The first day of UA High's year started. Several students are walking to the inside of the building- ranging from relatively normal people like a boy with green, fluffy hair, to people with pink skin and horns, to Dakota. But Dakota stopped suddenly when he heard a voice call out to him. "DAKOTAAAA!" Creep yelled as she ran to him, stopping when she approached him. "Heya! Glad to see they agreed to see you, man!" Dakota chuckled, nodding. "I….I guess I am, too, uh- wait, I never got your name." Creep giggled nervously, smiling. "I'm Creep! Well….my real name's Sav, but I prefer Creep." Dakota gently shook her hand. "Nice to meet ya. So..what class are you in?"
Creep pulled out her schedule. "I'm in 1-A!" She giggled, "You are?" Dakota blinked. "I'm in 1-A, too. Sweet." "Hell yeah! I'm so glad to be in the same class as y-" Dakota stopped Creep's sentence. "Woah, calm down a bit…I don't get why you immediately favor me, anyway. I was literally just helping with the Hot Topic." Creep sighed, as she nodded. "Yeah, well….you saved me, y'know? They had me in a tight spot, I couldn't just fight them. Sure, I could've maybe dropped an anvil on one of them, but two others would shoot. I would've died." She said, gently patting his small head. "But you, well…either you have a death wish or you're the bravest man I've ever met." She said, smiling just a bit. Dakota blushed just a little at the sudden affection, but quickly tried to dismiss it, clearing his throat. "It's…no big deal, Creep." He said. "Maybe we should just…head in."
As they walked through the bustling halls, Creep made sure to grab Dakota's wrist gently, since he was a tiny dude that would've got lost in the crowd if not for her. They both walked to the door that led to their own futures- 1-A. Creep seemed oddly nervous. "...Dakota?" "Yeah?" Dakota asked, looking up at her. "...You ready?" "Yep."
When they entered, they weren't the first ones there, and definitely not the last ones. There were just a few other people- a boy with green hair who seemed pretty shy, a bad-boy like male with spiky, blonde hair who had his feet kicked up on the desk, and a girl with pudgy cheeks and brown hair. Dakota, who looked at them from behind Creep, seemed to feel the nervousness of the new school. The green-haired boy looked at them. "Oh, uhm…h-hey!" He said, approaching the two, "Who are you two?"
Dakota blinked, as he approached. "I uhm…ahem, sorry, just a bit shy." "Oh, no worries." The other boy said, "I'm Izuku Midoriya." Creep blinked. "I'm Creep, and this here, is Dakota." Dakota waved, as Izuku smiled. "Nice to meet you two!" They nodded, as the blonde boy complained. "Hey nerds, stop talkin' like dweebs!" Dakota groaned slightly as Izuku sighed. "Sit wherever you want, I'm guessing." Creep and Dakota, seen as how they mainly knew each other, decided to sit together. Bakugou groaned, seeing Dakota next to him. "Whatever….don't get comfortable, freak. Just know nobody's welcome here but me."
Creep looked at Bakugou with a look of disgust before looking away, rolling her eyes. Dakota, however, didn't do anything. He HATED being called a "freak", but in order to keep his cool, he tried his best to ignore it. More kids flooded into the class, including a blue-haired boy, a male with grape-like hairballs, the pink-skinned female from way earlier, some bird guy that looked like he came from a My Chemical Romance concert, and worst of all- a guy who sometimes spoke French.
The room was chock full of voices now- some loud, some quiet- some getting along, others…not so much. But then the teacher came into the room- a tall man with black, messy hair and facial hair, black clothes, odd bandages around his neck, and a cup of coffee. This was Eraserhead, or as they'll know him now, Mr. Aizawa. He stood, tired, as he stayed serious. "Good afternoon, class. I am Mr. Aizawa, your homeroom teacher." The whole class, despite being surprised that a Pro Hero was teaching them, stood, and bowed for him. "Good morning, Mr. Aizawa!" They all said in unison, Dakota and Creep included. They sat down right after, as Aizawa went over the explanation of how the year would work for them, as well as how dorms worked and such. (If you ever watched My Hero Academia, you'll probably know how this worked.) Aizawa stood. "Now, we must do something important- a way to weed out the weaker, as they say."
Everyone, being surprised about this, went out with him as he carried a softball in his hand. Creep looked at Dakota, as she seemed even more nervous. "Did you ever hear about something like this?" Dakota, actually genuinely nervous, shook his head. "No, remember? You and Midnight both wanted me to be here." Creep, realizing what he meant, nodded. "Riiight. Sorry." As they exited the building and went outside, Aizawa explained the rules. "I want every one of you to grab a softball, and, one at a time, throw it as far as you can while using your Quirk. Whoever throws the softball the closest to us leaves UA without a chance of coming back."
Everyone blinked, utterly shocked at this. Nobody expected this test- hell it wasn't on the syllabus! But, Mr. Aizawa tossed the softball he had to Dakota "You. Dakota, right?" Dakota poked his head out. "Yeah, uhm…I'm Dakot-" "Great, come up here and show us how it's done!" Aizawa said, as he grabbed Dakota's wrist and set him right where he wanted him to throw. Dakota started getting anxious. Getting nervous. Every move he made felt like a wrong decision, but he knew he had to do SOMETHING. So, he took a deep breath, and made a shadow clone of himself. The students stared in confusion, as Dakota took five steps back, making himself a shadow baseball bat. He gripped it, and started yelling. "HEY BATTA BATTA! HEYYYY BATTA BATTA!" When the clone threw it, he gripped it, swinging the hardest he could. "SWING!" When the bat connected with the ball, it could've had its own impact frames, because it sent the softball flying out of anyone's possible eyesight, as well as shattering the bat in half. The students, especially Creep, stared at the sheer power of the hit, and Aizawa even seemed impressed. "...Jesus. Okay, just…just go stand with the others."
Dakota nodded, standing with the others as Creep went up to go next. She used dynamite, lighting it as she attached it to the ball. She threw it, and when it exploded, it went way farther. People seemed less impressed by it, but still loved her Quirk- especially Dakota, smiling and clapping like an absolute fucking idiot. That made Creep giggle as she walked back to the line. Everyone else went eventually, and once the last person threw, Aizawa sighed. "That was everyone! And the person who's being taken home, is….nobody!" He said with a terrifying grin. "I just wanted you all to try your best!"
Everyone stared in shock, a little upset they were lied to, but they were all relieved that none of them were leaving. The rest of the school day went as normal- English with Present Mic, Health with All Might, the usual subjects. However, they still had General Hero Studies with Midnight, and they had to pick their hero names. (This will be in the next chapter)
