome, all," the Bat Queen declared. "I was told you all needed shelter by Ms. Fangs and Mr. Bringems."
"It is an honor to meet you, Bat Queen," Awassi declared with a bow.
"Thanks for being so cool, Ms. Bat Queen," Dusty said with a bow.
"Yeah, we can't thank you enough for agreeing to this, Bat Queen," Nina told her.
"It is no problem," Bat Queen said. "I have nothing but sympathy for the werecats of the Torsa Villa. They can stay here as long as they need to. After all, they are not the only ones taking refuge here…"
"Alright, calm down!"
Someone came out of the Bat Queen's cave while surrounded by Bat Queen's three children flying around him. Carter and Bowen's eyes widened when they took a look at him. When he saw Carter and Bowen, he paused.
"Carter? Bowen?" he asked.
"Well… this is a surprise," Carter said as Bowen rushed over.
"Oh man! It's so good to see you, Judd!" Bowen declared while giving Judd a hug, which nearly cracked his back. "I can't believe they let you out of prison!"
"Not… exactly," Judd said before being set down.
"Who is he?" Jemma asked Carter.
"Judd, used to go to school with him, used to be a scout until he was caught committing crimes," Carter explained. "He was a dirty scout."
"Hey, I was a delinquent, and tried to go straight. I really did," Judd retorted. "But you know, old habits are hard to quit."
"But why are you here?" Carter asked him. "Is this where you've been hiding?"
"Well… I was actually looking for my old Palisman," Judd admitted.
"Your old Palisman?" Nina asked him.
"Yeah, my Palisman, Scruff," he explained. "He's kinda like a black widow spider. I left him under the Bat Queen's care since I didn't want to give him up to the Emperor's Coven when I joined years ago. When I came here, Bat Queen said that he now had a new owner. So since then, I've been crashing here."
"Well, perhaps it must be fate meeting you, Mr. Judd," Awassi said. "We hope to not disturb you with anything."
"No probs, babe," Judd said, causing Awassi to be taken aback. He then hung his arms around Carter and Bowen, the latter looking far more enthusiastic than the former. "Besides, it gives me time to catch up with these two."
"Pure joy," Carter said dryly.
"Oh man, do we have a lot to tell you, man!" Bowen declared as they all entered the cave.
Jageera looked around along with Tony, seeing the Palismen coming out of the cave to look at the newcomers. "Huh, I guess they're all displaced, just like us."
"Yeah," Tony said as he looked around. "But hopefully this situation isn't permanent…"
Rosie, Dawn and Song went into the cave and climbed onto a large flat stone. "Say, this could make great for band practice," Song suggested.
"We can't play music here without drawing attention," Dawn pointed out.
"Yeah," Rosie said while laying on the flat rock. "But… this can be something to get used to."
Nina was looking around, checking in with the various survivors who were attempting to accommodate with their new, temporary home. Nina did notice that not all of the survivors were with them. Some had stayed behind at the Villa to take their chances with the scouts. Others had decided to go into the other towns instead.
Chelsea walked over to Nina, who noticed her.
"Thanks for getting us shelter, Nina," Chelsea said to her.
"Yeah, it's no problem," Nina replied. "Raine was the one who suggested the Bat Queen."
"Raine? As in Raine Whispers?" Chelsea asked and Nina nodded. "Wow, you know Raine Whispers."
"We only met briefly," Nina said while looking down with a frown.
Noticing Nina's look, Chelsea decided to ask her. "How… how bad is it, Nina?"
Nina looked up at Chelsea and sighed. "You remember Luz…"
Elsewhere in Bonesborough, a group of rebel leaders were meeting in one of the buildings offered to them by a civilian. The leaders consisted of Raine, Steve, Eberwolf, Bunker, Samwitch, Beck, Damien, Drayden, and a crystal ball that projected Professor Atos's brain.
"Alright," Raine spoke up. "Our forces are unfortunately spread across the Isles thanks to Belos and his new strategy, but fortunately his own forces are spread out trying to deal with our people and they are spread out even more thinly. In more good news, Hieron Labs has been claimed and the loyalists near the library have apparently been wiped out."
Eberwolf spoke up, which Bunker managed to interpret. "Eber mentioned that the Bat Queen has reported that the werecats have made it to her territory."
"That is good news, Nina and Dusty must have gotten to them," Raine said.
"We've also managed to secure several airships that we can use," Steve mentioned. "Though, we both know that storming the castle again is out of the question."
"Indeed," Raine nodded in agreement. "Our focus needs to be attacking the Head of the Titan once we have the witchpower we need to get past those Abomatons and deal with Belos and Abel, since we don't want to be unprepared…" Raine then looked down. "But, it still might not be enough."
"I won't allow Belos's robots get between us," Samwitch declared. "I'll destroy them all myself to get to Osran."
Raine shook their head. "We have witches fighting all over the Isles. But not everybody is with us. Many witches would prefer to stay in their homes and wait it out."
"With Andrew and Minerva getting help from the Undertowns, we'll have the witchpower to take the Head and attack Belos from several angles," Beck pointed out.
"There is a good chance Belos has already anticipated this," Staggertarius pointed out.
"I know," Raine admitted while looking down. "But we have to do something."
"What about asking the other Titans for help?" Damien suggested. "They could send extra witchpower."
"I've already thought about that," Raine told Damien. "I already sent the Thians to get help, but I haven't heard back from them yet." They sighed. "Even if Belos didn't already catch them, they may not make it back with help in time before the Eclipse."
"So our best shot at stopping the Day of Unity is to storm the Head of the Titan," Drayden said. "Other than the Abomatons, we'll have to contend with the Heads, Belos, and possibly Abel. How dangerous is Abel?"
"I'm… not sure," Raine admitted. "He wiped the floor with us back at the castle, sure. But he didn't actually kill any of us. He even dumped Boris, Katya, Amber, Derwin, Bunker, and Bindell outside of the castle. He seemed to be trying to delay us more than anything else. He might still try to stop us though…" They paused for a moment before standing up. "Alright, everyone, let's get ready. As soon as we hear back from Minerva and Andrew and have those airships ready, we are going to attack the Head of the Titan before the Eclipse begins. Be prepared to move out. Meeting dismissed."
The rebel leaders were dismissed as they went to prepare. Raine and Steve were soon the only ones left. For a moment, the two just looked at each other.
"Raine," Steve said as he looked over at them. "Do you wanna… talk?"
Raine looked at Steve and gave him a nod. "Of course, Steve," they said, as the two went to talk in private.
Once they were alone, Steve spoke again. "Are you okay, Raine? Just wondering how are you holding up…"
Raine gave a tired sigh. "Not great, Steve," they said. "How about you?"
"Same," Steve responded while looking down. "Amity and Hikari are gone, Sunny's missing… it's starting to take a toll." His hand tightened into a fist. "But I know that I can't give up. Because I don't want Hikari's death to be for nothing, I can mourn later."
"We have to push through to stop Belos," Raine agreed, though they still looked down in guilt. "Especially for Eda… Titan, I wish I was still there with her," they said while wiping the tears from their eyes. "She has lost so much and I want to be there for her right now. I really do. But… I also need to stop Belos. I'm conflicted, but ultimately… stopping Belos is more important, even if I hate myself for not being there for Eda when she needs me the most."
The two fell silent after that, looking down at the ground while thinking about what Eda and everyone at St. Epiderm was going through right now.
Meanwhile, at St. Epiderm, Dr. Bride was checking on the dead bodies of Beocrow, Hikari, King, and Amity in the infirmary. In the room with her were Swan, Eda, Lilith, and Odalia.
"Is there anything you can do for them, Dr. Bride?" Lilith asked her anxiously.
Dr. Bride sighed and shook her head sadly. "I am sorry, but there's nothing I could do for them. I am helpless."
"But… you can revive the dead, right?" Odalia asked her, her face covered with dried tears. "You've revived Lilith before, surely you can revive them-"
"I revived Lilith, but that was because she was only mostly dead," Dr. Bride clarified. "Mostly dead means slightly still alive. But the children here… they're dead-dead."
"But what about Max?" Lilith pointed out, remembering the servant that worked for Dr. Bride. "You brought him back."
"I revived him, yes, but he's not the same person he was before he died," Bride explained. "It is just like how my other creations don't have the memories of the people whose parts I used. I can give life, sure, but I can't restore it if someone is truly gone."
"So… there's really nothing you can do for them?" Swan asked sadly. Eda just stood there in silence while hearing all of this.
"I am sorry, but the soul is far too complicated even for me," Bride told them. "I know someone, Victor Frankenstein, was able to do it somehow. But I am not Victor, nor is he in this realm. Even if I tried to resurrect them, they would no longer be the witches you knew. You might not like what you get instead."
After this, everyone was silent as they processed this information. Eventually, it was Eda who broke that silence.
"FUCK!" Eda shouted as she cried, Lilith and Odalia going over to comfort her.
"Eda…" Lilith teared up while holding her younger sister.
"IT SHOULD'VE BEEN SOMEONE LIKE ME BELOS WANTED!" Eda shouted while breaking down. Lilith held onto her while Odalia and Swan helped to comfort her. "Why did it have to be the kids?!"
"I'm so sorry, Eda," Swan told her.
"We know how you feel," Odalia said with her own tears.
"This is all my fault," Eda cried as she was held by her sister. "Everything that has happened to them is on me!"
"Eda, don't say that…" Lilith said as she teared up.
"I shouldn't have taken in Luz, I should've just left her in the Human Realm with those nuns," Eda said. "She would've grown up safe in the Human Realm, and Amity would still be alive…" she cried as she muttered. "Camila… Gail… I'm so sorry…"
Lilith and Odalia escorted Eda out of the infirmary, bringing her over to Gwen and Dell, who stood outside in the hallway.
"We'll take it from here, Lilith, Odalia," Gwen said as she and Dell helped Eda.
"Thanks, mom, dad," Lilith said solemnly as Dell and Gwen escorted Eda to the rest of the family, who were also grieving. Lilith looked down in guilt before turning to Odalia. "I'm sorry, Lia… I should've protected Amity…"
"Lilith, stop," Odalia told her while holding onto her shoulder. "I do not blame you or Eda for this, even if I know you two will blame yourselves anyway… just as I would." She looked down in guilt, tears in her eyes. "I joined the CATTs to prevent something like this from happening to Amity. But now my worst fears have come true." She sighed while looking… tired. "And I know I'm not the only one affected by Amity's death."
Lilith looked at Odalia, knowing who she was referring to. "I know…"
"I'm going to check on Ed and Em," Odalia said before walking away. "They're going through so much right now and I have to be there for them… especially Emira."
After Odalia left, Lilith turned to her family. Everyone was mourning the loss of Luz, Amity, and King. As she walked over to them, she saw Gwen and Dell consoling Eda, who continued to cry.
"We're so sorry, Eda," Gwen told her while hugging her daughter, tears falling down her face.
"We're here for you," Dell said while also in tears.
"Eda."
Eda turned to see Denise walking towards her. She went to give Eda a hug, much to the Owl Lady's surprise.
"I'm so sorry, Eda," Denise said sadly. She knew what Eda was going through, since she herself was a mother who had just experienced losing one of her children. Eda hugged her back, both of them over their losses.
As Lilith watched her sister, she felt Blazer nudging her with his head. She turned to see him and Hooty. Lilith teared up before she hugged them both. Blazer hugged back while Hooty laid on Lilith's shoulder while shedding a few tears.
In the distance, Jak, the orphans, and Ban were watching Eda in mourning.
"I've… never seen Eda like this," Jak admitted, feeling bad for Eda.
"Losing your children is the worst experience any parent could go through," Ban told him with a sad sigh.
Jak looked up to Ban and then looked back at Eda. He couldn't help but sympathize…
Emira wasn't doing good at all, even while being surrounded and comforted by Ed, Geist, Viney, Bela, and Tamme. Edric was suffering over the loss of his younger sister as well and Geist was comforting him, letting his nephew cry onto his shoulder while Emira was being held by Viney as Bela and Tamme were also there for her.
Emira was a mess. Not only did she have to deal with the death of her baby sister, but she also had to deal with the loss of Hikari, someone who helped her deal with her own demons. She felt… lost.
"Emira."
Everyone turned to Odalia, who spoke her eldest daughter's name as she came into the room. Emira looked up at her mother, saw how distraught she looked. After a moment, Emira stood up, nodded to Viney, walked over to Odalia… and hugged her.
After that, Emira cried into her mother's shoulder as Odalia rubbed her back, crying as well. Odalia also nodded at Edric, indicating for him to come over as well as they all mourned over the loss of Amity.
