Thank you all so much for waiting patiently, here is the next instalment of Siren Song.
"There's no one around for miles."
Bella bolted up, skull pounding, the strangely alluring voice echoing in her head. It was silent in the cullen house, barely four in the morning if the clock beside the sofa she'd passed out on was any indication. She'd been offered a room, but found most comfort in the library, where she had decided to fall asleep. Alice had told her vampires didn't need sleep to function, but Bella was sceptical. After all of their hunting and lessons she was exhausted.
Whatever was happening to her during this transformation was starting to take its toll.
And she succumbed to the urge to close her eyes.
She definitely could sleep, and wondered if that could change. She hoped not. Even as a human she found solace in her sleep, full of the things she'd never experience.
Murmuring from down stairs arouses her from her stupor and she stands on steady feet before blurring to the island counter beside Alice, who barely flinched upon Bella's unexpected arrival in the kitchen.
Of all the things she was learning, her speed was one the perks. It would take her seconds to get anyway. She was no longer clumsy and heavy footed. No longer this ditzy mortal who couldn't hold her footing, that was slip over steps or ice. Every step was sure, calculated, even if she appeared nothing but a haze of colourful movements. To humans she was nothing but a blur, though to others like Alice they could all see every feature.
It was fascinating.
"Good morning Bella!" She greets, touching a smaller arm to Bella's bicep. Lingering before letting go. Her cool fingers aching to hold her longer.
Bella nods, the throbbing getting harder to ignore. She gripped the counter, as her legs began to fail, a burn in her throat rippled through her system. Alice dropped beside her, hand coming to rest against her shoulder, merely hovering, waiting for anything through worried eyes.
Flashes of red and green assaulted her eyelids as her knees smacked into the tiles of the kitchen floor, cracking them, head falling to her chest.
God what was happening. Why now? She was fine, she had hunted, there was blood in her system. The Cullens were different, their method of getting her here was harsh to the say the least but she fit in. She was becoming like them, but god damn why did it have to hurt. Why did it feel like her brain was full of nails and someone was shaking her entire body. She groaned, the whispering was back, mocking her, the feminine voice laughed.
What's the matter darling? Was my blood too much for your pathetic mortal body to handle?
Bella grunted, eyes slamming shut to see nothing but red. Red, red and more red. Was it blood? The thick, oozing substance her monster was craving? The sweet tangible source of life that could bring her back from the edge? No. This was different. It was shades, swirling, curling around her, mixed with smudges of white. Then Bella saw it. Her. A woman. Smirking, stalking towards, the foliage crunching underfoot as she approached. The mist pouring for the evergreen trees separated as if she was wind herself.
"Carlisle please come.."
Alice? Was that Alice?
Small arms embraced her, pulling her tight into a cold but welcoming body.
"I don't know what's happening." They said again, worriedly.
Are they insane? She's awake, she can hear them, she's right… Here?
Bella's mind had slipped away, encompassing her as her physical body gave out. The torrential power of whoever this woman was, this blood, their venom was not something she could handle until the transformation was complete. And it had to be done now.
Carlisle was quick to come into the kitchen, followed by his dear wife, to see Bella convulsing on the floor, whimpering, murmuring under her breath. He couldn't understand what was happening, he'd never encountered anything like this. A frown marred his perfect features as he joined Alice by Bella's side. His hands ghosted over her figure, pressing on her skin. Almost as if he could feel the venom with his bare hands attacking her system.
Meanwhile Bella couldn't believe her eyes.
This was the woman, the red headed wicked thing that had attacked her that night. That night where she just wanted to find home where she found happy memories. To look for comfort in a new and strange situation, but no, she ruined that. She had attacked her without mercy, shredding her skin. She could remember it now. The piercing of the teeth through flesh, the screams as she died.
The mist spread to Bella's feet, curling around her ankles as the taller woman descended forward. Boots kicking up the leaves digging a small trail with every precise step.
"You've been very hard to reach, dear."
What was she on about?
The red head was upon her now, arm braced to stroke her pale cheek. Glass like nails scratched over the surface but Bella couldn't move away. Fear gripped her but something else was pulling her towards the woman. A force tugging the young vampire towards her maker.
"I can always slip into their minds, those I pray on." She sounds cocky, a grin plastered to her face. "Wonderful isn't it?"
Bella remained silent, watching as she was circled, the mist continued to pour although the level never rose. It stayed encompassing their ankles like a thick blanket.
"You, however, have been tricky."
"Who are you?" Bella asks with a shaky voice. Crushed by the power emanating from her. Every step she felt resounding through her blood, the vibrations shaking her to the core. It's as if she was breeding life itself, humming her to life, giving her a purpose she had never fathomed. Bella was becoming something new. Something created by this… Woman.
The redhead chuckled, a hand brushing over her shoulder before dropping to their side, curling at the waist to dig into the fabric.
"You haven't accepted me yet, and you're demanding an answer? Tut tut, young one. That's not how our transformation is going to work." Bella gulped, eyes glued to hers. She refused to back down, or look away. Red pours into red, an endless stream of essence.
"H-How can it work?"
The redhead hums, her finger tapping her chin, sauntering towards the trees as if she owned them. For all, Bella knew this was her world and she was being dragged through it kicking and screaming.
"You have so many questions, didn't anyone teach you how impolite that is?" She suddenly paused to look up towards the sky. The trees bend as if at will to expose the scorching sun in the sky. "It's beautiful isn't it? As one of us you'll learn to love yet fear such a magnificent thing, but as for right now. As my blood is consuming yours, you're not loving much at all." A smirk fills her features before she's gone as if she were smoke.
Her throat burned and suddenly she was back in Alice's arms. Her vision came to focus on the golden hues flickered with worry.
"What is happening to me?" She gasps.
