Hey, guys! Here is the third chapter of Super War Chronicles! Hoping to reconcile their fallout after the war with Tartaros, Natsu and Lucy go out on a date! Enjoy!
Chapter 3 - Confessing One's Love
Midtown, Manhattan, New York City
Lucy let out a breath after having a taste of dark roast coffee mixed with whipped cream and half and half, enjoying the taste.
"This is not bad." Lucy commented, feeling totally at ease with her new taste in coffee.
A disgusted sound came out of a certain someone's mouth that made Lucy twitch an eye, coming from Natsu, who had the same coffee as Lucy but didn't like it.
"I don't understand how anyone could drink this stuff?" Natsu questioned.
"Erza, Mira-san and I drink coffee all the time. Besides, I've always wondered what actual Earth coffee tasted like." Lucy explained.
"But you could've ordered something like a lemonade or milk instead of ordering the same thing I did." Lucy added, finding it ludicrous that Natsu would order something he would normally wouldn't like, if it's some way trying to be on the same page as her.
"Yeah. But I kinda thought it would be nice to try something since you had to pay." Natsu explained, trying to be innocent, which made Lucy giggle.
"Natsu, you don't have to do whatever I'm doing." Lucy explained.
"Just be your usual self - minus the crazy." Lucy said, wanting Natsu to be more his normal side than this new, weirder side; without being usually rash and foolhardy.
Natsu couldn't argue with that and let out a sigh.
"What did I really get myself into when I agreed to this?" Natsu thought, thinking about to just about a few hours ago in the morning.

FLASHBACK
?, Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, New York City
"Do you wanna go out, Natsu?" Lucy asked, shocking Natsu and everyone else awaked after last night's party.
While completely surprised by Lucy almost having the same idea he originally had planned, he couldn't waste this chance.
"S-Sure!" Natsu hollered, without hesitation. That shocked a recently woken up Gray and Gajeel, having eyes that almost popped out of their sockets at seeing this idiot agreeing to go out on what appears to be a date.
On the sidelines, Korra and Asami gave each other a fist bump knowing their help was paying off.
"I gotta get changed first and be back in an hour. You should do the same so you're not wearing that old outfit in public." Lucy explained, before heading off in their new base to get changed to more comfortable clothes.
Natsu couldn't help but think about want he now should wear if he's going on a casual outing with his partner, not knowing that Happy and Mirajane are creeping behind him with devilish smirks.
"You love her~!" Happy and Mirajane teased in unison, causing the fire dragon slayer to blush crimson red.
"S-Shut up!" Natsu exclaimed.
Mirajane then grabbed Natsu by his scarf and gave him a deadly glare that could rival Erza's own glare.
"If you hurt her again, Natsu - there will be hell to pay." Mirajane threatened, which made Natsu quickly shake his head in fear.
"Mira's scary!" Korra, Asami and Happy thought in unison, completely terrified of Mirajane having a threatening aura despite her sweet demeanor.

Back in the present, Natsu and Lucy left Starbucks to have a relaxing walk without any interruptions or misunderstandings.
Little did the two know, they were being tailed by 4 strange people (3 plus 1 small individual) in tan brown overcoats and hats, styled like detectives on a stakeout. In fact, they were actually Korra, Asami, Mirajane and Happy having to follow them in secrecy.
"You sure they didn't see us?" Korra whispered.
"Positive. My latest Lacrima conceals our presence so he can hear or smell us." Mirajane whispered.
"Yeah. Last thing I want is my bud sniffing us out." Happy whispered.
"I sure do hope things go well." Asami whispered, being worried about how their "date" could go.
"On the subject…" Asami whispered, seeing three other figures dressed in the same way, revealed to be none other than Naruto, Shoyo Hinata and Soma.
"Soma and I are experts when it comes to dating. Especially how a girl feels like my Hitoka." Shoyo Hinata whispered, bragging.
"Yeah. I can understand how Erina feels since she's always a stuck-up." Soma whispered, also bragging.
Korra and Asami weren't amused, while Happy and Mirajane snickered.
"And why are you here?" Korra whispered, asking the reason for Naruto's presence.
"Well, I got nothing else to do, so I thought I might tag along." Naruto whispered.
Korra face palmed.
"Uh, guys… They're leaving our sight!" Shoyo Hinata whispered, seeing Natsu and Lucy making their way north.
"C'mon! We can't lose them!" Mirajane whispered.

