In Yang's Temple, Landrush got up as he glared at Yang. "How? How could I steal the Yin Blade and release those ghosts?" He questioned about his mistake.
"You were scared you were departing, and that your friends had forgotten you. Especially your closest friend, Gaia." Yang said with a smirk. "So I took advantage of your fragile mental state to trick you." He said as Landrush flinched. "Oh, oh, you weren't literally asking, were you?" He teased as Landrush glared at him as he struggled to break free. "Give up, Landrush. You're by yourself. There's no one to help you. Now, excuse me, I have a rift to open." He said as one of his students placed Landrush down before Yang turned to the other. "Watch him, just in case." He said as he and the rest of his students walked off.
"All by myself." Landrush muttered as he looked at the clock that was 13 minutes until midnight. "Mmm." He hummed as he had an idea as he gave a determined look.
At the Corridors of Elders, Pythor then charged at Lloyd. "Pythor, what are you doing?! Misako questioned.
"Giving the kid a one-way ticket to join his daddy!" Pythro called as Lloyd drew his sword and blocked his strike.
"Sorry, I don't feel like going on vacation." Lloyd said as he kicked Pythor back as he jumped to great distance while Misako watched. Pythor looked up and saw a statue over Lloyd.
"But it's a holiday. Respect your elders!" Pythor called as he threw his weapon at the head of the statue, which caused it to tilt and fall as it started falling on Lloyd.
"Lloyd!" Misako cried as she saw her son about to get crushed, but Lloyd got on his hind hooves and used his super strength to hold the head, but straining from the heavyweight.
At Canterlot, Twilight flew up when the Pony of Shadows shot a dark magic beam right at her while Flash clashed swords with Charm. "I get that you were a ghost, but how did you bring back the Pony of Shadows?!" Flash questioned as he pushed Charm back.
"I'm flattered that you may think I brought back the powerful darkness in Equestria, but I can't take credit." Charm said with a smirk.
"We had a little help." The PoS said as he then fired a beam at Twilight again, which she blocked with her magic shield.
"Help? By who?" Twilight asked before using her magic to knock the PoS back.
"Like we ever tell you." Charm said as she then kicked Flash back while Twilight was knocked back when the PoS beam hit the floor and sent them flying.
Spike and the rest of the family watch in great concern. "We just can't get a moment of peace, can we?" He questioned.
"Really? You're talking about this now?" Sky asked with a brow.
"Hey, it works under pressure." Spike said as he kept his family protected while watching Flash and Twilight fight their two enemies.
"Twilight, every time that I hit Charm, it's like I'm hitting plastic." Flash mentioned. "Maybe they aren't actually the real ones but the mannequins from the museum!"
Trail ducked under a rocket from Chen as he and Aqua watched him walk back. "Who designed this thing?" Chen questioned as he pressed more buttons.
"You should really get off the chair more." Samukai said as he drew his blades. "Now to fight." He said as he advanced towards them.
"Raider bikes!" Trail said to his sister as they rushed to the back and got on their bikes and revved them up as they drove past Samukai and the cultists and skeletons.
"Oh, come on! Seriously?!" Samukai questioned in annoyance as he got on one of his skeleton's cycles as they and the cultists charged at Trail and Aqua as they tried to bump each other, which Trail got hit. He was sent flying with a scream before he hit the ground with a grunt.
Chen gave a laugh at this as Trail looked up and saw his throne is now like a T-Rex. "Oh, good." He said as he moved his fist before pressing a button that turned them into spinning saws. "Better." He said before two cannons appeared from the sides. "Best!"
Trail got up as he saw Aqua coming as he jumped on her bike before Chen fired his cannonbolts at him.
At the Frosty forest, Frost, Dr. Gear, and Rust stepped back as the Nindroids closed in on them. "Escape is futile, brothers. You both and I share programming. I know your every move before you two can make it." Cryptor taunted.
"Even this one?" Frost questioned as he grabbed his family and did Airjtizu up a tree and pulled out his shurikens.
"If you know it, I know it." Cryptor said as he was on the branch as the Nindroids went into flight mode and floated up towards them as they tried to strike the two brothers, but Frost used his powers to knock one back as Rust struck it with his shuriken, causing it to fall to the ground as Frost blocked Cryptor's strike and jumped to another branch.
But more Nindroids came in as the two brothers clashed weapons and knocked them back. "Enjoy the Departed Realm! And I'll be sure to send dear old mom there next." Cryptor said as he swung his blade at them.
"Look out, boys!" Dr. Gears called as she moved away from the blade, but the two Nindroids were pushed back as they held onto the branch with more Nindroids coming from behind.
At Gaia's place, there were magic blasts that could be heard from the outside. Inside, Gaia was summoning some more giant plants to block Chrysalis magic while her parents took cover. "I don't understand! I sense you life in you, but you aren't in a physical body!" Gaia called as she avoided more laser shots. "How are you even here?! You're not even whole!"
"Fool! I am the Queen of Changelings! I can be full of surprise!" Chrysalis called as she fired another beam, which Gaia quickly blocked as she was pushed back a bit from the strong magic.
"Yep, definitely not the Chrysalis that redeemed herself." Gaia muttered as she jumped to avoid another blast while her parents watched in concern.
At the burnt down Monastery, Sensei Wu did not bother turning around to look at Morro as he kept a straight face. "Well, my former student." He said as he finally turned around to look at him. "How have you returned, Morro?"
Morro then drew his sword as Wu took out his staff and got in a ready stance. "The question is not how, but why?" He said to him as he swiped his sword.
At Yang's Temple, Landrush talked to one of Yang's students who was watching him. "So I didn't get your name." He said, but the student didn't say a word. "Okay, I'll just call you 'Chuck'. Look, Chuck, I know you think you're Yang's student, and maybe you were once, but now you're his prisoner." He said, trying to get through to him. "Don't you see? He's not your friend. He's your captor. You gotta shake off his spell. Then, we can stop him, together. You and me." He said with determination, but 'Chuck' didn't react an inch.
"Okay, no pressure, but you have three seconds to decide." Landrush said to him as the clock was close to midnight. "One… two… three." He said as the clock chimes midnight as Landrush then jumped up and did a flip and kicked 'Chuck' back before he walked up to the door with a smirk. "Guess I'm working solo, Chuck." He said as he looked around the hallway.
