Erin's POV

It was day two of the Battle City Tournament and I was searching for a worthy opponent. Honestly, I wanted someone who would put up a fight. My mind then went back to what I promised Kaiba about making it into the finals and I blushed. His beautiful smirk was still imprinted in my brain.

"Hey"

I jumped out of my skin and whirled around at Rex Raptor.

"Sorry! Didn't mean to do that" the dino duelist apologized.

"No worries I was deep in thought, how are you doing in the tournament Rex?"

"I just got beat by a supposed psychic and gave up my Serpent Night Dragon" he explained. "But I have one locator card left and I heard you have a good deck"

I smirked.

"Are you saying you want to duel me?"

"If you don't mind, I'm likely to lose but I wanna go out of the tournament with a bang"

"Consider it done"

I then looked around for Weevil since he normally was with Rex.

"Weevil is dueling someone else" Rex reassured me.

"Thank god he gives me the creeps"

"His laugh is also annoying"

Both of us chuckled at that before we got ready for our duel. A crowd surrounded us and we each wagered one locator card. Rex started things off with Two-Headed King Rex. He ended his turn with a card face down.

After drawing I summoned Dreamfyre to the field. But instead of having her attack Twin-Headed King Rex right away, I used Dust Tornado to deal with Rex's face-down. That move was a good call because had I attacked with Dreamfyre she would have been destroyed. The magic card would have given Rex's monster a point boost.

"That's one of your cool dragons right?" Rex asked admiring Dreamfyre.

"Yep but don't let her beauty deceive you, Dreamfyre attack! Dracarys!"

Dreamfyre unleashed her dragon fire upon Two-Headed King Rex and my opponent lost 200 life points. I glanced at my hand before playing my face down.

Seto's POV

I had just finished up a duel when Mokuba came through the microphone on my jacket.

"Seto the duelist with the Valyrian deck is close by!"

"How close?"

I wanted to finally know who owned that deck. Pegasus claimed the deck chose its owner but I was skeptical of that. Anything magic-related I brushed off. Mokuba gave me the coordinates where the duelist was and I thanked my little brother. I then heard him chuckling.

"What's so funny kid?"

"Still not going to admit you liked meeting Erin?"

I mentally sweat dropped at my little brother's teasing.

"Talk to you later you goofball"

After Mokuba's end was silenced I followed the coordinates to where the Valyrian deck was being used.

Erin's POV

Rex was a very good opponent. He managed to destroy Dreamfyre and knock my life points down. But in turn, I summoned another monster and on his end, he lost some of his live points too. The match was neck in neck and currently, I had Silver Fang in defense mode and Dark Magician Girl in attack. What I wasn't expecting was for Rex to summon a gorgeous wyvern with attack points at 2200.

"Like my Diamond Wyvern? It's the second rarest card in my deck and now it's gonna destroy you Dark Magician girl!"

Diamond Wyvern did so and my life points lowered even more and Rex was in the lead. My face-down card was useless and though I did have a strong monster in my hand I couldn't summon it without two sacrifices.

Rex ended his turn and I drew. When I saw the card I drew I smirked.

"You put up a good duel Rex but it looks like I won"

"Oh really? How so?"

"First I place Silver Fang in attack mode"

My wolf got into an attack stance.

"Your wolf isn't strong enough for Diamond Wyvern"

"True but now I play this"

I showed him Ancient Rules and Rex swore.

"With this card, I can play any level 5 monster or above, and you are in for a treat because I'm about to summon a powerful beast from the Valyrian deck"

I activated Ancient Rules before slamming the card in question. A roar filled the air as a very large bronze-colored dragon emerged from behind me hissing out dragon fire.

"Holy crap!" Rex exclaimed.

"Meet Vermithor the Bronze Fury!"

Vermithor's attack points were 2900 and strong enough to destroy Diamond Wyvern.

"Aw shit" Rex mumbled realizing he was about to lose. Then he grinned. "Go on ahead Erin"

"Gladly, go Vermithor!"

Vermithor obeyed and unleashed his fiery wrath upon Diamond Wyvern. Rex's beautiful monster turned into pretty white dust and then I commanded Silver Fang to attack Rex directly. My wolf obeyed and Rex's life points went to zero. Vermithor growled and smoke emitted from his nose before he and Silver Fang disappeared.

