Day One

Upon hearing the alarm clock, a petite figure arose from the bed, prompting the raven-haired woman to emit an exasperated groan as she promptly silenced the clock with a sharp tap.

'Oh, Soifon, you're awake,' remarked her elder brother, positioned in the doorway with his arms folded across his chest and his long black hair slightly disheveled from just waking up.

'Good morning, Itachi,' Soifon replied with a fatigued smile. 'Now that you're up, I must go wake Sasuke,' Itachi stated before departing, leaving Soifon to prepare herself.

After Itachi exited her room, Soifon moved to shut the door in order to dress for their first day at the boarding school where Itachi had enrolled the twins to enhance their social skills after three years of constant travel for unspecified reasons.

Retrieving her uniform from the closet, Soifon ran her fingers through her hair, knowing that Itachi had already packed most of their belongings for the dormitories, waiting in the car.

Upon dressing herself, the young woman with dark hair gazed at her reflection in the mirror to assess her appearance. She wore a uniform consisting of a dark blue-gray skirt that fell just above her knees, a length she disliked but chose not to vocalize any complaints about. The mostly white shirt had dark gray-blue edges, complemented by a red tie.

Completing her look with her hair styled in braids adorned with white cloths and golden rings, she adjusted her bangs before donning her brown shoes and long white socks.

'Are you two ready?' called Itachi from downstairs, reminding them that breakfast was prepared and urging them not to be late on their first day. 'Yeah, yeah, I'm coming, Itachi,' responded Soifon as she heard her twin brother Sasuke grumble from the hallway, causing her to chuckle.

Carrying her school bag and phone, Soifon exited her room and nearly collided with Sasuke, who sternly remarked, "Hey, sis, watch where you're going." Unfazed, Soifon shot back, mirroring his glare, "Well, why are you just standing outside my room?"

Sasuke, attired similarly to Soifon in a uniform consisting of dark blue-gray pants, a plain white shirt, a black tie, and matching shoes and socks, sported black-blue spiked hair arranged at the back of his head and framing his face slightly.

"Alright, you two, cease your bickering and come downstairs or take your breakfast to go," Itachi's voice echoed from the foot of the stairs.

"Sorry, Itachi," Soifon apologized before making her way downstairs, disregarding her twin's silent disapproval. Entering the kitchen, followed by Sasuke, Itachi playfully teased, "About time, you two." Soifon rolled her eyes as she settled at the table with an apple in hand.

Be quiet, Itachi," Sasuke stated as he sat down next to Soifon and grabbed a plate of pancakes. Itachi shook his head, sitting across from the twins and reaching for his cup of coffee. He was dressed in black pants, a white shirt, a black jacket, and a tie around his neck.

"Is it your first day at the police station?" Soifon inquired curiously, taking bites of her apple. "Yes, after I drop you two off at the boarding school," Itachi replied. Soifon nodded and glanced at Sasuke, who had crossed his arms.

"I don't know why we have to go anyway. Can't we just stay here and then go to the school part?" he asked. Soifon kicked Sasuke's leg under the table. "Ow, what was that for?" Sasuke demanded, glaring at her. She shrugged, saying, "For being an idiot," and yelped when Sasuke kicked her back.

Itachi sighed as he observed the twins engage in a dispute, contemplating their similarities and differences. While Soifon tended to be more reserved unless provoked and exhibited a short temper similar to many Uchihas, Sasuke was quick-tempered and vocal about his dislikes.

Itachi noted that both twins shared a tendency to glare, though he found Soifon's glare to be particularly severe. Another common trait between them was their unwavering support for each other, even amidst arguments, reflecting typical twin dynamics.

They subtly expressed their discontent when necessary. 'The proximity of the school and dormitory facilitates your class attendance, and you will have the weekends and holidays to spend at home if you wish,' Itachi remarked as he rose to clean his cup.

