Chapter 7
Battles
Omnimon would let out a low hum as he observed Avani's newest digivolution, "As expected. Eyesmon solves the clog issue, but not the randomization issue."
Avani looked herself over, now resembling a woman with cat-like blue eyes and over-sized hands. There was a smile on her face she couldn't get rid of and could only turn into a sharp toothed grin while she blinked, as short orange-blonde hair barely held up a red hat that was similar to a traditional witch's hat that seemed to want to fall off at any second, with the golden ring at its tip seemingly not helping although the golden symbol like that of a cat on the base of the rim likely helped to counterbalance it. Her body was clad in a tight red dress and large gloves for her oversized hands, covered with various zippers and her torso in belts, a black cape flowed behind her, pinned to her chest by a false eye. A pair of oversized black boots could be seen emerging from the bottom of her dress. The belt around her thighs held an odd broom holder, of which Avani was currently floating and balanced on said household tool.
"A witchmon this time?" Avani would mumble to herself as she looked herself over again, "I'm not sure how to handle changing into something different each time."
"Which is why I'm taking your training into my own claws," Omnimon would state to Avani and the on standby Cecilia, both who would look up at him, "You will have to master more than combat skills with the variance you now face."
"Um... Like studying?" Cecilia would ask.
"Exactly. I'm going to have to ensure you know the potential forms Avani can take and how to react especially if the change causes... Behavioral issues, although Avani's training will remain much the same: strategies outside the basic combat knowledge a digimon receives on completing their digivolution in the case of unwinnable battles, unknown foes, the rapid destruction of terrain, army-based combat, and similar non-dual based roles."
"Just as I thought I was getting away from school," Cecilia mumbled under her breath as she looked downward.
"One is never old enough to stop learning," Omnimon would reply to her statement, his superior hearing allowing him to hear her, "Value the knowledge you hold, for one day you may be the last to know it."
Avani would accidentally flip herself over and began flailing as she failed to regain her original balance, the broom holding her in the air as she hit her head on the ground multiple times before groaning as she then finally managed to flip herself back over.
Alizee, still present as kazemon, stated, "Um... I'm not sure a spar method will work?"
"It is unfortunate, but she will spar against you as witchmon. In the field, luck is not likely to be on her side, and she will have to use what she can to win. A spar against you will be perfect practice."
Alizee would merely nod with a slight frown as Omnimon began to lead them out, "Shall we prepare then? I have an ideal space for the two of you to spar."
…...
Darkdramon bellowed as he launched himself at the now transformed Coro in a blur of speed that Arshan's eyes couldn't keep up with.
The apollomon pushed his human partner away, the digimon that had accompanied him and Coro yanking him and dragging him to the on stand-by army as the lump in his throat kept him from really saying anything.
Coro had a smile on his face however as he took a heavy step right, flames engulfing his left arm as he let the lance his foe wielded scrape over his pauldrons, only for his fist to be caught by Darkdramon as he swung to hit his foes gut. The cyborg activating his boosters and slamming into Coro with enough force to completely shatter the earth they stood upon, the apollomon gritting his teeth as Darkdramon pulled his lance back to impale Coro as they moved.
The initial shock factor was fast to wear off, Coro pushing Darkdramon by the shoulder to his right, the gigastick lance scraping along armor once again and the dragon losing his grip on the sun god digimon. Flying right past him and allowing Coro to regain his footing as he observed the cyborg having to take his time to slow down and turn to face him again, a plan beginning to form in the apollomon's mind as he took his foes apparent attraction for rushing the foe like a jousting knight into account.
This would be all down to timing.
The second rush came, Coro emulated his first steps to pull his approaching foe into a false sense of security in repeating the move. Darkdramon's speed tearing the dust and ash up before him as he closed in on the apollomon yet again, Coro's movements suddenly twisting to slam down on top of the gigastick lance and pushing it downward. Darkdramon's moment carrying him down into the earth as Coro pushed himself just to the right of the attack, only to stumble as the force further damaged the ground. Massive cracks emerging from the earth for several meters from the strength of the attack as Darkdramon growled, yanking his lance out to attempt to meet Coro's incoming blow.
