Chapter 74.
My brother.
- "You'll see Yami, when I'm a hero I'll inspire many people to be one too, even someone as serious and bitter as you!"-
- "Zack… Who is that?"- Alpha asked.
- "I see you don't remember…"- Yamikumo said.
- "I don't understand what you're saying... I must admit that that name seems familiar..."- Alpha said. – "But I don't see any relationship with the current situation."-
- "That's the point... don't you remember who you were before you were Alpha?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Before being Alpha..."- Alpha said to himself but before he could continue with that train of thoughts, Hiro's voice sounded on his communicator.
- *Alpha, stop wasting time and finish him off!*- Hiro said.
- "As you order, Chairman Hiro!"- Alpha said as he takes out his sword and attacks Yamikumo.
Yamikumo quickly defends himself with his Katana and both begin to clash swords. – "You really don't care to know who you were before?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "I am Hiro's sword and I am only here to follow his orders!" - Alpha said as he blocked a punch from Yamikumo and then kicked him away. – "My duty is to finish you!"- Alpha fires several thorns at Yamikumo.
Yamikumo deflects the thorns with his Katana, however one of them manages to tear his right shoulder. – "Shit!"- Yamikumo quickly turns back to avoid Alpha's punch to the ground with his robotic arm. – "You don't remember, do you?"-
Yamikumo attacks Alpha with a burst of fire, forcing him to put up a force field to defend himself, however, the fire rises and attacks Alpha from the sky, forcing him to dodge.
- "I was right, it can only create force fields in a single direction."- Yamikumo thought when he saw what happened.
Alpha approaches Yamikumo and the two begin to exchange blows. Alpha having the advantage thanks to the Placebo quirk. – "You can't beat me, Atanagi!"- Alpha said.
Yamikumo dodges Alpha's punch and then grabs his arm and throws him against the wall and then jumps away. - "The plan is not to beat you..."- Yamikumo said. – "It's saving you."-
- "Save me... Don't talk nonsense!"- Alpha begins to shoot more thorns from the palm of his left hand, Yamikumo deflects them with his Katana, all while Alpha approaches.
- "I will save you from what they did to you!"- Yamikumo said, however Alpha attacks Yamikumo with his sword, putting Yamikumo on the defensive. – "I will do my duty!"- Alpha said at the moment he manages to deliver a cut to Yamikumo's leg, breaking the pocket, and then knocks him down with a kick.
Alpha advances towards Yamikumo but something on the ground catches his attention.
A photo.
Alpha picks it up and realizes that it is a young Yamikumo, no more than four years old, with a red-haired boy of approximately 14 or 15 years old. – "What is this?"- Alpha asked confused, for some reason this photo looks familiar. - "What is this?!"-
- "It is logical that you recognize the photo..." -Yamikumo said as he gets up from the ground. – "After all you are..."-

Flashback.
During the reunion of Yamikumo and Lady Nagant.
– "Lady Nagant… You haven't changed a bit since the last time we met."- Yamikumo said to the woman in front of him, he hasn't seen her since they escaped that place.
- "I'll take that as a compliment."- Lady Nagant said.
- "In your message you said you had information."- Yamikumo said.
- "Yeah, and I don't think you'll like it..."- Lady Nagant said.
Yamikumo raised an eyebrow. - "Put the suspense aside, I can't be away for long."-
- "Right… Well, I don't know how... but President Hiro survived."- Lady Nagant said.
Yamikumo is surprised, and slightly angry, by this news. - "How is it possible? I made sure he fell to the explosion... "-
- "How he survived is unknown to me... but I'm pretty sure it's him."- Lady Nagant said.
- "Do you think he will try something against us?" – Yamikumo asked.
- "I doubt it... although he still has resentment for everything that happened, I think that now he is focused on something else."- Lady Nagant said. – "And as I hear the news... you may soon run into him..."-
- "What do you mean?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Apparently, somehow, he is related to the league of villains."- Lady Nagant said.