Bela, who had her mask off, watched Emira and Odalia comforting each other. Bela had also taken the loss of Hikari hard, since she was saddened to have her friend gone. She looked down and then heard someone say her name.
"Bela," said Glinda, who came into the room. The mostly silent girl turned to her. "There's… someone here who wishes to see you."
Bela looked confused by this, but she followed Glinda into the hall. She then paused when she saw who was waiting for her. Bela's eyes widened.
It couldn't be, she thought.
"Bela…" spoke Cana as she appeared in front of her twin sister. Cana looked to have recovered from her curse Bela gave her a long time ago and now she stood in a red and black gown with black boots. "It… it really is you."
"Cana," Bela said in shock. "L-Look, I… I'm so sorry-"
But to Bela's surprise, Cana went to immediately embrace her sister. Bela was surprised by the hug, but she was especially surprised by Cana… crying.
"BELA!" Cana cried as she held onto her sister. "I… I thought you were dead… they said you went into the Forest of Fear and I thought you died because of me…" she cried while letting her emotions out.
Bela's head was going through a lot of emotions. But ultimately, she ended up hugging her twin. She held onto Cana, letting her cry onto her while Bela shed tears of her own.
Two sisters finally reunited.
Meanwhile, the Ghoul Girls were together as they comforted one of their friends, Brenda, who was crying over Amity's death and Luz's fate.
"I… I can't believe they're…" Brenda cried while Drusilla hugged her.
"I know, Brenda," Drusilla said while patting her back.
"This whole thing is a lot to take in," Gnashley said while looking stressed. "Losing Ester, getting sigil branded, and now these deaths… it's just too much…"
Belawolf snarled in agreement while laying her head on Brenda's shoulder.
That was when Dr. Bride walked over to them, which Helga noticed.
"Hello, Helga," Dr. Bride said to her.
"Oh… hey, Elizabeth," Helga responded in acknowledgment.
"I, um, just wanted to stop by and see how you've been doing while I was here," Bride told her. "And I see you're doing well, which is good."
"Uh, thanks for the concern," Helga said awkwardly. "Oh, and thank you for the heads up about the Day of Unity."
"You're welcome," Bride said. "I am glad that you and your friends were able to get to safety."
"Well, most of my friends…" Helga said with a sigh. "So… how are Iggy and Max? I heard Max is back."
"They're doing well," Bride said before falling silent for a moment. "It's… good to see you, Helga. And seeing you surrounded with friends. I'm glad that you're doing alright on your own."
And with that, Dr. Bride hurried off, Helga watching her go.
"Yeah, thanks," she said, looking down.
In another room, the Bad Girls Coven members were residing. They included Cat, Skara, Boscha, Tom, Star, Amelia, Matt, Bo, Jerbo, Barcus, Morty, Summer, Angmar, and Ukla.
"You sure there isn't anything we could do?" Jerbo asked Morty. "Like any of your grandpa's gadgets?"
"No, grandpa has already declined Operation: Phoenix," Morty answered sadly.
"Yeah, Rick never messed with resurrection," Summer admitted. "Hell, we can't even contact other Ricks since they want nothing to do with a magical Rick."
"This… this can't be it," Bo said while looking down as Matt comforted her. "Luz… Amity… they can't…!"
"I can't think of anything else we can do," Skara said while looking down. "King is dead, Amity's dead, Luz is lost, we don't know where Willow and Hunter are, Gus is still in the HR…"
"We… lost…" Cat said, looking devastated.
"Bullshit!"
Everyone turned to Boscha, who had spoken up as she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed. "I call bullshit on this. You guys may think this is over, but I say it's not. I say there has to be a way to save both Luz and Amity, cause I refused to give up and accept their fates!"
"Boscha…" Amelia spoke in shock.
"Did Luz and Amity give up when the Coachman tried to kidnap you guys when he turned you into donkeys?" Boscha pointed out. "Did they give up on trying to save Gus from Emily during the Glandus War? Did they give up on me when I tried to off myself? Did they give up when they had to travel through Hell and the Underworld to save Ed and King from Mel? Did they give up when they had to stop Terra and the Inner Demon from destroying the Isles?" she listed off. "Even if the entire world is against them, they never gave up! Belos may have beaten us this quarter, but he hasn't won the game! Because I refuse to give up on them, Luz and Amity have done so much for us, and it's time we repay them back!"
Everyone was surprised by Boscha's rousing speech. After a moment, Jerbo also spoke up.
"She's right," Jerbo pointed out. "Luz and Amity have done the impossible before. After everything they've come back from, they can probably come back from this as well. Look, we can all just grieve and mourn all we want, but I don't think I want to give up on them."
"I mean, there might be a chance to save Luz from Belos," Angmar admitted. "But what can be done for Amity? She's dead."
"You guys know Puck, the Fae that Belos killed publicly?" Boscha asked them and they all nodded. "Well, he turned out to be still alive. I don't think Belos knows that the Fae can come back. Amity may only be part-Fae and she didn't turn to dust like Puck did, but there has to be a way for her to come back like he did…"
"Oh, there is," said a new voice.
Everyone was startled as they turned to see a cloak-wearing figure in the room with them. The figure removed his hood, showing a face that most of them recognized…
"It's nice to finally meet the whole gang," Puck said. "For those of you who don't know me, I'm-"
"You!" Boscha shouted as she backed away, feeling a lot of anxiety as Tom went to comfort her.
"Hold up, don't panic," Puck reassured Boscha while holding up his hands. "I'm not here to harm you, Boscha. I know you have every reason to hate me, but please, hear me out."
"Well you better explain yourself soon, pal," Tom told him. "I've heard a lot about you, and what you've done to Boscha, and the others."
"Ah, so you have heard about me," Puck said, frowning. He turned and saw Star holding up her glowing hand and aiming it at him. "Huh, I don't know you…"
"Just know that I'm not afraid to use this," Star warned him. "I may not know who you are, but you don't seem to have the best reputation…"
"I know, and I'm sorry, for everything I've done to Boscha," Puck said solemnly as he looked at Cat, Amelia, Bo, Skara, Matt, Angmar and Ukla. All of them looked surprised and slightly panicked. "And, um, sorry about that night at Hexside."
"Yeah, we remember…" Bo said warily.
"Luz did mention about you being possessed by the Inner Demon at the time," Skara said, though she still looked unsure about Puck.
"Yeah, the Inner Demon took over me when I reformed in the Forest of Fear," Puck explained. "I wasn't myself at the time… but I do deeply regret hurting you all."
"Look, man, just explain why you're here if you want to be cool with us," Morty said.
"Yeah, though we might not like the answer," Matt said while crossing his arms.
"Okay, to give you the short story," Puck began. "Kitsuni actually sent me here."
"Kitsuni?" Star asked.
Puck nodded. "She's not here, since she is getting some help. I just came ahead of everyone else." He looked down. "To be honest, I never thought that I would return to the Isles, but when I heard about what happened to Amity, I knew I had to come back." He looked up. "Because I know a way to bring back Amity…"
Meanwhile, in the mindscape, Luz continued to fly around in an attempt to try and escape this decaying, warped plain.
"There's got to be a way out of here," Luz said while flying around through the decaying version of Latissa. She had to be careful though, since she wanted to avoid being found by the Horned King, who she knew was hunting her.
Once she crossed over the bridge, the world around her became even more warped, confusing her. She hit a lamp post, causing her to fall down and land on the white floor. After tumbling across the floor, she groaned and got up and looked around the area.
"Where… am I?" she asked, looking at the twisted hallway with decaying lockers. "This place… definitely not Hexside," she said before looking down on the floor. Her eyes widened upon realizing where she was…
"Luz Clawthorne."
Hearing the familiar voice, Luz turned around and saw a gray and white version of a former enemy of hers… Emily Tricks, back in her Glandus uniform and holding the Sword of Adam.
"Emily…" Luz said as she saw Glandus-Emily charge at her. "W-Wait!" She flew up and dodged the sword.
"You… you will pay for all the pain you and your mother gave me!" Glandus-Emily declared as she swung her sword at Luz.
Luz dodged the sword before she delivered a kick to Emily. However, Glandus-Emily twisted her body around to avoid the kick before appearing behind Luz. The human Titan had to dodge Emily's sword again, using her claws to catch the sword. Glandus-Emily pushed her sword towards her, but Luz kicked her away from her.
Glandus-Emily glared at Luz and charged at her again. "You'll pay for ruining my life, Clawthorne!"
"Shut the fuck up!" Luz shouted as she dodged Glandus-Emily. Luz flew through an open door, thinking it might be a way out. After she went through the door, she saw Glandus-Emily charging after her, so Luz slammed the door in her face, causing Glandus-Emily to run into it with a loud bump. Then Luz turned around and found herself outside…
"Hexside?" Luz questioned as she looked up at the decaying version of Hexside, its walls eroded and falling apart. Her ears then picked up something, causing her to duck underneath the knife coming at her. "The hell?!"
"Nice dodge, Luz," spoke another familiar voice in a mocking tone.
Luz saw the shadowy figure before her and her eyes widened. It was a gray and white version… of Demon-Puck.
"Puck!?" Luz exclaimed, seeing him back when he was possessed by the Inner Demon. "No… you're not him!"
"Oh, am I?" Demon-Puck asked with a grin as he charged at her with his knives. Luz used her wings to help protect her against the knives. "I tried to be your friend, Luz, but you rejected my friendship! And then you got me killed! This is your fault!"
As Demon-Puck kept targeting Luz, she flew up above him. But Demon-Puck just flew up to attack her. "I know this memory, you're just possessed by the Inner Demon, Puck! He's not here anymore!"
"Are you sure about that?!" Demon-Puck asked while changing into the Inner Demon. Luz then happily shot a fireball at him, causing him to hiss.
Luz flew away from Hexside. When she looked back, she saw Demon-Puck flying after her. Then she looked back and saw that she was flying toward a cave. Before she could stop herself, she went into the cave and everything was suddenly dark…
"AAAH!" she screamed as she hit some rocks, making her fall and land on the ground. "Not again…" she groaned as she got back up and looked around. She was in a cavern alright, but it looked vaguely familiar to her. "Wait, this is…?"
"The same place where you killed me."
Luz paused, turning around and seeing another familiar face. This time it was a certain cambion succubi. "You…"
"Hello, little fake cambion bitch," Trini said as she grinned at Luz while spreading out her own wings and claws. "Time to put you in your place!" she shouted while launching herself at Luz, taking a swipe at Luz.
Luz stepped back as she used her scales to block the attacks. Luz then cast an ice spell, but Trini blocked it with her wing before she punched Luz and tackled her onto the ground.
"I thought you'd be tougher by now, Luz," Trini said before stepping on Luz's head, pressing it into the ground. "Oh, is seeing me igniting some kind of buried guilt? Why would you feel guilty about killing the one who hurt you, your aunt, and your little girlfriend's mother? Why feel guilty over the death of a bitch who can't even pass onto the afterlife!?"
Luz snarled as she drew spell circles. "Get off of me!" she shouted before sprouting ice from her hands to help push Trini off of her. Once she was back up, Trini tried attacking her again, but this time Luz expected her and she flew up to dodge the attack. However, once she flew up, she found herself looking up on the ceiling of a greenhouse. "What the-?!"
She looked around and realized that she was in the Plant Coven.
"The Plant Coven?" Luz asked before noticing vines all around the walls. She looked around and saw another figure coming over to her.
"Oh look, if it isn't the pesky little Clawthorne in my domain!" Terra Snapdragon declared as she made herself known. "I've got a score to settle with you!" she shouted before sending her vines and carnivorous plants at her.
Luz dodged the plants while attempting to use her own plant magic to counterstrike it. She managed to summon a small flower… that was immediately destroyed by Terra's plants.
"…yeah, I'm still nowhere close to Willow's level yet," Luz admitted as she used fire and ice spells on the plants instead. Terra then summoned a large vine to slam onto Luz, who spun her way through the large plant.
"What's the matter, Luz? Can't beat me?" Terra asked as she grew taller so that she was on Luz's level. She swung at Luz, who flew away. "I thought you'd be more ruthless? After all, I did kill that pesky bee kid who exposed me!" She laughed as she launched more vines for Luz to burn off. "But instead of trying to avenge him, you ran! Ran and hoped someone else would have the guts that you lacked!" She saw Luz trying to fly away from her. "Yes, keep flying away from your problems! Run away from the blame! The guilt!"
Luz looked back and saw Glandus-Emily, Demon-Puck, and Trini popping up through Terra's vines. All ready to take her on.
"This is your fault!" Demon-Puck declared.
"You will pay for what you've done!" Glandus-Emily shouted.
"My blood is on your hands!" Trini added.
