THERE WAS NO denying Malachi's pent-up frustration and anger, and the only things that appeared to put an end to his deadly intentions were torture and sex. Over the last few days, he had alternated between the two.
Lila heard the poor girl screaming as she walked up to the door of his bedroom in the house they were currently renting. She wasn't sure if the girl was screaming out of pure joy or pain, but knowing her leader, she was probably screaming out of both.
She knew that the timing of her arrival was far from ideal, but the consequences of not delivering this imperative news on time were far more severe than interrupting Malachi's sexual escapades.
With a tepid knock on the door, Lila waited anxiously. Moments later, she heard shuffling from the other side, followed by Malachi's impatient voice. "What is it?" He shouted.
"I've got news sir as you requested," Lila yelled through the barrier.
"What are you waiting for, then? He yelled, "Get your ass in here." Malachi pulled his lengthy cock out of the brunette's ass, just as Lila opened the door, spanking her on the butt he told her to wash up in the bathroom. "I haven't finished with you yet." He said while licking his lower lip.
She rushed away happy for the reprieve, as he seemed voracious since he used her body for several hours straight.
He stood there, his erect member protruding, the vestiges of his recent alliance hastily thrown on his bed, the aroma of their tryst lingering heavily in the air. Lila couldn't help but stare at him as she yearned to please him but knew he would never consider it.
"Stop staring at my cock and tell me what you've learned, unless you intend to suck me dry." Malachi yelled, agitated that he had to stop fucking the tight brunette he met at the bar last night.
Embarrassed, she raises her gaze to meet his. Considering the routes she had to take to find the information, she was happy and relieved that she had discovered the news rather quickly, but she was also anxious about how he would react. Fumbling Lila started "Um, well there's good news and bad news."
"Lila, please spit it out already for fuck's sake". He urged.
"I discovered who our interlopers are." She paused for emphasis and waited for him to say anything, but all he did was stare at her with an irritated hurry-up expression on his face. "They are the Bennetts from New Orleans, specifically as in THE Bennett family from Qetsiyah's bloodline."
"FUCK!" Malachi roared. With every furious step, his dick swung like a sword as the new development hit him like a sledgehammer. "How could this be? I assumed they were all gone," he said aloud. He stopped pacing and turned to run his fingers through his messy hair as Lila cleared her throat. The sound made him realize she was still there, he looked up from his pacing and ran his fingers through his messy hair. "Leave!" he yelled.
"But - " Lila started.
"I said get the fuck out!" Malachi commanded.
Lila retreated from the room, leaving her enraged mentor behind. She realized that the Bennett family's involvement could jeopardize everything they had worked towards, and the consequences could be catastrophic.
Malachi remained alone in the room, furious by this latest challenge. "This complicates things," he muttered to himself.
His screams and the distant sounds of breaking glass reverberated throughout the house, serving as a chilling reminder of the dangerous path they were on.
Lila inhaled deeply to calm her nerves. She needed to find a way to appease Malachi and assure him that they could deal with this unexpected threat. It was clear Malachi's anger had manifested in a destructive way and she needed to tread carefully and find a solution to this newfound problem before things got even more chaotic.
As time went on and their mother and Finn's whereabouts remained unknown, the atmosphere inside the estate grew more and more unbearable. Klaus's siblings were frustrated by his seemingly absentmindedness and preoccupied thinking, as he appeared to be focused on other significant concerns.
Klaus appeared unaware of his siblings' growing annoyance as he lost himself scouring in his old grimoires. With his arms crossed and an air of firm resolve, Elijah stood in the doorway.
"Niklaus, we can't keep ignoring the fact that mother and Finn are still missing. It's been a week. We need to find them."
Kol, entering the room with a fiery demeanor, added, "For once I agree with Elijah, we don't have time to waste."
Rebekah, her tone laced with sarcasm, chimed in, "Yes, Nik, what he said. What exactly are you doing?"
Klaus continued to pour over the ancient texts, his attention seemingly fixed on other matters. "It's not that I don't care, Elijah," he responded without looking up from his work. "I'm working on it, but I have other priorities right now."
Elijah's annoyance grew evident as he retorted, "Other priorities? Klaus, Mother and Finn are out there plotting their next moves, trying to permanently end us. Your family could use your help right now."
Kol, leaning casually against a bookshelf, asked, "What's got your attention, brother?"
Finally, Klaus looked up, his intense gaze meeting his siblings'. "I've been studying these ancient texts all week. I've come across something that could be the key to reversing the spell."
Rebekah, intrigued by Klaus's revelation, inquired, "Care to share why it's taken you this long, and why we have to browbeat it out of you?"
Klaus sighed, his frustration mounting. "There's something I personally needed to handle that was more pressing."
Elijah looked at his brother, perplexed. "Niklaus, this is not the time to let it distract us. You're following your whim, while our family is in danger."
Klaus angrily defended himself, "It's not a whim, Elijah. We'll take care of it once I locate their whereabouts, which I'm close to doing. No one will dare to threaten our family again."
Kol couldn't resist a sly smile. "Well, that does sound intriguing. But what's the use of being invincible if our family drops dead while you're busy with your little quest?"
Rebekah, her concern for their family evident, added, "Kol's right, Nik. We need to find Mother and Finn sooner rather than later."
