Day 7 (The Final Day)

It was the final day of the bet. Every Minion in Bowser's castle was anticipating the last hour of Morton remaining silent for an entire week. Some Minions were growing restless for the time for Morton to win.

"Man, it feels like this bet has gone forever!" A green-shelled Koopa-Troop said looking at his wristwatch.

"Are you saying that because of the bet or because DragonKGIRL spent nearly two years finishing this story?" A Goomba questioned. "You know she has been busy and going through stuff with her personal life, right?" The Goomba continued raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah I know, but she could've finished this story sooner, me and the readers are eager to find out what happens," The Koopa-Troop said, looking at me as I typed this story on my laptop.

(Hey, do you want me to finish this story finally, or do you want to wait another year for me to finish? It's your choice.) I retorted while trying to type the final chapter in my office/guest room in my parents' house, drinking my coffee.

The Koopa-Troop fell silent as he looked at the clock returning to the story. The clock on the wall said 11:05 am, indicating Morton only had another 55 minutes to win the bet with his other brothers finally. Morton was in his room with Wendy, Lemmy, and Bowser Junior as they were helping him get ready for the final countdown, picking out his next scarf, and finding something else in his room to tell everyone in the castle a big announcement. Ludwig and the other brothers were in his room contemplating about the final hour of the bet. While Iggy was letting a pool of saliva out of his mouth from the medication he took, getting Ludwig's bed wet. Larry had bags under his eyes from not sleeping after his plans of seeing that horror movie backfired horribly, as he was curled up in a ball sitting on the floor with his arms wrapping his legs as tight as he could and rocking himself forward and back, severely terrified.

"Welp. Morton's got exactly 50 minutes to win the bet now guys. We ain't winning this." Roy said, crossing his arms and frowning in disappointment and anger.

"I'm more annoyed than impressed. How did he even do it? He hasn't said a peep throughout the entire week, and we have gotten crazy from his silence thanks to this idiotic bet." Ludwig said, pounding his fist on the bed frame startling Larry.

"Why did I insist on picking that horrible movie!? I didn't even get any sleep, and the worst part is...it didn't even terrify Morton! What was in that movie that he found so COOL and INTERESTING?! Now he's going to win, and it will give me even more nightmares." Larry said, shaking his body in fear.

Iggy, however, did not say anything as he gargled on his drool which was starting to get in his nose and eyes, disgusting and concerning his other brothers, especially Ludwig since his bed was now filthy.

"Well. We told you not to watch that movie, but you didn't listen to either of us, so I guess it was good it backfired on you, Larry." Ludwig said getting a bunch of tissues to clean off Iggy and his bed.

"You guys could've gone with me to pick a different kind of movie from the movie chest in Dad's room. I was at the part of the movie when the Creature was found in someone's blood! That's when I had to escape that terrible horrifying Movie..." Larry said in a mixture of anger and shaken fear.

"Wait, isn't that usually locked?" Roy asked, pulling down his shades to look at Larry confusingly.

"Yeah, it is! I picked the lock to find that stupid Movie..." Larry said, balling himself deeper in his knees.

They suddenly heard a ring at the castle doorbell, causing Larry to jump and cling to the ceiling of Ludwig's room in terror, much to the annoyance and surprise of his older brothers.

"AHHHH! IT'S THE CREATURE! IT FOUND OUR HOME! WE'RE DOOMED! Larry shouted in a panic, causing Ludwig and Roy to cover their ear holes except for Iggy who excitedly said, "The Creatures here?! Does it have chocolate bunnies for us?!" He said drooling again and looking at Ludwig's door, which was slightly opened.

They then heard the excited voice of their only sister Wendy, who clicked her pink heels to the front castle door in joy.

"My dress is finally here! I'm going to wear it for the countdown for Morton!" She said walking to the door with a small smile.

"To think this entire bet happened because of that dress Wendy wanted just amazes and disappoints me," Roy said now realizing why they had that bet in the first place with Morton.

"Yeah. It shows a great example of a butterfly effect, don't you think?" Ludwig said while getting Larry down from the ceiling by jumping on his bed to grab him.

"Yeah, but at least we can finally find out how Morton did it," Roy said calmly.

"I'm still wondering why he wore all those scarves during the bet. It's been bugging me ever since this bet started." Larry said, now dropping down from the ceiling in Ludwig's arms.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the bet Larry. Morton was probably just wearing them because it was cold in the weather." Roy said, not batting an eye at Larry's questioning.

"But why would he-" Larry would question until someone cut him off on his remark.

"Look, boys. We only have a few minutes until this treacherous bet is over, then he can finally talk to us to make us go sane again. Even if it's going to be in broken caveman speech." Ludwig said, taking Larry and Iggy off his bed.

"Yeah. Let's just get out of here so we can end this bet already." Roy said, opening the door in Ludwig's room to exit it.

There were about 15 minutes left on the bet and Ludwig, Roy, Iggy, and Larry were with the other Minions as they stared at the clock intently, waiting for Morton's arrival to win the bet.