Luz only snarled in anger, her eyes glowing. "Would you all SHUT UP!" she shouted, firing flames around her and wiping out the vines. "All of you… just shadows of my past… I'm sick of it!"
She flew up and drew a few spell circles, shooting fire and lightning spells all around. Her first target was the Glandus-Emily.
"You chose to antagonize me, my family, and my friends over what my mother did to you!" Luz shouted while shooting flames at Glandus-Emily, burning her alive… so to speak. "You had no reason to target me and the people I cared about, your grudge was with Eda! You had no right to act holier than thou!" she said while burning her.
"YAAAAHH!" she cried as she melted. "I'm melting…!"
Luz then turned to Demon-Puck. "And you," she said as she summoned ice spikes to shoot at him. "You were possessed, influenced by the Inner Demon. He influenced you into doing those awful things to my friends! Thank Titan you didn't kill them." She saw the ice spikes hit Demon-Puck before she shot him with lightning magic with her spell circles. "And we made amends, so I am over this!"
She saw Demon-Puck getting hit before turning into dust. Trini flew behind Luz, but Luz just turned around and punched her in the face, knocking her to the floor. "As for you, bitch," Luz said as she kicked Trini while she was on the ground. "You chose to antagonize me… why? Because I mistakenly believed I was a cambion? Because I was given false information? Or were you just looking for an excuse? After all, you followed Mel, you spiked Lilith and Odalia's food, you helped kidnap my brother and Edric! Yeah, I feel guilty about killing you, but since you're not real, I won't feel guilty about this!" She then shouted her 'weh', obliterating Trini again as she screamed in pain and agony before she was reduced to nothing but paste.
Now there was only Terra, who was attempting to target Luz without being seen. But Luz spotted her and turned to her with anger in her eyes as her hands burst into flames and she threw those flames at Terra, causing her to scream.
"And then there's you! You, are nothing but a crusty old #%^$ who dedicated her life to living up to everything Angel and her goons believed about witches! Were you ever a good person? Or were you always this horrible, always this miserable and pathetic? Beel was right in exposing you and his death was not in vain!" She then cast more flames towards Terra, incinerating her.
"YAAAAAAAAHHH!" Terra screamed as she became dust.
After wiping them all out, Luz took a short breather. She looked around and saw the world around her start to shift and break apart. She was left standing on the lone piece of floor left.
"Luz."
Luz turned around and was shocked to see Amity was there. "Amity?" she asked, before noticing something on Amity's chest… a knife. "Amity!"
"Don't step any closer to me, Luz," Amity said as she backed away, confusing Luz. "You… you did this to me…"
'W-What?" Luz asked her. "Amity, what did you mean-?!"
"After you killed Belos, I went to comfort you," Amity told her, holding her chest while looking down in tears. "I… I left my family for you, I gave my love for you and risked my life time and time again for you. And yet after everything we've been through… you stabbed me in the heart," she told her, shocking Luz.
"But… but I didn't-" Luz raised her hands up, only to see blood on them. "What…?".
"Why…?" Amity asked her "Why did you do this to me, Luz?" Amity asked before blood started to come out of her eyes, along with her mouth and nose. "Why did you kill me? The last words you told me was… die, Fae. Do you hate me that much?!"
"Amity, no, I would never say that!" Luz cried out before a memory jogs in her mind.
"Die, Fae."
Luz looked down to see herself stabbing Amity in the chest. Amity looked at her in pain and confusion, before she fell. And as the memory faded, Luz remembered.
She killed Amity.
"No…" Luz said in realization. She fell to her knees, grabbing at her hair as she teared up and started to break down. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" she screamed as she banged on the piece of the floor, crying and breaking down into a tearful mess. "Amity… I'm so sorry… please forgive me…" She sobbed. "Please…"
"I found you."
Luz's eyes widened when she heard that voice. She turned around and in the darkness that now surrounded her, she saw a pair of burning eyes.
The Horned King had found her…
The eclipse was almost about to begin with the sun moving to block out the sun, which meant that if the rebels were going to make their move on the Head of the Titan, it had to be now.
On one of the hijacked airships was Raine and Steve with Steve piloting. Le'Belle, Meg, Hugh, Dale, and Cle were piloting their own airships with other rebels. With Raine and Steve on their airship were Drayden, Cross, and Zee.
Raine held their mirror. "This is Alpha Team calling Beta and Gamma teams."
"Beta team is here on the ground."
On the ground, Calypso was with Damien, Claire, Eberwolf, Samwitch, Athena, Beck, Simon, and Cain along with other rebels like Sandra, Nazgul, Roxy, Dotty, Boris, and the original BATTs as they approached the Head of the Titan.
"We haven't seen any Abomatons yet, Belos must be keeping them close," Calypso said.
"This is Gamma Team," Minerva said as she, Andrew, and a group of their underground brethren were with Bindell and Bunker as they tunneled their way through the group. "We're below the Head now."
"We're gonna give Belos a crazy surprise attack!" Andrew declared.
"Alright, team. Let's begin our strike," Raine declared.
"Uh, hey Raine," Dale called out to them. "Abomatons ahead!"
Everyone looked ahead and were able to make out a group of Abomatons that were positioned around the perimeter of the Head of the Titan. Once they made themselves known, they project a purple light beam. That light beam spread out, forcing the rebels to come to a complete stop as they saw that the Head of the Titan was now covered entirely by a purple force field.
"What in the Titan?!" Athena asked.
"Aren't those Alador's Abomatons?" Sandra questioned.
"Yeah, but the Emperor's Coven purchased those," Calypso pointed out. "I didn't know they were capable of this…"
"What about underground?" Katya pointed out. "Surely those force fields can't go underground…"
Team Gamma continued to dig until Andrew stopped upon hitting something.
"Why did you stop?" Minerva asked.
"I hit something," Andrew responded as he brushed the dirt off, showing something made of stone. They saw certain lines and a swirl symbol on the dirt. They were glowing purple, which caused confusion. "What is that?"
"Could it be one of Belo's mechanisms?" asked a Groundhog unit member, formerly a scout.
"Those markings…" Bindell said with a curious look.
"I don't know what it is, but it sure is blocking our way," Andrew said as he hit the stone… which moved. "What the heck?!"
A purple glowing eye appeared and looked at them. The wall cracked open, causing the Gamma team to back away as the wall completely burst out, revealing a large rat worm. But it wasn't any regular rat worm… it was made of stone… and looked like it had mechanical parts.
"AAAIIIEEEE!" the mechanical rat worm screeched, its entire body composed of brown stone with purple lines and swirls around its worm-like body. The sides of it popped open, showing white pointed spikes that shoot purple lasers at them. The stone rat worm's glowing purple mouth started shooting at them as well.
"Retreat!" Andrew shouted as he rolled around while Minerva and the other undergrounders ran back as well, fleeing from the attacking mechanical rat worm.
Meanwhile, at the Grom tree, Puck and the Bad Girls Coven members had gathered there along with Eda, Lilith, Odalia, Ed, Em, Geist, Angmar, Ukla, Sam, Acorn, and Ghost. Matt, Ukla, Amelia, and Jerbo were using their magic to open the ground, following Puck's instructions.
"Stop," he told them. "That will do. Now to place Amity's body in."
Sam carried Amity's body over to the hole, gently placing it down. Matt, Ukla, Amelia, and Jerbo then started filling the hole up.
"Are you sure this will work?" Lilith asked Puck.
"Yeah, this feels more like a hasty last-minute funeral," Boscha said, looking uneasy.
"I can assure that this is all part of the process of Amity's rebirth," Puck explained to them. "Because Amity is only part-Fae, she can't reform like other Fae can. The only way she can come back is as a full Fae and burying her like this should make that possible. Now, while it is true that the Fae are deeply attuned with their emotions, there is also a connection between the Fae and nature. If we put Amity in the ground like this, she might be able to create that connection between her and the Isles, allowing her to come back as a Fae. However… there are still risks involved."
"What kind of risks?" Emira asked him.
"Well… chances are that she may not come back at all," Puck admitted. "And since her death was a traumatic one, she may come back as a Fae, but with no memories of who she was… or she might be completely insane."
"And you're just now telling us this!" Boscha snapped at him, making Puck cringe.
"Hey, give me some credit! Those risks are why we are burying Amity like this, in an area with significance to her and with people who are familiar to her present. It gives her an anchor, which should help her if she comes back."
"That still sounds… concerning if you ask me," Geist said.
"Of course, I'm not quite sure what will happen," Puck admitted while they finished burying her.
Ed looked over to his mom. "What do you make of this, mom?"
"Well, I'm not sure," Odalia mentioned while looking down. "But I do hope that Amity comes back from this."
"She has to," Eda told her. "And it's worth the risk."
"Uh guys," spoke Matt, who noticed that the light was dimming. "I don't mean to scald on everyone's parade but… the eclipse…"
Everyone looked up and noticed that the sky was getting a little redder as the moon started to cover the sun…
"Oh no…" Lilith whispered while rubbing her sigiled wrist.
"Oh crap," Danny said as he looked out the window in St. Epiderm, noticing that the eclipse was about to start.
"What is it, Danny?" Fan asked as she, Kevin, and Bump came over.
"It's starting," Danny told them with a worried look. "The eclipse is about to start…"
After the founding LOWTH members and the Reptile Ninjas settled their battle against the SCORN troops, they noticed something up in the sky.
"Is that?" Veronica asked with a worried look.
"The Day of Unity, it's starting," Kose said, just as concerned.
Donna looked over at the Head of the Titan, narrowing her eyes at it. She gripped her keyblade, wanting to stop this.
After Lindsay and her friends finished saving the Acres, they noticed the eclipse about to start.
"Oh no, the eclipse!" Tabrella shouted, pointing up.
"Shit!" Tracy cursed as she rubbed her own wrist. "I… I don't want to be drained, guys."
"Don't worry, we're here for you, Tracy," Lindsay assured her as they were joined by other locals who looked up in the sky with worry.
Back with the werecats, Nina, Dusty, Chelsea, Judd, and the Bat Queen noticed the eclipse about to start.
"We're fucked, are we?" Judd asked while looking at his own sigil.
"What do we do?" Chelsea asked Nina, who said nothing while remaining in silence.
Nina was worried about how this would go… but what she was most worried about… how it would affect her mom and her triplets?
At the library, Riley, Gavin, and Kyle were helping out the refugees inside when they noticed the light from the glass window was dimming down.
"It's happening, isn't it?" Kyle asked them.
"The Day of Unity…" Gavin said with worry.
"Are we… too late?" Riley asked the other two, who didn't have an answer.
Boils lit his cigarette while sitting on a pile of loyalist bodies. With him were his crew and Faust.
"You smoke, Fausty?" Boils asked him.
"I don't need to smoke. My body's already a furnace," Faust told him. "And for that matter, you shouldn't smoke in a school area."
Boils chuckled. "Then I guess I should give myself a drink," he said as he brought out a flask of appleblood. "Gentlewitches, it's been an honor."
Tally, Pierre, and Marlin gave him nods as Boils shared his flask with each of them.
At Hieron Labs, Sarah, Ruby, and Tres looked out the window to see the eclipse. Sarah was holding a crystal ball.
"Are you seeing this, dad?" Sarah asked him.
"I have, Sarah," Staggertarius said. "And the Head of the Titan is shielded. It appears that Belos may have won…"
"No, no this can't be happening!" Tres shouted in anger. "There's no way Belos won!"
On the airships circling the Head of the Titan, Zee noticed the eclipse and gave a worried look.
"Zee… grandpa," Cross said, looking worried.
Drayden gave his grandchildren hugs. "Come here, you two," he told them as Zee embraced her grandfather. "I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…"
"I… I don't want to have my magic drained…" Zee said with a scared tone.
"Zee…" Cross said as he hugged his sister. "I'm so sorry…"
In Lokitown, the SSE and the dragon-masked figure looked up to notice the eclipse.
"The eclipse is starting!" Korn exclaimed.
"Oh no…" Eve said as she fell back.
The dragon-masked stranger looked up in concern before he turned around and dashed away. Linkin and Sioux notice him leaving.
"Where are you going?" Linkin asked.
"To do something about this!" he declared before vanishing.
Sioux then heard her scroll ding and when she and the SSE looked at the scroll, it showed Beluz.
"Is that… Luz?" Patti asked.
"No," Sioux realized. "That's Belos possessing Luz…"
"Children of the Isles!" Beluz shouted as he projected himself over Bonesborough, where the Parks and their flyer derby team saw him. "The Day of Unity is about to commence! Now I know all of you may not be on board, but you all must celebrate…"
Donna summoned her staff, which Tina noticed.
"Where are you going, Donna?!" Tina asked her.
