Percy POV (Camp Half-blood, Long Island, New York)

Percy decided to meet with Annabeth near the arena after spending a solid 10 minutes in the sea, luckily he was dry when he stepped out - he forgot to bring a towel or anything for swimming really, being the son of the sea god meant he could forget things like that and it wasn't a problem.

As he was moving to the arena, he passed through one of the groves and saw the distinct blonde of Annabeth's head, along with a choppy black one that was definitely Thalia. Although Percy was about to turn around and head to the arena a different way, he couldn't help himself. He really wanted to hear what they were always talking about, Annabeth and Thalia spent so much time whispering to each other that he thought somebody needed to find out if she was in trouble. (And Thalia too he guessed)

Both girls were so engrossed in conversation that neither noticed Percy coming up beside them. He wasn't being particularly sneaky, but the girls didn't hear him regardless, the dryads overlooking all of this, seeing a boy sneak up on two pretty whispering girls, found it very cute, and all Camp dryads were secretly romantics and loved some teen drama to gossip about over the decades. They made sure that Percy's path was completely clear of roots and crunchy leaves, and if the branches and leaves tilted just so to stop him being seen out of the corner of either girl's eyes, then that wasn't anything except a coincidence, all the dryads would later swear. Cheating at getting gossip really was looked down on, even if all the dryad's knew that it was the only way to get any drama or romance started with boys and girls in America.

Oblivious to the half-dozen dryads looking over, Percy happened to overhear the tail end of Annabeth and Thalia's conversation.

"-oke to Harry? Did your dad send him? How was he? Did you tell him about Luke?"

Percy, slowed down by a clump of trees to hide from them.

Who was Harry? Was he a boyfriend of Thalia's? Why would Zeus send-

Oh.

Percy stopped dead in his tracks, luckily neither girl saw him, and moved on oblivious. They could've shouted next to his ear and Percy probably wouldn't have heard them anyway over the blood rushing in his ears.

Thalia, the oldest half-blood child of Zeus in camp, of course the king of the gods would send his daughter her old boyfriend back just because. But his best friend's godly parent hated him just for who his dad was.

It wasn't like Percy had gone 13 years with barely a sentence exchanged between him and his father. And suddenly Thalia's dad not only saved her life against the worst of the underworld, and made her a legend whilst she was 'alive' as a tree, but even gave her back her boyfriend as soon as she was de-treed. Nope, he was not jealous. Not jealous at all.

While Percy stood in the grove, shielded from anyone who may have watched - the dryads didn't want anyone else to interrupt the boy's 'realization' before he charged off to probably do something romantic, the girls had moved out of the grove.

Annabeth POV (the grove, following Percy's POV directly)

"Yeah, I saw him and I think he actually scared Mr D!" Thalia said it like of course Harry could scare Mr D, brushing a few stray branches away as they cleared the grove.

But Annabeth's mind stopped. Mr D was a god , if anything could scare a god wasn't good. Maybe it was because Harry was sent by Zeus and Mr D was worried about Zeus. Yeah that made more sense. A branch nearly tripped her up, she shook her head as Thalia caught her. She really needed to be less clumsy.

She told Thalia her theory about him being sent by her father but needing to stay under the radar, but she didn't expect at all what the other girl replied with.

"Oh Harry wasn't sent by Zeus ." Thunder rumbled ominously, but Thalia ignored it but Annabeth couldn't help but flinch. Of course Thalia wouldn't worry about offending Zeus, but the rest of Camp wasn't so lucky.

"Wait, so who sent him? Hermes? Apollo?" Mom? She didn't say, but the way that Thalia looked at her, she didn't need to.

"He didn't come from the Greek Pantheon Annie." The way that Thalia looked at her, Annabeth immediately felt seven years old, looking to the older (and cooler) girl to explain something. She stumbled to a halt, forcing Thalia to stop and turn to look at her.

"Annie- Annabeth ." Thalia stumbled, forcing herself to stop using that old nickname, well old for everyone except her anyway, Annabeth thought. "After we met Harry, Mr D and Chiron told me, there are other Pantheons out there." she said, sweeping her hand generally to Long Island.

"Er-where? Like in Europe?" Annabeth couldn't believe it.

"I-I dunno." Thalia sounded uncertain "Chiron spoke about it like there were Pantheons here but we'd have seen other demigods and stuff if they were here." Thalia paused for a second and looked nervously at Annabeth. "Or me and Luke would've, at least."

