A Power Couple

Chapter 26

Hours Later

"Momma loves her boys more then anything."

"Have a good nigght sleep." Brooke proclaimed. Leaning over to kiss their faces.

"We love you too momma." They said in unison.

Brooke turned out the lights. Put in the nightlight. And left the room. She made her way through the hallway.

Went into the bedroom and looked to him.

"Are we going to ignore what happened earlier between us at the store?" Brooke asked.

"You want to make it seem like everything is going to be okay."

"And you don't know that. Neither of us do."

"I can't and won't do this without you." Lucas said.

"What are you saying?" Brooke asked.

"Brooke i really don't want to keep discussing and going back and forth." Lucas said.

"Do you think any of this is easy for me?" Brooke asked. The emotion in her voice thick.

"I love this baby. I love all of you so much."

"But i know there is a reason this baby is being brought in our family. I'm going to bring her into the world."

"You just need to believe it. In me. In our love."

"I need you with me through this. Lucas please." Brooke insisted.

"I need some air." Lucas said. As he left the bedroom.

Weeks later

As i entered my second trimister.14 weeks. My hunger was back in a real way. My belly had popped. We announced the pregnancy.

Which was met with mixed reaction. Surprise. Joy. Etc.

"Are you going to Brood all night?"

"This is a celebration our loved ones put together."

"To celebrate this new addition to our family."

"Will you try to enjoy yourself?" "I'm going to call Karen and see how the boys are doing." Brooke replied.

As she walked away to a quieter part of Tric.

And got out her cellphone.

Lucas got out his wallet. Putting money on the bar.

Brooke eventually grew tired and needing to be home. Comfortable.

So she searched for Lucas and found him.

His hands pulled in tight. As he pushed her up against the wall. Blond locks falling on his face.

The bodies morphed together.

Their kissing so full on he hadn't even noticed her.

Brooke swallowed hard. Tears falling from her face.

As she left. Her hand on her belly.

She drove home in the car. They had ridden in together.

Once she got home she thanked Karen.

And made her way upstairs. She changed into her nightgown.

And kept the lights off. Climbing into bed.

Burying her face as she sobbed.
