Ken Kaneki was on his last leg fighting off the thousands of doves; his ghoul attire was shredded and his best friend needed urgent care. Ken did all he could between being Eyepatch and Centipede and Hide coming up to him threw his mindset off more despite his crazed state. Hide smiled speaking quietly to him everything was gonna be ok and that they could flee to the country side yet judging by the injuries, Hide couldnt stand much longer.
When noone was in sight, Ken thought he could get out of Tokyo when he was forced to halt spotting Arima.
'My friend needs medical attention.'
'Only way you can save your friend is the demon village Hinamizawa. Its a remote place where some visitors die or disappear or so the rumors claim. Its perfect for you not your friend.'
'Never heard of it. Why are you telling a ghoul like me?'
'You're not a real ghoul but a ghoul just the same.'
Currently as the casadas made noise, Ken Kaneki made it to the clinic where Dr Irie was working at.
"Hopefully we made it to Hinamizawa." says Ken falling to his knees.
Dr Irie was getting his his car, work ending, when he spotted the two new faces. A white haired male who was looking on the verge of death while the blonde was unconscious from lack of blood.
When Ken woke up in the clinic, his blurry eyes looked around before immediately sitting up in a panic. How was he gonna explain how his regeneration worked? Dr Irie came into the room with questions about them.
"Either you 2 moved here or just visiting. Im not gonna go into detail but you kept screaming 'I ate my friend to save myself!'. Thats not something a human normally dreams of." says Dr Irie.
"But I...he..." says Ken eyeing the brunette.
"Its ok. Ever since Keiichi moved here, I heard quite a bit of crazy things." says Dr Irie.
"What crazy things?" wonders Ken.
"Satoshi Hojo for example. We are unsure of his whereabouts or if he has been spirited away but he was always freaked out that his and Satoko's dead aunt was still alive." says Dr Irie.
"When was this?" wonders Ken.
"It was 1982. Kinda coincidence that after Satoshi disappeared Keiichi came to the village in 1983." says Dr Irie.
"What year is it now?" wonders Ken.
"What year do you think it is?" wonders Dr Irie.
"...2015? No...2014? Alots happened in Tokyo I still cant comprehend." says Ken setting his hand on his forehead.
Dr Irie chuckled a bit that the confused white head.
"Is this a trick question? I was a black haired older teen then stress gave me white hair. Torture like no other around my birthday in December..." says Ken.
"Lets start with your name and age." says Dr Irie.
Ken looked at Irie in more confusion as he wracked his brain.
"My name is Ken Kaneki, age 19 born in Tokyo." says Ken raising an eyebrow.
"Do you know what year you were born?" wonders Dr Irie.
"2015-19=1996 doctor...?" says Ken.
"Doctor Irie." says Dr Irie.
"And you think its 2015?" wonders Dr Irie.
"I mean yeah...I was cursed with demon powers. Out of nowhere but demonic just the same. So if the year is wrong...I wouldnt be alive. Nor Hideyoshi who is a year older than me." says Ken.
"Demon powers?" wonders Dr Irie frowning.
Ken went quiet.
"Everyone whos ever felt off about something came to me." says Dr Irie smiling.
"What is believable at this point? My father died when I was 4 and my mom when I was 10. I lived with my aunt for years and she would berate me over every little thing," says Ken.
"Sounds like Satoko and Satoshi." says Dr Irie.
"They went through the same thing?" wonders Ken.
"Its not enjoyable to talk about but every June, the Watanagashi Festival is held and one person dies while another disappears. Satoshi and Satokos parents were killed and soon after their aunt and uncle took them in and they began abusing them. Satoshi wanted a better future and in return he disappeared after the aunt was killed." says Dr Irie.
"This Satoshi disappeared on his sister like I disappeared on Hideyoshi...that cant be coincidence." says Ken shaky eyed.
"Lets not focus on the year right now. Tell me about you mysterious white haired teen-Ken Kaneki." says Dr Irie.
"After graduating Hideyoshi and I started college at Kami university." says Ken.
"Thats a strange name to call a college." says Dr Irie.
