In the bright and bustling streets of Luminous city, a little fletchling flutters through the magenta plaza before resting in one of the open windows. Inside it rested on the sleeping brown haired kid, before the bird Pokémon was eaten by the large T-Rex Pokémon, to which it burped so loudly it woke the kid up and caused him to fall out of his bed. "HABLAFA!" He spouted before falling to the floor. "Ugh… well that's one alarm that'll get me up!" He laughed, smiling at his Pokémon before getting up and stretching. "Morning Titanasaur…." He groaned before hearing a feminine voice downstairs. "Nathan! Could you give me a hand down here?" It asked. "Oh! Sure mom! Let me get dressed first!" The kid, Nathan, replied before heading to the mirror. And swapped his gengar pajamas for a black shirt with a greninja on it underneath a blue button up jacket, a red backpack with a couple stickers of various Pokémon on it, a pair of green pants with black shoes, and a red cap with a pair of small sunglasses on it.
With him being fully dressed, Nathan returned his tyrantrum to his ball and went downstairs, where his mother, Selina, a brown haired woman with blue eyes and in a tan shirt with blue jeans underneath a white apron with a coffee logo on it, was in the mist of finishing an order. "There you are sweetheart! Take this to table 5, oh! And push the eggs, I'm sure they will expire tomorrow!" She said, handing a plate with a latte on it. "On it mom!" Nathan immediately took the latte to the table. "And after that, have your Pokémon help with orders, the morning rush is coming! Except yveltal! I don't want him to frighten away customers!" His mother continued. "Mom you do know that they're Pokémon, not employees right?" "We have metangs and machokes helping with transportation and cargo. I'm sure we can have your mons help with orders!" Nathan signed and sent out five of his Pokémon: The stone T-Rex Pokémon. A swordlike Pokémon with flap-like arms and a shield. A feminine humanoid Pokémon with green hair, flaps that covered its legs like a dress, and a small red spike in its chest. A large wyvern Pokémon with bat-like facial features, a tuft of white fur that stretched around the neck and large speaker-like ears. And finally a humanoid frog with a large tongue-like scarf that covered its mouth, tall agular fins on its head and webbed hands and feet. "Alright fellas, breakfast rush is a commin'! Stations now!" He ordered the Pokémon then rushed to their stations, the Gardivoir and the aegislash had acted as the waiters taking the orders, while the tyrantrum and noivern aided Selina with cooking and making drinks.
The greninja however grabbed Nathan, placed him on his back and slid towards the table. "Huh! Glad to see you helping him even if it isn't a battle!" Nathan and the greninja looked upwards to see the customer was none other than Serana. A blonde, short haired girl about his age wearing a black shirt with a red skirt, long black stockings that ended in black shoes and wore a red hat with sunglasses like Nathan did. "Oh Serena! I wasn't expecting to see you here!" Nathan said surprised, getting on his feet. "Or being on the back of a Pokémon?" Serena replied, jokingly. "Hey he insisted!" Nathan replied before turning to his Pokémon. "Right Night Tide?" "Greninja!" The Pokémon replied, making his trainer smile. "Yeah I know." Serena then turned to the wall, where a particular photo of her, Nathan and the rest of the gang. "Four whole years since our journey throughout the region…." She said remembering the past. "Say what happened to the rest of the gang?" Nathan asked. "Well from what I've heard, Tierno is planning to open his own dance studio later this month, Travis was so devoted to completing the Pokédex that he ended up becoming the professor sycamore's assistant!" Serena answered. "Huh! Good for them! Glad to hear that they're doing what they love!" Nathan said proudly. "But what about you and Shauna?" "Shauna's planning to retake the gym challenge next year, she's been training with her Pokémon nonstop, so you might be in for a real challenge! As for me, I'm simply traveling around Kalos, exploring the region in a new way, and the most surprising part is that your mother remodeled Lysandre's cafe!" "Yeah, with him gone, mom thought that it would be a good idea to open her own cafe using Lysandre's base." Nathan explained, "Not to mention being the champion made me a perfect spokesperson for it." "Lucky you!" "Nathan, we've got more orders coming in!" "Oh gotta go, we'll chat after work!" "Fine by me!" "Greninja!" The two then left to do their job.