At the junkyard, Thunder was in a ready stance while glaring at Grimoire, who was holding his mother as Bolt stepped forward. "Don't worry, Script." He said as he was about to charge forward, but Thunder held him back. "I'll take care of those piles of scales." He said as the mech cultists walked forward.
"Oh, now, Bolt, be careful." Script said to her husband. "Nurse Red Heart says not to strain."
"I got this, Dad." Thunder said with a serious look as he charged up his powers as electricity came from his horn to his hooves. "Lightning!" He called as he shot a lightning blast at the two cultist mechs, sending them flying. "I have no idea what you want with my parents…" He started while doing air kicks.
"It's not your parents I want, Thunder." Grimoire said as he spun Script around in his magic before tossing her away. "It's you!" He declared as he used his dark magic to make a few junk piles come to life and form a monster. Thunder quickly took out his nunchucks as Bolt quickly caught his wife.
Thunder then quickly fought off the junk monsters as he then made his way to Grimoire as the two clashed weapons while Bolt and Script watched. "Feisty. He's his mother's son." Bolt said while giving Script a smile as a cultist slithered towards them while watching the fight with a few electric shocks while another came up from the otherside.
Grimoire saw this as he turned to the cultists. "Don't just stand there, fools! Grab them! Then he won't fight me!" He ordered as his cultists then grabbed Thunder's parents.
"No!" Thunder yelled as he rushed towards Grimoire, but he did a spin and knocked him down.
"Oh, yes!" Grimoire gloated as Thunder landed on another pile.
At the castles of the two sisters, Discord is holding Hope and Midnight as they watch the two sisters fighting King Sombra. "I don't know what happened to you, Sombra. But you will fail like the other times!" Celestia called as she fired a magic beam at King Sombra, but he deflected it.
"Oh, but this time will be different!" King Sombra declared as he stomped the ground to create a few Shadow soldiers.
"Okay, that's new." Discord muttered fearfully while clutching the childrens.
Luna then charged at King Sombra as she wrestled him. "I don't know how, but you're not my husband! You're just the bad parts of him! I can sense it!" She called as King Sombra chuckled.
"Always the clever one, but let's see how you handle the might of my full darkness!" King Sombra called as he then created a shockwave that blasted the three back while Discord protected the two children.
Back at the concert in Equestria City, the Royal Blacksmiths continued to sing while holding replicas of the Helmet of Shadows while Dareth, the Flim Flam brothers, Dr. Saunders, Tempera and Clockwise watched from the side lines as they tossed the helmets up and they landed on their heads as the crowds cheered them as Dareth rushed up on stage with Flim and Flam behind.
"Royal Blacksmiths, everpony!" Dareth called as the Blacksmiths took a bow . "Aren't they fantastic?" He asked as he smiled. "Hey, speaking of fantastic, it's my duty as manager to remind you that there's fantastic merch available in the gift shop!" He called.
While Dareth announced them, the pony stallion at the gift shop was sleeping before he woke up with a sheepish smile. "There's hats, CDs, mugs, a lot of great things!" Flim called out.
"Show you're a real fan!" Flam added with a smile.
"Now, before our boys continue, I just wanted to say thank you for coming and getting into the spirit of the night." Dareth spoke up to the crowds. "Look at those costumes. Funny clowns, aliens, and astronauts."
"Wow, even those stone warriors." Flim added as they saw Kozu, his lieutenant, and four of the stone soldiers walking up as Kozu spoke in his language.
"So realistic." Flam added.
"Revenge will be mine!" Kozu exclaimed with a glare.
"Well, normally our guys don't take requests, but it is a special occasion." Dareth said to them as he turned to the Royal Blacksmiths. "Boys?" He asked as they started singing 'Revenge will be mine' song.
Kozu gave a yell as he and his lieutenant jumped on stage with their warriors as Dareth and the Flim Flam brothers looked fearfully at them. "Uh, Dareth, that's no costume." Flim said fearfully.
"Those are really the Stone Warriors." Flam added fearfully.
"Then I supposed we run!" Dareth called as he tossed his microphone as he and the brothers ran away with the stone warriors chasing them. "Can we at least talk about it?!"
"Revenge!" The stone lieutenant yelled as they rushed up to the museum.
"Okay, we're talking!" Flam added.
"Destruction!" Kozu yelled next.
"Talking is good!" Flim added.
"Crazy!" Both Kozu and the lieutenant yelled as the Flim Flam brothers and Dareth screamed as they entered the museum.
With Gaia, she kept dodging more of Chrysalis' magic blasts while using some of the plants she's controlling with her powers to attack, but Chrysalis kept dodging each one as she returned fire. "Soon, I will finish you, and Starlight will be next on my list, and then, I will go to the Changeling Kingdom and show my good side her true self, me!" Chrysalis taunted.
"You're as crazy as you once were!" Gaia called with a glare before she used some vines to block another blast. "Can't you just let it go?!"
"And then, Equestria will be covered in darkness once again!" Chrysalis declared as she blasted the ground to create a smokescreen, which blocked Gaia's vision. She kept her guard up and looked around for any signs of Chrysalis before she saw her mother approaching her.
"Gaia, dear, you must call Starlight Glimmer!" Rose cried out in concern.
"Why, mother?" Gaia asked in confusion.
"She's dealt with this beast before. She can do it again! Please, you must contact her!" Rose called pleadfully.
"O-Okay, I will." Gaia said as she brought out Spike's flames in a bottle and quickly wrote a letter before putting it in the bottle as it was sent to Starlight. "Okay, if I know Starlight, she could be here any moment."
Rose gave a smirk. "Good. I'm looking forward to ending her." She said with her voice sounding like Chrysalis, which made Gaia's eyes widened.
"That's not your mother!" Tracker called out as Gaia turned and saw him and his wife behind some shelves before Gaia turned as Rose transformed back into Chrysalis.
"Works every time." Chrysalis said with a smirk.
"You tricked me!" Gaia yelled as Chrysalis chuckled and fired another beam at her, which she dodged.
Rainbow was flying through the skies as she was dodging a few blasts from Tirek. "You know, bigger doesn't always mean faster!" She taunted him with a smirk.
"It's not the sizes that matter." Tirek started before Rainbow was about to charge towards him, but Tirek clapped his hands together, creating a shockwave that sent her back a bit. "It's the skills!"