Klaus, still frustrated, sighed. "I said I am handling it, just like I always do!"
Kol rolled his eyes, breaking the tension with a touch of sarcasm. "Great, family drama while we hunt for our treacherous mother and pathetic excuse for a brother. What could possibly go wrong?"
The siblings looked at each other determinedly as they walked away from Klaus, their concern and resolve driving them to find Esther and Finn before it was too late.
What Klaus hadn't shared with his siblings was that while he had been chasing leads and consulting his network of spies throughout the supernatural community that his biological father's pack is seeking permanent residency either in the bayou or Baton Rouge. The idea of having a second chance of a pack was a temptation he couldn't resist.
The only person he shared this newfound revelation with was Gabriel and Klaus intended to keep it that way until he had thoroughly assessed the situation. To show his loyalty Gabriel had promised to continue gathering information discreetly.
Klaus knew that this revelation added another layer of complexity to his already tumultuous life. With the search for Esther and Finn intensifying and the possibility of discovering his father's pack he was determined to unravel the mysteries of his past but he had to see them both through.
A Little Backyard Fun…
Bonnie was caught between the weight of her grandmother's house responsibilities and the impending graduation pulling at her in opposite directions. She was lying on her bed, clutching Ms. Cuddles close as she daydreamed about the life she had before discovering her magical abilities and the existence of vampires.
Lucy's phone buzzed, indicating an incoming text message from her mother. The message read:
Your aunt and I believe it's time for Bonnie to take a break from magic and discover life outside of it. We think it's a great idea for you and your cousin to go on an all-expenses-paid European adventure to give her an opportunity to find herself. We trust there's no one better suited for the task.
Lucy enthusiastically typed her response - Hell yeah!
She watched the flickering dots, anxiously awaiting her mother's response.
Rose's response came with a gentle reminder - Mind your tone, young lady, when you're speaking to me.
Sorry - Lucy added with an embarrassed face emoji, and continued, Yes, ma'am.
Good! According to Violet, there's still time, so we thought a year of first-class travel to your favorite spots or hers is in order - her mother texted.
I'm all in! - Lucy replied with excitement.
Great. Have a chat with your cousin and either send me the details once you've decided on your first destination or make the arrangements using my Black AMEX card, her mother instructed.
Okay, I'm sure Bonnie will really appreciate it, Lucy assured.
We hope so, but just in case she gives you a hard time, tell her it's a graduation present, her mother suggested.
Ok, talk to you later. Ciao - Lucy responded.
Lucy did a little dance, shimmying her hips in excitement as she considered the best way to break the amazing news. A few hours later, she was knocking eagerly on Bonnie's bedroom door.
Frustrated with her cousin's behavior, Bonnie forcefully swung the door open. "Alright, already... what's going on?"
"Don't take this the wrong way, cuz," Lucy teased, "but your room is starting to reek and I thought you could let it air out by joining me."
Bonnie rolled her eyes. "Very funny."
"Okay, seriously tho," Lucy had the biggest smile on her face as if it was Christmas morning. "I have something to show you."
"What is it?"
"It's a surprise."
"I hate surprises," Bonnie griped.
"Well too bad. You have to come with me but before you do that you have to wear this" She held up a silk scarf.
Frustrated, Bonnie's shoulders sagged and complained. "Oh come on Lu, seriously?"
"Yes, trust me it'll be worth it."
"If you say so." Bonnie grumbled.
Once she was able to finally convince her grumpy cousin to join in on her shenanigans Lucy guided Bonnie through the house towards the backyard.
Bonnie could tell they were outside by the way the wind made her shiver and the smell of her grams' beautiful garden. Being impatient she asked. "Can I take this off now?"
Undeterred Lucy was still too excited to let her ruin the mood. "Yes," she said.
A canopy of twinkling stars illuminates the night sky and a crescent moon casts a glow over the Bennett's backyard. As Bonnie's eyes start to adjust she notices in the middle of the lawn sat a cozy fort made of blankets and pillows. Lucy grabbed her hand and pulled her towards it and plopped down in a crossed leg position.
A cozy, inviting glow is created by the strings of fairy lights that adorn the makeshift fort. There was what appeared to be a pitcher of margaritas and every kind of junk food imaginable. Bonnie raised an eyebrow at her cousin.
With no trace of shame, Abby lifted her shoulders and said, "What? Even though I'm older than you, I'm not perfect. Furthermore, don't insult my intelligence by acting as though you and your friends don't partake in underage drinking."
As Lucy poured their drinks and gave Bonnie a glass with a salt rim, Bonnie laughed. "Yeah, all right." She had to admit, after hearing the music gently playing through the Bluetooth speakers, that her cousin had gone above and beyond to try to cheer her up; the least she could do was enjoy it. "This is great, Lucy. Thank you."
"Anytime cuzzo!" Even though they didn't know each other well, their bond appeared to strengthen every day. "I doubt you are aware, but Abby has always had a fascination with stargazing. She used to say it made her feel closer to the ones she'd lost."
"I wish I could have known her better."
Lucy extended her hand toward a platter of snacks, grabbing a couple of chocolate chip cookies. She offered them to Bonnie, who accepted a small one and managed a faint smile.
In an attempt to lighten the mood, Lucy retrieved her phone and began scrolling through a collection of family photos. She showed Bonnie a picture of two of the most attractive men who were the spitting image of each other.
