A/N: I thought about this after watching The Full Moon. Blitzø needed someone to talk to. The title is both to have the 'mag' in Maggie but the definition describes her pretty well. Honestly…if anyone has better title ideas, I'd love to hear them
Maggie is my OC. Everyone else belongs to Vivziepop
Maggie was playing on her phone while Moxxie and Millie tended to each others' wounds and cleaned up in the bathroom. She was pretty concerned that the cherubs were back. A million questions rang through her head. How did they get into Hell? What were those mech suits, and how did they get them? Why did the mech suits resemble the imps? There wasn't one depicting her, but she figured that was because she didn't fight in their last encounter.
She looked over towards the bathroom before looking down at her bandaged leg. Moxxie had tended to her sprained hoof before his own more serious injuries. He'd been protecting Maggie and making sure she didn't get hurt. She could tell he was injured too. Millie was stabbed, and Loona was shot. Maggie was the lucky one to have such a minor injury. Blitzø had avoided the fight altogether since his employees protected him. Maggie couldn't believe how oblivious he was. She couldn't be mad though since he had a lot on the mind.
She wondered how things went with Stolas. Loona had planted the seed that the prince was bored with Blitzø. That made him panic and go shopping for new…uh…toys. Maggie didn't really understand the appeal since she was ace, but she supported her boss. She followed her coworkers as they followed him, though she was confused about the things Blitzø bought. Moxxie had told her the bare minimum just to satisfy her curiosity. Even that was enough for her to shudder. She'd noticed the mech suited cherubs following Blitzø, and the imps and hellhound waited for the right moment to strike them down. Blitzø remained blissfully unaware of the fight or that he was in any danger. Maggie had watched him walk away, whispering the best of luck to her boss.
Imagine the imp's surprise when her phone vibrated and the caller was none other than her boss.
"Sir?" Maggie answered, "Are you okay? You never call me directly."
She could hear him breathing, but he was silent. Blitzø tried to say something, but he couldn't find words to say.
"Blitzø?" Maggie asked, "Are you there? You didn't butt dial me during your uh…special time with Stolas, did you?"
Maggie could hear Blitzø start to whimper a bit, "Maggie…can you come over please? I…I need someone to talk to…s-someone who's seen me at my worst…a-and still looks up to me. I can come pick you up if you don't wanna walk."
Maggie was caught a bit off guard, but she didn't hesitate, "Okay. I'll be ready in a few."
"Thanks, and…don't tell Mox and Mils. I even told Loony to go to a party or something…I don't want them to see me like this."
Maggie wrote a note, and she headed out. She limped a bit, but it wasn't anything serious. She stood outside, and the company van pulled up. She could see her boss' hands shaking a bit. The smaller imp climbed into the van, and Blitzø drove it away.
"I…probably won't be driving you home tonight. You can ask Loony if she'll take ya home later," Blitzø said, but he didn't even take his eyes off the road, "When we get to the apartment, I'm probably getting fucking wasted."
Maggie had realized that was his first swear since he called. That was unusual for Blitzø. The trip was silent, and Maggie reasoned he wanted to talk at the apartment. Maggie followed her boss into his apartment, and they sat on the couch.
"So…um…you wanted to talk?" Maggie asked after a long awkward silence between them, "Did everything go okay with Stolas?"
Blitzø shut his eyes tightly, fighting tears. Maggie grew even more concerned, and she reached for him. She was caught off guard when Blitzø suddenly wrapped his arms around her. He pulled her close, hugging her tightly.
"Mags, I fucked up! I fucked up so bad!" Blitzø sobbed.
"Sir…what happened? Did Stolas take the book?" Maggie asked, and she then noticed the Asmodeon crystal on Blitzø's glove, "Wait…is that…?"
"Stolas took the book back, and he gave us this instead," Blitzø replied calmer, but Maggie could tell he was hurting, "This way, we can access the living world legally, and I'm no longer…"
Blitzø began to tear up again, "I'm no longer bound to…"
He began to sob again, "I fucked up so bad, Maggie! I…I fucked up!"
"Sir, how did you fuck up?"
"I hurt him, Maggie! I hurt Stolas so bad. I…I thought he was just joking, but…he loves me. Like…actually loves me, but I realized too late and now…I fucked up the only real relationship I ever had!"
Maggie rubbed her boss' back gently, careful to avoid the spikes. She admitted that she really wanted them together. She'd been able to read both of them, maybe even better than they could read themselves. Twenty years of silence (except around Moxxie), she learned to read people, and she had this sixth sense.
"Tell me what happened," Maggie said gently, "everything."