"Okay, I'll admit, that was good. But can you still try this?!" Rainbow called as she sped around Tirek and shot her magic blasts at him in some parts of his body, causing him to yelp in pain as he tried to swat her like a fly, but was having trouble too. But then suddenly, she blasted his right arm off as it suddenly became plastic when it was off. "What the what?!"
"Argh! That was my good arm!" Tirek roared.
"Wait, you're not even real. You're just a replica!" Rainbow said in realization. "What gives?!"
"Long story, but even with one arm, I'm the strongest one!" Tirek roared as he send another blast at Rainbow, who dodged it.
At Rarity's place, she was outside with her family inside her home while she used a diamond shield to deflect Nightmare Moon's magic blast. "Darling, you should really stop while you're ahead!" Rarity cried as she blocked another strike.
"I will not! I won't stop until the night last forever!" Nightmare Moon exclaimed as she fired another blast.
"Oh, nopony appreciates manners these days." Rarity muttered before she then tossed her shield at Nightmare Moon, which broke off her horn when it hit her. "My word! What is…?!"
"My horn!" Nightmare Moon yelled as she growled in rage. "You'll pay for that!" She shouted as she charged at the shocked Princess of Generosity.
With Applejack, she is bucking some of the Storm King's goons with her family helping while Sugar Belle hid for safety while the Apple Siblings fought off the Storm King. "Ugh, can't you ponies ever give up?!" Storm King questioned in annoyance.
"Nnope." Big Mac said with a glare before he bucked another storm minion.
Applebloom then felt something off about them. "Sis! They're not even real! They're made of plastic!" She called out.
"Then I could go all out." Applejack said with a smirk before she fired her horn at one of the minions and took them down as she turned to the Storm King. "This one is mine."
"I like to see you try." Storm King said as he ready his staff and the two charged at each other with yells.
With Fluttershy, she was facing (evil)Discord alone as she managed to make it from outside. "I don't know who you are, but you're not my friend Discord." She said while trying to keep a brave face while slightly nervous.
"Aw, that is so adorable you trying to act so brave." (evil)Discord taunted before he snapped his fingers to make a few familiar balloons appear around Fluttershy. "Do you remember this little trick?"
"Yes. And this time, I'm not falling for it. And I have a few tricks of my own." Fluttershy said with a smirk as she then transformed herself into a grizzly bear and gave a roar to (evil)Discord's balloons, which scared them to deflate themselves.
(evil)Discord looked around in surprise. "Okay, I'll admit, that was impressive, but I won't stand for it!" He yelled as he gave a roar and charged at Bear Fluttershy, who charged at him with a roar as the two clashed.
In Yang's Temple, Landrush is searched around for Yang while still having the cuffs on him before he opened the door to the dojo. "Haha! Yes!" He cheered before he saw two of Yang's students. "No." He groaned. "Hey. So any chance you wanna tell me where Yang is opening the rift?" He asked as the two students grabbed some weapons. "So… that's a no?" He asked as he backed away. "Whoa, let's not be hasty. This isn't a fair fight. I'm hoofcuffed." He pointed out.
Both students charged at him as he did his best to dodge their weapons, but the one with the sword cut his cuffs, freeing him. "Oh. So you might want a few more guys." Landrush said with a smirk as he then grabbed the sword and slice the bow staff in half as he charged at the two students.
Outside the dojo, fighting can be heard and grunts before Landrush exited the dojo with the sword and stuff. "Okay, sports fans, the score is Landrush: 3, evil possessed students: O." He said before he stopped at the stairs to see Yang.
"Hurry up! I haven't got 3,000 years!" Yang called as Landrush then went to the dumwaiter and went up to the top floor before he rushed up and saw Yang and his students a the ladder to the attic.
"Okay, Landrush, it's show time." Landrush said to himself in a ready stance.
"Deal with him." Yang ordered as his students charged at Landrush, but Landrush clashed them down and landed on his hooves before tossing the staff and picking up a nunchuck.
"Maybe I can do this myself. Whew!" Landrush said as he went to the ladder and climbed up. "I'm coming for you, Yang!" He called as he entered the attic where Yang is in. "It's over. You don't have any more students. You're all alone."
"Oh, I am not alone. Not at all." Yang said as more students came out in the shadows and surrounded Landrush.
"What's the matter, Yang? Too afraid to take me on by yourself?" Landrush mocked.
"Too busy." Yang said. "The eclipse is beginning to fade, Landrush." Yang said to him. "Just like you. Take him." He said as the students charged at Landrush, who clashed weapons with him while Yang went out to the window.
At the Monastery, Morro swiped his sword as Wu spun his staff. "We have fought twice before. Although it pains me, I will do so again if I must." Wu said with a serious look.
Morro spun his sword before holding it upside down. "No, you misunderstand. I'm not here to fight you. I'm here to warn you." He said and offered his sword to Wu, which surprised him. "Master Yang has put your students in terrible danger."
"What has Yang done?" Wu asked in worry.
"He's made you forget one of your own. One who is already slipping away." Morro explained.
"Tell me more." Wu said as they then walked down the stairs to the Bounty.
"I will, but aboard the Bounty. We have to warn the Celestia and the others." Morro said as the two walked down to the Bounty.
Back in Canterlot, Flash and Twilight held their own against the Pony of Shadows and Charm the best they could. "Aw, is some pony a little ticked off that we turned her into a frog with a wish?" Flash teased with a smirk under his mask.
"You turned me into a frog for two months for my brother to find the right cure to reverse it!" Charm yelled as she clashed harder against Flash. "Do you have any idea what it was like to be a frog to avoid water and eat flies when they flew by?!"
"No, but I am curious, what did flies taste like?" He questioned as Charm growled at him. She then fired a powerful blast right at him, but he quickly jumped out of the way and hit the Pony of Shadows before he could deliver another blast at Twilight.
"Ugh! You insolent fools!" Pony of Shadow called before the smoked cleared and they saw one of it's ears was shot off.
"Hey, watch your eyes." Twilight warned before she created a flash of multiple sparkling lights right at them, which blinded them.
"Ninja, go!" Both of them shouted as they did Spinjitzu and sucked both of them up before they could recover.
The two villains yelped as they were tossed around before crashing into the wall, which the Pony of Shadow's body shattered and broke into many pieces as his spirit was released and floated off. "No!" Charm yelled while she was on the floor with an angry look.
"One down…" She heard Flash say before she looked up and had a scared look when she saw both him and Twilight holding a large vase over her head.