Bonnie couldn't help but notice the mischievous gleam in their eyes – eyes that bore an uncanny resemblance to her own. The vivid green hue of their eyes was undoubtedly a family trait. Their smiles mirrored each other, and they even sported the same Caesar haircut with perfectly defined waves. They reminded her of that actor Keith Powers with their chiseled facial features that are too perfect to be real.
"They look like a handful." Bonnie said.
Lucy nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, they are. That's Jeremiah, but we call him J, and the other one is Isaiah, aka Zeke."
Lucy chuckled as she swiped to another photo. "And this one is from our trip to Morocco for a family reunion last summer on my father's side. Aunt Vi insisted on organizing a tug-of-war competition. Mom and her were on opposing teams. You should've seen them; it was a riot."
Bonnie can't help but giggle at the image of the older women engaged in a playful battle of strength.
While looking through more family pictures, Lucy suggested. "They've been talking and they think you ought to take a year off to travel. Naturally, all expenses are paid for. I even proposed Europe as the destination," she continued, eager to take small credit for their suggestion.
Bonnie's eyes widening. "Europe? That's incredible, but I don't know... I mean..."
"Think of it as a graduation gift or a way to catch up on all the missed birthdays," Lucy urged. "I've spent my entire life in New Orleans, but I love to explore new places. Sometimes, a break from all the supernatural stuff is just what we need."
Bonnie contemplated the idea, realizing it might be exactly what she needed at this point in her life.
Lucy, initially expecting a rejection, firmly grasped both of Bonnie's shoulders and locked eyes with her. "Bonnie, you're a beautiful, intelligent young woman with boundless potential. You shouldn't spend another moment in this backward ass town. It's time for you to venture out and explore the world as it was meant to be. Besides this is the universe's way of telling you that this place no longer deserves your kindness or your sacrifices."
Bonnie nodded in agreement. "But I thought they wanted me to stay in New Orleans. And can they really afford a trip like this? Traveling in Europe sounds very expensive."
Lucy's smile widened as she realized her plan had worked. "Girlfriend, first of all, we're rich as in wealthy. And secondly, this journey will be a fantastic way for you to heal and discover yourself. Plus, you'd get to explore all those beautiful places you love to read about."
Bonnie started to protest, "How do you know..." but then noticed her cousin's mischievous grin and caught on. She finished her thought, saying, "because you snooped through my things and found my collection of travel books."
"Sorry, it was the only way to learn more about you until you were ready to share," Lucy admitted.
"It's okay, and I'm really sorry for being so difficult," Bonnie responded.
Lucy waved her off and said, "Well, let's create some memories together. Abby would have wanted that."
Just then, the song switched to a more upbeat tune. "This was my favorite song with Grams," Bonnie reminisced.
Lucy jumped up and pulled her cousin with her. "I love this song!" The girls began to dance and passionately sing the lyrics of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar. After they'd exhausted themselves, they took a break to refill their drinks.
"We can begin with the French Riviera, starting in Monaco, then heading to Nice, and finally Paris for some shopping. I usually have any excess shopping shipped directly home from the boutiques. It's the most convenient way to travel," Lucy suggested with a wink. "Then from there, Italy, and wherever else you'd like to go. What do you say?" She beamed with excitement.
Bonnie realized that, apart from what she'd read in her books and travel blogs, she knew very little about the world beyond Mystic Falls. She contemplated how she'd spent so much time assisting others that she had forgotten how to truly live. It was clear she had been merely surviving, suffocated by grief. It was undoubtedly time to embrace life and take a break.
Seeing Bonnie's excitement, Lucy smiled, though a twinge of regret tugged at her for not thinking of this idea sooner. "There's one rule, and you have to promise me," Lucy declared.
Curiously, Bonnie inquired, "And what might that be?" wearing a slightly skeptical smile.
"Once we touch down in Monaco, you have to do something out of the ordinary. It could be anything from getting tipsy and singing karaoke to embarking on a wild night of club-hopping to meet Euro hunks. Don't worry, the legal drinking age is 18 internationally. The choice is yours, as long as it helps you step out of the shadow of your Mystic Falls days," Lucy explained.
Bonnie scoffed, thinking that she might not be ready for that level of exploration just yet.
Lucy extended her hand for a shake and asked, "Do we have a deal?" Bonnie hesitated for a moment but eventually shook Lucy's hand.
"Look, I'm not trying to push you into anything crazy. I mean, just take a look around; our everyday lives are already brimming with it. I'm simply aiming to nudge you out of your comfort zone. Life is about more than cleaning up after Elena Gilbert and her band of psychotic vampires," Lucy explained.
She couldn't argue with that perspective and found herself genuinely excited for the new chapter awaiting her.
As they discussed their upcoming journey, they indulged in an assortment of double-stuffed Oreos, an array of candies from Skittles to Godiva chocolates, and an assortment of salty snacks.
They spent the rest of the evening outdoors, cocooned in blankets and pillows, gazing at the stars as Lucy shared funny stories and memories of a family Bonnie didn't know existed. They laughed so hard their cheeks and stomachs ached.
The weight of all that had transpired still lingered, but in this moment, beneath the expansive canvas of the night sky, they found comfort in each other's company and the promise of a new adventure.