"Well I went out with a bang alright, nice duel Erin"

"It was a pleasure dueling you Rex, we're definitely having a rematch later"

"Hell ya we will"

Rex then gave me his remaining locator card and Diamond Wyvern.

"Diamond looks good with your deck"

"I'll make sure to use it well"

I then noticed a flash of white and I felt my face go a dark shade of red when I saw Kaiba. The other duelists who watched the duel bailed knowing Kaiba wasn't someone to mess around with.

"Uh oh looks like we got his attention" Rex said noticing the CEO of Kaiba Corp watching. I then mentally swore when my crush started walking my way.

"See you around Erin, I don't wanna stick around with him coming"

Rex then bailed too and the crowd dispersed since the duel was over.

"So you're the Valyrian deck wielder" Kaiba greeted me once coming to a stop. "Your identity was tricky to figure out"

"Bullshit"

I then slapped a hand to my mouth not believing I said something that stupid in front of him.

"Sorry! I wasn't saying your database is that, I meant I find it hard to believe it didn't show me as the owner of the Valyrian deck"

"Relax Erin I know what you meant"

"Good because the last thing I want to do is piss you off"

The hot CEO then proceeded to laugh before continuing.

"You don't piss me off Erin, in fact far from it"

He then looked at my locator card in my hand.

"How many locator cards do you have now?"

"Three hoping to win another one before the day ends"

"You have skill in dueling and your Valyrian deck proves that I'm sure you want to keep your promise on making it into the finals"

"Damn, straight I do" I then face-palmed for a minute. I really needed to stop swearing. "Look I'm not going to lie I really want to duel you, hell I have a lot of respect for you to be honest"

Kaiba arched an eyebrow in curiosity so I went on.

"You work hard to make Kaiba Corp and its products to be successful, yes your young but you exceeded everyone and all expectations, that drive is what I use as an example to obtain my goals, though I tend to get bad headaches if I study too much"

"Well thank you but a word of advice don't overdo it on the studying"

He had a point there.

"Zane isn't with you?"

"We're not together all the time, I love him to death but sometimes he can be a pain in the you know what"

Mokuba's voice then came out of nowhere and I realized it was coming from Kaiba's jacket.

"Looks like you need to go"

"Yes some idiot isn't playing by the rules" Kaiba informed me. "Mokuba isn't too far from here"

I sweat-dropped at that. Who the hell disregarded Seto Kaiba's tournament rules?

I was about to leave when Kaiba suddenly grabbed my wrist.

"Uh is something wrong?"

Kaiba realized what he was doing and hurriedly let me go.

"Sorry about that" he apologized. "See you around Erin"

I nodded and watched the CEO of Kaiba Corp walk away.

That coat makes him even hotter I thought.

Shaking my head I went to find Zane.

Kaiba's POV

I couldn't explain why I had grabbed Erin's wrist like that. One minute I was about to leave and the next the vision of the silvery nine-tailed fox came to me. For some reason I couldn't explain I felt that fox might have had something to do with Erin.

I really do need to quit doing all-nighters I thought to myself.

Erin's POV

"Idiot turned his cell phone off" I growled as I tried calling Zane. The sun was starting to set and I wanted to get back home soon. Zane had to come back with me to our house to get his car.

I then felt I wasn't alone and I also felt uneasy.

"I finally found you my Moonlight"

I whirled around at the alleyway behind me and a human male I knew as Ryou Bakura was smirking at me. He was a good-looking guy with a British accent and the girls at school adored him. But the being before me wasn't my classmate but something else. It was then I noticed the Millennium Item around his neck.

"So you're a spirit like Yami"

"I'm not surprised a nine-tailed fox can tell the difference between me and my host"

He then approached me and I summoned my fox fire.

"Stay back" I warned him. "Unlike Yami, you reek of evil"

The spirit chuckled and it was hot. Damn it! Pay attention, Erin!

"I am not here to harm you"

"I'd say bullshit on that one, what do you want?"

"Simple my dear, you"

Before I could protest the spirit suddenly took me into his arms. My fox fire was gone and I felt myself going red.

"You may not remember Erin, but in time you will" the spirit continued. "5,000 years ago you were a woman named Mareena, a half-human and half-nine-tailed fox in Egypt, you were the love of my life and died in my arms"

The spirit was actually shaking when he said those words.

"I've waited for you since then my Moonlight"

His lips then touched my forehead and I didn't know what to say. My phone then went off and as quickly as he came the spirit was gone.