"One to go." Twilight finished before they smashed the vase over Charm's head and released her spirit when she was defeated. "Now to find some answers to what's going on here."
"Maybe we should find the others." Spike suggested as he and the families came in once the coast was clear. "Wish, can you look after things until we get back with answers?"
"Sure thing." Wish said with a smile while keeping the children close.
"We said we would meet back at Equestria City by the museum for the concert at midnight, I guess we're going back there early." Flash mentioned as he picked up the mannequin head of Charm and found it was lifeless.
"Uh, it's already past midnight, Flash." Twilight reminded her husband while looking at the time.
"Well, late I guess. Let's go." Flash said as the three rushed out of the castle.
With Trail and Aqua, Trail was on his sister's bike with his sword out while the cultists and skeletons chased after them while Chen kept firing his cannon as he fired more missiles at them, which they avoided. "Can't you aim right, Chen?!" Samukia shouted in frustration. "You're missing them!"
"Can you blame me for having fun?!" Chen questioned rhetorically.
"How about we show them what teamwork is all about?" Trail asked with a smirk towards Aqua.
"Get ready to jump!" Aqua applied as she was driving straight towards a tree. "And… Jump!" She called as she and Trail jumped from the tree branch, which caught a skeleton from the head as they cringed as it fell to the ground and its spirit flew off.
Aqua then drove her bike as she stopped. "This is my stop." Trail said with a smirk. "Ninja, go!" He called as he did Spinjtizu and straight towards the cultist, destroying his bike as Trail stopped and saw it spirit flew off as Samukai and Chen growled at them.
Back at the Corridors of Elders, Pythor advances towards Misako while Lloyd is still holding the head. "Can't… hold… on." Lloyd strained.
"Yes, you can!" Misako encouraged her son.
"Fool! You continually underestimate me!" Pythor called out. "You're so like your father."
"He's right, Lloyd!" Misako called out. "You're brave and noble and-"
"And a Master of Spinjitzu!" Lloyd finished with a determined look as he looked up to his father's statue. "You are still with me, Dad! NINJA, GO!" He called as he did Spinjitzu to get out of the head as Pythor roared at him as Misako pushed past him and to her son as he stopped and held him as they saw a large boulder falling on top of Pythor. Once he was crushed, there was a puff of green smoke coming from underneath it as Pythor was defeated. "What?!"
"He was never truly there." Misako said in shock.
Back at the Castle of the Two Sisters, Discord, Midnight and Hope are still watching Celestia and Luna fighting King Sombra as they are managing to push him back as he staggers back. "You two shouldn't be this powerful the last time we met!" King Sombra yelled. "Not possible!"
"I believe you missed a piece in this little game of ours." Discord mentioned with a smirk dbefore snapping his fingers. He then made multiple copies of both Celestia and Luna appear around him.
"Oh dear." King Sombra said as the former princesses and their clones lit their horns and blasted King Sombra to pieces, which released his spirit as he flew away as Discord snapped his fingers and the clones disappeared.
"Well, that was interesting." Discord said while Hope and Midnight giggled.
"You could've helped us sooner you know." Luna said while giving a brow to Discord before she held Midnight.
"What, I enjoyed the show." Discord said with a chuckle before Hope started giggling. "And so does Hope." He said before Celestia gave a thoughtful look at where Sombra once stood. "Something wrong, Celestia?"
"That wasn't the real Sombra. It was his darkness." Celestia said with a serious tone. "Somepony brought back the evil side, but who?" She questioned as the three were thinking the same question.
Back in Yang's Temple, Yang was on the roof as he saw the eclipse. "Good to see you, rare eclipse." Yang said to himself. "Now help me to finally open up the rift." He said as he drew his Yin Blade.
Inside the attic, Landrush was getting tired from fighting all of Yang's students. "Alright, guys, time to take a break." He said as the students advanced towards him. "Or not." He said as he fought and clashed weapons with the students as he knocked them back with ease.
"Open the rift, set me free." Yang said as he spun his weapon as it stood stiff and started spinning with magic specks around.
"Okay, okay, how about that break?" Landrush asked as he tossed the sword away and held up a bow staff as he continued to knock away more of Yang's Students. When they circled him, Landrush got on the staff and spun on it as he kicked them down. "You guys are more tiresome than Thunder." He said to them as he flipped and jumped from the wall as he rolled on the ground.
On the roof, Yang then cut a glowing blue rift in the sky next to the eclipse. "Yes! It's working!" Yang called with glee.
At Gaia's home, she was knocked back before Chrysalis stepped on her. "Gaia!" Tracker yelled while he and Rose were stuck in green web Chrysalis trapped them in.
"Aw, it's going to be so good to have your parents watch as you become nothing more than a memory when I'm done." Chrysalis said before she noticed Gaia was smiling. ""What are you so happy about?"
"Nothing, just the mistake you made when you tricked me into sending a letter to Starlight before." She mentioned before a sudden magic blast knocked Chrysalis back.
"That you were so busy fighting Gaia that it gave me enough time to come here." Starlight said with a smirk from the doorway as she blew on her horn. "Been waiting a long time to do that." She said as she helped Gaia up. "So, is this really the Chrysalis we know or a replica, because she was at her kind's celebrating in the Changeling Kingdom."
"I can only sense part of her soul, so not really her, darling." Gaia said with a shrug as Chrysalis groaned as she was about to get up. "Want me to hold her down so you can finish the job?" She asked with a smirk.
"Thought you never ask." Starlight said with a smirk as Gaia used her powers and used the vines to trap Chrysalis.
"Release me at once you-" Chrysalis was cut off when Starlight fired up her horn. "Oh dear."
"Happy Day of the Departed, Chrysalis!" Starlight called as she fired a powerful beam at Chrysalis, destroying her body as her spirit flew off. "Huh, we've dealt with ghosts, but ghosts of the past, that's a new one."
"You have no idea, darling." Gaia said with a sigh. "Help me get my parents free." She said as Starlight nodded as they rushed up to Rose and Tracker and started pulling the slime web off them.
Back at the junkyard, Thunder was having a hard time fighting Grimoire as his flunkies held his parents hostage. Soon he knocked thundered down as he held his Departed Blade up for the finishing blow. "For what it's worth, this isn't personal." He told Thunder with a grin.
"Kinda feel like it is, Grimoire." Thunder said nervously.