Once his shift was complete, The trainer went out and saw Serena standing near the plaza tower. "Heya!" "Glad to see you could make it!" Serena answered, "Yeah, work was a little staggering, about 5 customers wanted to take my picture!" Nathan answered, Serena smiled. "So I was thinking, how about you and I good old fashioned Pokémon battle, like old times!" "Huh! Sounds good to me! Let's do it!"
Soon after getting into position, the two trainers began their battle. Serena sent out her meowstic, while Nathan sent out Night Tide. "Alright meowstic, use Shadow ball now!" The Pokémon immediately headed its owner's command and unleashed a ball of ghostly energy and blasted it at the greninja, but due to its dark typing, it was able to resist very well. "Night tide, use night slash!" The water/dark type immediately generated black claws that slashed the meowstic's defenses and easily defeated it. "Nice work buddy!" Nathan cheered. "Greninja! Greninja!" The Pokémon cheered, acting like a celebrity. "Oh that's how it is huh? Alright then, GO CHESNAUGHT!" The female trainer then tossed out a large Pokémon with a large shell and tufts of fur on its body. "Leaf storm now!" The Pokémon immediately drew up a blast of leaves that bombarded the Pokémon to the point where he was almost down. "Oh boy, return, Night tide!" Nathan then pulled out his pokeball and returned his Pokémon to it. "Time for plan B. Hit 'em where it hurts, Echo!" Nathan then tossed a dusk ball and out came his Noivern. "Noivern!" "Chesnaught hammer arm now!" The Pokémon then raised its hand up and rained down on its opponent. "Echo, dodge and use Fly!" The dragon/flying type immediately dodged back and blasted upwards to the sky. The grass/fighting type still had its guard up before it heard a sound, low at first but quickly getting faster, it turned up and saw its opponent headed straight for, unfortunately it wasn't fast enough to react and the move was a direct hit. The grass type managed to survive but barely. "Chesnaught now use seed bomb!" Chesnaught immediately tossed multiple seed-like grenades at the Pokemon, directly hitting the other Pokemon. "Now flamethrower!" Nathan ordered before the Pokemon opened her mouth and shot a burst of fire that finished off the chesnaught. Serena sighed and retracted her Pokemon.
"You're pretty good, how about we even out the types? Go altaria!" Serena then sent out a blue bird Pokemon with a long neck and large cloud wings. With the types evenly matched, they stood down one another, before one trainer broke the silence. "Altaria, Moonblast!" The bird Pokemon then created a small moon, absorbed it's energy and unleashed it directly at the opponent, the blast sent it far back and weakened it greatly. "Don't give up, Echo hit 'em with Draco meteor!" The Pokemon then got up on her feet and flashed a beam into the sky and from it, several meteors fell from the sky and onto the altaria, leaving the Pokemon down for the count. "Awesome!" Unfortunately it took too much out of her and Echo was out cold. "Yeah, you deserve a break after that!" Nathan then returned the Pokemon to its ball. "Alright, what's next Serena?" Nathan asked, ready to send out his next Pokemon. "If you want to know, show him what for, clefable!" Serena answered before showing a large adorable Pokemon with large fairy wings. "Clefable huh?" Nathan replied before pulling out a net ball. "Go for it, shadowsaber!" Throwing the net ball and from it the aegislash in shield form. "I still can't believe you keep a ghost and steel type in a net ball!" Serena commented. "Hey, I can't help it how these balls work!" Nathan replied, "Whatever, Clefable, use metronome!" Clefable then drew its finger in the air before landing on one move, and used flamethrower, setting out a blast of fire. "Quick king's shield now!" Nathan commanded, causing Shadowsaber to generate a barrier with its shield that managed to block the incoming attack. "Now switch to blade form and use flash cannon!" The sword Pokemon then grabbed the shield with her hand and shot out of a blast of energy that directly hit the opponent.