In those few seconds of being stuck however, Coro's fist glowed with the flames of the sun and came down, the cyborg now too late to block the blow as hand met helm, the glass V that protected part of Darkdramon's head cracking from the burst of pure flame that exploded around Coro's hand as he was sent careening backwards from the blow as Coro yelled, "Foibos blow!"
Darkdramon's movement backward had stemmed the power of the blow somewhat, but the sheer amount of heat from the blow had heavily cracked and distorted the glass of his of his helm, getting a growl from him only for a loud explosion to come from behind the troops Darkdramon commanded. He attention turning to it for a moment, which would have allowed Coro to get another solid blow in as Darkdramon's line turned to face behind them where their allies were suddenly being ambushed by an army that had climbed the sides of the fresh canyons that surrounded their camp.
Coro did not take advantage of Darkdramon's distraction however, the cyborg noting this and looking to him, "You're still as honorable as the tales said, even on the side of the lords of sin."
"They're not so bad," Coro's smile hadn't faded from the start of the fight to the current moment as he took his stance again to continue their fight, "Maybe a bit rough is all."
Darkdramon would nod as Coro took his stance, making a signal for his soldiers to maintain their current position despite the new fight that was starting behind them before taking a deep breath as his boosters activated once again, launching him with sudden speed once more.
The cyborg dragon went low this time, only to be met with Coro flipping himself over and slamming downwards into Darkdramon's back, pushing him directly into the earth this time as he pumped heat into his body. Attempting to begin melting through the armor and cybernetics that coated Darkdramon, only for the 'eyes' on the gigastick lance to glow, firing off a blast of energy that caused Coro to stop moving, Darkdramon throwing him off of him with enough force to launch him several dozen meters away.
Darkdramon pushed himself up quickly, well aware that Coro had already landed on his feet as his gigastick lance's terrible gaze would only last a few seconds at most on a foe like Coro. Only to be met with the apollomon going on the assault now as a flame coated punch met his abdomen, getting a gag from the dragon before he barely parried the next one then retaliated with a jab of his lance, scraping Coro's side who winced as it managed to pierce armor this time.
Darkdramon pulled back again as a dark energy covered his lance, the dragon digimon growling lowly as he attempted to stab directly into Coro's core, "Demon stab!"
Coro recognized there was no dodging the blow this close, but opted to make it a two way street as he moved over. Allowing it to re-pierce his fresh wound and expand it painfully, only for him to roar as he grabbed Darkdramon's head, "Arrow of Apollo!"
Arrows of pure flame formed and emerged at point blank, scorching Darkdramon's head with a roar, blowing his helm up with heat as the dragon pulled his lance out and used his boosters to force the apollomon away from him.
He landed and quickly tore the molten glass and metal from his head to prevent worsening damage, tearing away already scarred flesh and giving sight to the being underneath it all that resembled a heavily disfigured tankdramon, a calm rage starting to fill his now revealed ruby red eyes as he faced Coro.
The apollomon still had that grin on his face, even as he reached a hand down to check the size of the hole in his side, with data now flowing from it heavily. Coro would mumble to himself, "Definitely stronger than I thought..."
Darkdramon growled as his boosters began to fire up again, Coro's smile cracking slightly as he recognized that even if Darkdramon missed his core, enough holes in his body from the gigastick lance and that was it for him. He needed to end this quickly, rather than drawing it out.
"Coro!"
Coro's eyes could only glance at Arshan a distance away before he dived to the left to dodge Darkdramon's charge. The dragon boosting up and over to come flying back down at him to slam into the earth, the Apollomon rolling out of the way before flipping back onto his feet.
Arshan was shuddering in fear for Coro as he waved his arms to try and signal his plan to his partner. The obviousness of it not working causing him to yell something only he and Coro would understand, "Think of him like a baseball, Coro!"
This would get a glance of confusion from nearly every digimon around him, which caused his sense of nervousness and fear to wash over the boy and have him look at the ground.