"It's only so I can return." Grimoire said with a smirk as he raised his blade. "I promise that as soon as this is over, I'll release your parents. Maybe…"
"I'm already on that one!" A familiar voice called out before they saw Ronin running in, in a large mech. After he jumped over the wall, he quickly grabbed Thunder's parents just as Thunder quickly rolled out of the way when Grimoire brought down his blade before he was kicked by Ronin's mech leg as he opened his hatch.
"Oh, Ronin! Thanks for coming!" Thunder said in huge relief.
"Yeah, I came to help." Ronin said with a sheepish smile. "I definitely didn't think your folks would be at the concert so I could, um, borrow some free scrap metal for my mech." He lied.
"What?" Thunder asked with a brow.
"Uh, nothing." Ronin quickly said as he closed the hatch. "You're all clear, kid. Finish them." He said as he flew his mech off with Thunder's parents as the Cultists and Grimoire backed away a bit as Thunder ready his powers.
Meanwhile, Rarity seems to be in a jam as she was creating multiple crystals out of the ground to defend herself when Nightmare Moon tried to blast her. "Surrender now, and I promise that your end will be swift!" Nightmare Moon told Rarity.
"Oh sure, that's reassuring." Rarity said while avoiding more blasts before she looked at her crystals before she gave a smirk. "Mmm, let's see how you like a maze!" She called as she summoned her powers and slammed her hoof down as she and Nightmare Moon are inside a crystal maze.
Nightmare Moon growled as she looked around. "Where are you?! Show yourself, coward!" She yelled with a look.
"I'm over here, darling." Rarity spoke up as Nightmare Moon turned and saw her behind her waving to her tauntingly.
Nightmare Moon gave a smirk. "Thank you for making this easier." She said as she then charged up her magic with a more powerful blast. "Time to end this!" She called as she then fired at Rarity, but then suddenly, once it hit her, it reflected off her, revealing to be diamond reflection.
"Miss." Rarity said as the blast then hit around the crystal maze as Rarity hid behind a corner while Nightmare Moon watched her magic blast zipped across the room before heading straight towards her.
"Oh dear." Nightmare Moon said before her blast hit her, causing her to yell and explode as her spirit flew off once her body was destroyed as Rarity dropped the crystal maze.
"Never underestimate the power of crystals." Rarity said with a smirk.
"Rarity!" Sweetie Belle called as she rushed up to her sister and hugged her in relief. "You were amazing!" She called as the rest of their parents rushed up to her and hugged her.
"Aw, thanks, dearies." Rarity said with a smile as she returned the hug. "Just doing my job."
Applejack seemed to hold her own as she dodged each attack from her foe. "You think you can beat me!? I am the Storm King! I conquer lands! Destroy their homes! I. am. A KING!" Storm King yelled as he clashed with his staff as Applejack kept dodging them.
"And your partner still has that monkey brain!" Applejack called as she grabbed his staff and tossed it away, which startled the Storm King. "And here's a word of advice, never mess with my friends and FAMILY!" She yelled as she sent power to her hind hooves and bucked the Storm King so hard, he was sent flying and crashed into a tree as his body broke apart and his spirit flew off. "Ah, now that feels mighty good."
"Uh, why did he turn into a mannequin when he crashed into the tree?" Apple Bloom asked with confusion.
"I don't think that was really him, sis." Applejack said to her. "It was a replica. So getting tired of those."
"Eeyup." Big Mac said as Sugar Belle nodded in agreement.
Rainbow was laughing with entertainment as she was having fun with Tirek. After blasting him from a different angle, she quickly used her powers to blend into her environment to hide from him. "Where are you?! This isn't funny!" Tirex yelled. "I know you're out there! So show yourself!"
"Only if you can figure out which one I am!" Rainbow called out before he saw many copies of her suddenly surrounding him.
"W-What?! How are you doing this?!" Tirex questioned.
"I'm the fastest pony alicorn in Equestria! I can be everywhere at once!" All the Rainbow Dashes called before they light up their horns. "And we can all do this at the same time!" She called as they fired their beams at them.
"Oh, poo." Tirek muttered before he exploded and his spirit was released as the clones vanished as they turned out to be clouds she shaped to make look like her.
"Huh, that had nothing on the real Tirek." Rainbow commented before she heard cheering before she smirked and looked down as her parents cheered her on.
"Go, Rainbow Dash!" Windy cheered.
"That's our alicorn girl!" Bow exclaimed in pure joy as Rainbow chuckled.
"Thanks, Mom and Dad!" Rainbow called with a smile.
With Frost and Rust, they are dangling by the branches while Dr. Gear watches helplessly on the ground as Frost quickly cuts one of the branches with his shurikens and grabs his brother as the two land on another branch while the Nindroids still use their flight modes to keep them in the air.
"Frost, they have flight capability." Pixal informed.
"It appears you have miscalculated, brother." Rust said to Frost.
"No, I didn't." Frost said as he threw shurikens on the Nindroids jet packs, causing them to yell and crash into the ground as their bodies were destroyed and their spirits floated away.
"Great job, son!" Dr. Gear cheered with a smile.
Meanwhile at the Museum in Equestria City, Dearth had separated from Flim and Flam as he was searching for a familiar item. "Helmets of Darkness, where are you?!" He called out as he was searching frantically through the crates. "You can control the Stone Warriors, so I can control the Stone Warriors! He called as he kept searching before the wall behind him shattered as Kozu and his warriors charged in as Dareth ran off screaming.
With Flim and Flam, they are running off with the stone lieutenant chasing them. "Why are you chasing us?! Don't you have a beef with the Ninja and their friends?!" Flim questioned the stone lieutenant while ducking to avoid a swipe.
"You must be slayed so that I may return!" The lieutenant declared before a birthday present suddenly dropped down in front of her with the note that said 'surprise'. "What's this? What is a surprise?" She questioned before Pinkie Pie suddenly jumped out of the birthday present.
"Surprise mother bucker!" Pinkie called as she then used her magic and sent a powerful blast at the lieutenant, causing her to go flying before she crashed into the walls as her spirit disappeared. "And that's the surprise."
"Pinkie Pie?" Flam asked in surprise.
"How in Equestria are you here and how did you know we were in trouble?" Flim asked in shock.