When he did finally arrive they all saw Morton now wearing a gold-colored scarf on his neck with a wide smile on his face as his scarf majestically blew in the wind like he was an ancient God. Alongside him were their other siblings Lemmy, Wendy, and Bowser Junior as they saw Lemmy and Junior holding a large heavy metal-like item in their arms. It was none other than Morton's giant ruby-gemmed wand that was polished and shined which brought "Oohs" and "Aahs" from the Minions. They also saw Wendy in her brand new green dress that was a perfect fit for her, she was like a famous model in a fashion show as the Koopa Princess struck a pose to show it off.

"Your Beautifulness! That dress brings out your beautiful red pearls!" One Goomba said with sparkling eyes.

"Oh thank you Darlings~ Morton helped me pick it out." She said with a smile as she looked at Morton.

It was at this time that two more Koopas came with only 5 minutes left of the contest. King Bowser Koopa and Kamek, who was holding his scepter, joined in on the countdown with Morton. From waiting for it to be noon, all his brothers had annoyed faces. Roy crossed his arms, Ludwig tapped his foot, Larry was also annoyed but still terrified from the movie, and Iggy didn't have an annoyed expression. He just slumped over on another Goomba while drooling on him, much to the Goomba's confusion and disgust.

Finally, with only 1 minute of the bet, every Minion began to countdown. From Goombas, Koopa-Troopa, Koopa Paratroopas, Hammer Bros, Boos, Thwomps, and even some of Iggy's Chain-Chomps who barked to count down with them. Wendy, Lemmy, Bowser Junior counted down with the Minions. 30 seconds they counted down, and Ludwig, Larry, and Roy all frowned as they heard the others counting down, while Iggy continued to drool on the Goomba. 20 seconds they counted, as Morton smiled as he picked up his wand to create something for an announcement for his other brothers and everyone in the castle.

"MORTON WINS!" They all shouted as almost every minion in the castle clapped and jumped in joy for Morton finally winning the bet. Some Goomba's even blew on noisemakers like it was New Year's to congratulate Morton. While doing so, Kamek then cast a spell of his scepter to make rainbow Confetti shower on Morton. Wendy, Lemmy, and Bowser Junior congratulated Morton on winning and helping him out on the bet. Even one of the chain chomps that was in the crowd licked Morton's face to congratulate him. Finally, when the noise was starting to simmer down, a few of the Minions all looked at the other brothers who were not the most happy about their loss of the bet. Ludwig stepped in. He sighed as he walked to Morton who was smiling.

"Well, Morton...You did it. You really showed me and the boys that you really can pipe down for once. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I and the boys really did go crazy from your constant silence. From me not being able to read to Iggy going completely insane from this bet." Ludwig admitted with a frown and looking at Iggy who was drooling to no end on the Goomba. "So for our agreement of the bet, since you won, you get 50% of our allowance, we will do all your chores, and we will be the ones to give the chain-chomp a bath for the past 6 months. We will especially never complain about your constant talking for as long as we live." Ludwig added.

Larry finally got out of his fetal position to walk to Morton and finally asked him a barrage of questions now that he was allowed to talk again, "So how did you do it now that you can finally talk to us? What was so interesting about that horror movie that you like so much? And lastly! Why were you wearing all those scarfs for the entirety of the bet?" Larry asked with an angered face looking at Morton.

"Larry, we already told you. It probably has nothing to do with the bet now that Morton finally won this stupid bet." Roy said, crossing his arms and rolling his eyes.

However, Wendy stepped in with a large grin on her lipstick face as she said, "Darling, I think you should better hear Morton's announcement. It does have something to do with the scarves." Wendy said, pointing at Morton.

The boys and the other minions finally realized Morton still did not say anything even though he finally won the bet and could speak to no end. So why wasn't he talking now?

"Morton! You won, you can talk now. Say something!" Ludwig said with a mixture of irritation and confusion.

From there Morton used his wand to finally transform his wand into something that could make his announcement loud and clear for everyone to hear including his brothers, a giant Megaphone. A hush went throughout the entire crowd and his brothers and the minions were about to hear a probably long speech from the Caveman Prince, Morton positioned himself to turn the megaphone to the highest hearing dial ever, as he cleared his throat and fixed his scarf to take a deep breath. His brother and everyone in the castle held their breaths, as they all heard a low scratchy, dry voice coming from Morton as he said. One. Single. Word.

"Lar...yn...gi...tis," Morton tried to say with a smile.

From that single word, the crowd went entirely silent. It was quieter than the bet itself, you could even hear a pin drop, there was even a Koopa-Troop that coughed in the distance. What did Morton say? They could barely hear his voice even with the megaphone at the highest level. Even his brothers couldn't hear what he said from his dry voice.

"What did you say, Morton?" Ludwig asked with widened eyes.

"Yeah. I'm with Ludwig. I didn't catch that." Roy said, taking off his shades.

Morton smiled as he said, "Mor...ton had... Lar...yn...gi...tis." He said again, making Wendy Lemmy and Junior smile.