Coro's smile turned into a grin however from those words, "Like a baseball huh? Just need a bat then..."
He leapt over Darkdramon on his next fly through, reaching a hand backwards to grab one the jutting pieces of his own armor, leaving the orb that floated above his head looking rather awkward as he tore it away, using his fire arrows to melt it and mold it into a blunt form, "BZ is definitely going to get a laugh out of this."
Darkdramon's eyes narrowed as he closed in on his foe, suspecting that perhaps he sought to meet his gigastick lance with a weapon of his own? A foolish thought if so, and as such Darkdramon flew at his foe at full speed, unaware of his foe's undigimon-like strategy.
Coro's grin broadened as Darkdramon's lance came close, the sun digimon digging his right foot into the ground and twisting his torso around as the lances fine point missed his side by millimeters. His muscular arms gripping the false bat tightly as he then swung and smashed Darkdramon with it. Darkdramon's momentum forward tearing up his chest armor as the half molten bat melted in with his top set of boosters base. Ruining his speed advantage in a single go through as Coro stumbled backwards while Darkdramon crashed into the earth and he deactivated his bottom boosters, his stability ruined as he stood with a growl. His eyes looking down at his ruined chest armor, the cybernetics that coated his decayed body acting as a buffer that the cooling metal didn't harm his digicore directly despite disabling his boosters.
Was that deliberate or just lucky? Either way, it was his poor guessing of his foes actions that had seen him crash land.
Coro would yell out to his partner as he turned to face Darkdramon, "I think that's a smash hit, Arshan!"
Arshan yelled in response as his fears began to be replaced by a bit of confidence now that Darkdramon's speed was gone, "A-A definite home run, Coro!"
His primary advantage gone, Darkdramon recognized his foe would likely be the superior close range combatant now, and as such, that meant he had two options that had a high chance of victory still. One of which came with a risk for his own being as well.
He chose that option as he opened his maw and bits of dark matter began to appear in his maw, a ball of darkness quickly beginning to gain mass, floating a bit outside of his jaws as it grew larger and larger.
Coro saw this, but instead of having any sense of fear instead said, "Oh! Oh! I've wanted to have a moment like this for a while now!"
Darkdramon raised a brow, unable to respond as he charged the orb as he observed the sphere of flame that floated above Coro's head begin to produce flares that flowed above far above the battlefield, quickly swirling together to form the beginning of a massive ball of flame that resembled a miniature sun, and the heat radiating from it certainly seemed to indicate it was in fact one.
So that was what he desired, a clash of wills through their strongest attacks.
Darkdramon briefly felt a hint that he had already lost, and subtly he knew that already sealed his fate in the face of a foe having fun and who seemed to know he had won.
As both sets of sphere began to envelop their battlefield, turning the dust and ash to molten rock and shards of glass, their armies setting up defensive barriers to defend from the worst damages as both of them roared the names of their attacks.
"Dark roar!"
"Solblaster!"
…..
Examon growled as data flowed from the stump that had once been the end half of his tail, staring down the foe that now dwarfed his size.
Leviamon's mass was now easily double that of Examon, a result of decompressing his data rapidly to grab Examon from the air and slam him to the earth before he could fly up and ruin the demon lords plans. The crocodilian digimons massive jaw held a colossal grin as he faced down the royal knight, both their shadows coating the battlefield. Subtly, one could see his size was still increasing, an implication that Leviamon indeed had become the data devouring leviathan the digital world feared so much, and that his true size was absolutely monstrous.
Both of them observed the explosion of black and orange on the horizon within the peripherals of their vision, Leviamon being the first to speak, "Seems Darkdramon is out of the picture now."
Examon didn't respond to the demon lord as he gripped his lance tighter, wary of his ever growing opponent.
"Not in the mood to talk today, Examon? Last we spoke, you kept speaking how you'd always defeat me when I escaped the abyss," Leviamon's eyes narrowed to mock the dragon, "Seems you don't feel as strongly about that while your allies are being beaten so thoroughly."