"I'm going to try to put a stop to this!" Donna declared as she got on her staff and flew up, passing a projection of Belos.
"For this shall be a day long remembered…"
"…as the day that I will fulfill my destiny and save the Isles from wild witches and the human threat!"
Leonte thought about these words as he led a group of loyalists to follow the rebels who tried to storm the Head, planning on trapping those rebels between the shield and them.
"Human threat…" Leonte repeated.
"For too long, our world has been threatened by an insidious pox. But today, that changes. A new era begins."
Once the moon completely covered the sun, the sky became red. The ocean fell still. At the Head of the Titan, the Draining Spell began. At the circle where the Coven Heads were, Beluz smiled when he saw the eyes of his Coven Heads start to glow.
"Paradise, here I come!" Vitimir cheered happily.
"Checkmate," Beluz said with a grin.
Boils winced when he felt his magic getting drained and he collapsed, Tally catching him.
"Boils!" Tally cried out, holding him while also being affected.
"This… is going to hurt," Boils winced.
"AAAHHH!"
Some of the werecats started to get affected by their sigils, including Jageera. Awassi knelt down, feeling her magic drained. Nina rushed over to help her.
"Awassi!" Nina shouted as she held onto her. "Oh no…"
"I don't…. feel so good…" she said while having the yellow cracks form on her face.
At St. Epiderm, West and Winter looked around in confusion.
"Say West, what's happening to them?" Winter asked.
"I don't know, sis," West responded, seeing Aries and the Row parents fall down along with some of the St. Epiderm students and refugees, including Morton. "Everyone's just collapsing left and right."
"GAAH! I don't want to lose my magic!" Jerry cried as he panicked, seeing Ban nearby.
"Me neither!" Ban shouted as he and Jerry hugged it out, crying over being drained.
Watching this, Jak looked at the other kids. "We're fucked, aren't we?"
"Fanny? Fanny, hang on!" Danny cried out when he saw his sister fall. "Please! Hold on!"
"Dan…" Fanny groaned as her oracle sigil brand was affecting her. "I'm not done… picking on you…"
"You can pick on me all you want, just stay with me!" Danny cried while hugging his sister. "I'm always here for you…"
Fanny teared up and hugged her brother as well. "I'm so sorry…"
"No, I'm sorry," Danny said in guilt "For not protecting you…"
With the Beta Team, some of them were starting to feel the draining effects.
"Athena!" Samwitch shouted while he started to feel drained, seeing his sister kneel over.
"Cain!" Simon shouted while seeing his brother fall down. "No!"
"We're… too late," Beck said in shock and horror, watching others including Sandra fall down.
"Dammit…" Sandra said as she teared up. "I'm sorry… Eda…"
Samwitch growled in anger and punched the force field. "BELOS!"
"Gilbert!" Sully shouted, seeing his husband fall onto the roof along with Ron and Samone. "Gilbert, hang on!"
"Willow…" Gilbert groaned while feeling drained.
At the Grom tree, Odalia had fallen over. Fortunately, she was caught by Lilith and Eda.
"Odalia!" Lilith cried in shock.
"Mom!" Ed and Em shouted as they rushed over.
"It's… it's happening," Odalia said as she saw her sigil glowing with yellow lines growing around her arm. "The Draining Spell…"
"Odie!" Geist shouted as he knelt over. "Listen, you're going to be okay!"
Odalia chuckled slightly as she felt herself getting drained. "Please, don't lie to me, Geist…"
As Geist teared up and hugged his sister, Ed and Emira noticed something about their uncle.
"Uncle Geist…" Emira said to him. "Why isn't your sigil glowing?"
"Huh?" Geist realized as he looked at his sigil. "Hey… why isn't mine glowing? I… I don't feel drained at all!"
Back at the Head of the Titan, Beluz noticed that some of the colored platforms weren't glowing like the other four, causing him to be confused.
"I… I don't understand," Beluz said while looking around. "Why aren't all of them glowing?!"
"Did you set it up right?" Hettie asked.
"Of course I did!" he declared. "I did everything right! The Draining Spell should only work with all nine Heads." He flew around as he looked at them. "Everyone, show me your sigils!"
Vitimir, Hettie, Osran, Ulrich, and Emily held their arms up for Belos to check their sigils. He looked at each of them, grabbing their arms in the process. He then went to Emily and went to grab her arm… only for his hand to phase through it.
"Wha…" Beluz said as he looked up at Emily, who sported a smile.
"Oops…" Emily said as she gave a laugh before she poofed away, revealing herself to be an illusion.
Beluz's eyes widened in shock as he realized that Emily Tricks was gone.
"What the-?! Where the hell is Tricks?!" Hettie exclaimed.
"I can't believe it… she bamboozled the Emperor!" Vitimir cried out in shock. "Why didn't you foresee this, Osran?!"
"I… I don't know!" Osran shouted. "I saw that all would be here!"
"Enough!" Beluz screamed while turning around. "We need to find Emily Tricks and-" He then saw Willow, Alador, Sunny, and Napoli poof away as well, revealed to be illusions as well. "WHAT?!"
It was then Beluz started to realize what was happening. Without all of the Coven Heads present, he couldn't complete the Draining Spell.
"No…" Beluz said before he realized where Emily and Willow must have gone.
Inside the Skull, Hunter and Eclipsa saw someone coming over to them.
Hunter smiled. "What took you so long?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Emily said as she and Willow started to free Eclipsa and Hunter, Emily using her flames to melt through the chains.
"Are you okay, you two?" Willow asked them as she helped Eclipsa and Hunter to their feet.
"We're good, thank you," Eclipsa responded with a nod.
"Yeah, other than needing a new arm," Hunter said before turning to Emily. "I knew you were acting all along, I was just wondering what your game was," he admitted.
"Hey, I was acting as well," Willow pointed out.
"Sorry for the suspense, but I had to wait until the last moment to enact my plan," Emily explained to them. "I knew that if I did it any earlier, Belos would have been able to adjust his plans accordingly. But since the eclipse is already underway, he has no time to adjust his plans. He's screwed."
Hunter nodded. "So what's our next move?"
"TRICKS!"
Emily sighed as she and the others turned around to see Beluz flying inside the skull. He landed and glared at them. "You think you can make a fool out of me? THINK AGAIN!"
Emily summoned Pretty, bringing out her staff while Willow got into a fighting stance. "Hunter, you and Eclipsa should get out of here. We'll take care of this," Emily said.
"But-" Hunter said, only for Emily to cut him off.
"Hunter, you're literally missing an arm and you don't have your staff," Emily pointed out. She glanced at Eclipsa. "And I assume you won't be much help either."
"Not without my wand," Eclipsa admitted.
Hunter wanted to object, but he realized that Emily was right. He sighed. "Come on," he told Eclipsa as he led her away, leaving Emily and Willow to stand off against Beluz.
"You know, I always figured me and Luz would end up fighting in some way," Willow admitted to Emily.
"Funny, I also always figured me and Luz were due for a rematch," Emily told her.
Beluz just glared at them before he charged at them.
Meanwhile, back with the other Coven Heads…
"Admit it, Ulrich, you and Emily are in cahoots somehow!" Vitimir shouted as he pointed at the Construction Head accusingly. "You're some kind of triple agent!"
"I keep telling you before I have nothing to do with this!" Ulrich told him. "Do you honestly think I'd compromise my sons' safety?! I did my part!"
"Look, let's all calm down," Hettie told them. "Besides, as long as we remain on the platform, we'll still drain all of these witches' magic."
"She's right," Osran responded. "Even if five out of nine are missing, we'll still have all the magic to ourselves…"
"Not for long!"
Suddenly, Osran felt a punch to the face as he fell off his floor. The Coven Heads looked shocked when they saw that Osran had been hit by a flying purple Abomi-fist. Hettie was then zapped by a spell, causing her to fall back.
"WHAT?!" Vitimir exclaimed as he and Ulrich turned to see their attackers.
"It's time to step off," Alador declared while with his Abomination. Standing side by side with him were Sunny and Napoli.
"You won't be draining magic with us around," Sunny declared.
"Time to unlock my supreme Bard skills!" Napoli shouted as he unwrapped some weights from his arms and legs, throwing them at Vitimir and Ulrich, causing them to take a step back… as the weights crashed through and broke the platforms.
"Oh crap…" Vitimir said, seeing the color-coded floor broken.
The Day of Unity was officially canceled.
Back in the mindscape, Luz was panicking as she flew around to try to escape from the Horned King. The demon laughed at her, knowing her escape was futile.
"There's got to be a doorway out of here," Luz said as she flew through the decaying woods… only to fly into a black void. "Huh?"
"Fall."
Luz suddenly fell to the ground, or what felt like the ground, as she felt the overwhelming presence of the Horned King. "Nononono…" she said as she tried to get up.
"You are alone, child," the Horned King's voice echoed. "There is only darkness for you and only death for your people. Your efforts are futile… you are futile…"
Luz strained herself as she tried to get up. "No… you-"
"Let me tell you a story, child…"
Luz gasped as she saw the world around her change. She was suddenly suspended in the air, but she did not fall. Instead, she looked down and saw a desolate world covered in volcanoes.
"Before there was time… before there was anything…" The world vanished and Luz found herself in the dark void again. "There was… nothing… and before there was nothing…"
Luz looked down… and her eyes widened in horror.
Beneath her was an army of demons and monsters of all shapes and sizes. She also saw Heartless in the army. All of them were reaching up to Luz… or so she thought.
When she looked up, she realized they were raising their limbs in reverence instead. Because towering over the army, towering over even her and the Horned King was an enormous dark figure with wings, horns, and yellow eyes. He sat upon a throne and looked down at the army. He gave his cruel smile and the army cringed in fear.
"There were monsters."
As Luz looked up at the dark figure, she felt shaken down to her core. She turned to the Horned King and saw that he was more humanoid now. He was also looking at the dark figure. He almost seemed… nostalgic.
"I remember… war."
The environment shifted and Luz found herself in the middle of a battlefield. Luz, confused, looked around and saw demons and monsters fighting against one another. She then spotted a past version of the Horned King, whose red cloak billowed behind him. He was riding on a skeletal horse along with three others, whose faces and features were hidden by their cloaks.
"What is…?" Luz asked.
"There was once a war, a war in which me and my brothers served and fought for Lord Satan," the Horned King explained to her. "The Chernabog."
Luz looked around and in the distance she spotted the huge dark figure from before, Chernabog, fighting some winged figure that she couldn't make out. Luz and the Horned King watched the battle.
"In his war against the usurper, me and my brothers were Chernabog's leading generals of his army… his Horsemen. But then… our master was defeated by the wielder."
Luz saw Chernabog fall thanks to the winged figure, who was holding a keyblade. The keyblade shone after striking Chernabog down, but before she could see what happened next, the world around her started to shift and in place of Chernabog was the Horned King falling down to another world.
"I remember not what happened to Chernabog. I remember not what happened to my brothers. After the war was lost, I remember… falling. I fell until I found myself in a new world. A world of my own, a world I could feed on… a world where I could be my own God."
The scene changed and Luz saw the Horned King sitting atop his own throat, surrounded by a decaying world with the husks of the planet's former inhabitants. It was a world now completely devoid of life. Luz was horrified, but the Horned King looked almost… bored.
"And yet, I was not content. But as I pondered my fate, those from the stars came…"
Luz looked up and saw four tall figures in hoods coming down from the stars and floating above them.
"The Archivists," the Horned King said and Luz noticed the venom in his voice when he mentioned the name. "They came to my world and then tried to destroy me…"
There was a bright flash and Luz tried to shield herself as the world around her burned away. When the light died down, Luz saw a meteor falling down a familiar-looking planet.
"And once more, I fell. I fell until I ended up in another world… a world you call home."
Luz saw the crater in which the meteor landed. Some curious witches approached the meteor, only for tendrils to pop out of the meteor and grab the witches, causing them to scream. Luz turned away as the Horned King began to feed.
"I was excited. A new world to feel on. But then… the Archivists followed me. They would not stop until they destroyed me. But then… another war…"
Luz suddenly found herself in another battlefield. All around her, she saw fire and the dead bodies of Titans, their bodies resting in the scalding waters where they would eventually become islands that life would spawn from. In the sky she saw strange blue star-shaped entities flying overhead and in the distance she could make out strange mechanical-looking giants.
"Once I learned that the Archivists couldn't harm the Titans with their magic, I sought to take advantage of this. I would finally destroy my enemies, I would finally be left in peace. But I was tricked!"
Luz suddenly found herself floating in front of a large Titan. This Titan had a skullcap that resembled her brother's. He had glowing yellow irises with black pupils, four horns, crooked teeth, a full black beard, a muscular, furry body, and large wings. He looked like King if he were to have a mega-form. Behind him were five giant mechanical-like beings behind.
