We have now reached the third ever azulanette fanfiction and even though this one is gonna be a short one I'm still happy. My disjointed thoughts/ideas about these two are slowly but surely becoming jointed, also I did announce an azulanette week coming out in July, so if any of you want to join that go right on ahead.
Also the inspiration for this fic comes from a post I made a bit ago anyway, I hope you enjoy.
Marinette wasn't immune to staying up too late. She liked sleeping and tried her best to have some type of semblance of a functional sleep schedule but something about her made it hard to keep in mind how much time has passed in her life. One moment the evening would start the next moment it was almost midnight. This has been going on in her life since she was young and at this point, she's learned to live with it. She could wake on time on the week days but on weekends, she would give herself the luxury of sleeping in an hour or two later than usual.
At least that was what she was planning until the smell of burning food entered her nose. She woke up with a start as the smell she knew just a bit too well filled her senses and she rushed to the kitchen. Marinette was no stranger to burning food but it was still a problem.
As she reached the final steps of her house, she saw the black smoke, smoke that wasn't as bad as she thought, coming from the middle of the kitchen. She reflexively opened a window then turned around to talk to the culprit. "Azula, what happened?"
Her girlfriend batted away some of the smoke around her. "I wanted to make you breakfast but I'm still not good with ovens."
Marinette couldn't stay mad at her. She smiled at the kind gestured, ignored the smell of charred... whatever, and gave Azula a hug.
Yep, this was short but I wanted to try it out. I think I might do more short fics like this in the future for no reason. It absolutely has nothing to do with the fact that I'm planning to write a fallen hero x villain multi-chapter fic that requires more time and attention than a short fic. Also if you're wondering if Marinette's relationship to sleeping is based off personal experience, I plead the fifth.