"I always wanted a sister," Lucy whispered.
Bonnie smiled and replied, "Me too."
The fort had turned into a cozy haven and as the hours pass, exhaustion finally catches up with them, and they fall asleep cradled in the warmth of their fort.
While Elijah and Kol scoured the city, determined to find Finn according to Klaus's plan they were simultaneously hunting Sage as a backup plan in case Finn refused to cooperate. Rebekah however, had a score to settle, and she was intent on delivering some revenge for setting up Kol.
After taking a lengthy, hot shower, Damon was just about to finish getting dressed when he heard a loud noise coming from the basement. "What the hell was that?" he muttered to himself. As he cautiously descended the stairs, only to witness Alaric stumbling out and crashing onto the floor.
"Ric!" He yelled, his worry evident in his voice.
A sudden flash from the corner of his eye made Damon whirl around, and before he could react, Rebekah plunged a vervain soaked knife into his stomach. "Hello, lover," she whispered.
Moments later Ric stirred, regaining consciousness, just before dragging Damon away. In a flash, Rebekah compelled him to forget what had happened and that he hadn't seen Damon in a few days.
Finn walked briskly down the street, his steps deliberate and determined. Before he could get too far, Elijah appeared before him, a hint of tension in his voice.
"Hello Finn," Elijah greeted, his gaze unfaltering.
Finn's expression remained cold. "Hello, Elijah. I have nothing to say to you."
Elijah's demeanor grew forceful. "I'm not here to chat. Where's Esther?"
"Gone to find another way to end our abominable lives," Finn replied with bitterness.
"Well, fortunate that I found you. We require your assistance."
"I have no wish to help you, Elijah. Only to see you dead."
Elijah began to respond, but Finn attempted to flee, darting into an abandoned alley. His escape was abruptly halted as Kol intercepted him.
"Let's not make this any worse than it has to be, brother," Kol urged, his reluctance to fight with Finn evident.
"You're siding with Klaus?" Finn asked incredulously. "Kol, he stored us in boxes," Finn argued.
"At least he's not trying to make us extinct," Kol pointed out.
While Finn was engaged in conversation with Kol, Elijah seized the opportunity and threw him forcefully against a brick wall, causing Finn to crumple to the ground.
Once they returned with an incapacitated Finn, Kol threw him into the foyer with Elijah following closely behind. He was conscious but defiant. Klaus strolled out to greet their older brother with a sly grin.
"You can't force me to help you," Finn declared aggressively.
"Oh, I most likely could," Klaus responded, his tone dripping with confidence, "but why force when I can persuade?"
Klaus gestured towards the staircase, and Sage descended cautiously. Finn's eyes widened with elation and shock when he laid eyes on her.
"Sage!" he yelled, rushing towards her. They embraced warmly.
Klaus, with a sardonic smile, received a text message from Gabriel: I'm in place.
Klaus swiftly replied: Stand by.
He then turned to his sister and gloated, "Easier than torture."
Rebekah rolled her eyes. "I have something to do," she stated, her voice dripping with icy resolve. "What do you need from me for the spell?"
"Just your blood," he replied, his voice low. "Where are you going?"
"To the ballroom," Rebekah replied, her eyes aflame with vengeance. Her golden curls cascaded around her shoulders, framing her striking features. "I have some unfinished business with Damon Salvatore."
As she strolled away, Kol and Elijah escorted Finn and Sage to secure them in one of the many rooms in the mansion.
Klaus, confident in his carefully devised plan, left the mansion shortly after in search of his witch. His excitement building as the pieces of his intricate scheme fell into place. The stage was set.
The next morning they awoke to the rays of the sun feeling refreshed. They felt a renewed sense of excitement and purpose, realizing that the bond they were forming went beyond that of cousins, but of actual sisters who would support each other.
There was more to their impending trip than just Bonnie's personal growth. It was a chance for Lucy to enthusiastically share her love of travel and the world with her new partner in crime, and for Bonnie to let go of her emotional baggage.
Sporting smiles, Bonnie and Lucy recognized that their playful backyard escapade had marked a turning point in their lives.
Elena's footsteps resounded through the dimly lit Salvatore boarding house hallways as she continued her unwavering goal. She was filled with remorse and felt the consequences of her actions pressing down on her as she looked for solutions. Her desperation had led her here, right into the heart of her problems.
Ever attentive, Stefan approached her in the foyer, his concern clearly visible on his face. He knew that something was amiss. "Hello to you too, Elena. What's going on?" he greeted, his voice laced with worry.
She barely acknowledged him, her gaze darting around the room with a wild intensity. "Where is he?" she demanded, her voice edged with anger.
"If you're referring to Damon, I don't know. I haven't seen him for days. I actually thought he was with you," Stefan admitted, puzzled by the urgency in her eyes.
"With me? Why the hell—never mind," Elena dismissed the thought, shaking her head impatiently.
"If he's not with you, maybe he's hanging out with Alaric then," Stefan suggested, growing increasingly concerned himself.
"No, I actually just came from there," Elena replied, her frustration mounting.
Slightly alarmed, Stefan reached for his phone and dialed Damon's number. It went straight to voicemail. "Damon, Elena and I are starting to worry about you," his voice tinged with concern. Elena couldn't help but scoff at the irony, but she knew her worry was real. "Call me back or Elena. Just call someone to let us know you're alright." Stefan ended the call and shoved his phone back into his pocket.