With the clefable down, Serena was down to her last Pokemon. "Time for the heavy artillery!" Serena said, determined to win. Sending out her absol, one with a bandana around its neck with a small stone on it. "Return, Shadowsaber!" Nathan said, retracting his Pokemon and sending out his next Pokemon, his gardevoir, kineticx, with a small bow tie around his neck. "I think we know what happens next! Don't you?" Nathan said, reading his mega ring. "You know it!" Serena replied with her own ring ready. "Absol/Kineticx! Mega evolve!" The two taped the stones on their rings, activating the mega evolution on their Pokemon. While Absol managed to sprout a pair of beautiful wings, Kineticx's robe became a full on ball gown with his green arms becoming pure white and small fins emerging from both sides of his head. "Absol use megahorn!" The absol immediately rushed towards the Gardevoir with a glowing horn and bashed at the Pokémon with immense strength. The two were At both ends. "Quick! Counter with dazzling gleam!" Kineticx immediately generated a flash of energy that damaged the other Pokémon. The blast was strong enough to defeat the enemy, leaving Gardevoir and Nathan the winners!
"At this point, fighting you and losing is just natural now." Serena signed, retracting her absol. "Well at least you put up a good fight!" Nathan said before the two shook hands. "So what else do you wanna do?" "How about we head over to Geosenge town? I heard they're finally planning to do something about the remains of the ultimate weapon!" Serena suggested "They allowed those parts to rest for four whole years? Jeez, those people are slow!" Nathan replied, surprised. "But let me heal up my Pokémon first, really put up a fight!" "Ok see ya!"
At the Pokémon center, Nathan gave the Pokémon to the local nurse Joy, who healed them before handing them back to him. "Thanks nurse joy number…?" "8962, thank you! Oh before you go, mind having a little photo of you in front of the building, we're getting crushed in the ratings from the one in north boulevard." The nurse requested, to which the champion agreed. "Sure, anything to help with business!"
Once outside, Nathan got ready for his shoot. "Alright, so just want me, or my ace, heck I could even get my whole team in…" "Actually I was hoping that you and yveltal would be in it." Nurse joy interrupted. "Are you sure? I only use him for specific situations!" "I know but the champion and a legendary Pokémon would explode on our pokebook!" "Alright if you say so…." Nathan then reached into his bag and pulled out an extremely rare master ball. "Yveltal help me out!" With one throw of the ball, he released the legendary Pokémon and personification of death itself, Yveltal!
A large black and red bird-like Pokémon with two large claw-like wings and tail, two small but deadly talons, and two angular horns with under two piercing blue eyes. He screamed in a large and imposing voice. "WHO SUMMONS THE ANCIENT, THE ALL KNOWING, THE ALL POWERFUL…" "Uh do you have to do that every time I use you?" Yveltal stopped before turning to Nathan. "It's a habit, ok kid? Ugh, what do you want me for this time?" He groaned. "This nurse joy wants a photo with us together so you think you can work with that?" Nathan answered to a Yveltal with a look of outrage on his face. "A photo? You brought me out of my ball while I was having a dream about drinking the blood of my enemies for an arceus damn PHOTO!?" He boomed. "Relax, it's just a simple…" "I AM A LEGENDARY POKÉMON WITH THE POWER TO SIPHON THE LIFEFORCE FROM EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING AROUND ME, I COULD KILL YOU WITH THAT KIND OF POWER! AND YOU JUST WANT TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH ME BY THIS HUMAN!?" "I mean if you're not in the mood I could…" "THIS IS WHY I HATE HUMANS! YOU PEOPLE ARE JUST A BUNCH OF NEEDY SISSIES!" "You might wanna get inside, he's having another rant again…." Nathan said to the nurse joy ran inside.
