Under the Effiel Tower...
Uraraka woke up to find herself on the ground under the Effiel Tower. Her head hurt so much from falling out of the bus. She didn't even remember the bus flipping over. She lifted her head nice and easy, feeling her hair blowing all over the place. As she sat up, she noticed everyone was knocked down from the fall. A few of them were getting up, but some of them were still knocked out.
As she looked around, she noticed that Midoriya wasn't anywhere to be seen. She frantically looked around for him, but couldn't find him. Soon enough, she felt dizzy from the impact of the accident.
"Izuku, where are you?!" Uraraka cried out.
Then she spotted him a bit further up. He was lying down on the ground, looking up at someone. She followed his gaze and was absolutely shocked to see Chrysalis floating high above him. She looked down at him with such determination and wickedness.
"Hey Izuku. It's been a while, hasn't it?"
Uraraka tried to stand up, but wondered how she was floating in the air. Then it clicked as she squinted her eyes at her. She was wearing her Miraculous. She felt her teeth clench up with fury as she used it so easily.
"What do you want, Chrysalis?" Midoriya cried out over the wind, "You already have Ochaco's quirk. You should just give it up now."
Chrysalis's laugh rang out from all around Paris, getting Class 1-A's attention and Ladybug's team from all sides. Uraraka felt a chill down her spine, making her freeze in place.
"You really think I'm going to stop after a little bit of this quirk?" Chrysalis asked him, "Of course not. I will have your quirk too, Izuku. I've just gotta play my cards right."
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock as she realized something that might help Ladybug's team. She looked down at her gloves, and her fingertips weren't glowing yet. Then she looked up at Chrysalis, wondering if she could turn it off on her end. Ladybug and her team could easily stop her. Without thinking about it, she felt her fingers get closer together.
Before she could however, she felt a sudden yank pulling her away from Chrysalis and Midoriya. It was HawkMoth's invisible grip. Then an explosion got in the way, and she dropped to the ground. She felt the wind get knocked out of her as she rolled over in the dirt. Then she saw someone coming up towards her.
It was Bakugo.
She tried to get up, but her side hurt from the impact.
"Come on, get up," Bakugo said as he reached out his hand, "I've gotta keep you away from Chrysalis."
Uraraka accepted his help, and she reached out. He pulled her up and noticed Ladybug's team going after HawkMoth. They were really going at it from all sides and almost had him. Then he would get one of them in an invisible grip and throw them at the others. Uraraka spotted Ladybug watching over her from high up in the sky. She could tell that she really wanted to help her, but knew that if she did, she would draw attention to Uraraka.
For now, Uraraka had to stick with Bakugo and anyone else that is willing to help them.
"What about Izuku?" Uraraka asked him, "He might need help with Chrysalis."
"I'm sure he can handle her for now. Besides, it looks like our class is stepping up to helping him out," Bakugo said to her.
Uraraka looked over at Midoriya and spotted all of her classmates finally up. Iida, Todoroki and Kirishima stepped up to help him out. Aoyama and Sato went over to Mr. Aizawa and Su Han to help them out. Then she spotted Jirou and Ashido coming their way over to check on her. Ashido looked like she was in tears as she ran into her arms.
"Uraraka! You're okay!" Ashido cried out, "I thought that Chrysalis took you away again. I got so worried when I couldn't find you--"
"It's okay, Ashido," Uraraka said to her, "I'm right here. Don't worry about it."
Ashido tried to wipe away her tears, but they just kept coming. Jirou tried to calm her down and soon Ashido was feeling a little bit better.
"Uraraka, did you see Chrysalis over there? She's totally using your quirk," Jirou pointed out.
"Yeah. I noticed," Uraraka said back.
She looked down at her gloves and they still weren't glowing. Gripping her gloves, she wondered what she should do now. She really wanted to use her quirk, but also didn't want to be the center of attention when it comes to Chrysalis. If she took her gloves off now, then she might take advantage of that.
"What do you want to do, Bakugo?" Jirou asked him.
"Me? What makes you think that I have a plan?" Bakugo asked back.
"Maybe because you're one of the smartest ones in the class," Jirou pointed out, "Besides, Uraraka can't use her quirk that much. We have to work our way around that obstacle somehow."
Uraraka noticed Bakugo thinking about it for a moment. As he thought about it, she noticed that Chrysalis was fighting against Midoriya and the others. She was so tempted to run over there and help them out. Uraraka fought her feet to stop from running over there as Bakugo thought about it. She could feel her gloves get a little sweaty as she waited for something from him.
"Well, Ladybug's really fast. Maybe we can get her to protect Uraraka," Bakugo said to them, "She'd be able to maneuver around Chrysalis really easily."
