(fair warning, I suck at writing female characters)

Honei CIty. Wonderful place (minus the crime rate), but it was where Dakota lived, so it's our little setting.

Dakota was just sitting in the home of his family. He was watching the TV he bought a few months back for his 15th birthday. After flicking through his usual watch of whatever Midnight was doing (since she reminded him so much of his own mother, minus the whole…"provocative" nature), a TV news network was under some breaking news. "A popular Hot Topic is being held hostage by several robbers! Why they chose a Hot Topic, we don't quite know, but we need heroes here ASAP!" Dakota knew this was his time. Usually, the Pros were dealing with larger threats, so Dakota put his shoes on,grabbed his non-lethal training scythe, and ran straight to the Hot Topic.

At the Hot Topic, three robbers with two holding pistols, and one, presumably the leader, holding an AR-15, were pointing it at the workers and customers, one of which being a rather attractive gothic-style woman…her name was Sav, but everyone knew her as Creep. She was short, around 5'2, but, according to the boys her age, she was beautiful, tall, a little more well-endowed, and always had a thing for the supernatural. She was freaking out on the inside, staying down so she wouldn't get shot, despite her Quirk being cartoon physics. The leader yelled, "EVERYONE, STAY ON THE FUCKIN' GROUND BEFORE I START CAPPIN' PEOPLE!"

Dakota sighed. He rushed in, and proceeded to swing his scythe. It hit the leader in the head like a baseball bat, knocking the man out but getting the attention of the other two. Creep, who really only heard about this boy from the grapevine, tried to distract the two robbers. "HEY, ROBBERS! I'M UP, COME SHOOT!" She taunted, getting up and shaking her arms in the air. When the robbers were about to fire, Dakota quickly grabbed their heads by jumping into the air, and crashed them into each other, knocking them out.

The hostages looked in honest shock as they stared at the young boy who just saved their lives, got up, speechless. Dakota looked at one of the gothic cashiers, smiling as he saw them call the police, who were coming in fast. Funnily enough, Midnight had conveniently came in right as Dakota finished his job. She glared angrily, "WHERE ARE THE RO-" She stopped as she saw the half-demon dragging one of the knocked-out robbers, trying to dispose of the firearms in their pockets. She seemed curious, as she looked at Creep. "Are you all alright?"

Creep nodded happily. "Oh, yeah, we're fine! The uh….I don't know his name, but he saved us!" She giggled slightly, "Sure, I almost died, but whatever, we're good." Dakota, meanwhile, was absolutely flabbergasted to see Midnight in the flesh….well, in the hero suit. Midnight looked down at the short half-demon, and seemed surprised. "Ohhhh, you did it? Well, that's a bit of a pleasant surprise. You seem strong enough," She chuckled. "Well, the name's Midnight, but you can call it Nemuri, dear. You are?" Dakota, clearing his throat, shakily held out his hand for a shake. "U-Um, D…Dakota, Midni-" Midnight huffed. "Call me Nemuri." "N-Nemuri! Sorry.." He chuckled. "Nice to meet you…"

They exchanged handshakes, but Creep quickly huffed. "You know, if you're gonna allow me to come to UA, you gotta at least make him come, too!" Dakota quickly stopped in his tracks. "No! No, hell no!" Midnight blinked, surprised. "Why not? You're clearly strong enough!" Dakota huffed, crossing his arms. "Because people clearly hate me for being me? I mean, c'mon, I can't control my genetics!" He said. "Besides, too much bad press about all the villain attacks that happen there! Plus, haven't the entrance exams already happened?" Midnight chuckled. "Welllll….yeah, they did, however…I can always request you via recommendation." Dakota grumbled. "Oh please, I don't know if they'd allow a demon there anyway…" Creep groaned, nudging Dakota. "Come on! Please!?" Dakota looked at the goth girl, and went quiet for just a second, taking in the look of the attractive woman that was his age. "...Fine. Fine, I'll join. The people at my high school suck majorly, anyway…."

Midnight hugged the small demon, smiling. "That's the spirit!" Dakota blinked, surprised by the hug but giving her a quick one before he jumped out of her arms. The police rolled in, carrying the robbers to the cop cars as Dakota, Midnight, Creep, the employees and the previous hostages watched. This would mark the beginning of Dakota's heroic journey of love, loss, and power.
