Apple of Temptation part 1

Reki had just entered the factory.

"Almost there" Reki thought. A smile plastered on his lips. The exhilarating thought that he will win, and race alongside Langa flashed through his mind.

"YOU WORTHLESS BRAT!" Adam roared as he burst into the factory, using his board to knock some pipes out of his way creating a new path that allowed him to get closer to Reki.

Adam could feel his blood pumping in rage as he began to draw closer to the redhead.

"Unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable!" where the only thoughts Adam had as he gained on the redhead.

Reki for some reason didn't really hear the scream from Adam. He knew he was close to the finish line. He inhaled sharply as he felt his board wobbling a little under his feet as he drew closer to the goal.

"I must have damaged the shaft when I landed earlier, shit!" Reki grit his teeth only hearing the wind, his blood pumping as he adjusted himself on his board to try and go faster. Lowering his body slightly to be more arrow dynamic.

"Hold it together for me board, just a little more!" He thought. Focusing as hard as he could, trying to maintain balance as the finish line drew closer. Focusing all his attention so hard on reaching the goal, Reki's world began to narrow down to a single point.

Both racers were so focused on crossing the finish line and winning, that for a brief moment both racers' eyes glowed softly with the light of a rainbow. The world turned white around them and in that single moment, when they both crossed the finish line, only one thought crossed Adam's mind.

"Impossible".

They both crossed the finish line at the same time as the white around them faded. The cheers from the gathered crowd were deafening.

"Holy shit, it's a tie!"

"You're my new hero Red!"

"Reki! His name's Reki!"

Reki tried to come to a stop, losing focus and looking around him wondering what that world of white was. As he did his board finally gave out, a part of the shaft with the wheel still attached snapped and shot away from the board and into the crowd. Sending Reki ass over face into the ground, and his body skidded a few feet coming to rest in an unmoving heap.

Adam turned sharply on his board coming to a sudden stop, the momentum had him tumbling from his board panting. Landing on his knees and hands, he left claw marks in the dirt as he clenched his fists hard.

"Impossible" Adam mumbled as he lifted his head to look over at the fallen Reki.

The crowd grew silent as a voice from the crowd yelled "Oh crap he isn't moving!"

"REKI!" Langa cried as he pushed through the crowd and rushed over to the red heads side. Kneeling down Langa's hands hovered over the red head, unsure if he should touch him.

"Reki? Are you ok?" Langa began to worry as Reki's body began to shake.

The boy on the ground flipped over stretching his arms wide as he exclaimed voice full of joy, face radiating happiness "I freaking love skating! It's so much fun! Hahaha!". The laughter was infectious and a few other spectators began to chuckle. The once tense air that hovered over all present began to dissipate. Joe, Cherry, and Miya all crowded around the red head as Langa helped him sit up.

In the distance Snake/Tadashi wearing a red cap began to draw closer to the finish line. Taking a shaky breath as he hears the boy's cry of happiness. His once lifeless eyes shining as thoughts of the joy and happiness both he and Ainosuke shared as kids learning to skate popped into his head. "I was wrong. I don't need to take skateboarding away from Ainosuke-sama. What I really needed to do is make him love skateboarding the way he used too…..Like these boys do"

Joe bent down giving Reki a once over with his eyes, and his shoulders relaxed a little as Langa helps Reki stand. "You gave us all a heart attack kid."

Cherry smiled proudly at Reki as he leaned back in his wheel chair "I guess I'll alter my assessment of you." Cherry let out a breath of relief seeing that the kid still had the energy to laugh.

Miya was swiping his left fist over his eyes trying to hide how wet and red they were "Not bad for a slime!" he said with a relived smile seeing that Reki was alive. His other arm was wrapped tightly around Reki's board, missing the wheel that had flown off earlier.

Reki grins at them all basking in the glow of knowing he tried his best, and had fun doing it!

