Is this how Tarzan felt swinging through the trees on his jungle vine? I don't have a vine, just a magical yo-yo, and I do my best to keep up with Cat as we zip through the trees.

With his cat-like abilities it seems easy for Cat to dart through the trees, but I'm having a hard time weaving my way in this web of green. "Head towards that bird nest!" Cat shouts back at me. "Is that safe?" I yell back, keeping my eyes forward as I see the nest about a hundred yards from us.

"We're about to find out! I'll check it out!" I sigh, praying my Kitty knows what he's doing. Finally, we arrive under the nest, panting and gasping for breath. It doesn't seem like anyone is following us.

Cat extends his stick using the camera feature getting a literal bird's eye view of the nest. "Whew, its been abandoned. Come on, M'lady!" "Hold it!" I grab him by his leather-belt tail and pull him back. "How do you know they aren't out for afternoon stroll and are coming back? Birds eat ladybugs, you know." Cat stares at me a second, then grabs his tummy as he bursts into laughter, making our branch wobbly.

I cross my arms and glare at my best friend. "Whatever is so funny?" "Oh, M'lady, M'lady. I may be allergic to feathers, but I was one of the best scouts my troop ever had. I know a thing or two about birds." "Okay…." I glance up nervously above me. "My Lady," I look back down and Cat is wearing his gentle smile, his eyes soft as he holds out his hand.

Together we swing to the nest, then tumble in. The first thing about the nest that comes to mind, its sturdy. And it keeps out the wind, I feel cozier already. When I'm convinced that no giant bird is going to swoop down to take me or Cat, we huddle together for a new game plan.

"He's almost fully bird-like, Ladybug. And when villains get desperate they turn even more evil." "Do you think we made the right choice, escaping like that as we did?" Cat shrugs. "Well, its better then being tossed in a dungeon or worse. Its just when we need to get back inside…." "We'll figure that out when we need to. He's up to something, though. Don't you find it strange he didn't send a bird after us?" "I would more say relived, but we'll just have to keep our eyes and ears open."

"We'll need to think about dinner soon. And we have nothing left in the packs." "Then let's go fishing." I sigh, running my hands through my black hair. "Be serious, would you?" "I am. With this many trees around, there's bound to be a stream close by, and I'm an expert fisher-cat." "And what I am supposed to do? Cheer you on?" I nudge him, eyes twinkling and Cat blushes. "Normally, I'd love that, but that would scare the fish. You can gather firewood and greens by the creek. Water crest is excellent, I've heard." We do our signature pound and head down to the forest floor.

Its good to keep my hands busy, but I can't shake an uneasy feeling something is watching us, waiting to make a move. Despite my worries, I concoct a delicious stew and I find just enough flour and oil to make dumplings. Cat scrapes his bowl clean, licks his lips and asks for seconds. Now I'm the one blushing from the heat of the fire.

There's enough for one more bowl and even if my stomach growls, I give it to Cat because how many times back in school did I hear Adrien's stomach growl?

We head back to our nest, setting up a watch throughout the night, I rest my head in Cat's lap, him stroking my now loose hair. "Do you miss Paris?" I ask, rolling onto my back to look at him. He shakes his head. "No, my favorite memories of Paris as after I met you." "Oh, Cat."

I sit up, kissing him and he wraps his arms around my back, holding me in his arms. How long we stay in that embrace, I don't know.

But when dawns breaks and the birds start twittering there good morning chorus, I sit up angry at myself.

"Why didn't you wake me? You need sleep even more then me!" "You looked so peaceful on your side of the nest, I didn't have a heart to wake you." I sigh, perhaps the stress-

"Shh," Cat puts a finger to my lips, his ears flapping and twitching. "Do you hear that?" he whispers, lips at my ears. I shake my head, all I hear is birds and peace…

Then the peace shatters into shards of a million pieces when we hear the voice, a familiar voice, one I never hoped to hear again.

"Adrien! Adrien!" I clap a hand to my mouth as I glance at Cat, trying to scare him. Cat is deathly pale as he grips his staff. "That's my father's voice. How could he call out from the grave?" before I can respond, a new voice pure and sweet rings out.

"Adrien, come here, Cat! Time for a story!"

"Cat, wait!" "That's my mother!" Cat bounds into the trees before I can stop him. Obviously, its either Gabriel nor Emile, but Cat seems to be enchanted by the voice of his "mother." But that's impossible, and some evil force must be out to get us.

"Cat, its not real!" Tears sting at my eyes as I scan the trees, my sharp eyes finding three crows mimicking Adrien's parents voices. Then, Cat seems to "snap" out of it and with a cry of pain and anger, he bounds towards the birds. "How dare you play with my feelings, Corvus! You have no right to use the voices of the ones I love!"

I turn away as Cat cataclysms the birds, and trees fall silent. But then, I hear a different sounds, branches and twigs snapping, and I scream aloud.

Cat is falling towards the earth from a scary height and I need to save him before he hits the ground. I save him just in time, but somehow Cat is already blacked out.

My emotions bubble over, and pressing my face into my partner's chest I give a fragile cry.