Examon growled before aiming his lance at Leviamon, "You really ought to learn to speak less."
Seeing he wasn't going to get any amusement from the royal knight, Leviamon's smile faded, "Boring as ever, you knights."
"Your size matters not, by the time we are through battling, you will beg for mercy, Leviamon."
The demon lord of envy growled before firing at Examon with surprising speed, digging his claws into the ground and spinning to smash the dragon with his tails. Examon's chrome digizoid clad wings closing around him to protect him from the monster's blows before he emerged with his lance ready to pierce Leviamon. The demon lord displaying surprising flexibility as he bent back and used his long head to catch the lance in his jaw. Leaving them both in an awkward position as Examon growled and decided to fire everything in his lance anyways...
"Fair job, Leviamon," Examon would suddenly find himself slammed down onto from above by the mechanical dragon EXO-Grimmon, who impaled his talons into the softer body scales of Examon, who roared and withdrew his lance from Leviamon's maw to try and remove the ambusher.
"Chrono DSR."
EXO-Grimmon's voice was monotone as a gaseous substance flowed from his hands into Examon, whose body began to blacken. The dragon emperor resisting the effect of whatever trick his ambushing enemy was attempting to execute.
Leviamon suddenly closed in however as he twisted his head to bite Examon sideways, teeth crunching into and managing to crack the great dragon's wings.
Leviamon held down, slowly crushing through the great wings of the dragon as Examon attempted to remove EXO-Grimmon from his back and failed, the damage being inflicted by Leviamon's vice-grip and the bizarre nature of EXO-Grimmon's attack rapidly wearing him down.
It was no fight, but an assassination.
As Examon's body began to glow and break down, the lord of dramon's realized what was happening, and a plan quickly entered his head. He knew he was not going to escape this battle as himself, but there was still a way to get the news back to the other knights about his failure. A desperate answer that the two lives within him would have to execute.
Two digicores erupted from Examon's body, his massive form exploding into white colored data as Leviamon's jaws crashed together with an ear-deafening snap. Across the battlefield, troops would see the sudden loss of their leader, and with it, many of them lost their morale as well in the face of the strongest weapon of the knights failing. Many falling immediately or surrendering from grief, even some of the knightmon collapsing before the apparent loss of Examon.
Leviamon however, was much less satisfied as he observed the silhouette of a white armor clad dragon appear before the other digicore formed, who then threw it with all her might away from the battlefield before Grimmon or Leviamon could act.
"A selfless and honorable act," EXO-Grimmon would state as his foe landed on the ground alongside him, "If somewhat pointless."
"The one my heart is bound to will not be so easily caught outside the field of battle," the white clad knight said as her orange eyes focused on EXO-Grimmon. Dark green cape flowing behind her as she stabbed a massive orange greatsword into the ground.
Her details were unfinished, as though all her data was not present, likely injected into the other digicore she had thrown as Leviamon loomed over her and she closed her eyes. Aware she had no chance to win against this foe on her own.
"My role means little now, but the role of Examon is not yet finished," she would speak, "You have only temporarily removed him from the field."
"Temporary is all that is needed as Jesmon and Gankoomon fall as well," EXO-Grimmon responded, getting her to open her eyes again and look, wanting to respond again only to find the darkness of the leviathan's jaws coming down upon her. The shadow of the abyss now facing her very existence.
"I can only hope the others survive one way or another..."
…...
Far to the south of Examon's removal, but far north of where Gankoomon fell to Barbamon and Belphemon. The third field to see battle close the circle further around Yggdrasil's castle raged.
Jesmon flew back from his foe's touch as his rib-cage-like chest heaved with every breath. His blade-like legs impaled the ground as he took a moment to catch his breath, his mechanical tail swaying heavily behind him as the blade floated warily in-case a foe from the battle raging on the plain around him and his enemy moved to close in on them. The red cape he was ever so proud of, an item of his time as the meek Huckmon, had been decayed and torn, only a bit of its flow and the hood remaining, his helm-like head had a large crack across it, the only true wound he had taken in the battle surrounding them. The blades on his arms remained unsheathed as he clenched his claws, his golden eyes narrowing at his opponent as she spoke.