"Pinkie sense, also I'm glad to be back in the story after the writers forgot to put me in the first chapter." She mentioned while looking at the ones making this chapter. "But, they're forgiving since there's hardly a bad guy to fight and I had a great time with my family."
"Uh, what is she talking about?" Flim asked his brother in confusion.
"I have no idea." Flam said with a shrug.
Back at Yang's temple, he was still opening the rift while waving his blade around as the rift grew bigger. "Ah, here it comes." He said with a smirk.
Inside the attic, Landrush was panting heavily as he was tired from fighting Yang's students. "Ugh, they just keep coming." He said tiredly. "I can't do this much longer." He said as he did a split kick before seeing more coming. "One last time. Ninja, go!" He called as he did Spinjitzu and knocked them down.
Back with Aqua and Trail, they are facing Chen and Samukai. "Fire another missile at them!" Samukai yelled out.
"Yes, I will!" Chen called as he fired another missile, but Aqua used her water power to redirect back at them. "Unfair!" He cried.
"Oh, this is gonna hurt." Samukai said before the missile hit them and their bodies got destroyed and their spirits flew off as the two siblings high-hoof each other.
At the junkyard, Grimoire and his cultist tried to run off, but Ronin's mech landed on the trailer and put Thunder's parents down as he flew at them as Grimoire ran as her minions continued further as Ronin blocked his path.
Thunder then used his powers to cut the chains on a magnet as it slammed down on the cultists. "Old foe, new trick. Watch me, Grimoire!" He called as he tossed his nunchucks up, charged up with electricity before directing it at Grimoire and firing lightning at him as his body broke into pieces.
Back with Frost and Rust, they are wrestling Cryptor as they exchanged blows. "I know your every move. I know how you hit, I know how you will kick, and I know you never give up." Cryptor said as he gave them a taunting look as Frost smiled.
"Then I give up." He said as he pushed Cryptor back.
"Brother?" Rust asked as Cryptor tried to hit them, but they backed up as he tripped and hit himself with his own weapon as he fell down and his spirit flew off.
"Great job, sons!" Dr. Gear cheered loudly as her sons jumped down and she gave them a hug. "I am so proud of you two! Working like brothers!" She cheered as Frost and Rust smiled at their mother.
Back at Thunder's junkyard, he and his parent's aare enjoying some crumb cakes. "Great crumb cake, Mom." Thunder complimented as Script smiled as they turned and saw Ronin with a big sack his mech was carrying.
"Happy Day of the Departed, guys." Ronin said with a smile. "Oh, and thank you for the bag of scrap."
"All you have to do was ask." Bolt said with a smile.
"Hey, Thunder, tell Rivet I said hi." Ronin said to him.
"Sure thing." Thunder said with a nod.
Back at the Museum, Dareth continued to run away from Kozu and the stone army as he looked around for the helmet before he spotted it. "Helmet of Shadows. I found it!" Dareth called as he quickly picked up the helmet and put it on as its power was still connected to the stone warriors as the soldiers stopped while Kozu looked confused by this, since he's immune to the helmet. "Security, eighty-six this guy." He commanded as the stone Warriors picked up Kozu and carried him away as they slammed each other on the wall many times before they broke apart.
"Nice job, Dareth!" Pinkie called out when she entered the room with Tempura and Clockwise behind her.
"What in the name of Celestia is happening?!" Tempura questioned with confusion.
"Why are the exhibits coming to life?" Clockwise asked next.
"And why is my museum a mess?!" Dr. Saunder cried out.
Dareth and Pinkie gave a laugh. "Sorry about that." Pinkie said sheepishly.
Back in Yang's temple, Landrush is still doing Spinjitzu before he stopped and knocked some more students down as he panted in exhaustion before seeing the last one at the window. "Don't make me hurt you too." He warns tiredly as the student realizes that even in his tired state, he's no match as he dropped his sword and ran off as Landrush tossed his staff away and picked up the sword as he made his way to the window.
Once he climbed out, he could see the rift becoming bigger by the second as Yang continued to wave the Yin Blade around. "Stop it, Yang!" He called out before Yang Airjitzu over to the rift.
"Freedom! Return! It's all mine!" Yang cheered as he flew his way to the rift.
"No!" Landrush yelled as he put his weapons away as he tiredly tried to do Airjitzu. "You… are not… going… anywhere!" He yelled as he successfully did Airjitzu and flew towards Yang and grabbed him by the hooves.
The two struggled before they got out of their Airjitzu and started hitting each other while falling from the sky and back onto the roof of the temple as they groaned from the fall.
Soon the entire team returned to the museum to regroup as they all seemed exhausted from their fights. "Guys, you are not going to believe what we just went through tonight." Flash told the others.
"You battled the possessed mannequin of a mortal enemy?" Trail guessed.
"Him and his goons tried to send you to the Departed Realm with magic blades?" Rainbow added with a smirk.
"But you defeated them first." Frost continued.
"And saw their ghosts disappear into the night." Lloyd finished with a smirk.
"Wow, you guys are good." Spike said in surprise.
"Well, since we know so much, why were all those ghosts out here?" Thunder questioned.
"Because distracting you was part of Master Yang's plan." Wu said as he, Wu, Celestia, and Luna walked in.
"And he had help." Morro spoke up as he came up behind the three.
"Morro!" Lloyd yelled with a glare as he drew his sword as did the others.
"Any other villains want to show up tonight?!" Rarity questioned.
"We've stopped the others, we can take you on just as easily!" Applejack added before Sensei Wu quickly stepped in front of him.
"Wait, he is not an enemy, he is an ally who just shared important information." He told them.
"Wu and Morro explained to us when they picked me, Luna, and Discord up from our old castle." Celestia said to them as she turned to her former pupil. "Morro, tell them what you told us."
"Yang tricked Landrush into helping him open a rift to return to Equestria." Morro explained to them.
"Landrush?" Gaia repeated before she gasped in both realization and shock. "Landy!"
"Whoa, Gaia, easy." Thunder said as he looked to the air. "Landrush, how did Yang trick you exactly?"
"Thunder, Landrush isn't here." Fluttershy pointed out.
"Are you sure? He's been fading a lot lately." Thunder pointed out. "He's kind of easy to miss."
Then the entire group gasped in realization. "We forgot Landrush!" They all exclaimed.
"Yang must've mess with our minds to forgot about Landrush when we were at the muesume!" Twilight exclaimed in shock.
"Mandbrush!" Hope shouted.