- "League of villains… What the hell does he want with them?"- Yamikumo wondered.
- "No idea... but it can't be anything good..."- Lady Nagant said.
- "Damn... I thought I would never see him again..."- Yamikumo said.
- "I share the feeling..."- Lady Nagant said. – "One more thing... seeing that he was related to the league of villains, I also did some research on it and discovered something interesting..." –
- "What did you discover?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "It's something about their most enigmatic member, Alpha."- Lady Nagant said.
- "Alpha… this could be useful..."- Yamikumo thought. – "Tell me what you know."-
- "Well…" - Lady Nagant begins. – "He is one of the slaves made by Hiro."-
- "One of his slaves..."- Yamikumo said.
- "Yes, I managed to take a photo of him without his mask and thus obtain his identity..." - Lady Nagant said while taking out a photo from her pocket. – "Although unfortunately I still don't know who he is."-
Yamikumo looks at the photo and opens his eyes in surprise. – "What the… No, it can't be…"- He thought.
- "You know him?"- Lady Nagant asked.
- "No... it's just... that guy looks pretty young... he doesn't look older than 20."—Yamikumo said while taking the photo. – "Before drawing conclusions I must make sure..."- He thought.
- "That's all I have... what are we going to do now?" Lady Nagant asked.
- "Hmm… Let me think of something... if Hiro is allied with the league of villains, then it must be a secret alliance."- Yamikumo said.
- "How are you so sure?"- Lady Nagant asked.
- "Because Dabi and Himiko Toga wouldn't be part of the league of villains if they knew that."- Yamikumo said.
- "The crazy girl and the burned boy are in the league of villains?" – Lady Nagant asked.
- "Yes and I think they will be key to this..."- Yamikumo said. – "I have a plan but first I have to prepare some things, I will send you a message with the details once everything is finished."-
- "Alright."- Lady Nagant said and then prepared to leave. – "In that case I'll leave, it was a pleasure to see you again."-
- "Same here."- Yamikumo said and then said goodbye to Lady Nagant and then went somewhere before returning to UA.

Atanagi enters his room in his house through the window, trying to make as little noise as possible. – "It's been a while since I came through the window..."- He thought as he approached his desk and took a photograph out of the drawer. – "I have to make sure... Please don't let it be him..."-
Yamikumo takes the photograph which is from when he was three years old with his adoptive brother, Zack, comparing the photos things are clear. – "Alpha… Alpha is…"-
Flashback end.

- "My brother."- Yamikumo said to Alpha. – "You are my brother, Zack." –
- "Your brother…"- Alpha said but then he feels a strong pain in his head, bringing his hands to his head he begins to feel as if something wants to leave his mind.
- "Zack!"- Yamikumo said worriedly.
Hiro, who is watching the fight, stands up with a frown. – "What the f*ck is going on?!"- He wondered and then activated his communicator again. – "Alpha! Stop wasting your time and put an end to that idiot!"-
As soon as he heard that, Alpha came back to consciousness, dropped the photo and lunged at Yamikumo, knocking him down and trying to stab him with his sword. – "I must do my duty!"- He said.
Yamikumo manages to stop Alpha's sword by holding it by the edge while trying to get Alpha off of him. - "Damn... it seems the indoctrination is very strong... I have to get Zack out."- Yamikumo thought as he expelled fire from the soles of his feet to send Alpha flying. – "I will make you remember who you are!"-
- "I don't need any of that!" - Alpha said as he attacks Yamikumo with his chains, Yamikumo dodges the chains as he approaches Alpha.
They clash swords again but this time Yamikumo uses his free arm to catch Alpha's arm and knock him to the ground. – "Do you remember what you promised me that day?" - Yamikumo said as Alpha struggles. – "You said that you would be a hero who inspires others to be heroes too! Even me who wasn't interested in those things!"-
- "Shut up!"- Alpha said as he quickly frees himself from Yamikumo's grip and knocks him down and then attacks him with his sword.
