"I'm thinking of... a castle in the sky." Glint's hushed voice broke the tens silence they'd been trekking in for w while now. He stayed hidden in Crow hood, speaking directly in his ear. Cayde glanced back at them briefly, then turned back to navigating the trail they were on, seeming satisfied that the Ghost wasn't out in the open; he'd been particularly adamant about never letting Glint drift more than an arms length away from him, and was actually a bit harsh in his insistence about always looking up before letting his Ghost out. Always.

Crow was caught of guard by his Ghost statement for a moment. This was a game they used to play, in the old, lonely days, when it was just them against the world. No memories to play havoc with his psyche, now witch queens or spiders, just them.

"What are you thinking of, Crow?" His Ghost asked. He thought for a moment before answering.

"I'm thinking of... an old wolf." he settled on.

"Castle in the sky and an old wolf." He felt Glint nod. "Hey Cayde, are you thinking of anything?"

Crow isn't sure if he expects the exo to respond, but he sees the other man's head tilt slightly as if in thought, and after a few moments-"I guess I'm thinking about the rat king. You guys know about the rat king, right?"

"Yup!" Glint says cheerfully. "So... What do you guys think is in the castle?"

Over the next hour the three of them spun the wildest yarn they could think of. In the end, the story went more or less like this:

The Rat King was chased out his castle in the sky by a trickster dragon, who then proceeded to wreck ruin upon the Rat King's people. The Rat King tried every trick and trap he could think of, but none of them worked; the dragon was too clever.

Out of options, he delved deep into the woods, and sought out an old wolf who, if tales were to be believed, was part dragon himself. The wolf agreed to fight the dragon, on one condition; if the dragon was forced back into his true self, he would be spared if he swore to never be a dragon again.

Agreement made, the old wolf ran to Rat King's castle, and there a gale of fire lifted his paws off the ground so he could reach it. The Rat King eagerly awaited the fight, to see what the old wolf would do the dragon, but he simply strode up to the throne and sat on it. When the dragon came and demanded the old wolf remove himself, all the old wolf did was stand up, bear his teeth...

And let loose a torrent of golden flame from his mouth, encompassing the entire throne room. It made the dragon's fire look like a candle. He turned into a lowly pit viper and agreed to never be a dragon again.