Central Park, Manhattan, New York City
Natsu and Lucy continued walking together as they left Midtown, reaching the Upper East Side for a long while before they reached Central Park, wanting to enjoy the lovely scenery.
Naruto, Korra, Shoyo Hinata, Soma, Happy, Asami and Mirajane continued to follow them in secrecy. Though, they aren't that stealthy, causing some people to look at them with awkward or dirty looks at them being very weird.
Natsu and Lucy soon sat together at a bench near the lake to enjoy the view, just a few centimeters apart (but not TOO far).
Naruto Korra, Shoyo Hinata, Soma, Happy, Asami and Mirajane quickly hid behind some bushes not too far to be within earshot, but enough to keep themselves from being caught.
"It feels really nice. Going out to help relax and not be so stressed." Lucy commented.
"Yeah. I really do miss that lately." Nastu said.
Lucy began to take a deep breath and decided to scoot to Natsu a little closer, which made Nastu blush a little.
"I want to know the actual truth, Nastu. And no lying." Lucy demanded.
"Why did you and Happy leave me? The real reason." Lucy added, determined to get the answer once and for all before something bad would happen.
Nastu was very nervous and a little scarred, knowing she won't stop until she gets what she wants.
Naruto and the others, especially Happy and Mirajane, were getting worried that if Natsu screws up, there will be consequences if he didn't play this right.
Natsu took a deep breath. "You really want to know the actual reason?"
Lucy nodded with stern eyes.
"It's because… I don't wanna lose you." Natsu confessed, shocking not only Lucy but the others behind the bush.
"When I lost my dad, Igneel, I was reminded of losing you; the future you." Natsu confessed.
Lucy began to realize the very true reason why Natsu left not just to avenge Igneel's death at the hands of the Black Dragon Acnologia, but to protect Lucy after failing to save the future version of herself from a fatal attack of the future Rogue Cheney. It seems that horrible memory haunted Natsu to this day and losing Igneel was a double blow to his heart.
"I failed them both. I wasn't strong enough and hated myself for that." Natsu explained.
"That's why I left you and the others to try and get stronger so I won't lose anyone I care about ever again." Natsu continued, gripping his fists in anger as visions of Igneel and Future Lucy's deaths clouding his mind again.
Lucy was devastated to hear not just the reason why he left, but how painful it had been for him to both lose the dragon who raised him like his own child, and a future version of herself that has been by Natsu's side for as long as she can remember.

In the nearby bushes, Naruto, Korra, Shoyo Hinata, Soma, Happy, Asami and Mirajane were saddened to see Natsu in such a sad state after hearing his reasons to Lucy.
Happy and Mirajane were more saddened, having known the pain of losing Future Lucy during the Dragons attack and remembering the tragedy they and the rest of Fairy Tail endured in the battle against both Tartaros and Acnologia.
To Naruto, he knows the pain of losing others like Jiraiya and Neji, and to this day hated himself for not being better to save them. Korra understands this pain too from losing her connections with all her past Avatar lives, while Shoyo Hinata, Soma and Asami deeply understand the pain of losing family, in this case both of Asami's parents (including her father Hiroshi who she managed to reconcile with before he laid down his life in the fight against Kuvira), Shoyo Hinata losing his father, and Soma losing his mother. All those wounds remain fresh and a reminder for each other them to get stronger so they would never lose anyone else they care about again.

A comforting hand came on Natsu's shoulder, making him see the blonde with some tears in her eyes.
"Natsu… why wouldn't you tell me about this from the start. I could've helped you." Lucy explained.
"It was my burden, Lucy. You should've known I don't wanna lose you." Natsu explained.
"Well, listen. I made a commitment after losing Aquarius that I wanna protect everyone I love and always be there for them, including you." Lucy explained.
"I know the feeling of losing a father. That's why I wanna be with you and nothing scares me more than not having you with me." Lucy continued.
"Not just as a guildmate. Or a partner. But as the man I really fell in love with." Lucy finished, taking a now blushing Natsu by completely surprise, along with the shocked looks of Naruto, Happy, Korra, Asami, Shoyo Hinata and Soma, and the overjoyed expression of Mirajane.
"Y-You love me?" Natsu asked.
Lucy furiously blushed and covered her face in shame.
"Dammit! What was I thinking?!" Lucy questioned herself, now ashamed of blurting her feelings out loud. She was like that for a while before suddenly the Celestial wizard felt a comforting hand on her head.
She removed the hands from her face to look up and see a smiling Natsu, using his separate left hand with his right hand moving to her right shoulder, left hand cupping her cheek before pulling her into him for a kiss, taking both Lucy and Naruto's group by complete shock.
Lightly blushing, Natsu deepened the kiss a little to showcase his love for the one important in all the time he spent in Fairy Tail, which Lucy had no problem returning the kiss with her own passion, lasting for about a minute or two before releasing for fresh air.
Natsu and Lucy, now forgiving and understanding each other much better, have shown their love.
Naruto, Shoyo Hinata and Soma gave each other a fist bump with smirks, Korra and Asami held hands with smiles, and Happy and Mirajane were about to faint from total excitement.
"You guys can come out now." Natsu said, shocking the 7 with their cover suddenly blown.
Lucy was totally shocked and blushing furiously. "W-Were you guys following us?!"
"Who cares! My NaLu ship is complete!" Mirajane boasted, raising her left fist in the air with dramatic explosions in the background.
"I'm just happy for you two! It warms my heart!" Happy cried, hugging Natsu by the arm, who made no attempt to shrug the Exceed off, but laugh in reply.
"Mr. Naruto? Mr. Natsu? Happy? Ms. Korra? Mr. Shoyo? Mr. Soma?" A familiar voice called out that made Naruto, Natsu, Happy, Korra, Shoyo Hinata and Soma smile with glee.
It was Taichi, the young boy who saved them 2 days ago was now walking the park with what appears to be his younger siblings and their pet Saint Bernard-Scotch Shepherd mix.
"Tai!" Naruto, Natsu, Happy, Korra, Shoyo Hinata and Soma hollered in unison, rushing over to greet their newest friend while meeting his siblings and pet.
Asami tried to comfort a bewildered Lucy, while Mirajane was thinking future plans for Natsu and Lucy like a wedding.