Elena's eyes were still haunted, and the unspoken tension between them weighed heavily in the room. Stefan, sensing her turmoil, began to address the events of the other night, but she held up her hand, silencing him. She wasn't ready to confront the depth of her emotions just yet.
"Elena, I didn't want that to happen," Stefan tried again, his voice filled with regret.
"I know, Stefan," Elena replied, her voice filled with a complex mix of gratitude and despair. "I've got to go." She turned on her heels and walked briskly out of the house, leaving Stefan behind with a heavy heart, grappling with his own remorse for the role he had played in her suffering.
The headstone stood dignified beneath the pale sun.
In loving memory of
Abby Bennett
August 16, 1972 - October 24, 2018
Missed but never forgotten
It was her final resting place. Bonnie's gaze swept from one grave marker to the next. She tried not to think of how and or even harder why they'd been cut down. Every night she wondered if Abby's soul was at peace and if there was a possibility she could be with Grams on the other side.
A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of nearby trees as if announcing his arrival. He hated himself for what he was about to do so soon after her mother's death but time was of the essence.
She heard the leaves crush under the weight of someone wiped the hot tears that spilled down her face and turned to see Klaus. Her breath hitched at the sight of him. Klaus of all people, had come to disturb her.
He approached Bonnie with a solemn expression, holding a bouquet of white lilies and roses. "Bonnie," he began, his voice low and conflicted, "I'm sorry for your loss." He handed her the bouquet, his piercing blue eyes filled with a genuine sorrow that surprised her.
Bonnie accepted the flowers with a nod of gratitude, her voice trembling. "What are you doing here, Klaus?"
He took a step closer, his demeanor shifting. "I came looking for you." He admitted.
She looked at him incredulously and because she was still in shock with his appearance she couldn't speak.
"I need your help, Bonnie. There's something that needs to be done, and time is of the essence."
Bonnie's brows furrowed in suspicion. "Help from me? After everything?"
Klaus sighed, his tone turning more serious. "You see, Bonnie, I'd prefer not to resort to threats. But sometimes, circumstances force my hand," he said. "But I need your help with unlinking me and my siblings."
Klaus retrieved his phone and initiated a FaceTime call. A moment later, his beta, Gabriel, appeared on the screen, casually conversing with an oblivious Jeremy.
Bonnie watched in confusion.
"I don't wish to harm those close to you, Bonnie. But I'll do what's necessary," he said with a grave tone, showing her his phone.
Bonnie's eyes widened as she saw Jeremy on the screen, her heart filled with worry.
"Fine, Klaus, I'll help you. Just leave Jeremy and my friends out of this." Bonnie demanded, her desperation clear in her voice.
Klaus nodded in satisfaction, ending the call. He put the phone away and offered her his arm, his demeanor once again polite and cordial. "Thank you, Bonnie. I knew you would make the right choice."
Frustrated and overwhelmed by yet another situation beyond her control, Bonnie stood frozen, her gaze fixed on the handsome devil before her.
"After this is resolved, I give you my word. I'll depart Mystic Falls and leave your friends in peace," he promised, extending his hand for a handshake. She hesitated, but there was something in his open gaze that convinced her of his sincerity. She took a step closer to seal the deal.
Then, he held the door open for her of his Mercedes G-Wagon. "Shall we?" he asked.
Once they arrived at his estate after driving in silence, Klaus made a point of being a polite host by offering refreshments. Still agitated, she declined his hospitality.
"I'm not here by choice, Klaus. So I prefer to not mess around."
It was becoming more and more apparent that her feistiness was a complete turn on. "I wouldn't expect anything less, Ms. Bennett," he said with a faintly amused curl of his lips.
"Let's just get this over with." Bonnie huffed.
Finally, Klaus guided her to the study, where various ancient tomes were scattered around. In the center of the room, an open grimoire lay on a table, the unlinking spell waiting to be cast.
"I found them in the shed. What kind of monster would trap a poor, defenseless animal?" Rebekah inquired, circling Damon like a vulture eyeing its prey.
Damon, ever the provocateur, retorted nonchalantly, "You've got to admit, even for me, it's a little kinky."
With a wicked glint in her eye, Rebekah reached for a knife on the table and continued her macabre dance around him. "I might not be able to end your girlfriend, but I will get pleasure out of torturing you." She tore open his shirt and sliced a deep incision across his chest, causing him to groan in agony.
"If you wanted to play rough, all you had to do was ask," Damon managed through clenched teeth.
"I know it was all your idea to set up Kol and attempt to end us," Rebekah accused, her knife poised for another strike.
Damon, defiant to the core, spat back, "Yes, and I'd do it again."
Rebekah, fueled by anger and vengeance, sliced him again, this time the wound gushed blood, staining the room crimson. Just as the torment reached its peak, Klaus made his grand entrance.
"Well, look what you've caught. Do try not to stain the wood flooring. If you're trying to bleed him of vervain, don't you think it would be easier to hang him upside down?" Klaus suggested, his trademark smirk playing on his lips.
"I'm perfectly capable of inflicting pain, thank you very much," Rebekah snapped back, her focus entirely on Damon.
