Chapter 12
"It's okay kid, I got you" A voice chimed as I could feel tears run down my face. I could feel myself slide off Ari's back, whoever was behind me softly gilded me to the floor. They kept a hand on my shoulder as I cried into Ari's coat. I started to try to regulate my breathing before my crying got worse. I sniffed as I picked up my head from Ari's side,
"Thank you Admiral" a familiar voice spoke
"Of course" said what sounded like a man. I started to whip my eyes as I felt a cool cloth was dangling in front of me,
"Thank you" I sniffed as I wiped down my face
"Are you hurt? Or in pain?" The familiar voice questioned
"No, just startled… bruised at worst" I sniffled, as I blinked a few times. When I managed to clear my vision I saw a large lake with raffs with light blue sails. I watched as a Jinyu tost out nets, and the Striders moved across the water. I jumped a when Karasshi drew his sword,
"Who's there, show yourself" Karasshi commanded, I looked over my shoulder to see Sully, Mishka, Amber, and a night elf with long dark purple hair and skin who was standing in front of all of them. They had all of their weapons up,
"What have you done to our Admiral" growled Sully
"I did nothing to him, this was the work of the Hozen chief Gut Glut" Karasshi grumbled
"Sound like we have a similar enemy here" Said the night elf calmly
"Put down your weapons, this man help save my life" Taylor couched
"Let's all put our weapons away…. Slowly" Karasshi announced, they put daggers and swords back into their scabbards all except for Amber, she grumbled as she put her rifle back on her back.
"I'm Rell Nightwind, thank you for letting our Admiral and his companions stay within your village" the night elf spoke as he bowed his head. He looked like the Spymaster that I saw escorting Aduin to his ship. Mishka gouged over to where Admiral Taylor was sitting. I heard some more muttering then footsteps came over.
"Manlan, Admiral Taylor what's to talk to you" Mishka notified
"Thank you," replied Manlan as he stood up he started to walk over to Admiral Taylor
"You okay lass, I heard what happened" coaxed Sully as he sat next to Ari and I
"I'll be fine" I muttered
"First time experiencing some wanting to kill you is never fun, I remember my first fight," Sully started
"Instead of a giant monkey, it was a Tauren wanting revenge from someone in the group that killed his father. I can't quite remember what he said, the funny thing was that the Dwarf that killed his father was also dead, the Tauren did know that. Apparently the Dwarf that killed his father looked similar to me. The Tauren charged right for me, I was lucky that a good friend of mine was with our group. I didn't sleep that night or any night for a month," Sully told me as he shifted to sit next to me as he relaxed against Ari.
"So a giant enraged cow?" I giggled remembering Tauren were almost like cows standing on their back feet
"Yea a giant cow with a giant ax that wanted to take my head off of my shoulders" Sully reminisced as Ari shuffled to put his head on my lap. I sighed then laid back against him, I puzzled as I noticed that Ari was bigger than before. I pulled Ari's head off my lap then stood up. When I looked back at Ari his fur seemed to take up more space on the floor,
"Ari come" I prompted as I pointed to the ground. He gathered his feet under him then walked over to where I was standing then sat down. He was bigger, the nose could touch my collar bone when it was only able to touch my chest.
"Sully, are you seeing this?" I questioned Sully as I looked behind Ari
"Yea, are you asking me if he looks bigger" Sully stammered
"Sweyns are known to get large" I addressed, Ari whined as he booped his nose against my chest wanting to be petted. I ruffled the fur around his neck when the Alliance airship came into view of the village, almost taking up the hold view of the sky. "Really does the whole airship need to be here"I grumbled to myself
"What is that?" one of the Jinyu stumbled when one of the gnome small planes came down, I clucked Ari closer as the small personal plane came to the ground. I sighed in relief when it was just the Sky Admiral,
"Sky Admiral it's a pleasure to see you" Taylor smiled as she crawled out of the small plane
"Cut the pleasantries Taylor" she said with a voice of authority
"Well then, I need the Alliance forces and I would appreciate if you could join us on finding Anduin and get the horde off of these lands"
"I can't Taylor but I'll get you Alliance reinforcements in two months time" The Sky Admiral snapped back
"Admiral with all do respect we are sitting duck out here, the gods only know what is on this stray island and that is not including the Horde" Taylor nagged getting a little more frustrated
"Oh put your big boy pants on Taylor, look around, recruit some of the locals if you have to, improvise Taylor. I'll see you in two months with the Alliance fleet in hand." the Sky Admiral acknowledged as she walked back to the small plane. The plane lifted off the ground and flew back you to the Airship
"Rogers!" Taylor shouted in anger, then he sighed and grumbled to himself. I have managed to work my way up to where Manlan was standing,
"So what was all that about?" I questioned
"Taylor is frustrated that he doesn't have the number of soldiers that he needs for a search party" Manlan added as he pet the owl that was asleep in his arms.
"I see, anything else" I nodded as I littly stroked the owls head
"Not that I've heard" Manlan quietly announced as the owl purred, the wings of the bird were so long they grazed the grass of the ground. I watched as its gray feathers looked dull but had a soft shine. The white tail feathers were longer than the rest of the feathers of its tail. The poor thing looked tired as it layed in Manlan's arms, he was like that for several minutes
"Me? You want me to go? Bubbled a voice behind us,
"Please bring him back safely" Karasshi grumbled
"Of course I will bring him to you without a scratch" Rell voiced as he bowed his head, before Rell Nightwind he came over and whispered something to Manlan then left with Sully, Amber, and the blue scaled Jinyu. "I wonder who went with them, it seemed no older than me" I thought to myself when Manlan sighed as he tried to wake up his owl to do something.
"Come on big guy we gotta get back to work, break is over" Manlan spoke as he shook the bird awake, I giggled when the owl seemed to grumble when he stretched his wings then took off,
"How old is he?" I questioned as I watched the owl circled a couple of times before coming back to land on Manlan's shoulder,
"I'm not sure he was already a couple of years old when Aldon got him for me for my birthday. He has to be at least four" Manlan spoke as he lightly pat the side of the owl"s face
"Umm four that doesn't seem right" I voice realizing that the timeline was not matching up
"Before Aldon passed he told the Trainer for the hunters to be me two pieces of paper the one I picked was the pet I started training with, he also wrote me a letter," Manlan told as the owl pressed his face against Manlan check
"Really what kind of letter"
"A personal one" Manlan grumbled
"Sorry I don't mean to pray, was it like advice for life?" I questioned
"Yea something like that" Manlan mumbled as the owl screeched
"Alright I should get to helping the Jinyu, try to stay out of trouble" Manlan smiled as he walked off.