Blitzø sniffled, "I…I got up there with all the toys, and I showed them off. He seemed…off though. He asked if I brought the book, and I begged him to let me keep the book. I couldn't let everyone down."
Maggie asked, "Are you sure it was the book you didn't wanna lose, sir?"
"What?"
Maggie smiled, "I've seen the way you look at Stolas and the way he looks at you. Maybe this 'arrangement' with the book was just an excuse to see each other. Earlier, you were so excited and happy. I hated to see Loona kill your mood."
"Was I…really that obvious?" Blitzø asked, "or was that your sixth sense seeing it?"
Maggie shrugged, "Does it matter? You were so excited to see Stolas, but you can be so dense sometimes. We decided to follow you; well, Loona did. Anyway, go on."
"Oh, right…" Blitzø continued, "Well, as I pleaded for another chance with the book, Stolas took this out."
Blitzø gestured to the yellow crystal embedded into his glove. Maggie had only read about Asmodeon crystals, but she'd never seen one up close. It was pretty, and a perfect fit on her boss' glove.
"He told me that…this was mine, and I was free of him."
"He wanted you to be able to continue the business without strings attached," Maggie thought out loud, "no longer having to be bound. What happened then?"
Blitzø started to tear up again, "That's where I fucked up. He told me he wanted me to stay if I wanted to. God dammit, I wanted to, but…I couldn't believe he'd genuinely want me. I thought it was a role play, and…I acted out."
Maggie blinked, and Blitzø continued, "I thought I was playing along, but he cut me off. He began to walk away, and I followed him. Too late did I realize he was being serious about these feelings. I lashed out, though…I yelled at him and…"
Maggie felt Blitzø pull her closer to him again before crying on shoulder, "I made him cry, Mags! He told me he thought so highly of me, but didn't realize I thought so low of him."
Maggie rested her cheek against Blitzø's horn as the larger imp sobbed, "I tried to say I was sorry, but I was too late. Maggie, I've never seen him cry like that. To know that was my fault…I can't even stand it. H-how could he even love me, Maggie? W-we're just little imps. At least you look adorable, but me. I'm such an ugly fuck up, that…I couldn't fathom Stolas actually having feelings for me. I…I destroy everything! I make everyone's. Lives. WORSE!"
Maggie smiled softly, and she pushed Blitzø away gently so they were looking each other in the eye. Tears formed in her eyes.
"That's not true, sir…" Maggie whispered softly, "That's so far from the truth."
"Yes, it is," Blitzø said looking down, "I fucked up everyone's lives and make them worse."
Maggie shook her head, "What about Moxxie and me?"
"Hm?"
"Blitzø, if it weren't for you, Moxxie and I would still be living in the Greed ring with our father…Shit, I might even be dead. You gave Moxxie and me a chance at a life away from the mafia, and we couldn't be happier. Moxxie met Millie, and I have…"
Maggie hesitated as more tears formed, "I have a real family who loves me and I love back."
Blitzø's eyes sparkled, and he could feel Maggie hug him again.
"You…love me?"
"Of course I do, and yeah, you fuck up sometimes. You drive us nuts with your dumbass decisions, and you can be kind of an asshole sometimes."
"People think I'm an asshole?"
"But guess what, you try to make amends. You try to fix your fuckups. You and Fizzarolli couldn't be closer now, right? This is no different. Yeah, you fucked up. You fucked up big time…but you're going to fix it somehow. You love Stolas, don't you?"
Blitzø thought about it. He didn't want to admit it to himself before because he was afraid it was one sided. He didn't want his heart broken again, but knowing Stolas actually loved him…he felt confident. He gave the smallest nod.
"Then go out there and win. Him. Back. I believe in you, Blitzø."
Blitzø blinked in disbelief. He gave the tiniest smile. He knew it would be a good idea to call Maggie. The formerly silent imp had come a long way since they first met. She hadn't said a word at first, but gradually she grew more comfortable. Now, here she was giving him the aggressive kindness he needed. He couldn't be more proud of her. He hugged her again.
"Thanks, Mags," he whispered.
"You're welcome, Blitzø," Maggie replied, "Now…let tomorrow be the start of making amends. Tonight…let it all out."
Blitzø stared at Maggie for a bit, and she nodded. He began to sob again until he fell asleep with his head on her lap.
Loona walked into the apartment to see Maggie and Blitzø asleep on the couch. Blitzø had his head resting on her lap, and she was resting on a pillow. Loona hadn't gone to a party, but she just went out for a walk. It had been a long day, and luckily her gunshot wound was healed. She smiled softly at the two imps sleeping. She then noticed that her dad's face was filled with tear stains. She frowned, but she'd ask in the morning. Loona threw a blanket over the two, and she went to her room.
