Second personality
Chris was like a totally different person. Honestly, I didn't want to believe what I saw at first. I even thought that she was acting. But the person in front of me was nothing like the arrogant-looking woman I knew. Her eyes, posture, and behaviors were like those of someone I've never known before.
Her second personality...
"Look at your shocked face..." The arrogant-looking woman reached her hand out and stroked my cheek with the back of her hand as if she adored me. "Don't worry. Chris loves Kam a lot."
The new Chris called herself "Chris" and called me "Kan" as if we were close. I almost let out a smile, but I kept it in because I was still at a loss for what to do. But it was good... Calling each other like that made us seem close.
Why did I feel good?
By the way... what did she just say?
"Love... ?"
"Yes. Don't overthink." Chris said that playfully. She seemed playful and overboard. "And slapping me was also too aggressive. But since it's Little Awww, I forgive you."
"Little Awww?"
"Yes... you're my little Aww." The arrogant-looking woman put both hands on her chest as if she were very proud of the nickname she gave me. "It's so cute and adorable. But your slap was very hard. Did you use your hand or your foot?"
Oh... this is definitely not the Chris that I knew. Her second personality really existed. I thought Meen was just babbling.
I was sitting there stiffly because I didn't know what to do. The person who was not at all herself, or actually, she's probably the most herself she's ever been since Chris was not suppressing herself, was moving closer to me. She wrapped her arm around my neck.
"I want to clear things up with you. Why do we have to fight? It is of no use to anyone. You didn't want to hit me, did you?"
"No, I didn't..." I replied softly. "You made me lose control of myself."
"I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I forgive you for your sin. We're even. Let's go back to being good friends. Yay."
"…"
"Oh. You're so quiet. I think we need to bond through alcohol. Wait here. Don't go anywhere."
The new Chris got up and disappeared with the beer mugs I brought. The arrogant-looking woman came back after less than two minutes with two bottles of beer. She poured the beer into the mug and handed it to me. The mug contained almost an entire bottle of beer.
"Here. Cheers... You need to get drunk a bit so we can make up and be friendly towards each other."
I took the mug and drank the beer as desired by the person by my side. I can handle alcohol very well because, like I said, I drink beer for water. Chris didn't know that and thought that beer could make me more relaxed.
"So, do you feel better after more beer?"
"Ah... huh."
I didn't feel any different...
"Let's chit-chat. Tell me something about yourself."
"I don't know what to tell you. There's nothing interesting in my life."
"It can be anything."
"You go first, then. If you want to know about me, we should trade."
"You're so demanding, Miss Female Announcer." Chris shrugs a bit. "Okay. I'll start so we can talk some more. And I want you, my little Awww, to know more about me as well."
"Ah-huh."
She's so cute...
"My real name is Carissa. My father is a man, and my mother is a woman. I graduated from a private university with a very expensive tuition fee because I was too stupid to get into a public university. Our educational system sucks, don't you think?"
"Ah-huh."
"But I won't blame anyone. Not being able to get into a public university didn't lower my quality of life. My hobby is looking at new video editing techniques on YouTube. I also like to watch the sports news because you're the announcer."
Thump Thump...
I pressed my lips together tightly because I was excited to hear that. Normally, people don't care that much about the sports news announcer. Even if they are interested, it was for the news, not me.
"Hey... seriously." The arrogant-looking woman saw that I went quiet, so she called me. I was startled when she poked her finger into my cheek.
"Huh?"
"Are you cute like this since you were born?"
Wow...
I dropped my jaw at that compliment. Chris laughed merrily when she saw that I was stunned.
"I memorized that from a Korean series. It's quite a line, huh?"
"Geez. I thought you were really complimenting me."
"You're really cute. Otherwise, I wouldn't love you this muchhhhh." And the arrogant-looking woman sips her beer. "We were talking about me. Ah... what else do I want to tell little Awww? Ah! This."
"What?"
"My blood type is AB-RH negative."
"No way." I put my hand on my chest. Chris glanced at me, surprised at what I just said.
"What do you mean, no way? Why would I lie to you?"
"No. No. I didn't exclaim that because I didn't believe you. Well..." I hurriedly told my side of the story. "I also have that blood type."
"Crazy."
"Right?"
"This is destiny."
"Very shocking."
"We should hook up."
"Ah…"
"HAHA I was kidding!"
And Chris did the unexpected. She pushed her head onto my shoulder, like a cat rubbing its body against you, to ask for tenderness. My heart raced as I looked at that. I went a bit soft and let her continue to do that because it didn't at all feel bad.
Or, was I actually drunk? Anyway, it was fun.
"You like to ask for tenderness?" I asked the person beside me as she continued to rub her head against me. I couldn't help but reach out my hand to play with her short hair adoringly. "It would be great if you're like this when you're your normal self. We could be close friends."
"I'm a bit difficult to get through to when I'm my normal self."
"Yes. Very hard to read... But since we're close, tell me something."
"Sure. Since we're close." The arrogant-looking one rested her chin on her hand and stared at me intently. "What is it? What do you want me to tell you? If you want me to confess my love, I will do it now... I love you."