"Alright Yveltal, what's the matter?" Nathan asked, catching the legendary's attention. "Are you deaf?! I told you that I don't want to be woken up for some stupid reason like this!" He answered angrily. "Really cuz your tail was twitching and it only twitches when you don't tell me everything, so what's the matter?" Yveltal looked at his tail, seeing it twitching slightly. "Ugh… fine…." The legendary then sat down next to his trainer. "It's just that it's been four whole years since you became champion, and in the span of those years we've done nothing but sit on our asses and serve drinks like plebeians!" "I guess I have been pretty stagnant as of late…." "And it's not just that, the championship matches you've held were boring as hell! I mean sweet arceus. In the millions of years that I've been on this mud ball, I've seen SLOWPOKES look more interesting than those fights!" "I don't think it was that bad, what about the battle against the youngster with that goodra?" "You beat him in a span of three minutes… it's like our lives have been devoid of any meaning since you took down…." "Team Flare…?" Nathan interrupted, seeing something that should not be here anymore. "Yeah Team Flare! It's like we need something to grease the wheels of our lives, a rivalry against someone—" "No! Team Flare!" The legendary turned see someone in a red dress suit. "Oh dear lord it's… a guy in a regular suit, how shocking!" He said sarcastically, "I'm telling you it's one of them!" Nathan retaliated, he fought enough of those grunts to know exactly what a Flare grunt looked like. "Kid, that guy does not look like a member of a terrorist organization that disbanded after their boss killed himself with a giant world ending weapon, which is what happened to Team Flare." "I'm telling you that's a Flare grunt, just without their bright red sunglasses and weird belt buckles!" "Don't forget their awful hairstyles that look like they were made by a five year old!" "Maybe we should follow him!" "Kid, it's not them!" Nathan then showed Yveltal a picture of a Team Flare grunt for comparison. "Oh s#!t! It is a gunt!" The two then looked at the grunt who turned forward, causing them to duck in cover.
After looking around the red suited man then left, the trainer and Pokemon then looked see the possible grunt who was walking away to the entrance to route 4. "We need to tell the professor about this, tell the cops, INFORM THE ARCEUS DAMN GOVER IF WE HAVE TO!" "And start a panic!?" Nathan replied, shocked. "We can't do that!" "Then what do you suggest we do then? Let them conduct their evil scheme without intervening?!" "I never said that, we just need to view his actions and see where he leads us to!" "So you're suggesting we stalk him?" "I wouldn't say it like that but yeah! But we're gonna need some extra eyes just in case. Night Tide, help me out!" Nathan then unleashed his water Pokemon. "Night Tide I need to help me with following that man!" Nathan then pointed to the possible grunt headed straight for the gate. "Greninja?" "I know it's wrong but that guy may be a Team Flare grunt, so please!" The Greninja sighed, he knew he couldn't deny his friend.
After returning Yveltal to his PokeBall Nathan and his Greninja began following the man, hiding in the tall grass, unfortunately that proved to be a double edged sword when they were ambushed by several hoards of pidgey.
After some battling and more following, their sneaking found them in the remains of geosenge town after it was wrecked by the ultimate weapon. "And where would you be off to next…?" "Nathan?" The trainer immediately flinched upon hearing the voice of a familiar friend. "Serena!" He said, startled while smiling nervously. "W-What are you doing here?" "I told you that we'd meet up here after you healed up your Pokemon, right?" Serena answered. Nathan immediately face palmed upon hearing that answer. "Crap, look Serena something just came up and –" "like how you're currently stalking that guy?" "Ok I know it looks bad but trust me." Nathan then pointed to the man headed beyond the town. "I'm pretty sure that guy is a Team Flare grunt!" "Nathan, are you feeling okay? You know that they disbanded years ago right?" "Yeah I know that but I'm sure that that guy is a member of Team Flare!" "Alright, say if I believe you, what makes you think they're doing here?" "Probably making a new base and what would be a great head start than where the ultimate weapon resided!"
"Well, let's find out! Might as well head to the place since it's right around the corner." Serena said before the two went to the base of the supposedly resurrected Team Flare.