"Huh?" Ludwig, Roy, and Larry said in unison, still not understanding what Morton said. It was at this time that Kamek finally said what Morton was trying to tell everyone.

"What Morton is trying to say. He has Laryngitis. He lost his voice." He said with a smile.

The crowd gasped as the boy's jaws dropped and it was at this time a noise echoed in the room. Everyone saw the Scientist Prince Iggy was beginning to vomit up all the pills and a waterfall of thick white paste came out of his mouth surprising, scaring, and disgusting everyone. One Koopa held her nose from the smell of the vomit as she fanned it away. It was like Kamek saying those words cured Iggy immediately and got better from his headache and hallucinations.

YOU LOST YOUR WHAT!?" Iggy asked, sounding better already as he looked at Morton with daggers in his eyes while his mouth was still covered with white throw-up.

"Morton...lost...voice..." Morton said in his scratchy voice with a smug smile.

"Wh-wh- WHEN DID YOU REALIZE THIS!" Ludwig said, also looking as confused and angered at Morton.

"Ever since the bet began last week," Lemmy said smiling.

The boys look at the small 16-year-old prince in confusion, "Huh?" They all said in unison.

"Allow me to explain boys. It all began after Morton left when he just made the bet with you all." Kamek said as it now flashbacked to the very announcement on the bet.

We see Kamek checking inside Morton's throat with Wendy, Lemmy, and Bowser Junior waiting for the results. Morton's entire throat and voice box looked as red as a ripe apple and his voice was starting to begin to sound dry and scratchy.

"Well, would you look at that? Morton, your throat and voice box are all red and irritated. You might have laryngitis, boy." Kamek said.

Bowser Junior, being his young curious self, asked, "What's laryngitis?" he asked, looking at Morton's throat as well.

"Laryngitis is a disease where the voice box that makes you talk gets so irritated that you can barely speak or say anything. So to make it sound simple, Morton lost his voice." Kamek said, closing Morton's mouth.

"Poor Darling. Having a bet to be quiet, now he really is going to be quiet." Wendy said, comforting Morton.

"What will *cough* *cough* Morton do *cough* now." Morton attempted to talk, but his voice began to sound scratchy and painful with each word.

"Well, the good news is, this is fixable. The bad news is that Morton has to start being completely quiet for a while now. The more you talk Morton, the more irritated your voice and throat will be. This disease might last him a week or two." Kamek said worriedly.

"Wait a minute! Did you say stay quiet for a WEEK or TWO?" Lemmy said, now realizing the situation.

"It lo how he didn't talk and how he won the bet and still didn't talk when the bet was finally over.

"So... you're saying I use all those pranks to make them all backfire on me and one to give me horrible nightmares, FOR NOTHING!?" Larry questioned as his eyes began to swirl like Iggy's eyes.

"I'm sorry to not sugarcoat it for you darlings...but yes," Wendy said.

"I told you guys something was up with the scarves!" Larry said looking angrily at his brothers proving he was right all along about being suspicious about the scarves.

Roy gripped his fist like he was going to be engulfed in flames as he protested and said, "But-But THAT'S CHEATING! Roy said as his shades broke from anger from Morton."

"YEAH! I took pills that made me hallucinate and go twice as insane because I was losing sleep because of my brother's silence. Just to hear him say he lost his voice makes me go twice as crazy!?"

"Technically, No it's not cheating. Morton didn't know he was going to lose his voice and he couldn't tell you guys because you guys told him to stay silent for 7 WHOLE days. Your brother was still quiet throughout the bet and followed the rules." Bowser said, explaining.

Ludwig then pointed at his other siblings. "YOU GUYS COULD'VE TOLD US HE LOST HIS VOICE! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US SO WE COULD'VE CALLED HIS BET OFF!" Ludwig said as his hair was not turning red and looked like it was about to burst into flames like dynamite.

"You boys were treating dear Morton with buffoonery disrespect. So we just didn't tell you so he could win this bet to teach you boys a lesson on how you treat him."

"And you made the bet final, so you boys are still having your part of the bet," Bowser said with a stern look.

"And there's something else I need to tell you, boys. Since it's only been a week. Morton still has to be quiet for a few more days, and you know what that means?" Kamek said with a smile.

"Oh no..." The boys said in unison.

"Morton will have to be quiet for another week and he'll be good as new," Kamek said, patting Morton on the head.

Morton smiled as he looked at his siblings and said." Morton...want...ice cream...come siblings...it..on...Morton.." Morton said in a scratchy voice joyfully fixing his scarf.

Wendy, Lemmy, Bowser Junior, and Morton began to walk away from everyone leaving the other siblings searing with anger like their father when the missions failed a mission on him.

"Man, I love Ironic Twist Ending." One Koopa Troop said smiling while also leaving.

As the other minions leave the boys are now red in the face with anger and they explode in rage, breathing fire and going insane as they begin to rip the red carpet and punch the brick walls in complete rage from their humiliating defeat.