"I dont know what will sound sane to you but I dont know much about my father since I was little but I do know my mom was human. I felt human around her growing up. Even Hideyoshi saw me as human when we met in elementary school. It was when mom died that I started feeling like happiness was a myth as it slowly faded away having to live with my aunt on my mom's side. She was human too and didnt see anything good in me leaving me only Hideyoshi to depend on. Years went by as Hideyoshi and I grew closer never wanting anyone in our circle." says Ken.
"So this would make it 2014 then?" wonders Dr Irie.
Ken nodded.
"Start of college I was 18, Hideyoshi 19. 1 year apart. Wouldnt leave my side no matter what I did. He would make sure he did everything with me." says Ken.
"Still feels like 1983 to most of the villagers. Especially the generation of the 80s elementary students. They should have families by now. Rika is 44, Satoko is 45, Rena is 46, Mion and Shion are 47, Keiichi is 46?, Satoshi if he were to appear would be 47. Rika knows everything about everyone. You cant get anything past her." says Dr Irie.
"Tell me more about these demonic transitions." says Dr Irie.
"...If my ghoul life was known I would be dead when I was a child. I dont know what you think of Tokyo but there are people there that go after the supernatural; ghouls would be a good way to see beings like me." says Ken.
"Ghouls? Demons live in Tokyo?" wonders Dr Irie.
"Unless found out. Like my cafe friends. And others who even I had to fight to survive." says Ken.
"Demons coexist with the city citizens? News to me." says Dr Irie.
"You'd be surprised. Hey, is Hide ok enough to check out the village?" wonders Ken.
"Hide? Oh, your friend is bandaged up. You sure you can walk around with your bodies in pain?" says Dr Irie.
"You may not like how ghouls regenerate." says Ken laughing nervously.
"Demons regenerate?" wonders Dr Irie.
"Nevermind. I'd be more likely to look good as new compared to Hide. Can you take me to Hide's room?" wonders Ken.
"Wait what?" wonders Dr Irie.
Ken stood up and walked passed Dr Irie to look for Hide's room. Dr Irie stood up not wanting Ken to open any wounds yet Ken was more focused on sniffing out Hide. Dr Irie sighed letting the newcomer go and find out why the village was deemed a demon village.
"Its not like we have inns in the village." thinks Dr Irie.
Minutes felt like hours as Ken carried Hide piggyback style around the village. Everyone in the village were doing what villagers normally do though they werent to fond of new faces from the city. With so many new scents, Ken didnt noticed a blue haired priestess watching the new faces from the temple stairs.
"Most villagers despise city people for abandoning us when we needed them. Granted the cotton drifting festival of 83 was one hell of a ride." says Rika walking down the steps.
"I dont know what you know but ghou-demons coexist with city humans now. Though they need a brigade for demons when they hunt humans." says Ken looking at Rika a bit startled.
"And your friend knows you are a demon. How beautiful. Humans turn into monsters over trivial matters and dont see the truth of things. Are city demons different from country demons?" wonders Rika staring at the white head and blonde.
"We-uhhhmmmm, ghouls have 4 types of kagune and to tell a ghoul apart from human they have black soleras and red pupils. Some have wings called ukaku, some have tentacles called rinkaku, some have tails called Bikaku and some have armor over one arm called koukaku." says Ken watching Rika stop at the end of the stairs.
"And which are you 2?" wonders Rika.
"Its complicated even when I try to wrack my mind." says Ken.
"Are you demon or human?" wonders Rika.
"Im a rinkaku ghoul while Hide is human. I was raised as a human so I startled myself at age 18 when my eyes turned and I got hungry for humans. I tried to keep myself distant yet nosey here wouldnt let up." says Ken.
"The blonde?" wonders RIka.
"Y-yeah?" wonders Ken.
"You are welcome to stay here but my friends will have to like you too. So the city finally went the ancient times way when demon villagers cut open humans to eat. Strange to ponder but its what they get for wanting to block us off with the dam project." says Rika.
"You dont mean that do you?" wonders Ken.
"There are alot of questions involving why Tokyo city would involve demons now of all times." says Rika.
"Thats not a good sign." says Ken sweat dropping.
