Later that afternoon, Millie and the gang arrived back at the headquarters. Millie didn't hear any phone calls from Maxine or Moxxie, nor did she hear any news on the radio. She decided to go check on them, worried that something bad may have happened.
When she entered the room, she saw Moxxie sitting up in his bed, smiling happily at her. "Hey, babe. How are you doing?" she asked, leaning down to kiss his cheek.
Moxxie wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. "I'm good now, thanks to our wonderful daughter." He said proudly.
Millie raised an eyebrow, "Wonderful daughter? What did Maxine do?" She asked curiously.
Moxxie smirked and winked at her, "She saved my life." He explained.
Millie's eyes widened in shock. "Wait, what?!" she exclaimed. "How?"
Moxxie laughed and shook his head. "It's a long story. Ask her yourself when she wakes up." He said teasingly.
Millie rolled her eyes and sat down beside him, placing a tender kiss on his lips. "I love you," she whispered softly.
Moxxie smiled back at her and kissed her forehead. "I love you too, baby."
The two of them lay there together in silence, content in each other's arms. Maxine watched from the corner of the room, a small smile on her lips.
Her parents were safe, and that's all that mattered.