Inside, they found the place to be under construction, with several walls being repaired thanks to Nathan's last visit down here. As they continued through they witnessed a sight they haven't seen in years: men and women dressed in red dress suits with pairs of red shades, flame esc hairstyles and a large logo of a fiery F on their belts. "So Team Flare is back! Or at least to an extent…." Serena whispered, "Must be some stragglers that were left behind, but what are they up to?" Nathan replied. "Let's check for anything to find out." The two then split up to find any clues to Team Flare's return.
Nathan began his search in some of the server rooms, only to find it being patrolled by a grunt. "Almost finished and saved and locked!" The grunt said accomplished. "Now for my lunch break!" The grunt then headed to the exit causing Nathan to hide behind one of the server machines. "C'mon leave…" he whispered before he accidentally dropped one of his PokeBalls. "Hey who's there?" The grunt asked before walking towards Nathan's hiding spot and poked from behind only to see nothing there. "Huh… must've been hearing things…." As the grunt was distracted Nathan quickly snuck from behind and pinched his neck but only getting his enemy's attention. "Are you trying to knock me out with a shoulder pinch?" The grunt asked confused. "Huh… worked in the movies." Nathan said before grabbing the grunts head and banging it until he was out cold. "That's what I was trying to do!"
With him currently in the clear, Nathan had searched for the unconscious body and pulled out a keycard. "Bingo!" Nathan then headed to the server and used to access anything important. "Let's see, old plans, blueprints that could be useful, ugh! Why is there Gardevoir NSFW here!? These people have serious issues… Here we are! The month's agenda!" Nathan then looked deeper into the file. "'Despite the ultimate weapon's destruction we were able to recover the pieces. Unfortunately we were unable to repair it but perhaps we could repurpose the machine to help bring forth Team Flare's victory and the beautification of the world. -Dr X'" He read. "Repurposing the ultimate weapon? Into what?" He then checked further into the files before hearing the door open and seeing a grunt on the other side. "Hey Frank, are you done in here yet or…" the grunt then noticed his friend on the ground and the intruder on the computer. "Uh… tech support…?" Nathan said nervously, only for the grunt to pull out a PokeBall. "Hey! Hey what you doing motherf*&!er!?"
Nathan then was thrown into a battle, the grunt sent out his first Pokemon, a large purple blob with a mustache and puckered lips, a swalot, while Nathan sent out his tyrantrum, Titanasaur. "Swalot use sludge bomb!" The swalot then generated a large blob of sludge and tossed it directly at the Pokemon; however the Rock/Dragon type was able to resist it very well. "Titanasaur, retaliate with Earthquake!" Titanasaur then slammed his foot down so hard it caused a mini earthquake, causing the poison type to take heavy damage and knock it out. "Now that's what I'm talking about!" Titanasaur then danced around while growling proudly. "Yeah good job big guy!" The fossil Pokemon then flexed its body. "Ok now you're just showing off… return!" Nathan then returned it back to his PokeBall as he knew that the last time Titanasaur showed off it lasted at least an hour. The grunt then sent out his next Pokemon, Houndoom, a demonic dog-like Pokemon with ribs, horns and an angular tail, Nathan then sent out his Greninja to help. "Houndoom, strike these intruders with Flamethrower!" Houndoom sprayed the Greninja with flames only for Night Tide to counter with surf, where if unleashed a devastating wave upon the opponent, instantly taking it down, leaving Nathan the winner. "Just as you grunts were in the past, super easy to beat! I'm surprised you even made it this long!" "Don't rub it in!" The grunt argued. "Just saying!" The trainer and his Pokemon high fived each other before knocking out the grunt and dashed away.
Once they were outside however the alarm blared across the entire building. "Oh that's not good…." Nathan said to himself before moving, looking for another place to hide, eventually landing on some kind of main operating room. "Well so much for being sneaky…." "You think?" Nathan then turned to see Serena hiding under one of the desks. "Serena, what are you doing here?" "Hiding out, did you find anything about their plans?" "Yeah apparently they're using parts of the ultimate weapon to make some kind of new machine!" "What's it supposed to do?" "I was going to find out before getting ambushed by a grunt… who may have also triggered the alarm…." "Nice…." Nathan then noticed something happening out the window. "Hey what's going on out there?" The two trainers and the Pokemon looked outside, seeing a conversation happening between Dr. Xeosecte, a red haired, overweight man in a red and white suit, red tinted goggles, and blue gloves. And someone in a black cloak with a cane in their hands.
