Devildogg237: i understand that this story needs work. The author notes are just quick explanations. Also, i answer any reviews i get before i publish the chapter. It's easier for me, since i was likely to forget about it, otherwise.

Keep in mind that the story is still near the beginning, the "story flow" as you put it should pick up as the story goes on.

Keep in mind that, at this point, fenrir is YOUNGER than 11 years old. Therefore, he doesn't want much besides his mother(s), and that includes speaking at times. As long as he has them, he's happy. Also, i decided to base fenrir's speech patterns a bit on myself. I speak short, and to the point.

I can TRY to do things besides canon, but i'm not certain how it would go, since canon gives me ideas on how to do it.

Previously:

"Let's go into the store, hm,?" sally asked, while managing to get fenrir off of her, and put his hand in hers.

"Ok, mama sally," fenrir said, as he was calming down.

Now:

The day after the boots incident, we see maple, sally and fenrir grinding levels. (an: at this point, players like mai and yui are playing the game. I realize that i'm screwing with the timestream but, with what i have in mind, the younger players would not have been able to join the game by that point.)

A few days later

We see maple, sally and fenrir at the entrance to the unique dungeon to get to the next level. "Well, this is it," maple said. "Yeah, we need to beat the boss, to get to the next level," sally said. Fenrir didn't say anything, because he was too excited to speak, he was shaking with anticipation.

Maple, sally and fenrir enter.

Inside

The inside looked like a hallway that appeared to let nature take over. Maple, sally and fenrir were walking forward, when they heard noises in front of them. Sally saw the threat. "Incoming pig alert!" she warned.

"BACON!" fenrir exclaimed, before jumping over maple and tackled it. Maple and sally grew sweatdrops on the side of their heads. They looked at each other in disbelief. "Did our son declare 'bacon' before he tackled the boar?" sally asked her girlfriend.

Maple shrugged her shoulders, and simply said "he likes bacon" to sally.

Maple and sally turn to their son, who they see is LITERALLY tearing into the boar with fervor. Sally sweatdropped again. "You don't say," she said.

Before she could say any more, more boars charged at them. Since fenrir was still enjoying his bacon (boar) maple defended sally and herself. The boars simply kept charging, and got devoured by maple's shield.

There was a crash, some dust, and a bear appeared. Sally backs up a bit. "Maple, you're on defense. I'm gonna try something," she said, before maple nodded and got her shield in position. "Right," maple said. "Mirage," sally cast, without maple hearing it, causing sally to have a bit of a slightly rainbow-like aura. Maples' shield vanished. "Hey, what-?" she said, her expression full of worry. "Where's my shield?" she asked as she looked in various directions. "Did i lose it? I'm shieldless," she said.

"Dumb bear!" sally called out, insulting the bear. Judging by the look in its eyes, the bear REALLY did not like that, so it charged, intending to rip them apart. Maple freaked out, and instinctively put her clenched hands in front of her, causing the bear to impact SOMETHING, judging by the comical way it landed.

After the bear disappeared into pixels, maple decided to ask something. "What just happened?" she asked, as the shield reappeared. sally stepped up. "It's a skill called 'mirage'. I wanted to test it out before the next event," sally said. Then both maple and sally heard something else.

"Aww, i wasn't done with that, yet," fenrir complained. "*BURP*" fenrir burped. "Oh well, at least i got SOME bacon," he said. Maple and sally chuckled at that. "Let's go," sally said.

A few minutes later

The three of them enter the boss' room. It looked like the hallway that they took to get there, just with two differences. First, it was an actual room. Thus, far larger. Second, there was a good sized waterfall and pond against the wall across from the stone doors.

The stone doors shut, thus trapping them inside.

"It's starting," sally said. Maple, sally and fenrir got ready.

In front of them, branches and roots came to life, came together and formed a shape. There were some green effects, and the shape was solidified. The green lights and effects dispersed, revealing its shape.

It was a stag about half the height of godzilla. Its antlers had a sort of a stained-glass image in them.

Fenrir formed two short swords made of shadows. Maple and sally drew their short swords. Sally and fenrir charged at the stag. "Wind cutter" sally cast while fenrir threw one of his swords. The stag bowed its head a bit, and a shield appeared, blocking their attacks.

"Hydra," maple cast. The hydra made of poison magic attacked, but the shield blocked it. "Shadow arrows" fenrir cast. "Wind cutter" sally cast. The spells of both sally and fenrir both hit an apple on the shield. "Incoming apple alert" sally said. "The shield is damaged, mama sally," fenrir said. "Looks like it, fenrir," sally said. "MAPLE, TRY HITTING THE APPLES!" sally called out. "Right. Hydra!" maple used her 'hydra' skill. "Wind cutter" sally cast. The attacks of both maple and sally hit the apples on the shield, destroying it. "How do you like them apples?" sally punned.

The stag roared in fury and stamped on the ground, causing roots to come out of the ground to attack them. Sally and fenrir managed to dodge the attack because of their agility, but maple was sent flying. "A knockback?!" sally exclaimed. Sally and fenrir went to check on maple. They saw that maple was all dizzy. Sally looked at the status included on the health bar. "Is mama going to be ok, mama sally?" fenrir asked.

"She'll be fine, my brave wolf. She'll just be unconscious for a bit," she stood. "Looks like it's just us, for now," sally said. With that, both sally and fenrir charged at the stag, with fenrir forming shadow shortswords."wind needle/shadow spike" fenrir and sally cast, before they ended up behind the stag. Sally and fenrir jumped into the air. Sally managed to land on its back. "Fireball" sally cast, shooting a fireball at the back of the stag's head. Sally charged and attacked with wind cutters, and dodged the attacks the stag made with roots. Fenrir landed on the stag's head between the antlers. He then created two rather large shadow pikes and jammed them into the eyes of the stag.

The stag SHRIEKED in pain.

That's my boy, sally thought. She leaped into the air, grabbed a branch and flung herself back at the stag. "This fight is over!" she declared as she drew her short swords. "POWER ATTACK!" she hit the stag in its spine. The stag roared in pain as it dissolved in pixels.

Maple jerked awake. "Ah! I'm in the middle of a battle," she remembered before she quickly sat up, only to see sally and fenrir standing in front of pixels. "Huh?" she asked with a tilt of her head. Sally turned to face her. "Morning, sleeping beauty," sally joked.

"MAMA!" fenrir cried out as he flew to her and glomped her.

Maple simply pat his head. "I'm fine, my little wolf," she said soothingly.

The three of them were teleported to the next level.

The next day

"Come on mama, mama risa," fenriru said, while dragging his mothers. Kaede and risa were confused. "What's the rush, little wolf?" kaede asked. "There's an event about to start, and i don't wanna miss it!" fenriru exclaimed.

"Alright, little wolf, just stop dragging us," kaede said. Fenriru stopped dragging his mothers and simply held their hands as they walked over to the table holding their VR equipment.