"King's dad…" Luz said in awe.
She watched as the Horned King, who was now as large as a Titan and in his bestial form, tackle into King's dad. The mechanical beings rushed to his aid, but the Horned King swung at them, knocking them away. As the Horned King wrestled the Titan to the ground, Luz spotted a small figure floating nearby. She was glowing and although Luz didn't recognize this figure, she did recognize what she was holding.
It was a keyblade. Donna's keyblade.
The glowing figure seemed to hesitate, but King's dad nodded at her. He roared something to the glowing figure, who aimed her keyblade at the Horned King. There was a bright flash.
"I was tricked into possessing that Titan," the Horned King recounted. "I did not know that he had help from another keyblade wielder. Thanks to the keyblade's power, I was sealed away, locked beneath the bones of the Titan…"
Once the light died down, Luz saw a mortally wounded Titan laying on his back in the Boiling Seas, the Horned King nowhere in sight. The Titan had fallen into the position that she knew would form into the Boiling Isles.
"Even if the Day of Unity fails, it matters little," the Horned King explained as the world shifted again and Luz saw images of Donna with her keyblade. "Belos could still use the girl and the keyblade to free me. The weapon that helped to imprison me will be my salvation."
"Donna…" Luz gasped, seeing Donna kneel before Belos before the world faded away again.
"Either way, it is only a matter of time before I am freed and let loose upon the Human Realm, which will only be the first world to fall to me. And after that, I plan to travel from realm to realm, world to world, devouring billions in order to sate my never-ending hunger. I will be the end of that world and many others! You can not stop me, Luz. You cannot stop this. I have been patient and now I. Will. Feed."
Luz looked distressed before she was once again face to face with the Horned King. She looked around and saw that the darkness around her seemed to be consuming her. "It's like I said, there is only darkness for you, Luz. You are truly alone…"
She was in the water… but she wasn't sure if she was drowning or not. She didn't even know if she was awake or asleep.
"Amity…"
She heard someone calling her name. It wasn't someone she knew. Yet she couldn't help but feel like she had heard that voice before…
"Amity!"
She opened her eyes just as a hand reached into the water, grabbing her hand. She was immediately pulled up from the water and she found herself standing up on the water. Her hair covered her face, so she moved it and wiped her eyes.
"Who…?" Amity asked while her vision blurred. She blinked a few times and her vision started to clear up. She saw what appeared to be some kind of Hooty-like figure… but when her vision cleared up, she saw that it was a mini-Hooty sticking out of the eye-socket… of a larger Titan before her.
"King…?" Amity asked in shock.
"Not quite," said a familiar voice. "Down here."
Amity looked down and saw King before her. The actual King. She gasped, tears streaming from her eyes.
"King!" Amity shouted as she knelt down to hug King. "Oh thank goodness you're here!"
"I know, and you're here too!" King declared, hugging her back.
After a moment, Amity let go of King. "Wait, but then… who's he?" she asked as she looked up at the larger King, who just chuckled.
"Haha, I may not be a king, but he does get his good looks from me," spoke the taller Titan before them. He had a shaggy appearance with dark gray fur and a skull similar to King's except for having four horns, with two slightly cracked. His right eye was missing and a small Hooty-like creature emerged from the empty socket. He had large bat-like wings on his back and a large furry tail. His outfit consisted of a 'Bad Girl Coven' shirt, a brownish bathrobe with a lighter brown trim, and a pair of pants with many glyphs depicted on them.
Amity's eyes widened in realization. "No way… you're…"
"Amity," King said. "Meet my dad, Papa Titan. Dad, meet Amity Goodfellow, my sister's girlfriend and kinda my sister-in-law."
"Nice to meet you, daughter-in-law," Papa Titan said as he raised his claw for Amity to shake.
Amity gaped at Papa Titan in shock before she suddenly became confused. "Wait… I… how did I get here?" she asked before starting to remember what happened. "At the castle…"
She remembered she, Luz, Eda, and Lilith were battling Belos after he killed King. After Luz beat down Belos, she remembered going to comfort her, hugging her, and…
"Die, Fae."
Amity gasped and started to tear up as the trauma hit her. "Luz… why…?!" she asked in sad confusion, tears falling down her face as she held her chest and started breathing quickly. "No… no, I can't believe…" she cried, causing her to start to sink while Papa Titan and King rushed to comfort her.
"Amity, Amity listen," Papa Titan told her, getting Amity to listen to him as he pulled Amity up. "This was not Luz's fault."
"It… it isn't?" Amity asked him.
"Think about it, Amity," King told her. "Remember what Luz explained to us, about how Belos uses a spell to link his mind into hers?"
"Luz destroyed Belos's original body, but he was able to hijack Luz's body while it was vulnerable," Papa Titan told her. "And he took that opportunity to kill you. Luz wasn't in control, Belos was." He sighed. "Unfortunately, he is far too gone to be saved at this point… but Luz isn't."
"Then… Luz didn't…" Amity looked down at herself. "Gods, why am I so stupid? Of course it was Belos, we forgot he can hijack Luz's body at any time!" Amity wiped her tears away.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up, kid," Papa Titan told her. "You were hurt and confused. You didn't have any time to process what was happening. So don't be angry at yourself."
"Right, I should be angry at Belos, that no good snake…" Amity muttered before she saw a cube floating up from the water next to her. That caused to look around for the first time and realize how strange her surroundings were. "Just… where am I?" She looked back at King. "Wait… you're dead, I'm dead, does this mean-"
"Oh, you're not in the afterlife, kid," Papa Titan told her.
"Yeah, this place is the In-Between, a place between… between a lot of things. I ended up here after I was killed," King explained. "Dad brought us both here."
"But… why?" Amity asked while looking at Papa Titan.
"Well, first of all, I actually wanted to get to meet my son," Papa Titan pointed out. "And second of all, I wanted a chance to talk to you, Amity. I have been wanting to talk to you for some time, though I still wish that the circumstances were different."
This confused Amity… and made her nervous. "Why would the Titan want to talk to someone like me?" Amity asked. "Are you… offended about me not believing in you?"
Papa Titan just gave a chuckle. "Hohoho, it's not like I demanded to be respected and worshiped. No, I'm not offended, so you don't have to worry."
"Yeah, he is a lot like me," King said.
Papa Titan sighed. "Honestly, I blame Belos for using my name to justify his atrocities," he said regretfully before turning to Amity. "As for you, I have been watching your adventures with Luz and my son, King, for some time. And I must say, I am grateful to you for being good to him."
"It-it's no problem, your majesty," Amity replied.
"Please, enough of the formalities," Papa Titan told her. "But I will admit, I've taken an interest in your journey. From denouncing your family to slowly accepting them back into your life and taking action to save them. Although my special interest in the Blight Family is nothing new."
"It… isn't?" Amity asked in surprise.
Papa Titan chuckled again. "You're not the first Blight that I've spoken to. That honor would go to one of your ancestors… Abra Blight," he revealed, which shocked Amity.
"Abra Blight?!" Amity asked in surprise. "Adam's… father?"
"The very same," Papa Titan nodded. "But Amity, before I continue, I must ask you to listen carefully, because we don't have much time and we have a lot to go over, so I don't want to have to repeat myself."
"Yeah, Amity," King said with a dead serious look. "It's a matter of life and death…"
Amity nodded quickly. "I understand," she said, needing to hear more.
Papa Titan then began to explain. "You see, Amity, after the being called the Collector took his son, Abra Blight went up to the Knee to get away from it all and lose himself. While he was up on the Knee, I was able to speak to him… and I helped him."
"To say I was… devastated would be an understatement," Abra had told Odalia during her trip to the past. "I ended up going to the Knee to lose myself and I stayed up there for a very long time. I didn't intend to come back at all…"
He fell quiet for a moment, remembering his time on the Knee.
Abra Blight was on the Knee, walking through a storm until he reached his cabin. After starting a fire, he took off his coat and sat in front of the fire, staring at the flames. His breathing became slower and slower… until he was no longer in his cabin.
Instead, he found himself in a void staring up at the Skull of the Titan, a light shining from one of its eyes.
Abra then looked down at his hands and his eyes widened.
Sometime later, under the guidance of the Titan, Abra was in his cabin working on the first Abomination. It was a small one and he had crafted it well. After finishing the Abomination, its form began to change until it began to resemble a witch…
"But when I came back down, I had a new purpose. I was ready to make a difference in the lives of others… and I had learned to create Abominations during my time on the Knee," Abra explained to Odalia. "So I shared what I had learned with others and started to make Abomination products that would make everyone's lives easier."
Amity's eyes widened in realization. "No way… so that's how Abra learned how to create Abominations and how to create Adam… because of you," she said as she looked up at Papa Titan.
"Yep," Papa Titan confirmed. "And he never gave me credit for it." He chucked. "Just kidding, of course. I saw the state of the Isles after the Golem rebellion and after the Collector took away an entire generation of witchlings. I knew I had to help. So I chose to instruct Abra, while also giving him the chance to be a father again by showing him how to give a soul to his creation."
"But… I'm still not sure why you're telling me all of this-" Amity said before she then started to remember her Abomination, Phil. "Phil… Phil didn't gain sentience until after I visited the Knee, just like Abra did…"
"I didn't make a report about my mugging out of fear of how I'd make our family look. I have to keep up appearances and not show weakness. Blights are supposed to be the strong and elite, but I'm neither of those." Amity was still holding her wand. "I hate this elitist lifestyle our parents enforced upon us. I hate that I have to act cruel to others just because I'm part of a high-class of witches." The tip of the wand started to glow purple magic. "I HATE that I can't stand up for myself over a stupid family name!" Her eyes glowed pinkish purple as she looked at a tree and shot a fire blast towards it after making a circle with her wand, incinerating the tree. She fell onto her knees, breathing heavily while tears formed. "I don't even know who I am anymore."
Sometime later, Phil had knocked out one captain away from Amity and Luz. He blocked the petrification ray and started to turn to stone. He gave them one final look, before giving a thumbs up.
"M-Moms…" Phil said while giving a thumbs up before being completely petrified.
"Phil…" Amity said in shock.
"For weeks I've been wondering how it was possible," Amity said while looking down. "How Phil could gain sentience." She looked up at Papa Titan. "You were trying to speak to me on the Knee, weren't you?"
Papa Titan sighed. "I tried, but I was too weak," he admitted. "However, because you are Abra's descendant, I wish to share the knowledge I shared with him with you."
Amity hesitated. "But… I'm not a Blight anymore," she pointed out to him. "I've denounced that name, and to be honest, I'm not worthy of Abra's legacy. I took the name and my family for granted…"
"Amity, you're more worthy of the Blight name than Arthur, Destiny, and most of Abra's descendants," Papa Titan pointed out to her. "They all forget what Abra used his gift for: to help the Isles. Instead, they put their focus more on their own greed and need for power. That is why I did not share my gift with them. Especially how to give a soul to an Abomination. Just imagine how Arthur or Destiny would have abused that ability…"
He looked down at Amity. "Unlike them, Abra created Adam out of love. Yes, I know how corny it sounds, but that is the answer. Amity, you are a Blight, or at the very least, you are what the Blight family used to be. Even if you blame yourself for driving your family apart, you also inspired them to be better…"
Amity thought about what he said, remembering some of her conversations with her family…
"Do you… resent me for disowning the family name?" Amity asked, shocking Em. "I know that we don't have the best relationship, but just as much as you picked on me you also tried to watch out for me. You resent dad for enabling what mom does, so do you also resent me for leaving you and Ed?"
Emira looked at her baby sister before replying. "A part of me does, even though I am glad that you stood up to mom like that. Amity I… ever since I learned about your mugging, I have been taking a long hard look at myself and the kind of witch I am. And… I am not proud of it. I wish I could have been a better big sister, I truly do. And I'm afraid of what Viney would think of me if she could see this, the real me." Her voice sounded upset. "Because of all this baggage I'm afraid that I might be stuck with just Edric forever… or that I might not even have him and I will just be alone. When you left, it tapped into that fear."
Amity took her sister's hand. "You won't be alone, Em," she told her. "Because I know that deep down you're a good person, and people like you for that, including Viney." She went to hug Emira, surprising the older sister. "I'm so sorry for everything that you had to go through. Everything you had to deal with because of me." Tears streamed from Amity's eyes. "I should've been more fair to you."
Emira dropped her cigarette and put it out with her foot as she hugged her sister back. "Don't apologize, you have nothing to be sorry for, I'm the one who should've been a better sister."
"I know that you're not perfect… but I forgive you anyway. Because I would never ask for anyone else to be my older sister," Amity told her as the two tearful siblings hugged.
