Karakura High School
"Eh! Qin said hi?" Orihime asks,
"Yeah, he seems to like you. Thinks you'd be a good sister to have.." Ichigo pauses, then realizes the implications of what he said. He clears his throat,
"Ahem, nevermind."
Ichigo's friend, Keigo, repeats Ichigo's sentence, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. "Would make a good sister, huh? I wonder what that could mean-" Ichigo interrupts him, red faced.
"It means nothing, okay?"
Another friend, Mizuiro, asks, "Who's this Qin guy, anyway?"
Tatsuki, Ichigo's childhood friend gushes, "He's Ichigo's cousin from his dad's side, from another country. He's a hunk!" She flushes thinking of Qin. "That cool tattoo with his blindfold..it's so mysterious.. in a hot way!"
"He wears a blindfold? What is he, blind?" Mizuiro lifts his eyebrow in confusion.
"Qin's had a surgery when he was a lot younger on his eyes," Ichigo explains, "It made them super sensitive and he wears a blindfold to block out light. Since then, he's wears it 24/7. He's pretty much capable of doing anything with his blindfold on."
"Poor guy, I wonder what it's like living like that.." Ichigo nods solemnly, thinking back to when Qin told them the true reason.
2 years ago...
"So why do you wear that blindfold?" Ichigo asks Qin. It was just him, Isshin, Masaki, and Qin himself in the living room. "I'm also curious," Isshin admits, "What's the point of the blindfold? I thought maybe you were insecure or something, but that doesn't seem to be the case"
"Hm? Oh, it's just my eyes are quite sensitive. I wear it to protect my eyes."
Ichigo then left to go grab something from the kitchen. Isshin then looked at Qin, and asked him again, "Is that the true reason why you wear the blindfold?"
Qin gives him a smile, "Well, somewhat. I see quite well with my eyes, a little too well. Even with the blindfold on, my eyesight is still better than the average humans. Without the blindfold, however, I can do this."He lifts his blindfold and peers at Isshin.
"I know you're wearing underwear with digimon on it."
"W-What the!?" Isshin gasps. "Is that one of your abilities? Qin nods
"I can also see through walls, and other types of objects."
Masaki gives him an ominous smile, "I hope you haven't done that with me, Qin."
"H-Haha, I-I wouldn't dare doing so!" Qin stammers. She returns back to normal. "That's good! Because if else, I was worried I'd have to test the results of my training with Chi You" She says with a large smile.
Qin slightly shivers and thinks, Maybe it was a bad idea teaching her the strongest martial arts I know..
He clears his throat and continues "I also have a condition where I can experience whatever someone else is feeling. I can mostly control it now, but it's rather bothersome."
Isshin stares at him confused, "What do you mean by experience what someone else is feeling?"
"It'd be easier showing." Qin grabs Isshin arm, and makes a cut on it. "Ow! What was that for?"
"You'll live, you big oaf." Qin replies, but then gestures to his own arm. Surprisingly, there was an identical cut on his arm. "See?" He then heals Isshin's cut.
Isshin immediately understands the implications of this, "You said you lived most of your life in the battlefield, right? Knowing this, how did you-"
Qin chuckles, interrupting Isshin. "It sucked, to say in the least. At least in the beginning. It took me a bit to control it, but eventually I learned how to suppress it. Although that's only for people weaker than me. If someone is equal to me, or stronger, I'll gain the same injuries they have."
Masaki sadly looked at Qin, and leaned in to give him a hug. "Still, even if you got used to it, that means you still suffered a lot of pain. I'm sorry about that, Qin."
Isshin joined in the hug. "Haha, at least now you won't ever have to get injuries like that, okay?"
Ichigo who just walked in, still confused on what was happening joins in the hug, although a little embarrassed. He awkwardly rubs Qin's back.
Qin blinks, feeling an inexplainable warmth inside of him. Something he hasn't felt since the day he lost his Māma floods his senses, nearly overwhelming him.
"You guys.." Qin hugs all 3 of them, and gives a big grin.
"What are you guys doing?" Karin comes in the living room with Yuzu. "A group hug?" Yuzu asks excitingly "Let me join!"
"Haha, come in!" Qin smiles and adds, "You too Karin, don't try to leave!"
Karin gives an embarrassed tsk but doesn't refuse and joins the hug. Qin holds them all tight and thinks,
I'm going to protect this family. I don't care if the whole Soul Society comes or whatnot, I'll protect this family I've gained at any cost.

.
"Oi Ichigo! What're you zoning out for?" Keigo slaps the back of his head. He croons and makes kissing noises, "Thinking about Inoue in front of her, eh? That's not good manners!"
Ichigo hits him on the head, "Obviously not. I was thinking of something else."
"Maybe that new transfer student? She seems to be interested in you."
"What're you talking about, idiot?" Ichigo stares at him, baffled.

A few days later
.

Qin walks in Ichigo's room while he's in school.
"...Does he never clean his room?" Qin comments shaking his head, and starts to clean up. He notices a teddy bear. It contained some spirit energy and it slightly moved before he walked in, so he grabbed it.
"What an interesting thing. I know you can move, so stop acting like you don't." Qin squeezed the teddy bear, and as he intended, it started talking.
"Alright alright! I'm sorry! I was just told to keep myself hidden by sister!"
"Who's this sister you speak of?" Qin rubs his chin and thinks, "Ah, you mean that little one Ichigo does those soul reaper activities with? Anyways, let's go, little one." He hauls away the teddy bear as it tries to fight back, but to no avail.
"You will not tell Ichigo anything, alright? He still thinks I'm just a normal man, and I'd like to keep it that way as long as possible" Qin talks to Kon.
Although with everything happening, it might very well slip out soon...
A few hours later
"Hey Qin, have you see a teddy-" Ichigo stops, staring at Qin and Kon leisurely sitting, watching dramas.
"I like this teddy bear you've brought, Ichigo."
Ichigo sweats, "Haha, it's just a normal teddy bear, right? I don't see what's so special about it?"
I really hope this idiot Kon wasn't seen...how am I supposed to even explain this?
"Yep, just a 'normal' teddy bear." Qin smiles, as if mocking Ichigo. "Here, you can have it back, haha!"
Once they were upstairs, Ichigo turned to Kon, "Did he see you?" Kon replies "Of course not! He was just cleaning your room and he saw me and decided to keep me with him. Yep! Everything's fine!"
Ichigo suspiciously looks at him,
"Well, if you say so..."