"Are you sure?" Uraraka asked him, "I don't want to get Chrysalis's attention. I feel like Ladybug kind of stands out to her the most."
"What do you want me to do? I can't fly around like she can!" Bakugo cried out, "I told Deku that I would keep you away from her."
"Yeah, but I can still handle this," Uraraka said back, "May I remind you that I broke out of HawkMoth's lair all by myself?"
"But that was before Chrysalis had a little bit of your quirk," Jirou pointed out.
"She's right. You need to stick with us," Bakugo said to Uraraka, "We'll get one of Ladybug's teammates to help out or something."
Uraraka looked around the Eiffel Tower for anyone that might be able to help. No one stood out to her that much as she watched her classmates take care of Chrysalis. Then she turned her attention to HawkMoth who was still fighting with some of Ladybug's teammates. One by one, her teammates showed up and tried to pin him down.
Then someone stood out amongst the rest of them.
"Viperion..." Uraraka mumbled.
"What? The guitarist?" Bakugo pointed out.
"Wait, Viperion is the guitarist from the party?" Jirou cried out.
"Yeah. I thought it was pretty obvious," Bakugo said back, "What about him?"
"His power. He can help me out," Uraraka said to them, "He can use his Miraculous like a timer. He can go back in time five minutes from any point he wants to. He can use it as much as he can as long as he doesn't go over the five minute time limit. He's perfect for this kind of thing."
"Whoa. Now that's a Miraculous," Ashido commented.
"That sounds very risky," Bakugo pointed out, "You could still get caught out of the time limit."
"But he's the best chance we've got," Uraraka said to them.
Uraraka could tell that Bakugo was hesitating to get his help in this one. He even looked at her gloves, wondering what to do next.
"Can you still use your quirk through the gloves?" Bakugo asked her.
"Yeah. My quirk is just not as strong when I wear them," Uraraka explained as she showed them off.
"Fine. We'll go get Snake Boy," Bakugo growled out.
Uraraka could finally relax a little, and she looked around for him. They all walked very carefully around Paris, making sure not to get HawkMoth or Chrysalis's attention. They spotted a couple of her teammates flying around using their Miraculous. Ryuko was using her Miraculous to turn herself into lightning to go after HawkMoth. Pegasus was using his Miraculous to teleport HawkMoth out of Paris, but he dodged his attack. Cat Noir went for a cataclysm, but HawkMoth saw it coming and threw him at the others with his invisible grip.
And then Uraraka spotted Viperion.
He was about to take off towards Chrysalis. Without thinking, Uraraka ran after him.
"Uraraka, what the hell are you doing?!" Bakugo cried out, "Get back here!"
Uraraka kept running after him, even when he didn't notice her. She was about to reach him, when he suddenly disappeared right in front of her.
"Huh? Where did he go?" Uraraka asked herself.
She looked all over the place for him, but couldn't find him. In the corner of her eye, she saw someone coming after her. HawkMoth had spotted her running after Viperion.
"I've got you now, Ochaco!" HawkMoth cried out.
Uraraka was about to use her quirk on him, but then felt someone quickly grab her. They quickly ran off with her in their arms and kept going. She slowly opened her eyes when she realized what was going on.
It was Viperion. He had saved her from HawkMoth.
"Vi-Viperion?!" Uraraka cried out, "Bu-But, I saw you just disappear right in front of me!"
"Yeah. I saw it happen just now. I turned around, and HawkMoth took you away," Viperion explained as he ran away with her, "So I used my Miraculous to get a redo."
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock to hear him actually talk about what didn't happen for her. She immediately felt bad for leaving Bakugo behind like that.
"Thank you so much, Viperion," Uraraka said to him, "But, can we go back to Bakugo? He's waiting for us a bit further aways."
"Sure. Just hold on tight," Viperion told her.
Uraraka listened to him and held onto him. As they ran, nothing seemed to change. She was still in his arms and no one came over to attack them. All she could do was wonder what he was going through while using his Miraculous. Soon enough, they finally found Bakugo with Ashido and Jirou with shocked faces. She got out of Viperion's arms and quietly thanked him.
"Uraraka, I can't believe that you just did that!" Bakugo cried out, "I told you not to run off like that!"
"Yeah. HawkMoth almost got you," Ashido cried out, "You're lucky that Viperion showed up like that. He just swooped in like a superhero."
"Actually, he did get me," Uraraka said to them, "Apparently, Viperion went back in time to save me. He saw HawkMoth grab me."
Bakugo, Ashido and Jirou were all speechless to hear her explain what happened.
"Maybe we should have him on our team," Jirou pointed out.
"Team?" Viperion asked.
"Yeah, we need someone to protect Uraraka. She's kind of the key to getting Chrysalis and HawkMoth over to Japan. We're trying to keep her away from them. She's thinks that you would be perfect to have on our team because of your Miraculous," Ashido explained.