Odalia sighed. "I know that this is really awkward and I understand that it must be hard for you to be in the same room as me… but I just want to say that I'm sorry, Amity. I'm very sorry for everything. I know that I wasn't the best mother to you, Emira, or Edric…" She paused to take a deep breath and collect herself. "I know that maybe it is too late for me to be the mother you needed me to be, but I want to still be a part of your life, if you would let me. If not, then I'll stay out of your hair. But I promise you that I can be better for this family."
Amity was quiet for a moment, feeling Luz holding her hand as she got ready to respond. "I… I accept your apology."
Odalia looked up at her hopefully. "You… you do?"
"Well, you helped Luz and Lilith to help get me and my friends back," Amity replied. "And I do appreciate that. But I do still need some space and some time before I'm ready to forgive you. But helping Luz and apologizing is a good start… so I'm willing to give you a chance to prove that you're good on your word."
"Thank you, and I promise that I won't fail you again," Odalia assured her.
Amity turned and saw Edric coming in.
"Amity…" Edric said to her.
"Oh, Ed," Amity responded. "Um… you want something?"
"I… I think we need to talk about some things before you go," he said.
"I know," Amity said, pausing. "And I just want to tell you that you're right… what happened to our family was my fault."
This horrified Ed. "W-What? Amity-"
"Don't deny that it isn't true, Ed," Amity told him while packing up. "If I had just talked things out with mom, then we wouldn't be in this mess. But I was so angry that I ended up cutting not just our parents from my life, but you and Emira… all of this could've been prevented if I had just talked things through…" She wiped away her tears. "I am so sorry for tearing this family apart…"
"No, no Amity, I should be the one who needs to apologize," Edric responded. "I was the one for being an idiot and a jerk."
"No, you had every right to be mad at me for my decisions," Amity argued.
"Amity, I get why you did it," Edric told her. "Just let me take the blame-"
"No, no you've been put through a lot, I pulled the trigger-"
"I should've been a better brother to you and supported you-"
"-You needed the attention and I didn't give you any-"
"-You went missing, Mel was the one who tricked me-"
"Why can't you just blame me?!" the two shouted at each other.
After a moment of silence, Ed spoke. "Ams… we have to agree that all of this happened because Mel manipulated and alienated me from my family."
"I know," Amity responded. "But we should acknowledge that I could've done better rather than run away from my problems to live with my girlfriend and her family."
"I'm not innocent either," Edric responded while looking down. "We both tried to run away from our problems. I could have talked to any one of you guys as well, but instead I vented to Mel and she got into my head as a result. And you were happy here, but now you have to leave because of the mess that I got you in."
"I guess that we both could have done some things differently," Amity admitted. "We can't do anything about it now… but what we can do is just… forgive each other."
Ed nodded and the two hugged it out. "Yeah, I like that," he said while holding onto Amity. "Thank you for coming for me, Mittens."
Amity sniffed. "No matter what, we're still siblings," she said. "I love you, Edric."
"I love you too, Amity," Edric said, fighting back tears.
At the wedding, Amity turned to Luz, who encouraged her with a nod. Amity then walked up to Odalia, who was surprised to see her coming over to her.
"Amity, I-" Before Odalia could finish, her daughter embraced her in a hug.
"I'm glad that you're here," Amity admitted. "And I just want to say… I forgive you, mom. For everything."
Odalia's eyes widened, tears leaking from them as she hugged Amity back. "I… thank you, Amity."
"Dad… I'm so sorry…" Amity said to her father.
"Sorry? For what?" Alador asked her in surprise.
"For abandoning this family," she admitted, tearing leak from her eyes as Alador's eyes widened. "I ran away from my problems instead of talking to you or mom and working things out. But I was selfish. I thought only about myself and not about how my actions affected the rest of the family."
"Amity…" Alador said as his daughter cried.
"If it weren't for me this family wouldn't have fallen apart. You wouldn't have been put under the grasp of your parents again, and the divorce wouldn't have happened…" Amity was teary-eyed as she felt her father embrace her… in a hug.
"Amity, Amity, stop this nonsense right now," Alador said as he held his daughter, letting her cry into his chest. He couldn't let her be this way. He hated seeing her blame herself like this. "Listen to me, it is not your fault."
"But it is…" Amity sobbed.
"No," Alador said and as he listened to his daughter sob, he was hit by a realization. "If anyone's at fault… it's me," Alador told her. "I am the one who should be blamed."
"No dad, you shouldn't," Amity told him, looking up to him. "You were under mind control."
"But even before that, I could have talked to you," Alador pointed out. "I could have come over to the Owl House any time. And I also could have stopped the twins from running away, but… I was so angry at your mother at the time. And as always, I buried myself in my work and made that my priority while ignoring the rest of my problems."
"But you were trying to help your siblings…" Amity said.
"Yes, but that's no excuse," Alador said as he reflected on his actions in horror. "Titan, it took me more than a week to reach out to you, Ed, and Em for a talk. I could have reached out to you long before then, but I didn't." He paused. "I'm… I'm a terrible father." He looked down at his daughter. "Oh Amity, I am so sorry."
"Dad…" Amity said while wiping away her tears. She was at a loss of words. "Maybe… you should give mom a chance and talk to her."
"You… think I should?" Alador asked her.
"Well, she has been trying to change for the better," Amity pointed out. "And maybe… maybe you can change as well. We've all hurt each other in one way or another, but maybe we could all learn from the experience and be a family again."
Alador had his doubts, but when he saw his daughter's hopeful expression, he managed to give her a nod. "I think… I will consider it."
"Yeah… I did, didn't I?" Amity realized.
"Indeed," Papa Titan told her. "And I'm familiar with how you have been unable to summon new Abominations after Phil. I know that you've been burdened by guilt."
"Yeah… I think I'm broken…" Amity said while looking down.
"No, you're not," Papa Titan reassured her. "And what I'm going to tell you next will be a shock to you… Phil isn't gone."
Amity's eyes widened once more. "W-what?"
Back at the Head of the Titan, the battle between Coven Heads continued. Hettie threw her scalpels at Alador, Sunny and Napoli, Alador blocking them with an Abomi-Wall. Vitimir threw his potions at them, leading to an explosion.
Alador protected both Sunny and Napoli from the exploding potions as Sunny drew a spell circle to summon a swarm of see-gulls. They flew up to bother Vitimir, who swatted them away.
"Gah! Get them off!" Vitimir cried out as Osran held his crystal ball to send purple flames at them.
Napoli summoned his keyboard guitar as he played some music. "Time to show off my musical skills!" he declared as he tapped on the keys, shooting lightning bolts at them. Ulrich dodged the lightning bolts and held his hammer up, ready to slam it down and create a shock wave. But before he could do that, Alador summoned his Abomination matter and wrapped it around Ulrich, engulfing him.
"I'm very disappointed in you, Ulrich," Alador told him. "I always believed you were a witch of principle. I respected you. But the way you sold out my family to the Emperor… the way you endangered these kids, which led to Willow being branded and Eda's son and my daughter getting killed! You made me lose one of my own children while I was helpless to protect her!"
"Please… Alador," Ulrich said to him. "My sons…"
"They're protected, aren't you?" Alador asked him with a glare. "Sure, Belos can protect your kids as long as you do as he says. I did the same for my kids… but he killed my daughter anyway."
Suddenly, Napoli grabbed a scalpel out of the air before it could hit Alador. He turned to see Hettie was the one who threw the knife. "Gosh! You could've killed him!" he told her off.
"Just in the eye," Hettie said before finding herself being covered in rats. "What the… RATS?!"
"Go! Take them down!" Sunny shouted while commanding her animals. She sent rats, birds, bugs, and squirrels to swarm the Coven Heads.
While the Heads fought back against the animals, Napoli strummed his keyboard guitar, which managed to knock the Coven Heads off the platform. Osran channeled his crystal ball to catch the four of them in the air and Ulrich used a spell to soften the ground as they landed.
"You know I think the difference in what Belos does is because Ulrich's sons are normal, while your daughter was a Fae, Alador," Osran told him with a sneer. "It was her own fault that she became a Fae! It was her own fault that she got killed by him!"
This set Alador odd as he glared at Osran. "Now you've done it…" he snarled as his face became red in anger and Abomination goo started to cover him.
Sunny and Napoli split off while Alador turned into an Abomination form of his own, the Coven Heads' eyes widening when they saw Alador change into something similar to Darius. His golden eyes shone behind his goggles as four tendrils grew from his back and two of his arms grew larger.
"You just had to piss him off, do you, Osran?!" Vitimir complained while bringing out more of his potions. He threw them at Alador, who swatted them away. Alador jumped down and slammed onto the ground, causing the Coven Heads to scatter. Alador then shot his Abomi-goo at them, the goo hardening into sharp spears.
Hettie dodged the spear but it hit her headdress. She shot back at Alador with an ice blast.
Vitimir ducked but his hat wasn't so lucky. It got cut into two, which made him panic. "My hat! My precious hat!"
Oscran tried to run, but the spear landed in front of him. "Gah!" he cried as he fell, making him drop his book and crystal ball. He saw his crystal ball rolling across the ground and he reached out to it… only for a spear to hit it, splitting the ball two. This caused some ghosts to come out, including one who was very excited to be out.
"I'm free!" Ester declared while laughing madly. "I'm finally free!" she shouted before spotting Osran below her. She glared at him. "You! You'll pay for what you pulled at my school!"
"Looks like both Ulrich and Osran are going to have a heated day," Vitimir commented as he got up, only to see Napoli blocking his way. "Out of my way, Napoli!"
"Not without a fight," Napoli declared before he delivered some kicks at Vitimir, making him back away. Vitimir blocked the kicks, but then Napoli threw a punch and managed to hit Vitimir in the nose.
"My nose!" Vitimir complained, glaring at Napoli. "Now you're going to get it!"
He pulled down his mask and attempted to knock Napoli out with his putrid breath, but Napoli managed to roll away.
Meanwhile, Hettie saw Sunny floating down with the bird demons helping her fly down. Hettie scoffed. "So you think you have a chance against me? Do you even know how to fight?"
"I may not be much of a fighter, but I have picked up some new Beast-Keeping techniques from Eber," Sunny declared as she drew a large spell circle above her which went down to her boots. She started to transform. "Beast-Transformation!"
When Hettie realized that Sunny was transforming, her eyes widened. After all, she knew how dangerous Eber could be with their transformations…
"Time to take you down!" Sunny shouted… while in a white rabbit form. Rather than look scary, she looked absolutely adorable. This caused Hettie to burst into laughter. "What's so funny?!"
"Hahaha! You… you think you look threatening in that form?!" Hettie laughed at her. "I expected something scary, but this is ridiculous!"
Sunny pouted before she realized that Hettie had lowered her guard, so she jumped up towards her. "Heyah!" she shouted as she tried to deliver a kick towards Hettie's face. However, Hettie instantly grabbed her ankle, catching her kick.
"Nice try, little bunny," she said before throwing Sunny across the ground. Sunny flipped over and landed on the ground, Hettie marching towards her. "But I'm not so easy to take down…"
Meanwhile, Napoli was dodging Vitimir's potions that gave off an acidic contact. He then dodged the green fog from Vitimir's breath, which incinerated parts of the area. Napoli flipped over and summoned music notes, forcing Vitimir to dodge them.
"You've already lost," Napoli pointed out. "The Draining Spell is ruined, you know?"
"Don't have to remind me, idiot," Vitimir scowled. "I'm just trying to avoid jail time! And it's time I bring in my… remedies…" he said while opening his black box. He pressed his arms in it and the box split into two, covering his arms as it sprouted out tube-like fingers. He aimed them at Napoli and started to shoot potion liquids at him. Napoli dodged the liquids while Vitimir laughed. "Run, Bard, run!"
Meanwhile, Alador and Ester were facing off against Ulrich and Osran. Osran got hit by Ester's bard attacks mixed with her ghost abilities. Osran then drew his spell circles to shoot purple light spells at her. She dodged, but then Osran's other hand grabbed a bag and threw it at her. Ester got hit with the bag, which exploded into powder.
"Bleh! Salt?!" Ester cried out as Osran spread the salt around him.
"You can't harm me, spirit!" Osran declared while spreading out more salt. "I may not have my crystal ball to trap you in, but I still have defenses against spirits like you!" he declared while shooting out more spells at Ester.
The ghost girl tried to dodge them, but one of the spells managed to hit her. "Bloody hell!"
Alador and Ulrich continued to fight as Ulrich enhanced his hammer, throwing it at Alador. Alador shifted his Abomination body to avoid the hammer, but then Ulrich summoned a pillar from the ground, hitting Alador in the face. This made the Abomi-Man snarl and he threw his Abomi-gunk at Ulrich, who blocked it with rocks that he levitated before throwing them at Alador.