Klaus, feigning innocence, rolled his eyes sarcastically. "Well, excuse me, it's not like I have any expertise in the matter." With a mischievous grin he exited the room, leaving his sister to her gruesome business.
Rebekah turned her attention back to Damon, her sadistic intentions undeterred. "Hmm, where were we?"
The room was tense as Bonnie gathered the materials and began preparing for the spell. Klaus paced impatiently, his footsteps echoing through the dimly lit study. He couldn't hide his anxiety, knowing that the longer his siblings remained linked, the more danger they all faced.
"Tick, tock, Bonnie," Klaus growled, stopping in his tracks and fixing his intense gaze on her. "I should hear chanting by now."
Bonnie, her brow furrowed with concentration, turned to face him. "I'm still studying the spell. It's not that easy, especially under duress."
Klaus's expression darkened. He leaned in closer, his voice a low, threatening growl. "You've been warned if you're looking for a way to send help…" He left the statement open, allowing the numerous threats implied to hang in the air.
Bonnie sighed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on her. "I don't know if I'm strong enough," she admitted, her eyes filled with uncertainty.
Klaus softened his tone, realizing that intimidation wasn't going to help matters. "Then you should have a little more faith in yourself, Bonnie," he said. "I know I do. Your energy helped my mother link us."
Bonnie was baffled, her confusion evident on her face. "What do you mean?"
Klaus continued, his voice coaxing now. "You're being emotional, and I completely understand things have been rough, but I really need you to do the spell, please, Bonnie."
She tried to remain unmoved by his clear pretense of modesty but the cadence of his voice when he said her name made her core clench. Bonnie nodded reluctantly, realizing that Klaus was right; they didn't have time for doubts.
"Now then, I know you need our blood," Klaus said as he reached into this pocket and handed her five vials. "Here you go. Is there anything else?"
Bonnie accepted the vials and took a deep breath. "Yes, I will need you and your siblings to form a circle while I do the spell."
"Consider it done," Klaus replied, pulling out his phone and texting his siblings to join them in the study.
Unlinking Spell Gone Wrong…..
One by one, they made their way into the room, Kol and Elijah escorting an unwilling Sage and Finn. Although the hostages didn't say anything, the moment they laid eyes on the Bennett witch, they knew what was about to take place.
Bonnie instructed them on what she needed them to do, placing five candles in a circle on the floor, each one representing a Mikaelson sibling. Their eyes fixed on her every move.
Bonnie's hands tremble slightly as she concentrates, channeling her magic. The flames flickered ominously as her incantations echo through the space, her voice low and filled with power.
Thymis si onassein, ruptum vinculum….
The floor beneath her feet began to radiate with a soft glow, and a surge of energy coursed through the room. Bonnie's efforts appeared to yield results as the invisible connections binding the Mikaelson siblings started to loosen. However, as she reaches the critical moment, Bonnie's strength starts to wane.
The siblings noticed the shift, granting them a momentary break from their interconnected bond. A surge of relief enveloped them... only to be followed by an unexpected turn of events.
Kol and Finn's eyes displayed a flicker of concern.
"Bonnie, something's amiss. I can still sense Finn, as if he's a part of me," Kol exclaimed, his voice filled with panic.
"And I can feel Kol, this isn't how it should be," Finn chimed in.
Bonnie tries to maintain her focus, but she expected there could be complications. "I'm not strong enough, sorry." Her voice wavered as she struggled to maintain the spell.
Klaus's eyes widened with alarm as he realized they were no longer in control of the situation, "I don't understand, the spell should've severed all connections between us."
Sage watched, feeling powerless.
"Can you undo it, Bonnie?" Elijah asked apprehensively.
Determined to keep her word, "I'll try again. Just give me a moment." She closed her eyes and delved deep within, striving to rectify the unintended consequences. But with each passing second, Kol and Finn's condition deteriorated. Their skin dried out, taking on a desiccated appearance.
Kol, struggling to stay on his feet, stumbled and gasped, "It's getting worse, Bonnie! Do something!"
Desperation set in, and Bonnie's panic surged. She didn't want to lose control of the urgent situation, but she couldn't seem to halt the process.
"I'm trying, but I can't figure out what went wrong!" she pleaded.
Rebekah and Klaus drew closer to their linked brothers, offering support and solace. The room was laden with an air of profound sadness.
"Please, Bonnie, you have to save them," Rebekah implored, her eyes brimming with tears.
Frustrated by his inability to save his family, Klaus resumed his threatening tone, "If you don't fix this, do I need to remind you what will happen?"
Bonnie returned his glare and retorted, "Do I need to remind you that your mother didn't cast this spell alone?"
Just as hope appeared to be slipping away, a brilliant idea struck Bonnie. She devised a new plan in a last-ditch effort to rescue Kol and Finn.
Summoning all her strength and perseverance, Bonnie cast the final spell, a blinding burst of energy that engulfed the study. When the blinding light subsided, it revealed a transformed scene with Kol and Finn lying unconscious on the floor, their desiccation halted. Bonnie stood exhausted, her eyes filled with relief.
Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah hurried to their brothers' sides, anxiously checking their condition.
"You did it, Bonnie. They're alive," Elijah said with a sigh of relief.
Breathing heavily, Bonnie explained, "Not exactly. The bond between them is still linked and has been stabilized, preventing any further harm to their bodies." She walked over to the table and picked up a pendant that was lying there. "However, I managed to place their souls in here."
