Beneath The Waves

Chapter: 8

Harmony commenced to tremble internally as she stepped closer to the freezer. She unbarred it and there her sister's corpse laid. Harmony was flooded by all emotions. She stared at Malie's lifeless vital statistics, her lengthy blonde hair that was dull from the frosty temperature.

Even though Malie's peepers were closed, Harmony still could remember the color gray that sparkled when her sister would get excited. She continued to study her sister's body and saw the ice crystals were completely all over her anatomy.

Harmony steadied herself against the hard, cold appliance. Consequently, she softly whispered as the tears leaked from her optics.

"I can't believe you're really gone!"

At Harmony's consultation, Sam and Dean scampered by her side. They considered her pain and only wished they could do something to ease it. Dean wrapped his arm around her shoulder. She whirled into him, as a form of a hug. In a low intonation, he said in her ear.

"I am so sorry."

"Our condolences, Harmony. What was her name?" Sam asked.

"Malie."

"Pretty name," Sam commented.

"Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it. We can't abandon her here, please! She desired to be at my people's ultimate cessation site." Harmony stated.

"I agree. I'm guessing that's the ocean's floor?" Sam questioned, while Dean nodded.

"Yes."

"Let's get work," Dean advised.

Sam hunted for a type of drape to cover Malie's physical structure with. All he found was an old blanket. It was barely the correct width. Nonetheless, it would have to do. Next, he scooped the dead flesh and bones up and headed enroute the exit; succeeding by Dean and Harmony behind him. Subsequently, the sight of the Impala was close by, they climbed inside. Sam was very discreet to put Harmony's sister in the backseat of the car.

Minutes elapsed and they had arrived near the shore. Sam and Dean departed at the identical interval, while Harmony lingered with her sister's form.

Dean opened Harmony's door and lifted her up, carefully. Sam went on the other side and effortlessly picked up Malie's frame. Thereupon, they aimed at the water.

"Please help me into the water, Dean." Harmony instructed. As he did this action, Sam placed Malie parallel to Harmony.

"You sure you wish to do this, alone?" Dean queried.

"I have to." Harmony responded. She shut her eyes and in a blue luminosity, her tail appeared.

The boys had a sad expression on their visage, hiding it was impossible. Harmony peeked at them and verbalized.

"Don't worry. I will be back. I promise. And there's more for you to know about my kind. It may assist in the future as a reference."

"It would," Sam agreed.

Harmony obtained hold of her sister's skeleton and advanced into the sea, where she made a huge splash. It was refreshing to be in the ocean. Instantly all her cuts healed. Before Harmony veered further on, she traveled to the upper level. Lastly, she'd spotted the boys. In doing so, Harmony waved at them. Thus, she leaped into the air and back into the waves, in the direction to collect her sister. The last thing shown topside was her fins making a 'flop' sound into the moana.

"You think she will be back?" Dean inquired.

"I hope so... It would be interesting to understand more of her world," Sam mentioned.

"Yeah, I guess so."

The Winchesters evacuated to the Impala and situated themselves inwards. Dean switched on the ignition, except he hesitated.

Sam perceived this mechanism and urged. "Should we leave or wait?"

Dean didn't mutter a sentence, for a good while. Finally, he riposted with.

"Let's hang here for a bit."

Dean and Sam were on the vantage point. Deep down they both had a hunch that Clay would revert. If so, Harmony would require their aid. Dean fetched a bag from behind the seat and produced duplet slices of pie and a beer for each of them.

"Want this?" Dean implored.

"Sure." Sam answered.

While in abide, Sam had done some research. Some he already registered and some he didn't. What got his attention was the Goddess he read. Atargatis, a Goddess transformed herself into a mermaid, because she accidentally killed her human lover. It read on, Mermaids are sometimes associated with perilous events, like floods, storms, etc. Mainly, their tails were used for many things. Conversely, fame and riches was the most common factor desired.

'Why would Clay eliminate them, when he could get more money if they were subsisting?' Sam pondered.

Surprisingly, Sam was startled by Dean exhorting.

"You suspect Clay will return to finish what he started?"

"Hmm," Sam vocalized.

"Hmm? What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Dean challenged.

"Yeah, Dean-I surmise he will," Sam asserted.

"That's what I am afraid of."

After being in the briny for so long, Harmony felt so alive. She swam more abyssally to the ocean's floor and to the venue. The residence where her sister told her to lay her at peace, if anything happened to her.

Harmony stationed her palm against the underwater ledges. She glanced at its slimy, shiny terrain and at the faded drawings. Mallie and herself drew these when they were kids- such enthralling memories. Once the hole was dug by using the right size rock, and the floating sand had settled. Harmony planted her sister's mortal part gently into the ground. Followed by the dirt and then stones on top of the grave. She established the concretion on the burial uneven to make it subtle. Harmony visualized the tiny pieces of rubble from the cliffs that over duration would topple; causing it to make it more of a natural landscape.

Harmony gazed up towards the surface, where the tides would crash. She deliberated how two creations could be so different, but similar at the same stage. Harmony sensed it was getting late, the boys would be in wonder where she's at. She was very thankful for them; they had treated her like family.

As Harmony materialized from being down below, she could hear moaning from a small boat. She knew it couldn't be Dean and Sam, for they would stall on her to revisit, and besides they didn't have a boat.

Another thought crept in her mind, 'What if he...NO!' Harmony watched the dark figure, head farther away from her. She needed to skedaddle and FAST!

All of the sudden, something drab attained on top of her, and snuggled serriedly. It began to drag her quickly upward.

The hours passed, since Sam and Dean had been on surveillance. Each would nod off in the sitting up position; both jerking back awake and falling asleep again. However, when Sam dozed and stirred at the culminating juncture, he glimpsed a light bouncing off the water, something he hadn't seen earlier.

'Harmony!' Sam cogitated.

Urgently, Sam woke Dean up by giving him a brisk shake.

"Hmm? What's- I'm up," Dean replied from slumber.

"LOOK!" Sam reported and illustrated with his forefinger at the boat. Which was in the comparable location that Harmony took.

Dean didn't say a word, just did as directed. Despite that, Sam requested. "Dean, you don't believe-"

"Yeah, Sammy I do. He's chasing her. Harmony is in trouble!"

Later on, the boys had 'borrowed' a yacht and reached where the distinctive boat anchored. As they expected, it was indeed Clay's. Sam and Dean noticed he was up to something by the evilness on his face.

Harmony emerged from the water, yet ceased midair, and partially in the seaway.

'Dumb fishing net!' She mentated, hastily.

By and by, Clay came into her view.

"You presume you would get away that easily? Did you, Sugar?" Clay disclosed.

Harmony cussed at herself. She comprehends now that the boys would assume she lied on coming back.

'Great, I'm doomed!' She scrutinized.

In addition, she heard a noise imminenting rapidly at them. Harmony squinted her orbs to observe closely, her heart almost skipped a beat. Clay mocked her maneuver and grew angrily.

"Time to go, Sugar!" He conveyed in a rushed voice, as he realized who it was.

Abruptly, the thumped racket creek across the ship's boards. Clay and Harmony wheeled to the clatter. Dean stood in front of them.

In a swift movement, Dean had punched Clay into the cold, abundant liquid. Where something anticipated transpired.
