Chapter 6

The nine suspects were all tired. The killer had to fight this, had to stay alert like everyone else. The more competitors she eliminated, the more suspicion would fall on each remaining suspect, including her. She had to stay alert for when someone tried to come for her, had to be ready. It occurred to the killer that Colleen had committed murders, similar to how the killer murdered Penny. She began to fear that Colleen might figure out who the killer was. Colleen was probably as tired as the rest of the suspects, maybe the killer could use that to her advantage. Perhaps the killer was being paranoid in thinking that Colleen was such a threat, but she couldn't afford to take that chance. Colleen had to be the next to die.

After the suspects got some degree of sleep the announcer once again woke them up. "Colleen is dead. She was not the killer." The remaining eight suspects went into Coleen's room and found her dead body. This time there was a bullet wound, but once again no blood. The censors once again removed it.

Lindsay: Guess the killer is an equal opportunity murderer. She seems to be going after both factions.
Danielle: Maybe she was on to something. She killed people the same way that the killer murdered Penny.
Clarke: Maybe, but I think Colleen just went to bed last night like the rest of us. If she'd had more time to think about it, maybe she would have figured out who the killer was. Sadly, she never got the chance.
Danielle: Unfortunate, for most of us. Maybe that's why the killer decided she had to die next.
Clarke: Probably.

The eight of them went to the kitchen for breakfast. They all ate in silence, everyone carefully watching her own food. Noone completely trusted anyone, not even their own faction, not even the friends they were making. Just as breakfast was ending the announcer came on, and told everyone about a new development.

Announcer: And now is the time for the part in the game we go "Revelations." Some of you might have thought that you wouldn't have to see your victims here in Hell. It's true that some of your victims made it into Heaven, but some are down here. Let's hear what some of them have to say about some of you.

The first video they saw on the screen was from Reese, one of Lindsay's competitors from "Gladiators."

Reese: There was an aspect of the game that most of us didn't know about. It allowed one of us to collaborate with the show, and manipulate others. She said that she wanted a fair duel with me, but she alerted another player, a real pervert. Because of her I was raped before I died. And the pacifist preacher who was forced to be a gladiator, he tried to help her, and she shot him for his efforts.

The next video was from deputy Fisher, one of the people Danielle murdered.

Fisher: I know why I'm in Hell. Danielle killed me because we murdered her sister, and I made certain we got away with it. I did it for money, so that I could buy a fancy car and other toys. But when she started her little revenge spree, the police department didn't know who the killer was, all I knew for certain was that I didn't do those murders. I thought it was her father, we killed his daughter of course he'd come for us. I arrested her father, and he was actually still in jail when Danielle committed suicide. She didn't care that her own father was in jail for her murders.

The third video was from Patricia. She was Sophie's accomplice, lover, and the woman she eventually killed in a duel.

Patricia: I saw some early episodes of this show. Sophie claims I manipulated her, that I told her my parents molested me. But no, I was honest about the fact that I just wanted them dead for the money. She killed them anyway. I guess it's hard to get around trust issues if you know for a fact that the other person is a murderer. So we agreed to a duel, but I couldn't bring myself to kill her, I guess she was better at manipulation than me. So I just stood there, while she shot me.

The last video was from Molly, Scarlett's daughter.

Molly: My mother brought me into this crime family from an early age, I would have done anything to please her, even bring my own daughter into this world. She also molested me from an early age, and I continued the legacy with my daughter. I allowed my own mother to molest my daughter. But when my daughter started to have doubts, she couldn't trust her. I stood by while she shot her own granddaughter. I knew from that moment that I belonged in Hell, but eventually, I got one bit of revenge for my daughter. At the big war crimes trial, I turned against her. I ended up getting 20 years in prison, and died years after being released. But I got to see my mother hang, and avenge my daughter's murder.

These four revelations shocked some of the remaining suspects.

Lindsay: I said that I was willing to do whatever to survive and get back to my child. I did set up Reese and that pervert, but I just thought that one would kill the other. I didn't know he would rape her first.
Sophie: There any such deal in this game?
Lindsay: Not that I'm aware of.
Sophie: Maybe. In any event there is only one admitted child molester still in the game.
Scarlett: I admit, I made mistakes.
Danielle: You said you never murdered children.
Scarlett: I didn't. My granddaughter was 18 when I murdered her.
Lindsay: That's much better. At least their faction has been upfront about what they've done.
Clarke: Maybe we should do another vote.
Sophie: I agree with Clarke on this.
Danielle: No. Has it occurred to any of you that only our faction has had these revelations. Could it be they want us to turn against each other.
Lindsay: Yeah. Maybe the network is trying to get one faction to turn on itself, and protect someone from the other faction.
Clarke: Or they want the two factions to outright kill each other.
Danielle: That would be good drama. Anyway our agreement is that we don't vote for anyone from our own faction.
Clarke: And we won't vote for anyone from our faction. Makes a unanimous vote impossible.
Sophie: Yeah, but I still have the right to take my chances.
Scarlett: You mean challenging me to a duel?
Sophie: No.

Sophie then took her gun and shot Scarlett in the head, killing her instantly.

Danielle; What have you done?
Sophie: I think I just won the game. If I'm right, she was the killer, we all get a pass out of Hell.
Danielle: And if you're wrong?
Sophie: I still killed that pervert, made certain she doesn't get a pass out of Hell. In less than 15 minutes we'll know, one way or another.

The next 15 minutes were very slow, and particularly painful for Sophie. Finally the announcer said "Scarlett is dead, she was not the killer. She was killed by Sophie, who was not the official killer. Sophie is therefore eliminated." Before she could beg for her life, or scream in terror, Sophie was swallowed up in the flames.