That was fair, after all Luke and Thalia had basically had their own Oddessy through the whole of the US, but for years she had been stuck in camp except for quest- Oh,

"Wait, so you mean Romans, and er Native Americans and Egyptians and ones like that? And-and maybe thats why we cant leave camp except for quests, to limit the chance of us meeting other Pantheons?"

Annabeth was breathless just thinking about it, even if most of her brain couldn't believe it. Bu thinking about it, if the Roman Pantheon existed then maybe Roman demigods existed, and she wondered what their camp looked like.

Then her brain began comparing Greek and Roman architecture, and how different ( better ) some Roman engineering was, and then…

She shook her head - that train of thought always made her think of how she would design things, her dreams of being not just an architect, but a world renowned one were never far away - she only willingly shared this with Thalia and Luke, but ever since she found ou how seriously the gods took hubrids, she kept it to herself.

As all this was going through her head, Thalia just shrugged.

"I guess, I mean Harry mentioned a Welsh Pantheon didn't he?" Thalia began playing with her bracelets but Annabeth didn't really pay much attention to that.

Welsh? Well he sounded English, so maybe Welland or whatever it was called was near England? Maybe it was the island next to it? She would have to get an atlas from Jasmine (she had a thing for geography like Annabeth had a thing for architecture).

"I'll see if anyone knows anything about it." By anyone she meant anyone in her cabin, it wasn't like people in the Ares cabin would care about anything that wasn't fighting or violence.

"Sure, but try and be careful, don't let anyone know about why you are looking for it." Thalia sounded worried now.

"Of course I won't, who would believe me anyway?" Annabeth tried to laugh it off, but really really wished that she'd told Percy, at least Thalia asked her to keep it quiet. Maybe Grover had already, they were best friends so he probably did. There was no reason for her to tell Percy something he already knew. Annabeth felt lighter at that thought. But looking at Thalia's serious face, that lightness disappeared. "Oh. You're worried about…" she trailed off, she didn't want to say anything, that would make it real.

A spy. Who could turn against Camp? And how could she have missed it, she was probably the closest to Luke, and if she didn't turn…

"Hey Annabeth, don't worry we'll find out who it is soon. I don't like keeping secrets either." The other demigod grumbled, looking at her wrists and tugging on the chains and bangles there. Annabeth could sympathize, she sometimes did the same with her hair when she was annoyed.

"Umm, yeah." The daughter of Athena couldn't find anything to say to that. Part of her brain was running through all the campers she knew, and checking them off as suspect or innocent. Thalia looked like she was thinking of something as well.

For a few minutes, both girls just wandered to the arena, saying nothing, both lost in her own thoughts, or at least Thalia was; no child of Athena would ever call themselves 'lost in thought' over anything.

Just before Annabeth made to turn around and head to the pavilion - is always made her feel more comfortable being in a solidly Greek place, Thalia jerked her head.

"Hey Annie, I just wanna clear my head a bit, I need to spar."

"Oh, do you want'"

"Nah, I kinda wanna beat up an Ares kid, I'm not in the mood to go easy."

Ouch! Annabeth tried to hide it, but since Thalia was already walking into the arena, she didn't need to. Did that mean whenever they were sparring Thalia was deliberately going easy on her? Annabeth won less than half of their matches, and that was with Thalia going easy on her, when she was the most experienced camper there?

Annabeth shook her head and started moving back to the canoe lake, looking for Percy. The only time they hung out now was between Thalia's constant combat lessons and her mystery meetings with Mr D and Chiron, sometimes the daughter of Zeus even met Mr D on his own. Who would willingly spend one-on-one time with Mr D, she had no idea, but it must have been important. But it still kinda stung that they weren't as close before.

Thalia was practicing sword fighting now almost as much as Luke did, but it was usually with her as well, both girls would spar even though Thalia would win a lot more than Annabeth, she thought it was still fun. But apparently the other girl was just going easy on her. That was so… Urggh!

They were at war with half of the camp, how could she improve if people went easy on her? It was times like this that she tried to look for Percy, but he was difficult to find, and Annabeth didn't have as much free time as either of them.

Thalia, like Percy, was the only person in her cabin, so she could decide her own schedule, so her and Percy could avoid some activities or not meet other campers except at dinner, which made it much harder for people to meet up with them. Thinking about that, Annabeth wondered why Percy didn't come and speak with her as much? Maybe he was jealous of Thalia?

Annabeth almost laughed at that thought. She definitely would have noticed if two of her best friends were suddenly jealous of each other. No Percy was maybe a bit intimidated by her. Yeah that was probably it, son of Posiden didn't know what to do with a daughter of Zeus who really knew her stuff. Yeah that was probably it.