"So, that's why you've been so jittery all night." Discord told his daughter. "You've been trying to get to Landrush."
"Quick, to the Bounty!" Luna called out. "They must be at the Temple of the Airjitzu Master!" She called as they nodded and rushed up to the Bounty, leaving Wu, Celestia, and Morro behind as the two former teachers turned to their former pupil.
"Thank you, Morro." Wu thanked him.
"It is nice of you to help us." Celestia said with a fond smile. "And it's great to finally get to see you one last time. You're welcome to come with us if you like."
"I…I don't think I should." Morro mentioned. "After all, Yang said I'm only here just as long as the eclipse is still up. I only came to repay a debt."
This made them frowned before they gave small smiles. "We understand, Morro. At least you made your time here well." Wu said with a smile.
"Thank you, for your help, Morro. And I'm glad to know you can rest knowing we forgive you." Celestia said with a smile.
"Happy Day of the Departed, masters." Morro said with a smile as the two shared a hug.
"And here's thanks for delivering us the message." Discord said before he snapped his fingers and the glow that covered Morro vanished.
"What…What did you do?" Morro asked as his voice didn't sound disoriented anymore.
"Everyone deserves a second chance." Discord mentioned with a warm smile.
Morro was surprised as he felt his body was no longer plastic but flesh, blood and fur. "You made this body more real." He in said shock.
"How did you…" Celestia tried to say.
"As Lord of Chaos, and with Morro's spirit here, I manage to make it so that he could live again in a new body." Discord said with a smile, which made Celestia smile warmly and give her husband a kiss.
"Thank you, Discord." Celestia said as they smiled.
"Now let us go." Wu spoke up. "We have another pupil to save." He said as the four rushed off to the Bounty.
At Yang's Temple, Yang and Landrush regained their bearings as they got up and glared at each other. "Just give up already!" Yang yelled.
"No! I'm keeping you here until the eclipse ends and the rift closes!" Landrush countered as he ready his sword while Yang picked up the Yin Blade. "Your evil will never return to Equestria!"
Yang and Landrush then started clashing blades as the students came out of the temple and watched the two fight. "What are you even fighting for?! Your friends have abandoned you!" Yang yelled as they clashed weapons before he smacked Landrush back as he gave a laugh. "Your master has abandoned you as well! Your marefriend has abandoned you! You are all alone!"
"Nnnooo!" Landrush shouted before he quickly got up and the two jumped at each other. But Yang managed to kick him down as he continued to keep him down. He swung his Yin Blade at Landrush's sword as it broke off until the handle remained as Landrush screamed as Yang laughed. "Can't… go on… alone." He muttered.
"Yes. Yield." Yang said with a smirk before looking at the rift. "Soon I will be gone, but you will remain forever Departed, destined to haunt this temple forever as the new Master of the House!" He declared as Landrush sadly took off his hood as Yang laughed.
Landrush saw himself as he saw that he was fading. "I'm… fading away." He muttered sadly.
"Just one lonely ghost without a friend in the world." Yang said as he turned to be ready to jump through the rift. "Not a friend in the world." He added with a laugh as Landrush looked down in defeat, ready to accept his fate.
"Landrush!" They heard a familiar voice called out before they looked to see the Harmony's Bounty flying in.
"Huh?" Landrush asked as a smile formed on his face.
"What? Who's that?!" Yang questioned in shock.
"Landrush!" Gaia called at the top of her voice.
"My friends!" Landrush called in joy as he put on his hood and focused as he appeared again and used his newly spirit to kicked Yang in the gut, sending him flying as he landed on his hooves. "Ghost or not, I'm gonna do what I came here to do, Yang!" He called as he gave a yell as he engaged Yang with his fists, which Yang blocked with his blades as the two fought.
"We have to help him!" Gaia called while she and the others were feeling the wind from the rift.
"I can't bring it any closer." Aqua grunted as she tried to bring the Bounty closer, but the wind kept pushing them back. "The wind's still too strong!"
"I'll do what I can!" Flash said as he tried to control the wind while Aqua kept trying to get closer.
Yang and Landrush kept fighting each other while Landrush avoided his strikes. "And you're wrong! I'm not the one who's alone! You are!" Landrush called as he pointed to Yang.
"No! I have my family!" Yang yelled as he gestured to his students watching.
"No! You have prisoners!" Landrush corrected before he looked at the students. "That's not family! That's captivity!" He continued to fight Yang as the students listened to him before Landrush delivered a punch to Yang's gut, which sent the master flying to the roof with a groan. "Whoa. I feel… different." He said as he looked at his hooves and saw them glowing orange as they traveled up to his body. "Like, like, I can punch through…" He started as he ducked a pounce from Yang and turned to him. "Anything!"
Landrush then raised his hooves and gave a mighty buck to Yang's Yin Blade, shattering it while sending Yang flying as the master yelled and hit the edge of the roof as the hoods on his students' heads faded as they all gasped and looked around in confusion.
"No! No! You broke my spell!" Yang cried out.
"The rift!" Landrush called to the students as he gestured to the rift. "If you hurry, you can be free of this place forever!"
The students all spoke out in excitement as they walked to the edge and they all did Airjitzu and flew up to the rift as they entered through it. Once through the rift, they all landed on the temple's ground, no longer ghosts as they are now free as they cheered happily.
The team saw the ponies suddenly appear on the grounds of the temple as they tried to get closer. "Where did they come from?!" Pinkie asked while pointing at the ponies.
"The rift, Landrush must have broken the spell on them and they went through the rift!" Morro theorized.
"Well, he better hurry for his turn! Because the rift is almost closed!" Luna exclaimed in worry.
Yang moaned in pain from the punch and after seeing his students went through the rift. "My… My students… leaving me!" He called out in shock. "I…I failed."
"Yeah, you did." Landrush said as he prepared himself to Airjitzu his way up to the rift.
"I always fail." Yang sadly said.
"Yeah, you-" Landrush stopped when he realized what Yang just said. "Wait, what?"
"I dedicated my life to studying the martial arts." Yang said as Landrush went down to him. "Alone. I got arrogant, I wanted to live forever, like Celestia."
"Why?" Landrush asked as he helped Yang up. "No one lives forever. Not even dragons or Alicorns."
"Because I knew the day I was gone, no creature would remember me." Yang said sadly.