An hour later, after chatting with Tai before leaving him for his walk with his siblings and dog, the group made it back to their unnamed and unfinished base of operations where they were greeted by Hinata Hyuga, Erina and Yachi by the front gate. But the looks on their faces were a little creeped out.
"You guys okay?" Lucy asked, concerned.
"Well… Juvia-san…" Hinata Hyuga replied, trying to saying what she hopped to not say.
"Trying to annoy Gray again. That's nothing new." Natsu said, shrugging his left shoulder while having his right hand holding Lucy's left hand.
"Actually…" Erina said, with dread.
"It's not just him." Yachi confessed, wishing she wouldn't go into more details but couldn't refuse to lie.

At one of the tables was Juvia, and who she is hugging wasn't Gray, but also a mortified Megumi and a pissed off Kageyama. Gray and Takumi stood a few feet away with creeped out looks. Everyone else in the area were either creeped out, smiled with amusement, or simply laughed their asses off.
Even Naruto, Natsu, Happy, Shoyo Hinata and Soma were laughing on the floor while holding their stomachs. Lucy, Korra and Asami were bewildered themselves, while Mirajane finds the ordeal adorable.
"Aw~! You two are like the children Gray-sama and I dreamt of!" Juvia swooned.
"And when you add your darling, Takumi-kun, it's even more lovely!" Juvia continued, which made Takumi shiver when he was mentioned.
"One Inui-san was already creepy enough for me!" Megumi thought, having dealt with lots of Hinako's unwanted affections despite her good intentions, and now Juvia is showing the same level of affection that makes her very uncomfortable.
"When I get out of this… I'm gonna strangle you!" Kageyama growled.
Lucy was bewildered before starting to laugh herself.
"Hey, mom. I hope you're watching me and my friends." Lucy thought.
"I sure am lucky to not only be part of something this big of a family…" Lucy thought, thinking of everyone in the room before returning her attention to a laughing Natsu. His goofy laugh and smile that made her feel the most happy.
"But I finally reconciled with the man I feel in love with since joining Fairy Tail." Lucy thought.
In the end, today was a good day for Natsu and Lucy.

Natsu: Man, Juvia's obsession has gotten new tastes.
Lucy: Why would she go after Megumi and Kageyama?
Soma: Well, Megumi is well-liked by both genders. Which is kinda embarrassing.
Shoyo Hinata: And like Natsu-san said before, Kageyama is just an irritating spitting image of Gray-san.
Natsu: That's what I said!
Lucy: You guys shouldn't find this funny at all.
Lucy: Next time: Chapter 4 - Battle Trials: Part One
Natsu: Lets get a picture to make sure we can have Gray and Kageyama under our thumb!
Shoyo Hinata: Let's do it!
Soma: I wanna get a picture with Takumi in it!
Lucy (irritated): You guys are hopeless!
Did you enjoy it? This is a more NaLu centered chapter for our two wizards made up and sail their ship together. Now, what does the next chapter coming soon gonna be like?
NaLu has always been my favorite Fairy Tail ship since Day 1 and while the crossover is Fanon, I wanted to show my support and how their relationship will play out. I also added an old element from my original The Omega Saga story that while a disappointment, I added Juvia now fawning over Megumi and Kageyama, since they share the same blue color as Gray and Juvia.
Now that I'm back in business, I promise to do my best for my War Chronicles crossover series no matter what happens.