"Perhaps you wouldn't question surrender at this point, Jesmon?"
Her appearance was human at first glance, but it would take no more than a second to acknowledge the black bat-like wings bursting from her back, pointed ears like an elf, and a devils horns bursting from her short, silky black hair. Which had its middle section pulled up and over, held by a comb and several extravagant decorations and pins. Her body was an hourglass in shape, clad in an exotic outfit that exposed the top of her notable bosom and held tight to her thin waist and wide hips. Gold lining decorated the black primary portions of her cloth, with golden plating covering her knees with it opening again at the toes and exposing notably sharp nails. Two crisscrossed belts held the dark purple waist-dress that hid most of her lower half, ribbons that seemed to have life of their own flowing off and stretching to scratch the earth while looking for a foe. Detached sleeves of black coloration hid much of her arms, one human and with long nails but the other a golden gauntlet that let off an aura not of death, but of pure annihilation. Her M-shaped bangs did little to hide her beautiful face, with a mixture of soft and sharp features that aided her beauty. Purple eye shadow causing her blue eyes to shine with pride as her purple-covered lips curved into a mocking smile of knowing.
Yet notably, it seemed something was missing from her, a mark that should be obvious absent from her form.
"I apologize, but I'll have to decline your ever so generous offer, Lilithmon," Jesmon's reply was monotone, hiding the worry that he should perhaps accept her offer.
"Unfortunate, then I suppose we'll continue our dance until your army is but dust."
Jesmon grit his teeth under his helm, she was right, he and Lilithmon could fight all day, but the same could not be said for the small army of knightmon he settled with to defend the border. He had a caught a glimpse before the battle started, signs of the king of bugs and of the recent traitor to the celestial armies. Which meant swarms of enemies that had no care for their own lives as long as they took their foes with them into the cycle. The presence of Lilithmon, and of the demon lord of wrath, was just an additional step of worsening the situation for all his forces.
Internally however, Jesmon wasn't as worried for his own men as much as he was for his mentor far to his south. The first Jesmon of the Royal Knights unaware the fate of his mentor had already come to pass.
He would be brought back to the moment from his thoughts as he parried Lilithmon's gauntlet with one of his blades, the demon lord simply ducking to dodge a stab from Jesmon's tail before dancing to the side to avoid his other blade. Lilithmon quickly moved backwards while drawing a circle in the air, green energy filling it as a symbol with four prongs on one side and one on the other appeared. Lilithmon made a kissing motion before a burst of corroding essence firing from it at Jesmon, who simply boosted himself upwards and over it. The knight launching downward at her, only for her to gracefully move away again, her small size compared to Jesmon allowing her to evade him while his superior agility let him avoid her corroding hand.
They both knew their fight was a stalemate, but they also both knew that the moment either of them moved away to aid their armies was the moment they could slay each other.
Jesmon knew the knightmon that were his allies were stubborn enough they wouldn't retreat on their own, and he knew Lilithmon would surely impale her talons into him if he took the moment to fire off a retreat signal. That nail did not damage but completely annihilated data, and if there was nothing to rewrite, there would be no coming back.
A painful state to be in, to say the least.
What would Gankoomon say if he were here?
He'd be ashamed that Jesmon was even thinking in terms of loss, no, he needed to think in terms of victory!
Atho, Por, and Rene were within him still, aiding his defenses against Lilithmon. He couldn't send them out without causing their quick demises, or his own, of which they would then cease existence as well.
He dodged another blow from Lilithmon, who's smile was too confident. Jesmon going completely on the defensive as he thought of plan after plan to try and counter this attack. Every idea he thought of resulting in his own demise and the survivors afterwards.
Was there no hope for his allies? Could he only save himself? It was pathetic if so...
"Lilithmon!"
Jesmon's eyes looked past her and widened as Lilithmon froze up, "A human and paledramon...?"