"Well, she's not wrong," Viperion said to them with a smile, "My Miraculous is good for that sort of thing. As long as it's within the five minute time limit at least. I have to go recharge though. It's the best way to start this over."
Uraraka looked at Bakugo, and he looked about ready to forget the plan.
"Ugh, fine. But I'm sticking with you," Bakugo said to her, "I'm keeping an eye on you, especially if you're going to run off like that again."
Uraraka smiled and gave him a quick hug. They all led Viperion over to a building further away from the Eiffel Tower. Once the coast was clear, they gave him some space to recharge his Kwami. As they stood there waiting for Viperion to do so, Uraraka glanced up at Bakugo. She noticed that he was sweating quite a bit around his arms. She really was a little suspicious of him still, but she was just glad that he was doing okay so far.
Then Bakugo noticed her looking at him, and she turned away a little too quickly.
"What the hell do you want, Uraraka?" Bakugo asked her.
"Nothing. I just... wanted to know why you've been so secretive lately," Uraraka said back to him.
Bakugo flinched slightly, but she noticed it. She knew he was keeping something from all of them, including her.
"I've just noticed some things that seem... off or suspicious... I don't know what it is exactly, but you clearly are planning something behind my back," Uraraka said to him.
"It's not like that," Bakugo said as he whipped around to face her, "I just... can't tell you or anyone else right now. Not until we defeat Chrysalis and HawkMoth. You just need to trust me on that."
"But what is the plan? Come on, you have to tell me," Uraraka said to him.
"Uraraka, you and I both know that Chrysalis is still out there. She could easily know things that we tried to keep secret, but weren't able to. I can't say anything about it because of that, okay?" Bakugo tried to explain to her.
Uraraka in that moment understood what was going on. He knows something that he can't share because of Chrysalis. He wants to tell her, but he's worried that would ruin his plan. She stepped back and gave him some space.
"Okay, I understand Bakugo," Uraraka said to him, "I won't bother you about it anymore."
Bakugo didn't say anything after that. Uraraka felt really bad that he couldn't talk about it. He wasn't really one to keep all of these secrets all of the time. She could tell how much it bothered him to not say anything about it. At least he still wanted to help out with this mission.
After a long minute of waiting, Viperion finally came out of the shadows, ready to start. Bakugo, Uraraka, Ashido and Jirou stood around him, wondering what to do next.
"Now what?" Jirou asked him.
"Well, I can start the five minute time limit right now," Viperion said to them as he gestured to his Miraculous that was a bracelet in the shape of a snake, "But I'm guessing one of you has a plan."
"Not really. We're just trying to keep Uraraka away from Chrysalis is all," Ashido explained to him, "Unless Bakugo wants to go in the front lines with all of the others."
"No way. Uraraka can't be going over there," Bakugo said back, "She has to stay away from that sort of thing."
"But with Viperion, I totally could," Uraraka argued with him.
Bakugo glared at her with a growl behind it, and Uraraka wasn't afraid to stand up to him.
"You're being really stubborn right now, you know that?" Bakugo growled at her.
"Good. At least someone is," Uraraka growled back, "I need to help out somehow. Izuku is down there, and he shouldn't be there either. I'm not some damsel in distress. I can do this."
Bakugo gave her a glare for so long, that Ashido thought he was broken. After a while, he took a step back and crossed his arms.
"Fine. I'm still sticking with you though," Bakugo said to her, and then turned to Viperion, "You better know what the hell you're doing. This is serious. If they get through to Japan..."
"I understand. She's important to them getting through," Viperion said to him, "She won't get hurt. I'll time it when I say go, okay?"
They all looked at each other and nodded. He twisted his bracelet, calling out Go! There was a sudden flash of light and nothing happened.
"Now what?" Uraraka asked him.
"I can now use this whenever I want to within the time limit," Viperion tried to explain, "I can give us tips and tricks as we go. I should be able to get us closer without anyone getting close to you."
Uraraka was still confused, but went along with it anyway. She gave them the go ahead and let him take over the team. He nodded and started to head over to the Eiffel Tower. They all followed him, with Uraraka right behind him. She kept all eyes on him, but also made sure HawkMoth and Chrysalis were no where near her.
So far, so good.
Then she saw one of Ladybug's teammates going after HawkMoth. They almost got him, but he used his invisible grip on the teammate. Then HawkMoth looked like he was about to spot Uraraka, when Viperion pulled her down under a car. They all followed him and quietly ducked as they walked. As they got closer to the Eiffel Tower, Viperion spotted an akuma coming close to them. He quickly pulled Uraraka away from it and ran for it. Then someone got thrown from HawkMoth, and Viperion ran quickly for it. He climbed on top of a car and caught them.