Yamikumo protects himself with his Katana and creates a Katana of fire in his left hand with which he cuts Alpha's sword, then he kicks him in the chest, making him back down. – "That dream... you achieved it!"- Yamikumo said and then launched his Katana of fire against Alpha who protected himself with a force field, the Katana exploded in fire upon impact with the force field, when the smoke dispersed Yamikumo was already in front of Alpha. – "You were my inspiration to enter UA, I inherited your dream and I promised that I would fulfill it for both of us!"-
Yamikumo punches Alpha in the stomach, for whom, due to his mental confusion, the Placebo quirk was not working. – "What is happening to me?!"- Alpha said having a hard time getting up. – "What are you doing to me?!"-
- "I'm making you remember!"- Yamikumo said as he approaches Alpha but is greeted by a punch to his stomach.
- "With words you won't stop me!"- Alpha said and then stabbed Yamikumo, with the few centimeters of sword that he had left, in the stomach, luckily he did not hurt any organs.
Yamikumo quickly releases a large amount of fire which pushes Alpha away. – "I know you're in there, brother!"- Yamikumo said while punching Alpha in the chest. – "You have to keep fighting to get out!"-
- "Shut up!"- Alpha said while holding his head. – "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"-
Alpha tries to hit Yamikumo but he stops his blow with his hands. – "Do you know what my hero name is?"- Yamikumo throws Alpha against the ground and then surrounds himself with fire. – "I am the Pyrokinesis Hero: Fireheart!"-
This causes Alpha's only visible eye to widen in surprise. - "Fireheart…"- He said.
- *Kill him now Alpha!* - Hiro said from the comm.
- "Yes, Chairman Hiro!"- Alpha said standing up again and regaining his composure. – "Your tricks won't work, Atanagi!"-
Yamikumo dodges Alpha's attacks. - "You used to call me Yami and I hated that nickname!"- Yamikumo said. – "But now my girlfriend calls me that!"-
- "I don't care!"- Alpha tries to attack Yamikumo but he dodges and knocks him to the ground.
- "I hate that nickname, but it's the only thing I had left of you..."- Yamikumo can't take it anymore and breaks down crying, tears falling from his eyes. – "That and the eye you gave me to fulfill our dream!"-
- "Your eye... that eye..."- Alpha said as he pushes Yamikumo off of him. – "That eye is not mine!"-
Alpha fires several thorns at Yamikumo who uses his telekinesis to use debris from the fight to protect himself. - "You gave it to me before you died! It was your last wish that I regain my sight in my right eye!"- Yamikumo, once Alpha stopped shooting, throws the debris at Alpha – "And with this I feel that you are still with me!"-
Alpha does not dodge the debris and is hit by it, but still gets up and uses his chains against Yamikumo. – "Get out of my head!"- He said.
Yamikumo dodges the chains as he approaches Alpha. - "Do you know why my name is Fireheart?! It's not because of my fire!"- He said while approaching Alpha. – "It's because my heart is as hot and bright as fire. With it I will illuminate the darkness within people's hearts!"-
Alpha opens his eye in disbelief, completely stunned by these words. – "Yami…"- He said to Yamikumo's surprise. – "What's going on?"-
Yamikumo is surprised by those words but does not allow himself to be tempted, until he is sure that it is his brother who is speaking he will not stop. - "Zack... Come back to me!"- Yamikumo hits Alpha's face with a strong fire punch which not only knocks Alpha down but also destroys his mask. - "Red fire roar!"-
Alpha falls to the ground, this time he makes no attempt to get up. – "I..."- He said. – "Who the hell am I?"-

Control Room.
Hiro, who was watching everything, is not happy at all. – "What are you doing, Alpha?!"- He said to the communicator. – "Get up and fight!"-
However, Alpha doesn't move, that's when Hiro realizes that the communicator was probably destroyed during that last attack.