The girl couldn't have been more than ten or eleven years old. Her hair was thick and in a mid-shoulder ponytail held by a feather hairpin as a few locks fell over her face, its color almost white with only a slight hint of blonde within it. She was only a few inches over four feet and obviously had room to grow still. She seemed to have vitiligo, as her skin was incredibly pale but not quite totally missing melanin, although her eyes were burgundy-red. Her build was willowy but strong, like someone who ran constantly. She was dressed in a light brown camo pattered jacket, with a forest-green shirt underneath, simple dark-blue jeans with a orange belt, and black boots. One could just barely make the last bits of her outfit being fingerless brown gloves and a black leather necklace with a purple stone embedded in it. On her back was a black and dark green backpack.
Behind her was a several feet taller draconic digimon that seemed partially made out of ice. A mane of white covered his torso, with a layer of dark blue scales under that, his neck, lower jaw, and pelvis covered in them. His head, limbs, and membraneless wings seemed entirely made out of ice except for the dark blue claws that emerged from them. A thin cold mist emerged from his mouth as he ran, he pinkish-red eyes filled with concern for Aurelia as he yelled ahead, "I apologize, Lady Lilithmon! She insisted we be here!"
Lilithmon did not turn to face the duo, a scowl hitting her face as she suddenly laser focused on Jesmon, her claw aimed at his face only to stop just short as the knight readied to dodge again, "Flee now, or I will single handily annihilate every last one of your troops."
Her voice was half-plea, half-threat, but Jesmon saw the advantage he now had through that, the girl's arrival had just become his saving grace, "Call your troops off and I'll do it."
Lilithmon answered with venom, "Fine. But I can not guarantee anything from Daemon."
Jesmon glanced at the girl again before floating away slowly, ensuring that Lilithmon would not backstab him before flying off in a burst to coordinate his allies retreat.
Lilithmon watched him go as she raised her talon and fired off a powerful burst of green that would signal to stop attacking to her own forces before turning and facing the girl, who was now standing before her.
Lilithmon got on her knees to be on the girls level, speaking with a much softer voice now, "Aurelia. Why did you not listen to me?"
"I wanted to make sure you were okay is all... Some of Daemon's commanders were saying how Jesmon was going to kill you with his rewrite ability."
Lilithmon made a subtle note to visit those individuals later as she used her non-gauntlet hand to move Aurelia's bangs, "Jesmon is strong, but he is not that strong."
She then checked Aurelia over for wounds, the girl flushing slightly as Lilithmon checked her over, "I-I'm fine, Lilithmon."
"You're fine when I say so, Aura. I do not wish to repeat the triceramon incident when your curiosity drew you towards their herd."
Lilithmon looked to the paledramon, "Alph."
The ice dragon spoke with a formal tone, "Yes ma'am. I am quite well, Tyrant Kabuterimon's forces covered us quite well. I had hoped to run into Rosemon on the way here, but well... Battle is chaotic as always."
Lilithmon sighed, "I know the both of you worry for me when I battle those like the knights, but I assure you I am more than capable of handling such foes on my own. And while I appreciate the loyalty you show, I worry far more for you two when you involve yourselves like this. Especially since Alph has not yet displayed the ability to progress beyond champion level while we face armies of those of the ultimate level or worse."
"I... Understand, Lilithmon, but to be honest, you, Alph, and Rosemon are the only ones I-"
"Lilithmon," a cloaked figure would float down behind the trio, glowing purple orbs glaring down the human, who's throat tightened up to stop her from speaking in the presence of the wrathful one. An immediate sense of caution and perceptiveness coating her form as Alph got slightly more protective.