"It appears that we are nearly complete with your machine boss!" Dr Xeosecte said proudly. "You'll be– huh?" The Dr then checked his tablet to see that the alarm had been activated. "Is there a problem…?" The cloaked man growled in a raspy voice. "N-No sir! It's just that we appear to have two intruders on the premises!" The Dr replied, terrified. "We will have them dealt with in no time!" "It better or it's your head!" The cloaked man demanded slamming their cane on the ground.
The scientist then rushed to the control room to find the intruders, only to bump into them. "So, we meet again Nathan…." He said sinisterly. "Can it with the corny villain speech Xeosecte, what are you doing back with Team Flare?" Nathan questioned, "Last time I saw you, you and looker were headed to the slammer!" "I was, but recent events have given me a second chance!" Dr Xeosecte answered. "Unfortunately you and your friend have been interfering with our plans so I'm afraid I have to exterminate you… or better yet…." With a new idea in mind, Xeosecte knocked out both Nathan and Serena with
A blast of gas from his crobat.
By the time they came to, both trainers were tied to chairs in different parts of a machine, with the cloaked man, Dr Xeosecte and several Team Flare grunts. "Oh great…." "Now that we have you right where we want you, I believe we can start the process." Dr Xeosecte announced. "What process? What are you going to do with us!?" Serena demanded. "Well let's just say that it'll hurt a lot! Begin the extraction!" The grunt then activated the machine as it lit up with the cloaked man sitting in a chair in the center of the room. But before anything could happen… the machine started to malfunction! "What in?!" Dr Xeosecte said flabbergasted. "What's happening?!" The grunt then checked the machine to find the problem. "Sir it appears that the machine's been waterlogged!" "What!? How many times do I have to tell you people to NOT BRING FOOD OR DRINKS IN HERE!?" "It wasn't us Dr!" "Then who!?" Suddenly Dr Xeosecte's answer came in the form of a blast of water hitting him in the back of his head. "The hell!?" "Greninja!" Night Tide revealed himself from the darkness, armed and ready with his shurikens. "Nice job buddy! Now get us out! Quick!" The Greninja immediately used it's shurikens to slash the ropes on the trainers. Nathan and Serena immediately readied their PokeBalls for a fight, unfortunately the malfunctions the machine suffered became worse as energy left from the ultimate weapon began to overload and blast open some kind of vortex.
Everything was being sucked through the force of the vortex. "You fools!" Do you have any idea what you've dooooahhh!" The cloaked man and Dr Xeosecte were both pulled through the vortex, while the two trainers were hanging on for dear life. "Hold… on!" Serena grunted as she held Nathan's hand on with a piece of metal on the other. "C'mon… I know you can do it!" Unfortunately the force was stronger as it pulled the trainers closer and closer, until it caused Serena's hand to slip and pull Nathan and his Pokemon near the vortex. "Nathan! Night Tide! Hang on! I'll help you out of there!" "We both know it's too late for me…." "Nathan…?" "Don't worry… I'll find a way to get back to you soon…." And with that Nathan and Night Tide let go, allowing themselves to be plundering into the vortex, which closed on impact… leaving Serena alone… shedding tears.
Meanwhile Nathan and his Greninja tumbled through the hole before seeing a bright light at the end…. "Yveltal help us out!" "What do need now kid– WHAT THE F!&K!?" "JUST USE PHANTOM FORCE TO GET UP OUT OF HERE!" "Alright, hang onto me!" Nathan then grabbed Yveltal by the fur collar as the legendary pokemon covered himself into a ball and became transparent before disappearing into the side of the vortex….