Hiro sighs and goes towards the door in the wall at the back of the room. - "Useless..." - He thought while taking off his jacket. – "As the saying goes...if you want something done right...do it yourself."- Hiro leaves the room.

Back with Yamikumo, he approaches Alpha slowly while touching his stomach wound. – "Who are you? Alpha or Zack?"- He asks him, finally being able to see his facial features, indeed, he is Zack, yes, he looks older than when he died, he has several burns on his face and his right eye is now a bionic one.
Alpha looks at him. - "I..."- Suddenly tears begin to come from her left eye. – "I don't know... All this... memories come and go, Zack... Alpha... I don't know what is real and what is fake..."-
Yamikumo stays quiet, he knows it's best to let this guy vent.
- "What am I really? Alpha? The instrument created by Hiro to kill you? A simple machine with a single purpose?" – Alpha said. – "Or am I Zack? Who should be dead? The one whose goal was to protect you? Who I am? Your killer or your protector?! What the fuck am I?!"-
- "I…"- Yamikumo said – "I don't have the answer for that..."- Alpha widens his eyes in surprise as he sees Yamikumo offering him his hand, all this with a smile on his face. – "But together we can find the answer to that."-
Alpha looks at Yamikuom for a few moments and then at his own hands. – "And what happens if I attack you again?"- He asked. – "What happens if who I am turns out to be Alpha?"-
- "Then I'll stop you."- Yamikumo said. – "I promise I will help you find who you are."-
Alpha thinks for a few seconds and then takes Yamikumo's hand who helps him up. – "Thank you."- He said.
- "That's what heroes are for."- Yamikumo said.
However, the moment is interrupted by some applause, Hiro is in the same room as them. – "What a beautiful moment..."- He said.
- "You... so you finally show your face?"- Yamikumo said.
- "Chairman Hiro… I…"- Alpha tried to explain himself but was interrupted by Hiro.
- "Shut up!"- Hiro said silencing Alpha. – "You're useless, Alpha! I thought you were a useful tool but it turns out you're useless! A few simple words and it turns out that you can't fight anymore!"-
- "I'm sorry..." – Alpha said.
- "I don't want to hear anything more from you!"- Hiro said and then looked at Yamikumo. – "And you... I have unfinished business with you!"-
- "That? No guards? No slaves? Nothing to fight your fights for you?"- Yamikumo asked. – "That's not very like you."-
- "I'm not that weakling I used to be when you blew up my slave factory."- Hiro said as he takes off his jacket, showing that his body is now muscular and quite athletic. – "I don't like to get my hands dirty... but with you I'll make an exception." –
- "Better this way, you save me the time of looking for you."- Yamikumo said turning on his Fire Soul, this time he will fight seriously.
- "Alpha, don't move an inch..."- Hiro said. – "When this is over you will go into reconditioning."-
- "I… Yes Chairman Hiro."- Alpha said.
- "It seems that there are still traces of indoctrination within him..."- Yamikumo thought. – "He still can't disobey him"-
- "Very well... Yamikumo Atanagi..."- Hiro said. – "It's time to finish what we started more than a year ago."-
- "I couldn't agree more with you."- Yamikumo said preparing to fight, now that Alpha is out of combat, he can focus on finishing off Hiro once and for all, it shouldn't be too difficult, right?

The battle is over, although we cannot call this a battle, right?
As we all already knew, Alpha is actually Yamikumo's adopted brother brought back to life and turned into a weapon by Hiro.
I hope you liked the chapter, I tried to make it more emotional than epic for obvious reasons.
But this is not over, in fact, it is just beginning.
We still have other fights to go, and now Yamikumo has to face Hiro, a fight in which it will be revealed how Hiro survived his death.
But before that we will have another fight.
The next chapter we will see who we will see their confrontation.
There are still several chapters left to finish the arc and then we will go to the final arc.
