She didn't want to help him. After everything he'd done, she didn't think he deserved it. But still, she was programmed to do the right thing, so she took him to Borg Tower to give him somewhere to stay.
"Are you insane?!" Her father was not happy with the idea of him staying. "Pixal, remarkable as your intentions are, you remember the last time he and his brother were in Ninjago. For all we know, he could be faking his amnesia in order to throw us off guard!"
Pixal frowned and placed a hand upon the wooden chair that Acronix was sat upon. "And as precautious as you may be, father," she said, "for all we know, he might not be faking his amnesia and actually needs our help!"
Acronix looked between the two of them, sensing some kind of tension, but not quite sure what was going on.
Borg examined him closely, trying to figure out whether or not he could trust the man before him. He pulled his wheelchair up next to where Acronix was sat and stared him deep in the eyes. Acronix's expression stayed the same. Confused eyes, sad smile. Borg shook his head and sighed. "Alright..." He reluctantly announced. "He can stay here. In the guest bedroom. Who're you gonna have treat him?"
"There's only one person I know who knows about things like this." Pixal replied. "Master Wu."
Acronix's head jerked up quickly. Clearly the name 'Wu' had jogged a memory.
Pixal raised an eyebrow at this realisation. "Do you know that name?" She asked Acronix.
He mirrored her raised eyebrow. "I...think so..." He said. "Sounds familiar."
"Have any of your memories come back?"
He shook his head. "I only recognise the name."
Borg rolled his eyes, and then gestured for Pixal to talk to him in the corner, away from Acronix. She followed his instructions.
"I still don't think we can trust him." He said.
Pixal placed a reassuring hand upon his shoulder. "Father please. You may not trust him now, but when he gets his memories back–"
"IF he gets his memories back!"
"Whatever. Who knows what useful information he can provide us with?"
Borg bit his lip. "That's why you're treating him like this?" He asked. "For information?"
They heard a loud smash behind them. Pixal twisted round to see what had happened.
Acronix had apparently gotten up from his chair and wandered over to the side table where a potted plant usually sat. However, the plant was now on the floor, surrounded by soil and broken pieces of plant pot. He'd obviously stood in the wrong place and caused the plant to fall off the table.
He bent down and scooped the flower up in his hands and placed it back on the table, no pot, no soil, just the flower.
"There." He said. "All fixed."
And to her surprise, Pixal laughed.
He had found her in the dessert. He had only intended on going on a small, relaxing stroll, but had ended up bringing home a guest. Well, 'guest' probably wasn't the right word. He didn't exactly bring her there after politely asking if she would like to join him for dinner. Technically, he had brought her there against her will, but what else could he do? He was a protector of Ninjago; when he found an unconscious girl in the dessert, he tended to do something about it.
When he had returned to the monastery, he was instantly bombarded with help. Cole helped him get her into the spare bed in their cabin whilst Zane tended to her wounds (she had a few scars on her face and arms). Nya had rushed to get her some food and water, Kai had gone to get her some extra blankets and Jay had brought back an ice pack and a hot water bottle, as if not sure whether she should be treated with cold or heat.
Once all cosied up and somewhat healthy, the ninja decided to give the girl some space so she could rest, but Lloyd insisted on staying by her side.
She was a beautiful young girl with long, black hair and olive skin. She bore a pink shirt and brown trousers, both of which had been badly ripped in whatever accident she'd been a part of. She had petite features that made her look cute as a button when she was asleep, but thats not why Lloyd had taken an interest in her.
From the moment he had found her in the dessert, he had known there was something special about this girl. He wanted to know who she was when she woke up, he wanted to know who caused her those injuries, but most importantly, he wanted to support her. She'd obviously been through a tough time and she'd need someone there to hold her hand when she recalled it. He wanted to be that someone.
After a good 3 hours, she awoke. Lloyd had stayed by her side the entire time. When her eyes fluttered open, he instantly noticed their beautiful colour. He had never met anyone with pink eyes like that before, but they really were beautiful. They reminded him of blossoms; of spring. He couldn't help but stare into them.
She coughed, waking him up from his trance.
"Uh...hi?" Was the first thing she said, in a surprisingly high pitched voice.
"Oh. Hi!" He replied. He stood up and shouted to the others that she was awake. He couldn't tell if they had heard him or not, but he'd soon find out.
He knelt back down next to her. "What's your name?" He asked her.
She smiled sweetly; "Lyra."
Suddenly, his stomach churned, he got a painful throbbing in his head and that awful feeling from earlier had resurfaced. Suddenly, he didn't want to be that someone anymore...
He had no idea what was wrong, she looked and seemed like a nice girl, so why was his gut telling him otherwise? Part of him wanted to trust this girl, the other didn't. The only problem was: he didn't know what half to listen to.
The most worrying part was: he felt all that simply from a name. 'Lyra' he thought. 'Lyra'. He kept recalling the name. Something just didn't feel right. Maybe he just didn't like the name?
To his relief, the others burst through the door at that exact moment, pulling him away from his thoughts.
"Are you alright?" Nya questioned, kneeling down to grasp Lyra's hand.
Lyra nodded and replied, "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm not quite sure what happened though. Or why I'm here." She studied the whole group. "You're the ninja, aren't you?"
Kai smirked and lent her his hand. "Kai. Pleased to meet you. It's always good to meet a fan." He said. She took his hand and shook it, rather roughly, as if she had been waiting for this day her entire life.
"Ohmigosh! Ohmigosh! Ohmigosh!" She squealed.
'Honestly...' Lloyd thought 'how can this girl give me such a bad feeling?'
"I'm Lyra by the way." She said excitedly to the others.
And there it was again. Lloyd's feeling.
"Okay, Lyra." Nya spoke, soothingly. "Can you recall what happened to you?"
Lyra hesitated, obviously reluctant to tell the story. "I was in Ninjago City. I was walking down an alleyway to get home when a man came up behind me and gagged me. I broke free of his grasp and tried to fight him off, but I wasn't strong enough. That's how I got the scars." She pointed to the little lines on her face before continuing her story. "I remember at one point, I passed out and when I woke up, I was in the dessert. He must've knocked me out, dumped me there and left. I tried to call for help but I was too weak, and eventually I passed out again, probably from dehydration."
The others shook their heads in grief. They felt bad for this girl. Why should they not? She'd been through so much the past day.
The only one who felt no remorse was Lloyd. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find it in himself to feel pity for her. Even after all that had happened.
Cole stepped forward. "This man," he said. "Do you know who he is?"
Lyra sighed and blinked back tears. "At first, I didn't." She announced, sadly. "But then I recognised him."
"Who was he?" Zane asked eagerly.
"An enemy from your past. I remember seeing you fighting him the last time he was in Ninjago."
"Who?"
"...Krux..."