"What are you trying to say?" Sage finally spoke up, tears streaming down her face.
Bonnie met their gazes, her voice heavy with regret, "That I was unable to bring them back, and this was the only solution I could come up with before they were permanently lost." She glanced at the remaining Mikaelsons, her eyes locking onto Klaus. "I'm truly sorry. I did everything I could."
Elijah, ever the composed one, spoke with gratitude in his voice, "You did what you could, Bonnie. You saved them from certain death."
"What can we do now?" Rebekah asked.
"There's a possibility to restore their bodies or lay them to rest in their coffins." Bonnie offered. "I just wish I could have done more," her exhaustion evident.
Klaus nodded his head in understanding, fully aware of the delicate nature of powerful magic and the fragile threads that can break. "You've given us a chance. We'll find a way to undo it, but for now, we have time."
Sage fell to her knees by Finn's side and sobbed. Though Elijah tried to console her, she was overwhelmed by anger and jerked herself away from his comforting embrace. She stood up, her voice trembling, "You can all go to hell!" and she rushed out of the room, slamming the front door so forcefully that they heard the windows shatter.
Rebekah remained standing there, in total shock, unable to move. She couldn't hold back her tears any longer and wiped them away.
Elijah turned to Klaus, his expression resolute. "I will ensure they are placed back in their coffins." Klaus gave his brother a slight nod.
Bonnie left, wanting to give the Mikaelsons some privacy and in desperate need of a respite from the stifling atmosphere in the room populated by the most formidable vampires imaginable.
She inhaled deeply as she slid her hands down her denim-clad legs. Although she was unfamiliar with the woman who had stormed off, she could sympathize with and understand her heartache. Bonnie lingered outside of the study for several minutes, contemplating the situation, when Rebekah and Klaus approached her.
Rebekah's Gratitude…
As the initial shock began to subside, a profound sense of gratefulness washed over Rebekah. She sought out the young witch, positioning herself directly in front of Bonnie. "Thank you, Bonnie. I know it was a difficult decision to help us and I know you did everything you could for my family tonight. I just wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry for your loss."
Bonnie's guarded expression softened, recognizing that it couldn't have been easy for them to witness their siblings perishing right before their eyes. She spoke softly, "Family is everything, for better or for worse," and her gaze shifted over Rebekah's shoulder to Klaus.
Klaus's gaze fell to the marble floor, and his hand rose to his mouth, gently brushing his lips in contemplation. He recognized her intelligence, but her mature outlook on life at such a young age added to her irresistible allure.
A small smile curved at the corners of Rebekah's lips as she nodded. "You're right, Bonnie. We may come from different worlds, but I've come to respect your loyalty and strength. Thank you. Take care, Bonnie."
Rebekah touched Bonnie's arm lightly before she walked away, leaving behind a shared moment of vulnerability and mutual respect.
Confronting Damon…
After a seemingly private moment shared between admired rivals, one that Klaus felt privileged to witness, he guided Bonnie through the house, choosing a different path to exit the mansion. But while they were strolling, Bonnie happened upon a startling scene: Damon Salvatore, strung up in the middle of being tortured.
Bonnie's face was snarled as she glared at Damon, her heart filled with hate and rage. Knowing she would need his strength if she decided to confront her mother's killer, Klaus continued to place his hand on her lower back and offered his silent support.
She entered the room, getting closer to Damon, her voice filled with venom. "If I ever see your face again, I will melt it off." She threatened.
"I didn't have a choice, Bonnie. I couldn't just let her be killed," Damon pleaded desperately.
Bonnie's anger flared as she responded, "There's always a choice, but whenever you make one, someone else suffers."
A knot formed in her throat, and hot tears threatened to spill but she wouldn't dare give the bastard the satisfaction of seeing her shed another tear. They'd already had enough of her blood, sweat and tears. "I hate you! I hope you suffer in as much misery as you've brought into my life!"
She whispered to Klaus, who remained nearby, to get her out of there. He obliged, leaving a pale Damon speechless.
Klaus's Comfort…..
Klaus and Bonnie rode in his SUV to her house in quiet companionship. Classical music softly playing in the background. He was silently proud of her for facing Damon, and even though he couldn't do it right now, he wanted to comfort her.
In an attempt to lighten the atmosphere, Klaus broached a casual subject. "I hope the flowers and food I sent were to your satisfaction. They were meant as a gesture of my condolences."
Bonnie welcomed the diversion and nodded in gratitude. "Yes, they were lovely. Thank you for thinking of me."
The sun was casting a warm, orange glow as it slowly sank below the horizon as they arrived at her house. Klaus hastily opened her door in a subdued nod to bygone days of chivalry. The front door opened as they got closer, revealing a beautiful woman who was only a little older than Bonnie. Klaus figured she had to be her cousin.
Lucy stood on the porch with a stern expression, her gaze fixed on Klaus. She addressed Bonnie, "Hey Bonnie, you good?"
Bonnie, still feeling despondent but safe, replied with a low voice, "Yeah."
Klaus turned to Lucy and asked politely, " Do you mind if I have a moment alone with Bonnie?"
Lucy studies Klaus briefly before stating, "I don't know you except for your less-than-stellar reputation, but I can tell you don't mean any harm to her. As long as it stays that way, we won't have a problem." She arched a brow to emphasize her point.