She really needed to find Percy and talk to him about it, tell him that there was no need to worry about Thalia, she had survived on her own and against so many monsters that compared to most campers (except Luke of course, she thought with an annoying blush) she was super-experienced. Of course Percy, who only found out he was a demigod last year, couldn't compete, especially when it came to swordfighting.

Annabeth knew it was rich coming from her, but she kept telling Thalia to join in on other activities, not just swordfighting and capture the flag. But any free time the other girl had was mostly filled with other campers asking questions, or wanting to just be around the walking legend that was Thalia. Annabeth guessed this must be like what it was like for popular girls at school. Shaking her head, she didn't have time to mope over a boy like an Aphrodite girl, Annabeth decided to make an effort in tracking down Percy for a long overdue talk.

"Hey Lee, have you seen Percy anywhere?" Lee Fletcher was heading toward the climbing wall, probably coming from the cabins or something.

"Try the canoe lake?" The boy called out before carrying on, he looked like he was in some sort of rush.

Well that was the obvious choice, but she had a feeling that Percy wouldn't be there, Silena was there tutoring some Hermes kids, and Percy wasn't speaking to Silena that much anymore. She didn't know why she was happy about it, but she was. Most Aphrodite girls weren't worth the wood it took to build their cabin. No, she reprimanded herself, now wasn't the time to think about Aphrodite girls, she was looking for Percy. She really didn't want to think about Percy in the same sentence as the Aphrodite cabin.

Annabeth started walking back toward the canoe lake just in case. Percy did usually hang around there, and she hardly saw him since the chariot races. She just hoped that he wasn't with Silena.

She really wanted to tell him about Harry, even if she couldn't quite believe Thalia about other pantheons. He must have been sent by Zeus (or maybe her mother? She hoped) to help Luke, her and Thalia find Grover and camp. Surely she could find a way to discreetly tell him. Maybe then they could find a way to get Harry to help them fight against Kronos.

Especially since Thalia had managed to talk to him again - Zeus must be working behind the scenes to give the camp the best chance against Kronos. Thalia may think that Harry had nothing to do with Zeus, but in all the legends, the gods worked behind the scenes and did things like this loads of times. Maybe that was a lie from Harry so that Zeus didn't come across as favoring her too much. That sounded right, it was no surprise that nobody else had figured it out, Annabeth thought, not when they didn't know Thalia, or the gods, or Luke like she did. Smiling to herself, Annabeth walked slightly faster to the canoe lake, she couldn't wait to tell Percy.

But when she got to the canoe lake, Percy wasn't there. He was hardly ever around now and when he was, he wanted to talk about anything other than Thalia. Well she was right about them she guessed, they hated each other. Or, Percy hated Thalia, Annabeth really didn't know what Thalia thought about Percy (she had a sarcastic nickname for everyone in camp, except Percy).

"Hey Katie, have you seen Percy?" No need to specify which Percy she meant, even though there were 3 Percy's in camp.

A/N:

This chapter is a little of Percy's POV but mostly Annabeth and Thalia talking through Annabeth's POV

I wanted to not only give Percy a more 'flawed' fatal flaw (he is very loyal to those he cares about to the point of being dismissive to anyone else, and will do stupid things because of it) but also give Annabeth one as well (her hubris as a fatal flaw is really glossed over by Rick, here it is more of a 'problem' shall we say, she thinks she is right and really really needs for something to go wrong before she starts to think otherwise), she may seem OOC but I want to make fatal flaws more of a thing - in the Greek myths they were a big thing, but in the books they are really glossed over

Yes Thalia tells her about 'other Pantheons' but Annabeth believes in the gods so much that she is willing to attribute anyting good to the gods (a big thing in Greek mythology was the gods punishing those they thought 'unfaithful' and Annabeth along with many campers is probably terrified of this, so maybe goes overboard to compensate for what she knows is her own hubris) and humor Thalia, but in herself believes that the other Pantheon's is the gods trying to make sure their help goes 'under the radar' - I do hope this belief won't cause problems later (*evil laugh*)

This may also explain why so many campers would side with Kronos - if they had heard the many many stories of how the Greek gods were capricious and very arbitrary then it doesn't surprise me that they would 'lash out' in such a big way (remember that the Greeks invented drama and tragedy of course, the phrase 'drama queen' probably isn't an insult to them at all!)

Next chapter is a bit of background with a new POV!