His robe was mostly blood red in coloration, with a pentagram on the front of the hood. Two monstrous horns bursting from the sides of it. Two bands that held his sleeves tightly also bore the pentagram, while the white colored rims of his robe were decorated with eye-like symbols. Around his neck was an odd amulet that seemed to hide some sort of truth, swinging over the second part of his robe that was layered over the main section, the triangular black cloth decorated with green eyes that connected to yet another pentagram at the bottom. The massive pair of wings that emerged from his back seemed less like a bats, and more like someone had mixed limb with wing. It was a disturbing combination as the purple membrane folded closed with the black covered bones, the hand-like claws in the middle flexing as it closed and seemed to disappear into his back. The very dirt he stepped on seemed to recoil in his presence, as though his hatred extended to that as well.
"You let your concern for the human allow Jesmon the opportunity to escape. Her life is not worth as much as destroying his," his voice boomed, deep and hate filled. There was nothing charismatic about this individual, who was filled with an obvious desire for some unknown revenge.
"It matters not, Daemon, he flees like a dog alongside his remaining knights," Lilithmon stepped protectively in front of Aurelia as Alph covered one side.
Daemon, despite his stature appearing shorter than Lilithmon in his cloak, seemed to loom over the trio, his eyes staring all three down.
Aurelia however would feel his eyes settle into hers, a sense of fear beginning to overwhelm her usual self. She did not show this however, a feeling that she had dealt with someone like Daemon before coating her form as she maintained a tough composure, and not to mention the two who were willing to defend her from him if he attempted anything.
Daemon would then step away with a growl, preferring to let his subtle threat sink in, "As you wish then. It would seem the loss of your mark of evil has indeed affected your personality, Lilithmon, but the same goes for him. Know I only follow his plans because of what it offers me, and if it comes the time that you no longer align with that..."
He aimed a hand at a running group of knightmon in the distance, barely visible from where they stood, of which the knight digimon were clearly confused why Lilithmon's forces were not pursuing as they went.
"Chaos flare."
His flames were cruel as they suddenly appeared among that group of knightmon, rotting their data with corrupted flames as black data ate away their bodies. Subtly adding their bases to Daemon's own data-based flesh and blood.
"You're a villain as always, Daemon," Lilithmon replied coldly.
"Take it for what it means, Lilithmon. An example of execution. I will kill your precious girl and her partner should you step too far away from our goals."
"You should have more faith in your fellow lords, Daemon."
"I have no faith in anything, much less you. Nothing will change that," Daemon's wings would flap as he began to fly away, "Remember where we are to meet now that our role here is done, Lilithmon."
As the lord of wrath left, Aurelia would mutter, "With allies like him, who needs enemies..."
"... Perhaps you are correct, Aura," Lilithmon would respond, "But perhaps he is right about myself as well..."
She would feel Aurelia take her human hand, "Maybe. Or maybe he's wrong, and the absence of that mark was for the better."
Lilithmon looked down at the human she had picked to be her chosen, and offered a genuine smile that could only be built up over a months built relationship. One that very few likely observed, and one that only those few would be allowed to see, "Maybe so... And know that I nor Alph will let him touch a hair on your head."
Authors note
I'd first like to apologize for no chapter last week, as I spent most of it bedridden, and fell behind on basically everything from this to work. I planned on finishing this chapter and posting on Saturday or Sunday, but realized that's probably a bad idea since I wouldn't be able to get another chapter out by Wednesday. I'm still struggling to catch up on work, so we might have a day delay next week as well, but after that we should be able to jump back on the usual schedule. So apologies again for the mess.
This chapter is also a little short and probably not as up to quality, which is bad on me, so I apologize again.
Random fact btw. Lilithmon's mark of evil is the bat on her forehead, this Lilithmon is missing that mark. I feel that might be something too obscure beyond Daemon's mention of it.
Weirdly enough, I was looking at Daemon's cloaked form, and I didn't realize how many times he's changed palettes through the years.
I was going to try and get the final two introductions in this chapter, but our final boy had one last change to be made. As of next chapter, all our human characters and their partners will be introduced. It'll be the first all DL chosen on screen scene rather than them getting brief bursts of dialogue.
I'll try to catch up on reviews and post responses next chapter.
Quick edit: Aurelia is owned by ShadowWolf223. I'm so sorry I forgot to give the credit. I really am off my usual game.
