Chapter 8
.
As Danielle ate her last meal in Hell Manor she realized there was a certain irony in this. She had loved reality television in life, been obsessed with "Murder in small town X." She even tried to live out her own version, and got sent to Hell for it. Now she was in Hell, and she had to play a reality competition to get out. It was a great example of "Be careful what you wish for." Then Danielle heard the gunshots, three of them. Could they have started the Russian Roulette without her? Why would they give her a better chance of winning? And the three gunshots happened right on top of each other, there would have been a delay if they constantly spun the chamber. Danielle cautiously went down and saw three dead bodies, Atlanta, Clarke, and Laura. Lindsay was standing over them with a gun.
.
Lindsay: I didn't kill these people.
Danielle: Yes you did.
Lindsay: I heard the gunshots and found them like this. You killed them and are trying to frame me. You faked this.
Danielle: No, you're faking this.
.
Danielle quickly grabbed a gun herself. She and Lindsay shot each other simultaneously and both fell down. There were now seemingly five dead bodies laying in this room, none moving. Then the announcer said "Atlanta is dead. She was not the killer." "Laura is dead. She was not the killer." At this announcement, Clarke got up. Her plan had worked, killing all twelve of her opponents, or at least manipulating them into killing each other. She had won and earned her way out of Hell.
.
Clarke: I won your game. Give me my pass out of Hell!
.
It was then that Clarke realized that the announcer hadn't yet proclaimed that Danielle and Lindsay were dead, she would have to finish them off herself. Clarke went for her gun, but to her shock Lindsay and Danielle were awake, and they had her gun.
.
Clarke: How'd you know I was the killer?
Lindsay: We didn't, but we trusted each other enough to know it had to be someone from your faction.
Danielle: We figured that whoever it was couldn't;t be trusted enough to play fair. So someone would shoot her own teammates when their guard was down.
Lindsay: So we put on our little display.
Clarke: I have to admit, I am impressed. I tried to be good once you know. For a while I tried to convince myself that there were no good people. Most of us did bad stuff to survive, but I guess genocide really does trump everything else. Do what you have to do.
.
Lindsay and Danielle shot Clarke and killed her. Finally the announcer said "Clarke is dead. She was the killer. Danielle and Lindsay have won."
.
The minion waited nervously outside Satan's room. Clarke I had been chosen because she was smart, tough, resourceful, and ruthless. Giving her a pass out of Hell, she couldn't possibly do enough good to avoid coming back here. But now Lindsay and Danielle, they not only got a pass out of Hell but they could conceivably do enough good to get into Heaven. The minion feared Satan would not be happy about this development. To his relief the devil came out in good spirits.
.
Satan: I loved it, I admit I was shocked that Clarke was the killer. Good job on that front.
Minion: Thank you sir. You're cool with Lindsay and Danielle being released?
Satan: Yeah. I remember Lindsay on that show "Gladiators." I always felt bad for her. That show, I thought "Great, 15 souls come to me in a few days, and the winner would probably come down here before too long." Then that preacher not only kept himself out of Hell by refusing to fight, convinced three others to repent. Plus that woman who sacrificed herself for her daughter. I guess I could have fought harder to get Julia, she committed suicide to get revenge on the woman who killed her husband. But I was feeling sentimental and I didn't want to separate her from her beloved Bobby.
Minion: Should I get started on season 2 of "Hell Manor?"
Satan: By all means. Actually I have some suggestions for the next season, and some ideas of who should be chosen for the next season or two.
Minion: I look forward to hearing your ideas.