"Oof!" Alador shouted as he was hit.
"I'm sorry about your daughter, Alador," Ulrich said, looking remorseful. "I had no idea that Belos would have killed her…"
"Hers and Eda's kids' blood are on your hands, Ulrich!" Alador declared as he swung his tendrils at Ulrich, hitting him back. "You're no better than Terra!"
Ulrich shut his eyes, feeling the weight of Alador's words hit him. "You're right," he acknowledged before slamming a few power glyphs on himself, his eyes glowing as he radiated brown light. His body started to expand and become more buff, though his hand remained its normal size. "I am no better," he admitted as he charged at Alador, who charged at the Construction Head while in his Abomi-form.
Sunny dodged a fist slammed into the wall as she kicked Hettie's chin. When Sunny hopped away, Hettie threw that scalpel that got Sunny in the leg, causing Sunny to fall.
"You think you can take on me, little bunny?" Hettie questioned while her body flexed, revealing muscle.
"Well, I did hear you were beaten by a child…" Sunny pointed out.
Hettie growled at this and threw more scalpels at Sunny, who rolled away to dodge them, though she still felt one hit her arm "Ah!" Sunny cried as she got up, hopping on one leg while facing Hettie. She summoned more birds to take on Hettie, but Hettie simply slashed them out of the air. "No!"
"This is what happens when you get attached," Hettie mocked. "That's the problem with most healers. They care too much. But me?" She smiled. "I get straight to business."
Sunny snarled as her rabbit form. "You know a thing about bunnies, Hettie? They're not just cute and adorable," she screeched as her jaws widened and she launched herself at Hettie "WE BITE!"
She lunged at Hettie, taking a bite at her neck. "AAAAAHHH! GET OFF OF ME!" Hettie shouted while grabbing Sunny and pulling her out, blood squirting out from her neck. "Shit," Hettie cursed as she applied a healing patch on her neck to stop the bleeding. "You are one bad bunny…"
Sunny just snarled, letting her animal form take over as she went to attack Hettie.
Meanwhile, back with Napoli, he got hit by the potions squirted from Vitimir's potion gauntlets. He got hit in the arm and Napoli saw it being covered in moss.
"How do you like my 'Mosskin Spell'?" Vitimir asked before shooting another potion. "And have some taste of my Rancid Brew!" He threw the potion down by Napoli's boots and it broke, creating a cloud of green gas.
"Gosh! This stinks!" Napoli cried out while coughing.
"Made from my own breath with a mix of durian and a pinch of sulfur," Vitimir said with pride. "I was one of Stagg's proteges, after all! Nicole couldn't fathom my superior intellect!" he shouted while pointing his gauntlet at Napoli, shooting flames at him. "And that smell…"
Napoli went to dodge the flames, but one spark hit him, causing an explosion. "GAAAH!" he cried while rolling around the flames on him. "I'm on fire!"
"The Rancid Brew is also flammable!" Vitimir declared.
Napoli rolled around to put out the flames. His clothes were tattered and there were some burn marks on him as he looked up at Vitimir with a glare. But after a moment he calmed down, stood back up, closed his eyes, and his hands started to make movements.
"Fa… la… Fa… la…" Napoli chanted while making more finger signs. "Fall… setto!" His eyes opened as he slid his left foot and brought his hands back, aiming them at Vitimir.
"What's with the weird moves? No matter," Napoli said as he held up both his gauntlets, shooting more potion liquids. "Die!"
Napoli was prepared for the moment, bringing his psalm together and giving a fast slap on his hands, creating a shockwave that knocked Vitimir back.
Meanwhile, Ester dodged more of Osran's attacks. She saw him surrounded by his salt circle.
"You think that will protect you from me?" Ester questioned.
"As an Oracle, I deal with ghosts," Osran declared while he kept shooting purple light beams at her. "And I'm not going to let some pesky specter ruin years of my work!"
"Oh really?" Ester said while dodging his attacks. "Then I, Ester, curse you, Osran Pawculus, so that once you step out of that salt circle, you will experience the same pain and torture you've inflicted on others! You will feel their pain, especially the torture you've placed on my friend, Zee!"
Osran glared at her. "Like that would work, spirit."
"Are you sure?" Ester asked him with a smirk. "As soon as you step out of your circle, the curse will activate. You're trapped!"
Osran did not want to admit that she was right, but he was nervous. Stepping out of that circle was now too much of a risk…
Meanwhile, back with Alador fighting Ulrich, the two fathers clashed against one another. Alador sent his fists to punch Ulrich's face, while Ulrich did the same, the two knocking each other back.
"You know, I feel bad for your sons, Ulrich," Alador said as he stood up. "I wouldn't be surprised if they hated you after everything you've done."
"I did it to protect them!" Ulrich declared as he charged at Alador, the two clasping hands while struggling against one another.
"I know, but do you really think they'll appreciate it that you ended up sacrificing someone else's children for them? Do you really want them to live with that guilt?!" Alador shouted before another hand popped from his own chest, punching Ulrich in his bearded chin.
Ulrich was taken back and Alador seized the opening to grab the Construction Head and throw him into a wall.
While the battle with the Coven Heads was going on outside, inside the actual Skull Beluz was fighting against Emily and Willow. Beluz was mad as hell as he got pelted by fireballs coming from Emily, while Willow summoned vines to restrain Beluz's wings, pulling them to the ground.
"Sorry, Luz," Willow said, looking reluctant.
"Don't hesitate now, Willow," Emily said as she teleported in front of Beluz, kicking him in the face. Beluz growled and pulled free from the restraints. "It's Belos we're dealing with, not Luz!"
"EMILY!" Beluz shouted in anger while flying towards Emily. "You will pay for your betrayal! WEEHH!" he shouted while using Luz's 'Weh' at them.
Emily managed to teleport away, while Willow managed to block the attack by summoning trees from the ground. She ducked down as the trees shattered and broke, but she managed to hide behind the stumps. Beluz saw Emily floating above him on her staff and he used the 'Weh' at her again, but she teleported away once more. Willow sent out vines to try to restrain Beluz again, only for him to swipe at the vines and 'weh' at her. Willow summoned vines to shield herself, but she was still shoved back by the attack. Before Beluz could attack her again, Emily shot a fireball at his back, making him fall.
"Oof!" Beluz snarled as he looked up to Emily. "I thought you would want to join my cause, Emily! I thought you hated wild witches and would jump at the chance to-"
"Are you honestly that stupid?" Emily chastised Beluz, who growled and shot ice magic at her, but Emily just teleported away. "Or have you been so busy with the Clawthornes, you had tunnel vision and missed that I would be a potential threat? I guess I can't blame you too much, I am a good actor after all…"
Beluz snarled in anger and glared at Emily with hate and continued to attack her. But Emily wasn't done. "Then again, Terra was able to undermine you for years without you realizing it despite how obviously evil she was. Why? Because she gave you self-satisfaction? And yet you were so arrogant that you made the same mistake twice! That you thought just because I sucked up to Adrian, I would suck up to you! Well guess what? You're only the latest in a long line of witches that chose to underestimate me!"
Emily teleported around, distracting Beluz and keeping his focus on her, giving Willow a few chances to hit Beluz, who stumbled while blasting Willow's plants away. "How… how are you doing that?" he asked Emily as he saw her throwing fireballs and teleporting around. "You… you're not supposed to have any type of magic other than illusions!" he shouted while shooting light beams at Emily. "Just what are you?!"
"Isn't it obvious?" Emily asked as she popped up somewhere else, smirking at Beluz. "I'm Wicked," she said while giving a laugh.
Beluz shot flames at her, but she teleported away in an instant. Beluz was then hit with a large flower from below his feet. "GAH!" he shouted before a wooden hand grabbed hold of him. Beluz struggled with the restraints as Willow moved the large wooden arm to slam Beluz to the ground. He managed to escape before glaring at Willow and shooting flames and ice at her.
Willow summoned a bunch of plants to slow him down, but Beluz managed to burn his way through the plants as he lunged at Willow.
"I have you now, Willow!" Beluz shouted as he went to grab her, only for Willow to disappear. "WHAT?!"
"Over here!" shouted Willow, waving her arms in one direction.
"Actually, I'm over here!" another Willow shouted.
"No, right here!" more Willows shouted, causing Beluz even more confusion.
"Let's see if the ol' great Emperor can tell which is real," Emily said as she appeared, forming duplicates of herself and Willow around the area. They all surrounded Beluz, who looked around in frustration and anger.
"RAAAHH!" Beluz snapped as he roared at the duplicates with Luz's 'weh', causing a row of them to disappear. However, as he was distracted by the duplicates, he was hit by some vines sprouting from the ground. He shot some flames at the vines and the duplicates. But then he received a punch in the jaw from Emily, or at least who he thought was Emily. He turned to glare at her duplicates, but he couldn't tell which had hit him. "Show yourself!"
"What's the matter, Belos?" Emily mocked as Beluz ran through the illusion.
"Has all of your years of effort and bloodshed gone down the drain because of little old me?" another Emily duplicate mocked as Beluz swiped at her.
"How long have been planning this? Decades?" another duplicate mocked. "All for nothing…"
Beluz snarled as he gritted his teeth. "IT WON'T BE FOR NOTHING!" he shouted as he blasted an ice spell at the duplicates, poofing them away. As he did this, more vines and fireballs hit him. "GAH!" he shouted as he flew up, only for carnivorous crab-grass, large vines with claws, to chase after Beluz. He flew around to avoid the pincers, but as he turned around to cast a spell on the plant creatures, Emily appeared behind him on her staff and kicked Beluz's back, making him fall into the crab-grass.
The plants quickly wrapped around him and he struggled. The plants tried to cover his mouth, but he shouted a loud 'weh', freeing himself. He got up and saw Willow and Emily, shooting his spells at them… only for the light and ice spells to fly right through them. More illusions.
While Beluz tried to figure out what was real and what was not, Willow summoned thorns. Before those thorns could wrap around him, Beluz flew up to avoid the attack, but one of the thorns still hit his horn.
"GAH!" he cried out as he felt his left horn, now chipped. He turned to Willow, whose eyes were glowing green as she prepared to attack him "Willow, wait! You don't want to hurt me!"
"Why not?!" Willow declared.
"Because you'd only hurt Luz's body!" Beluz pointed out, causing her vines to stop.
"Luz…" Willow said, hesitating.
"Yes," Beluz said with a smirk. "I still have her body, and there's no way you would hurt your friend. Would you?"
"I-I…" Willow hesitated, since it was still Luz's body she's fighting.
Beluz saw an opening and drew a spell to shoot lightning at Willow. Before Willow could respond, Emily teleported in and grabbed her away from the lightning bolt, which struck the spot where Willow had just been standing.
"You may not wish to harm Luz's body," Emily said before facing Beluz. "Lucky for you, I don't have that hesitance. All I see is a creepy old man taking over a teenage girl's body. No wonder Hunter's disgusted by you."
This made Beluz angry. "I am going to skin you alive!" he shouted, lunging at Emily who teleported herself and Willow out of the way, making Beluz crash into the wall.
"Strike a nerve, huh?" Emily asked, appearing behind him. Beluz swiped at her, only for it to be another illusion.
"You ungrateful little…" Beluz ranted as he saw more fireballs coming at him, which he flew around and dodged. "Adrian spoke great things about you, which is why Abel suggested for you to take his place-" Beluz paused, realizing something. "Abel… suggested you as Adrian's replacement…"
And then it started to hit Belos like a ton of cauldrons…
"Terra's betrayal is meant to be a lesson to you, Belos. A lesson that even those closest to you can and will betray you."
"No… Abel wouldn't…" Beluz's eye twitched as the reality around him broke. When Abel told him that, he thought he was referring to Hunter… but was referring to himself. "He betrayed me… my aide… my mentor… betrayed me!"
"Guess you can't trust anybody these days," Emily said before swatting at the back of Beluz's head with her staff, knocking him to the ground. When Beluz opened his eyes, he saw that towering above him was the illusion of a giant Emily, who gave him a smirk while raising her arms up.
"EHEHEHEHE! Here lies Belos's hopes and dreams! Crumbling before him!" she declared with her wicked laugh. "You're not any better than Terra, you're just like her! Just a monster and now all of the Isles can see that! They now know what a sham the Day of Unity is and that image you've built for yourself over the years has fallen apart now that your mask is finally off! You're no God, you're just a witch! A puny, pathetic little witch…!"
"No…" Beluz said before a vine slammed into him while he was distracted, knocking him away.
