Author's Note: Hello everyone and welcome to a new account here on I haven't been on this site since I was 14 years old making one shot stories or in fact one story that I never finished. Black Heart Turned Golden was my first Yu Yu Hakusho fanfiction which sucked within itself. Which is probably why it was discontinued. Now, I bring you a more mature version of me, and I have rewatched this anime and finally have all the facts.

This story is about Raizen's child. Quick history lesson: Raizen is one of the three Kings. Raizen had an illegitimate child with a human in the human world. End history lesson. That's literally all that I took and put into a story.

DISCLAIMER! THIS STORY IS NOT LORE ACCURATE IN ANY WHICH WAY! I did take the characters in the anime and I used a little bit of the original lore but 99% of this story is my own concoction. Without further ado, I hope you enjoy and read on!

There was a figure shrouded in black in the throne room. He was kneeling and kept his eyes on the floor as he waited for the confirmation that he was allowed to raise his head. He did not want to be here…Mukuro had ordered that he return to the Kingdom at once despite him saying that he had things to do in the Human world with Urameshi and the team. The door opened and from his view of the floor he saw two pairs of boots and a pair of heels enter the room. The heels clicked on the marble floor and he resisted the urge to straighten up. The two guards on each side of Hiei would definitely love that, him disrespecting the Queen of the Demons. Not that they would lay a finger on him…

"Stand, Hiei." Queen Mukuro sounded tired. As Hiei straightened he saw that she was rubbing her temples. "Leave us."

The two guards left out the door Mukuro came through and Hiei rested his arm on the hilt of his sword. "Why did you call me here?" He was matter of fact. Straight to the point. "I'm busy."

"I didn't have a choice. You know that." Mukuro waved her hand and a mirage appeared in between them. It rippled like water and was just as transparent. There was a figure on the screen, a young girl with long golden hair and bright emerald green eyes. She was…beautiful. Hiei stared with no expression. His lips formed a small line and he finally tore his eyes away. "You too huh?" Mukuro was watching him carefully.

"Who is she?" Hiei took control of the conversation and cleared his throat.

"Her name is Princess Reiki. She is the daughter of Raizen."

"The daughter of a god…" Hiei contemplated his next words. "And you are showing her to me why?"

"I have a mission for you. Kill her."

There was a pause. You could hear a pin drop. Hiei's eyes found the girl's and he watched as she laughed silently. She was dancing in a white dress.

Kill her. Those words reverberated around in Hiei's mind. Hiei owed the Queen his life. Mukuro saved him as a baby and had practically raised him. Training him to be her right hand man, to kill anyone she pleased…Failure to kill was never an option. He looked back at the girl in the mirage and contemplated her. She looked…innocent. Pure. Unlike a demon. Then it was like a lightbulb went off in his head. There was a story that was told to him as a child about Raizen. A long time ago, Raizen used to be extremely powerful. He would feed on humans and their life would sustain him and curb his hunger. He could best even the strongest of demons. However, someone even as strong as the King of Demons had to have a weakness. He was attacked by a league of demons and he retreated, severely injured to the human world where he met this beautiful woman. Despite his looks and his injuries, she stayed to help him and nursed Raizen back to health.

Raizen decided to stay in the Human world because he fell in love with the woman, who was a doctor. He vowed to never feed on a human ever again. During childbirth, much like Hiei, the woman died and gave birth to Raizen's only child. Which must be Reiki. Hiei stayed silent, contemplating. He had thought this was just…a story. A childhood story that wasn't real. After all, he thought demons and humans couldn't actually procreate.

"Hiei!" Mukuro's voice brought Hiei back from the thoughts whirling around in his head. "I've already taken the liberty of stocking up your resources. I noticed you were spending most of your time in the human world with that fox demon and the spirit detective." Tch. Even down here, Yusuke was popular. "I've let them know, using your name of course, that you won't be joining their…adventures."

Hiei glared at her. Why the hell did she think it was okay to send a message to them on his behalf? That was uncalled for completely.

"Oh don't give me that look." Mukuro waved her hand dismissively. "You'll be busy chasing after her. She's a slippery little worm…" She let her voice trail off in a growl, letting Hiei know that this was definitely not the first time she's tried to kill this girl.

Hiei bit back his rhetoric remark. "Why are you even trying to kill her?" He said instead. "Why piss off Raizen?"

Mukuro sighed. "You know, if you stayed in the Demon World more often you would know the comings and goings. Raizen wants to get rid of all three Kings and have just one throne. On that throne he wants to sit this…half-breed child that will certainly ruin everything!"

"Right…And you think you are the perfect demon to sit atop that throne, don't you?"

"Raizen has lost his touch. He's turned soft. He had a forbidden child and he now wants to change everything that the demon world stands for. I'm, rather you, are sending a message. Kill the girl and bring me back her heart, or her head. Something." Mukuro stood up and flagged down the guards, who stood by each exit. "Just do your job Hiei."

Hiei growled and turned his back on the Queen. He hated being told what to do…but did he really have a choice? Mukuro owned him. He could almost feel the invisible chains weighing him down and keeping him from saying no. He almost reached the door before turning back.

"Mukuro!"

Mukuro turned around, eyes narrowed. The guards on either side shifted uncomfortably. They had never heard someone say Mukuro's name so blatantly.

"I want to be free. After this. This is the last time." Hiei met her eyes and held them easily. "After I kill her, I will no longer be your little errand boy."

"Alright." Mukuro shrugs and turns around. Hiei let out a breath he didn't know that he had been holding and away from his gaze, Mukuro smirked. She knew. She knew he would come crawling back and she would be waiting for him.

Hiei couldn't see the smirk, but he knew what the demon queen was thinking. He wasn't going to come back. Hiei pushed open the door to the outside and went to go earn his freedom.

Ending Note: This chapter was shorter than I wanted it to be, but I wanted to have the ending be him leaving behind Mukuro to add suspense. Chapters moving forward will be longer and have more information added. I guess you could say this was a teaser ;) If you have any questions, feel free to ask them and I will answer them in Author notes. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for the second chapter!