"All of this was so you wouldn't be forgotten?" Landrush asked in surprised by Yang's action.
Everyone saw the conversation from the Bounty. "What is he doing?" Spike asked in confusion. "Is-Is he talking to Yang?"
"The rift cannot be opened again until the next Yin-Yang eclipse," Wu said to them.
"Which, according to my calculations, won't happen for 3,721 years." Frost said to them.
"That's long even by Alicorn standards," Celestia said with worry.
"Landrush! The rift!" Gaia's voice called out as Yang and Landrush looked up at the Bounty. "You gotta pass through the rift!" She yelled out.
"You must think I'm a fool for having such a petty desire," Yang said in shame.
"No, I get it." Landrush spoke up. "Believe me, I get it. I know what it's like to feel forgotten, alone. It…It hurts." He said as he turned to Yang with a smile. "But Master Yang, you are already gonna be remembered forever."
"Me? How?" Yang asked in surprise.
"You created Airjitzu." Landrush answered with a smile as Yang felt touched by that as he covered his eyes. "If it wasn't for that, me and my friends would never have saved Equestria!"
"Landrush, it's now or never!" Twilight screamed as the rift started closing.
"Now come on, there's still time to go through. Both of us." Landrush said as he held Yang and did Airjitzu as they flew close to the rift.
"No, I'm afraid that's impossible!" Yang told him. "The curse of Yin Blade requires at least one ghost to remain behind as Master of the House! No magic can break it!"
"One of us has to stay here?" Landrush asked in shock.
"It must be this way." Yang said as he then grabbed Landrush.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" Landrush asked in confusion.
"Settling my debt." Yang said before he tossed Landrush further up as he fell back to the temple while Landrush screamed as he was tossed into the rift before it closed. Iit unleashed a bright flash of light, which pushed the Bounty back from the strong wind.
"The wind's too strong to control!" Flash called out. "Brace yourselves, because it's going to be a hard landing!" He screamed as they made their way to the Temple.
All around Equestria, every creature released their Departed Lanterns as they floated up and lit up the sky just as the yin-yang eclipse was passing.
The team got off the Bounty after it crashed on the floating island as they looked around. "Is everypony alright?" Misako asked.
"Nothing that tightening a few screws can't fix." Frost said as he looked at himself.
"We're fine," Spike said as they all climbed down.
"But where's Landrush?" Lloyd asked in concern.
"Oh no," Fluttershy feared.
"Did…Did he make it?" Gaia asked the others in a concerned tone.
"I don't see him." Morro said while they all could see were Yang's students.
"Oh, no! He was too late!" Pinkie cried out. "He's gone forever!"
This made the others pale and sad. "No… No. He can't be." Gaia pleaded as tears began to form.
"I'd give anything to have him back." Thunder whimpered as they all looked down in sadness.
"Anything?" A familiar voice spoke up.
"Anything." Thunder repeated.
"Even the Sonic Raider jet?" Landrush asked with a smirk as he jumped over the rock to reveal his normal form, but has a green scar on his forehead.
"Landrush!" His friends, san Gaia, all cheered as they rushed up to him as they gave him a group hug.
"You're not a ghost anymore!" Lloyd cheered.
"You look as good as new, darling." Rarity added.
"Ah. Pretty much." Landrush said as he rubbed his scar before he turned to Gaia, who just stood there as he smiled. "Well, Gaia, I'm back to being normal."
Gaia kept quiet as she smiled and tears started falling from her face as she rushed up to Landrush and she quickly came up to him and hugged him tightly as she sobbed while Landrush returned the hug. "I-I'm so sorry we, I, forgot about you, Landy." She whimpered. "W-We didn't mean to…"
"Hey, it's okay." Landrush said to her softly. "I'm here now. And you guys are here as well. Thank you, Gaia." He said as Gaia looked up at him before she then surprised Landrush with a kiss on the lips which surprised him before he returned the gesture holding each other while the others watched.
"Looks like Gaia is speaking from her heart instead of her words," Aqua said with a smile at seeing her two friends finally together.
"Heh, we know how they feel." Flash said while looking at Twilight as they gave warm smiles.
"Uh, I hate to break up this moving moment, but look at what else is new," Rainbow spoke up as she pointed towards the temple, which had no vines or boarded up windows anymore.
"Ah, the Temple of the Airjitzu Master has been returned to its former glory." Luna said with a smile. "It would seem that a curse that was put upon it had been broken when Landrush returned."
"It's beautiful," Fluttershy said as they all looked at the temple with smiles.
"You know, that'd be a pretty cool place for a Ninja to train." Landrush suggested with a smile with the others behind him while Gaia was next to him.
A bit later, everyone and their friends and family, as well as Yang's students, sat by the campfire outside the temple after Landrush finished his story with Gaia next to him. "Whoa! And was I right or was I right?!" Landrush asked them.
"For the tenth time, you were right!" Smolder complained.
"Are you going to retell this story every Day of the Departed from now on?" Thunder asked in annoyance.
"Only until you admit to Landy that you didn't want to move in because you were scared it's still haunted," Gaia said with a smirk while she and Landrush held each other's hooves while giving each other warm smiles as they all laughed.
"I wasn't scared, I was cautious." Thunder said, rubbing his hoof.
"Applejack?" Landrush said, wanting her to check if Thunder was lying.
"Judging by how he's rubbing his hooves, baloney," Applejack said with a smirk.
"Okay fine, I was scared!" Thunder admitted with a concerning look. "And wrong. There's no more ghosts here. Right?"
"Nope, no ghosts at all." Landrush said before he looked back at the temple and could see the ghost of Sensei Yang smiling through one of the windows as Landrush gave him a wink.
Then everyone stood up and released their lanterns as they all floated up to the night sky. "Happy Day of the Departed." Yang said to the group as the lanterns floated up to the sky.
Meanwhile at the museum, Dr. Saunders was humming to himself as he was making his way towards the back of the museum. He stopped before checking behind him to see if anyone was there before taking out an old pocket watch. He opened up the watch to check the time as he let out a small chuckle. "It is almost time." He said to himself before walking over to an old throne. "Almost time." He spoke with a different voice before pushing the back of the throne to open up a secret passage. "Time to prepare for his arrival." He said as he then entered the secret passage as before the secret door closed the sound of snakes hissing was heard.
Whatever Dr. Saunders is up to, there's more to him than meets the eye and something big is coming, which he knows about.