Bonnie gave her a subtle nod, indicating that she would be fine.
Lucy left them, saying, "I'll be close by if you need me."
Bonnie's heart felt heavy, weighed down by her confrontation with Damon. She sat down on the porch stairs, and Klaus followed, sitting at a respectful distance, ready to offer whatever support she might need.
Klaus, she thought, an unlikely ally in this time of her misfortune. With everything going on and what had just transpired, she didn't want to admit it, but having him by her side was comforting.
He turned to her, his gaze softening. "Bonnie, I don't know how to thank you enough. You risked everything for my family, and I won't forget that. As promised, I'll leave your friends alone forever."
Bonnie smiled weakly, appreciating his words.
She had shown him courage and vulnerability, and it had incited an emotion in him that he didn't quite know how to explain. He struggled for a moment with an unfamiliar self-consciousness that was very different from his normal self-assurance.
The wind began to rustle through the trees, carrying the sweet scent of Bonnie's hair and skin. Klaus felt an instinctive reaction that he tried to suppress, realizing that this was a time for a genuine conversation, not his personal cravings. He shifted slightly, hoping Bonnie wouldn't notice.
He began to speak, his voice steady. "I can't pretend to understand the pain you're going through right now. But I've been through my own share of trials and tribulations. I know what it's like to carry the weight of guilt and loss."
Despite her pain and skepticism, she was eager to learn more. Bonnie was curious about his experiences and any advice he could provide. She looked into his eyes, silently urging him to continue.
Klaus went on, "I have a great deal of respect for you because, like me, you are a survivor. You possess more strength than you realize."
Bonnie felt her cheeks flush and averted her eyes. Klaus grinned to himself, adoring the expression on her stunning face. Somehow, she let down her guard, allowing herself to lean on Klaus, feeling safe.
"Your strength, loyalty, and beauty are unparalleled," Klaus continued. "Sometimes, these small towns can be traps, where people never leave, even when they should." He gazed out at the darkening sky, his words carrying a deeper meaning.
Bonnie nodded in acknowledgment, touched by his words. She appreciated his insight, "Thank you, Klaus."
Bonnie found herself relaxing against Klaus, feeling a sense of safety and placed her head on his shoulder.
Klaus couldn't help but give in to temptation as he felt her body melt against his. He tilted his head a little grazing her lips in a gentle peck, testing the waters.
To his delight, Bonnie closed her eyes and moaned softly, her lips parting slightly under his touch. Encouraged by her response, he deepened the kiss as his lips melding with hers in a soul wrenching kiss.
Lost in the intoxicating moment, Klaus finally pulled back, allowing Bonnie to catch her breath. Her eyelids flickered open, and he noticed a spark of doubt in her expression a hint of apprehension that tugged at his heart.
Realizing the weight of his actions, Klaus knew he couldn't risk making her regret anything. Despite the undeniable chemistry between them, he couldn't bear the thought of her looking back on this moment with anything but nostalgia.
Klaus sighed heavily as he eased out of their embrace, getting to his feet he dusted off his jeans and turned to look at her with a bittersweet smile. "Take care of yourself, Bonnie Bennett. If there's ever anything you need, never hesitate to ask." then slowly walked to his SUV.
As Bonnie watched him drive away, she couldn't help but smile. She felt inspired by the unexpected heart-to-heart conversation with the enigmatic vampire. She touched her lips, still swollen from the best kiss she'd ever had.
Emotions roiled within Klaus like a violent storm as he blasted through the door. His mood turned to frustration at the thought of how someone as strong and intelligent as she was could have become so submissive to the concept of being a pawn. He didn't care if their time together was short; the memories they made would last a lifetime. She deserved better, and neither him nor the Salvatores deserved her kindness.
Feeling both sexually frustrated and weighed down by the idea of never seeing her again, Klaus's emotions fuse to create a powerful combination. He paces the mansion, his normally blue eyes smoldering with a fire that could burn the house down, desperate to release his frenzied energy somewhere.
Rebekah was noticeably absent, but Damon remained suspended like bait. Klaus stepped forward, a menacing smile on his face. Damon arrogantly tipped his chin, never one to back down, not even in a tight spot. "Keep your distance from Bonnie," he insisted.
"You've got some nerve," Klaus snarls, his accent laced with venom. Suddenly they are mere inches apart, their breath mingling. "How dare you presume to tell me what to do? I'm the original hybrid! You are less than, and if I weren't in the mood for my sister to yell at me, I would rip your heart out where you stand."
Klaus steps back, his footsteps echoing in the grand hall. He turns to Damon and gives him a hard, piercing glare. Pointing a long, accusatory finger at him, he continues with a tone of authority.
"She deserves a life free of cleaning up after an idiot like you and being Elena's lapdog." Klaus approaches Damon once more, their eyes locked, Klaus's pupils expand and contract in a compelling gaze. "You will stay far away from Bonnie Bennett, and if you ever have a desire to contact her for any reason, especially if it's to save Elena, take your daylight ring off and walk into the sunlight."
The compulsion sweeps through him, taking root in his mind, and he nods, a sense of fear and submission overcoming him.
Klaus pulls away, leaving Damon standing there, dazed and obedient, under his compelling influence.