Upon rising from their seats, Soifon and Sasuke obediently trailed behind Itachi as he led them out of the residence. 'Plus, it is beneficial for you both to engage with others,' Itachi remarked as the twins entered the vehicle.

Taking the driver's seat, Itachi securely fastened his seatbelt and commented, 'I have ensured you possess funds for necessities and some extra for your desires,' just before maneuvering out of the driveway.

Observing the passing scenery, Soifon gazed out the window while Itachi skillfully navigated towards the boarding school, situated on the opposite end of town, where they would be residing in the dormitories. As the lengthy journey came to an end, Itachi halted at the boarding school, ushering the twins out of the car.

'Alright, enjoy yourselves and strive to avoid altercations,' he reminded them as Soifon and Sasuke alighted from the vehicle.

Casting a fleeting glance at each other, the siblings remained silent as they observed their brother driving away from the curb. 'Are you prepared?' inquired Soifon, beginning to make her way indoors, with Sasuke trailing closely behind.

Upon suggesting, 'Let us proceed to our respective dorm rooms to unload our belongings before heading to class,' Soifon mentioned, despite them having separate dorm rooms with roommates to share. 'Very well, Soifon. See you later,' Sasuke replied.

Soifon nodded as she watched her twin sibling leave for his dorm. Since they had already arranged to have their belongings sent by mail, there was no need to visit the office for anything. Letting out a deep sigh, she realized this would be the first time the twins would be apart from each other.

Retrieving a small piece of paper with her dorm number on it, the small teenager began walking towards the girls' side of the dormitory, opposite to where Sasuke was heading, as the school was divided into separate sections for girls and boys.

Adjusting her bag on her shoulder and dragging her suitcase behind her, Soifon proceeded down the long hallway. She had now reached the third floor where her dorm room was located, and her stormy gray eyes scanned the door numbers.

Upon reading the numbers 301, 302, 205, Soifon searched for room 313. The raven-haired teenager sighed as she walked down the hall but smiled upon finally finding it.

'Ah, finally,' she exclaimed when reaching her dorm room and pulling out the key. Soifon took a deep breath before unlocking the door and entering. Curious about her roommate, she hoped for a calm presence rather than a hyper or loud one.

Upon hearing a voice exclaim 'Ah, roomie!' Soifon turned to see a dark-skinned girl with long purple hair and golden eyes lying on a bed by a window, reading a book. 'Ah, hi,' Soifon greeted, placing her belongings on the empty bed near the door.

Soifon was surprised by the interaction, especially with an older teenager, and expressed her thoughts with, 'It's good to meet you,' as the purple-haired girl gave her full attention by sitting up from her reading.

'Greetings. My name is Soifon Uchiha,' stated Soifon, her gray eyes narrowing. 'I am Yoruichi Shihion,' replied the older teen, with a smirk on her face as she walked over to examine Soifon more closely.

Soifon nodded, observing Yoruichi's movements. 'Aren't you supposed to be in class, Yoruichi?' she inquired, making a point to maintain eye contact with the dark-skinned girl who still had a smirk on her face.

'I am not one to attend classes. My family does own this establishment, but I may consider going now that you are here,' teased Yoruichi as she halted in front of Soifon.

Soifon narrowed her eyes, displeased with the way she was being scrutinized. 'Regardless, I must make my way to class,' she stated, indicating to Yoruichi that she was not interested in participating in any games she may want to engage in.

Yoruichi inquired, 'Is today your first day?' as she crossed her arms. 'Why not skip and use this time to introduce ourselves?' The braided teenager declined, stating firmly, 'No, I must attend class. It's my first day here,' before collecting her school bag from the bed. 'I bid you farewell, Yoruichi. It was a pleasure meeting you,' she said before leaving the room swiftly.

Yoruichi observed with a smile, 'This year just became more captivating,' as she watched Soifon depart. Subsequently, after Soifon exited, Yoruichi grabbed her bag and proceeded to class, recognizing the opportunity to bond with her new friend.