"Such a sweet talker." I laughed and shook my head. "It's something more important than that. But I'm not sure if you'd tell me the truth."
"What is it?"
"Are you Apple?"
I'm not sure how effective asking her directly would be. Maybe it would make her sober. Or maybe she would try to change the topic. Yet... Chris tends to do the unexpected. She has a second personality. She confessed her love to me. And also this...
"Yes. Chris is Apple." The arrogant-looking woman reached her hand out to lift my chin and leaned in, as if she were about to kiss me. But before our lips touched, the person said the words that only Apple knew. "Dear you... who is love."
It's really her...
Thump Thump...
As soon as my heart began to skip a beat, aided by the fact that I was intoxicated and the setting was ideal, I tilted my head in preparation for the kiss. Yet we heard Puth's voice as he walked out to look for us.
Gasp...
Chris and I opened our eyes. Our noses touched slightly. We were frozen for a moment, then we hurriedly got up as if we were caught doing something bad.
What were we about to do just then...
"Ah. You're here. I was wondering where you went. What are you doing here?"
"Hey, Chinese Zombie."
Chris interrupts Puth. He looked at her as if he had just seen a ghost.
"What did you call me?"
"Why did you have to show up at our climax..." Chris's voice and posture showed that she was really frustrated. I didn't know why I almost laughed out loud.
She said climax... That's funny.
"Are you drunk... Hurry up and get back inside. You're being rude. Everyone is here for your farewell party, but you come sit here all alone."
Puth grabbed his sister's collar from behind and dragged her back inside. I walked after them until we reached our table. Once we got there, Jeth asked where we were out of good manners. He initiated another cheer.
"Last one. Cheers. Let's say good-bye to our lovely sister, who won't be working with us anymore."
"Who said so?"
Chris interrupted. She was the only one who didn't lift up her mug. Everyone turned to look at the strange behavior of Chris's second personality, confused.
"You said that you're quitting. We're here to bid farewell to you. Hurry up, cheers!" Puth reminded his sister why we were there. Yet his sister shook her head.
"Why should I cheer? I'm not quitting."
"Oh! You said you wanted to quit."
"Not quitting! What would I eat if I quit? Are you crazy?"
And the arrogant-looking woman got up and shouted loudly. She almost stopped the party. Actually, the mood was very gloomy, but I almost laughed. I looked at her cute reaction and found it to be adorable.
I intended to get her drunk more often if she would be like this when she's drunk.
"You have to be really drunk right now. Who are you?"
"You can call me Karakate."
"Okay. She's really drunk... Let's split up. I'll take my sister home." Puth couldn't stand to see his sister's second personality anymore, so he ended the party. He was about to drag Chris home, but the arrogant-looking woman waved her hand to stop him arrogantly.
"No need. I can get home myself. But let me say goodbye to the beautiful lady first."
The beautiful lady must have been me, because there were only two women there. Chris walked over to me and leaned in. She cradled my face in her palms and locked her target.
Smack...
Her moist lips touched my forehead delicately. I dropped my jaw. And yes... everyone else on the table did the same.
"What the f*** did you just do?" Puth dropped his jaw, speechless. Chris turned to reply to him nonchalantly.
"I said goodbye to little Awww."
"Little Awww?"
Puth repeated what Chris just called me, not believing what he just heard, while Chris stopped paying attention to her brother. Instead, she turned to talk to me with a smile on her face.
"Sweet dreams, MY Aontakam." She then whispered for only the two of us to hear. "Don't tell anyone about today. Let's keep it a secret between us. Pretend you know nothing."
Thump Thump.
"Go home this instant, you crazy kid."
"Ouch. Why are you being so aggressive!"
Chris was dragged home among everyone's shocks. I rubbed my forehead repeatedly. Jeth and Tho walked over to sit beside me and looked at me with twisted faces.
"I'm really sorry, Kam. Ah... Chris must be really drunk to cross the line like that."
"Ifs okay. I'm not angry."
I replied honestly and tried not to smile.
I wasn't angry at all... I actually liked it.
When I think about this part, I almost laugh. I look at the arrogant-looking woman who's still deep asleep. She's breathing evenly. I felt a certain cute aggression towards her and wanted to pounch on her. But I don't want to wake her up. So I only lean in to gently get a taste of her lower lip without waking her up.
Yet before I can do that... the person whom I thought was sleeping wraps her arms around me, who's lying on top of her, and locks me with her legs.
"You're awake?"
"I've been awake for a while now. I was waiting for you to stop staring at me." Chris says this as she slowly opens her eyes. We stare at each other for a while and smile at each other. "What were you thinking?"
"I was thinking about stealing a kiss from you. But you woke up first."
"Why would you do that if I wouldn't feel anything because I was asleep?"
"But... it seems like you're not asleep."
Chris flips me over, so I'm beneath her. She's now on top of me.
"This is what happens when you wake the tiger up."
"You actually like sex, don't you?"
"Don't you like it?" Chris seems a bit stunned because I've never talked about this with her. "If you're not okay..."
"I just want to tell you that we're a perfect match... Get down, now." I push Chris down to the position I want. "Let's see who likes sex more."
"We're so perfect for each other that we can never break up now."
