"InuYasha! Don't leave, please!" Kagome begged him, her voice echoing through the quiet streets of Edo as she hurried to catch up with him.

InuYasha's steps didn't falter as he continued to walk, his expression resolute. "No, Kagome," he replied firmly, not even sparing her a glance over his shoulder. "I need a break. I'll be back when I'm back. Until then, do whatever you guys want. It'll be a while before I come back."

Kagome's heart sank at his words, her desperation evident in her voice as she reached out, trying to grasp onto the fabric of his haori. But each time she tried, he shrugged off her hands as if they were nothing, his determination unwavering.

Tears welled up in Kagome's eyes as she watched him walk away, feeling a sense of helplessness washing over her. "But InuYasha, we need you," she pleaded, her voice trembling with emotion. "I need you."

InuYasha finally stopped, his back still turned to her as he sighed heavily. "Kagome, I just need some time to sort things out," he explained, his tone softer now, tinged with a hint of sadness. "I promise, I'll be back."

Kagome nodded, her heart heavy with uncertainty. "Okay," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the gentle rustle of the evening breeze. "But please, don't stay away for too long."

With one last glance over his shoulder, InuYasha nodded in silent acknowledgment before turning away, disappearing into the shadows of the night.

Alone in the empty streets of Edo, Kagome felt a wave of loneliness wash over her, the weight of InuYasha's absence pressing down on her shoulders. But as she wiped away her tears and straightened her posture, she knew that she had to be strong.

For even in InuYasha's absence, she would continue to protect their friends and their world, holding onto the hope that one day, he would return to her side once more.