"Thanks, Viperion. You saved me!" Pigella cried out.
"No problem," Viperion said as he let her go.
Uraraka was impressed. It was weird to her that he was doing so well and not even using his Miraculous. Even the others were confused and impressed at the same time. They caught up with him and kept going. Soon enough, they spotted Chrysalis underneath the Eiffel Tower. They were still pretty far away though.
"Okay, this way," Viperion said to them, "That way leads to you getting spotted by Chrysalis."
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock to hear him say that all of a sudden. Even the others were shocked. They followed close behind him, Uraraka feeling much better for picking him to follow. He soon lead them into someone accidentally losing their Miraculous weapon. Viperion quickly grabbed it before it could fall and gave it to them.
"Here you go, Caprikid," Viperion said to him.
"Thanks Viperion," Caprikid said back with a smile.
"Okay, this guy's good," Ashido complimented.
"He's starting to piss me off," Bakugo growled out.
"He's doing what I asked him to do, Bakugo," Uraraka told him.
"I'm almost out of time. We're going to have to get there quicker," Viperion said to them.
"Already? I thought this would take a long time," Jirou said to him.
"Maybe for me, but not for you guys," Viperion explained to them, "Uraraka's been caught twice and taken twice. You're lucky you asked me to do this."
"What? That's crazy," Ashido said to him.
"Tsk, and I thought this was too easy," Bakugo said to them.
Uraraka elbowed him, and they continued their way over there. With his time limit almost up, they picked up the pace a little bit. They soon found themselves right by the battle going on with Midoriya and his classmates. They were trying to fight off Chrysalis. It looked she was making them float, so they were having trouble getting to her.
"What? How is she using your quirk like that?" Ashido asked Uraraka.
Uraraka looked down at her gloves and noticed that they were glowing. She didn't notice until just now. Then she remembered what she was about to do earlier and thought about trying to do it again. Before she could touch her fingertips however, Bakugo stopped her from doing so.
"What're you doing, Bakugo? I was about to stop her from using my quirk," Uraraka said to him.
"There's no way in hell I'm letting you do that," Bakugo said back, "You'll get caught."
"If I don't, she's going to get her hands on Izuku's Miraculous," Uraraka said to him.
"Then Viperion can do whatever he does with his Miraculous. I can't have you getting caught," Bakugo argued with her.
"I can handle myself, Bakugo. Why won't you just let me do what I am capable of? You know that I can do this," Uraraka argued back.
"I know you can, but Chrysalis has your quirk," Bakugo pointed out, "You have no idea what she might do to you."
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock, realizing that this has nothing to do with him believing in her. This has to do with Chrysalis having a hold of her quirk.
"Your quirk is strong, and with Chrysalis having a hold on it, she could easily win," Bakugo said to them, "You need to be careful around her. Okay?"
Uraraka smiled at him, noticing that he really was looking out for her.
"Guys. My time is up," Viperion said to them.
Then in that moment, Uraraka spotted Chrysalis looking different reaching out for Midoriya's Miraculous. She actually had her hands on it. In a moment of panic, Uraraka tried to deactivate her quirk. Then something came over her, and she suddenly felt nauseous like she was about to throw up. It came at her so fast and so strong that she wasn't expecting it.
"What just happened? Uraraka?" Ashido asked her.
"So-Something's... wrong..." Uraraka said through the nausea, "Chrysalis... she--"
Then something tightened around her, and she tried to use her quirk on it. But it turned out to be HawkMoth's invisible grip around her. She suddenly felt it pull her up and away from the group. Bakugo quickly grabbed her hands and held onto her. Ashido and Jirou held onto him so he wouldn't get pulled up as well. Uraraka felt her grip slip away from him, causing her gloves to slip as well.
"N-No... I-I wo-won't you let you have her..." Bakugo growled out.
HawkMoth's grin widened as he flapped his wings rather harshly, causing a big gust of wind to push them all away from her. Uraraka watched them all slip away from her and before she knew it, she was on the ground. Uraraka found herself face to face with Chrysalis, and she looked different this time around.
Chrysalis's grin grew wide as she showed off her Miraculous.
"You really thought you could deactivate your quirk on me?"
Another amazing chapter!
I am absolutely loving Uraraka right now! I love what I've done for her character and what is about to come out of the next chapter! This whole thing with her quirk is so interesting to write, and what I came up with is basically Zero if no one's noticed! It was when she was akumatized! I love her quirk evolving and what's going on between her and Bakugo. I love them as friends so much, I don't what it is but I love them! Also, Viperion was interesting to write because if someone was going through this, you wouldn't remember any of it. So I took it as just him being this straight up perfect hero if you didn't notice that sort of thing.
Uraraka's gloves are off!!