Meanwhile, back in the In-Between, Amity was holding her head.
"This… this is a lot to process," Amity admitted while looking up to the larger Titan. "But… what use is this information to me? I'm dead."
"Well, that's the thing," Papa Titan said as he held up a cube, showing Amity a view of her friends and family gathered at the Grom tree, where her buried body was. "Look."
"Mom? Eda, Lilith, Boscha… why are they…" Amity asked as she looked at her friends and her family before she spotted someone. "Puck!"
"That's right, Amity," King told her. "With Puck's help, they're trying to bring you back to life… as a full Fae."
This surprised Amity. "Wait, but Sly told me that if I died, I wouldn't be able to reform. I would just be… dead."
"Well, he was right about you not reforming," Papa Titan admitted. "The only way for you to come back now would be as full Fae. I imagine he spared you the details about that because he didn't think becoming a full Fae was something you wanted. Of course, the only way you can go back is if you want to go back."
Amity was silent for a moment. Her answer should have been obvious, but then she remembered the drawbacks. "I mean, I do want to go back, but… I'm worried about what it could do to me. After all, don't I have to let go of my mortality? Let go of my attachments? How do I know that I will still be… me?"
"Don't worry, Amity," King said as he held her hand. "You will still be you."
"He's right," Papa Titan told her. "We can also help you not lose yourself when you're reborn. I can help you hold onto who you are. But to do that… you will have to reclaim your Blight name, take ownership of your heritage. Don't worry, you have my blessing."
Amity looked down at her own reflection in the water, thinking about everything she had learned and everything she had been through. She then blinked and in place of her reflection was Adam, whose spirit appeared in her vision. He gave her a nod of approval and a smile. This surprised Amity, but when she blinked again… Adam was gone and she was just looking at herself again.
"Amity Goodfellow… is gone," Amity realized as she raised her head up. "But Amity Blight… lives again."
Papa Titan looked satisfied by the answer. "Excellent. Now I can use my power to send you back, Amity Blight. My magic will protect your soul and your mind during this process, keeping you from forgetting who you are or losing yourself. But you knowing who you really are will help that."
Amity nodded before she turned to King. "But… what about King? Could he come back with me?"
The two Titans were silent for the moment. They looked at each other. After Papa Titan looked down at his son, he sighed. "I can send King back with you, Amity. But it will take what little of my power is left. After sending you two back… I would be… gone."
King looked heartbroken by this. "Oh… that makes sense…"
"King…" Amity said as she looked at King, just as saddened.
"I just got to meet you, dad," King said as he looked up to him. "There is so much I wish to tell you, so much I wish we could do together. It's… it's not fair that we don't get to spend more time together!" he ranted as Papa Titan looked down at him sadly. King sighed. "But you know what? I know that my family needs me. Eda, Luz, Lilith, and everyone else…"
"King," Papa Titan said as he knelt down in front of his son, patting his shoulder. "That is the answer. I've had the privilege of watching you grow up and becoming the demon you currently are, and I have to say… I couldn't be any more prouder of you than I already am. Especially when you stole the heart of this Laura," he teased, which caused King to chuckle. "You got rizz, my son."
King looked up at his dad and then at Amity, who smiled at him. He sighed. "I… I think I want to go back now," he said as he looked back at his dad. "No hard feelings?" he asked, tearing up.
"Not at all, kid," Papa Titan replied as he and King gave each other a hug, both Titans tearing up.
"I… love you, dad," King managed to say between tears.
"I love you too," Papa Titan told him. "I'm so glad that I got to speak to you, King. Eda did such a good job raising you. Tell her I said that."
"Yeah, she's… the best," King replied as the two let go of the hug. "But… I'm not sure how I'm going to learn how to be a Titan without you to show me how."
"Well, let me give you a word of fatherly advice," Papa Titan said as he pointed to King's chest. "Don't be a Titan… be a Clawthorne."
King looked up at his dad in awe and he felt a sense of… peace. "I can do that."
Papa Titan brought out both his clawed hands, which were filled with glyphs connected around him. "Now, are you two ready?"
Amity placed her hand on his. "I'm ready."
"Me too," King said, holding his father's hand.
This sparked glowing yellow orbs that formed around Amity and King. The two floated away from Papa Titan, levitating up from the waters of the In-Between.
"It's… happening, is it?" King asked.
"We're going home…" Amity said as she looked down at Papa Titan "Thank you, sir!"
"Hey, just be sure to knock Belos out of Luz for me," Papa Titan told her. "Oh, and King, one more thing… you won't be the last Titan!"
"W-what do you mean?" King asked.
But the projection of Papa Titan was gone. In its place was a much larger skeletal body of the Titan himself. The Titan sank down into the waters of the In-Between. As he sank, the water started to glow and the two were engulfed in a flashing bright light.
"Goodbye, King… and Amity."
"There is only darkness for you, Luz. You are truly alone…"
"You're wrong."
The Horned King looked at Luz in confusion. "…what?"
"I'm not alone," Luz declared as she started to glow, the darkness retreating from her. "Amity and King may be gone, but they're still with me. Still a part of me," she declared as Amity and King's faces appeared behind Luz. "Those relationships, those connections… they're what makes me who I am. You can't take that away from me. I have friends. I have family…"
It was at that moment Luz started to shine, driving the darkness away from her and forcing the Horned King to shield his eyes.
"And you? You're no God!" she declared. "You're just a thing. A thing that kills and eats. You didn't make anything. You don't live. You just corrupt and destroy. You are nothing but a disease!"
The Horned King was angered by this. He unhinged his jaws. "DEVOUR!"
He lunged towards Luz, about to devour her. But then, a group of flashing lights blocked his way. He screeched and backed away, the Horned King looking at the light as it started to take form.
It was all of Luz's loved ones. Her friends, allies, and family.
Amity, King, Eda, Lilith, Hooty, Camila, Gwen, Dell, Gus P, Willow, Hunter, Viney, Jerbo, Barcus, Boscha, Skara, Cat, Amelia, Matt, Bo, Bump, Morty, Summer, Eve and the rest of the SSE, Odalia, Alador, Edric, Emira, Geist, Donna, Nina, Beocrow, Tina, Veronica, Tyrone, Raine, Boris, Katya, Amber, Derwin, Steve, Star, Dr. Bride, Iggy, Larry, Acorn, Atticus, Ghost, the Bat Queen, Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Ford, Wendy, Soos, Candy, Grenda, Pacifica, Abigail, Clara, Masha, Vee, Gus G., Nora, Dana, Rudo, Jake, Haley, Susan, Jonathan, Lao Shi, Fu Dog, Jackie Lynn Thomas, Marco, Janna, Anne, Sprig, Marcy, Blitz, Loona, Moxxie, Eartha, Brolin, Barb, Cross, Zee, Lindsay, Kitsuni, Jack, Felicia, Puck, Randy, Hikari, Beel, and Julia Traveler.
All of them had come for Luz's aid.
"I… I don't understand," the Horned King said.
"Of course you don't," Luz pointed out as she continued to shine. "You understand and exploit fear, greed, hatred, and anger. But you can't understand love."
At the Grom tree where everyone was gathered, Boscha and Tom noticed that Star's cheeks were glowing.
"Star… your cheeks are glowing," Tom pointed out.
"What?!" Star asked, feeling her heart-shaped cheeks. "How is this…?!"
Suddenly, a hand burst from Amity's grave, scaring Ghost and Acorn.
Luz boldly approached the Horned King, who actually backed away from her.
"You… stay back!" the Horned King told her.
"What's the matter? Can't stand the light?" Luz asked as she shone brightly, the light engulfing her.
"What's happening?!" Emira asked before the grave suddenly exploded with a flash of purple light.
"She's… reborn!" Puck answered with a grin as they all saw something rising from the grave.
While surrounded in light, Luz started to transform, her body becoming covered in glyphs. Spinning around, she grew horns similar to King's while her arms and lower legs changed from her regular claws and talons to something more skeletal-like, with her arms growing fur with white claws while her shorts changed into gray pants and her lower legs turned into golden knee-caps and talons. Her jacket formed into a dark black overcoat with bones on her sides. Her shirt was changed into a black top with a glowing glyph combination on her chest. Her eyes were black with yellow pupils, her hair grew longer and became black with orange streaks. Her wings also changed as well, turning into Titan wings similar to King's dad while she also sprouted a bushy black tail with gray fur tip.
Amity had transformed as well. Sprouting from her head were two pairs of brown curved horns that flowers grew from. Her clothes had changed, turning into a lavender dress with dark purple trims and lines around her sides. The pattern of her dress was similar to her Abomi-Suit, while she sported purple arm gloves and leggings with pink knee-length organic boots. Her eyes had changed, with the left eye being pink and the right eye being yellow. Her hair grew longer, now lavender with green highlights and brown bangs hanging from the side. Sprouting from her back were pink translucent butterfly-like wings. A symbol formed on her chest, a golden gear-circle with a crescent moon symbol.
Everyone looked at her new form in shock and awe as Amity floated above her grave. Sam flew around excitedly, Ghost meowed happily, Acorn started cursing, and everyone else gaped in awe, especially Odalia, Lilith, Eda, Geist, Ed, and Em.
"Titan's stars…" Odalia said while covering her mouth, tears leaking from her eyes.
"Amity…?" Emira and Edric both asked.
"You did it, Pixie Dust," Puck commented with a smile. "Welcome back."
Shining bright against the Horned King, Luz in her new form looked at the Horned King while cracking her neck and knuckles.
"Alright," Titan Luz declared. "Time to kill a bitch."
Am I the only one who hears the transformation music from Brother Bear during this?
Yeah, we did it again. We had to split the chapter into two parts again because we wanted to show the scope of the Day of Unity. Plus, we had some new ideas to make the finale battle even bigger than it originally was.
So you may be surprised about Amity coming back as a full Fae now, which has always been the plan for a long while when finishing off Book One. It was even foreshadowed by the Baron back in the "Stranger Danger" chapter. But King was a different story, as we actually changed out minds several times and was going to keep him dead when we started writing this chapter. Amity could have still come back without Papa Titan's help, but it would have been far riskier.
As for Belos' plans goes kaput thanks to the key factors: Emily and Abel. The reason was is quite simple, that Belos suffers from the same fatal flaw that he did when he was Philip: he's too trusting.
Like, in the past he trusted Gabriel and Mary, resulting in them hunting down the witches in the Isles and killing some of his family. Now in the present, he trusted Terra, Abel, and even Emily because they stroked his ego and appealed to his biases. He even gave Hunter a lot of leniency because he cared about him, not realizing that Hunter was undermining him behind his back. Because of these blind shots, it's easy to take advantage of Belos, considering that it really chalks down into feeding his own delusions.
As for Cana and Bela's reunion. Well, we've decided that this is how to differentiate Amy and Samey from Pakinew Island. While those two twins never got the resolve in the show, here their counterparts does.
Also about the Draining Spell, it was unable to take on full affect without all of the Coven Heads in position. Neither the Coven Heads themselves nor members of the Emperor's Coven would have been drained until all nine Coven Heads were in their spots. We've realized that nobody would have been drained at all until all the Coven Heads were in place, unlike what we showed in the chapter. But it does still give out some good drama. Besides, this is a different Draining Spell anyway.
And of course, some mentions of the references. Such as:
-Tabrella using a needle is definitely a reference to Yondu.
-The Horned King's speech being similar to the Lich's speeches to Finn and the King of Ooo in Adventure Time.
-Luz summoning many of her friends, family and allies similar to what Peter did against Venom in Spectacular Spider-Man.
Next time, the deciding battle…

Alamout: Sentence revolked.
BlueKnight-X2: Dramatic, ain't we?
Krypton Writes: Sounds like we're doing better jobs. For your second review, we don't condone the last part cause that just sounds very wrong to say. So please, re-frame from making comments like that.
Crash X Fusion: Indeed.

1) Yes.

4) Why would they? Those beings don't really have a specific belief in an afterlife that they would be sent to.
5) I guess.
6) I would say yes to both.
7) The only evil uncles in Disney are Scar and Hades, even if the latter is never referred to as Herc's uncle. Plus, why compare him to a Disney evil uncle when he's obviously based on Skeletor?
8) Yes.
9) He was claimed by the Baron. So obviously he is in the same place Facilier and the Inner Demon were dragged to.
10) Considering that Chernabog was the original Satan... yes.
11) Um, no.
12) No.
Ultimate-drax: Hope this chapter makes you feel better.
EEnE Scammer: I mean, Belos hates the Faes and Humanity, and discouraged gods in not helping mortals despite their powers and responsibilities. Belos believes himself that the Isles should rely on him and him only. Belos believes himself that he can do better than the gods, that's how far he has become.