Adam stood and began to take slow shaky steps towards the group, mud dripping from him with each step as he drew closer.

Whispers began to spread throughout the gathered crowd "This doesn't look good" someone said loud enough for everyone here.

Langa quickly stepped in front of Reki trying to shield Reki from Adam's view. Cherry twisted in his wheelchair sending Adam a threatening glare. Miya was on the other side of Reki, opposite Langa, his free hand grasping the back of Reki's hoodie ready to pull the red head away if needed.

Joe rushed forward and stepped into Adam's path, physically stopping the blue haired man covered in mud. "Stop it, the beef is over." Joe said sternly giving Adam a little shove that ended up sending the man stumbling back a few steps.

"You really think a nobody like you successfully fought back like that?" Adam ground out through clenched teeth. A fire in his eyes no one can see due to his mask, eyes fixed on Reki.

Reki watched Adam for a moment then whispered from behind Langa "Joe said to me before: Don't ever end up by yourself". Reki stepped forward stopping next to Langa and looked Adam straight in the eyes, standing his ground even as he could feel his wounds aching and his head wound starting to slightly bleed again.

"Yeah actually, I do." Reki's voice didn't quiver or shake as he spoke never breaking eye contact with Adam.

Reki clenched his fists at his sides as he spoke. Each sentence slowly growing louder "Unlike you when I race, I go all in. I give every race everything I got." Reki raises his left arm out pointing his finger at Adam's face. "I don't hold back, and I expect my opponent to do the same." Reki makes a swiping motion with the same hand gesturing to around them. "I'm proud of what I've accomplished." A wide smile breaks across Reki's face "Because I had fun!"

The absolute bliss and pure delight that radiates from Reki makes Adam freeze up for a moment. Unknowingly captivating the man, his once boiling anger simmering down. Long enough for Snake to intervene.

Snake in his red cap and green jacket stepped in front of Adam blocking his path and view of Reki, snapping Adam from his trance.

Adam growled out "Step aside! I'll deal with you next!" His commanding tone directed at Tadashi as his gaze finally strayed from Reki.

Snake didn't look away from Adam as he spoke. "About the beef with Snow…. I'm going to forfeit." Multiple audible gasps can be heard from the crowd through the rain that is falling outside the factory.

That single sentence caught everyone's attention. Adam narrowed his eyes watching Tadashi's face in disbelief. Then he growled at Tadashi in confusion "What!?".

"With this it will become a three-way race. They both are better suited for your needs… to regain your love." Tadashi stood firm before Adam. Rain falling heavily outside the factory as the crowd begins to disperse slowly. Now that the outcome for the final race has been decided.

Adam stands silently for a moment, still dripping from the rain facing Tadashi. Then his eyes, still hidden by the mask, flicker to Reki; who due to his injuries has now slung an arm over Langa's shoulder to remain standing. Both Langa and Reki are watching Adam closely.

Adam speaks softly, but still loud enough for all to hear "If you are insinuating that I lead a lonely existence" A heartbeat of silence later Adam continues "You are correct" Adam's eyes shift to Snow.

"I'm the only one who can survive in my world. However, there will soon be another." Adam for some reason can't seem to keep his eyes solely focused on Snow like usual, they keep drifting to Reki.

Adam is looking at both Snow and Reki when he says "And together we will fall, infinitely. We will become Adam and Eve for a new age." Lightning flashes in the distance behind Adam, casting him in shadow. The only thing that can be seen in that moment is the glowing red eyes behind his mask as he reaches a hand out towards Snow, and Reki.

Thunder booms and Adam turns around sharply, kicking his board up with his foot into his right hand. He slings his board over his shoulder letting it hang down is back. Adam begins to walk away, waving goodbye with his left hand. He doesn't look back as he calls out in a voice filled with promise.

"Till we meet again my Eve!"

Notes: Hi all! It's been ages since I have posted anything on FFN I've mostly been using Ao3, I go by WrongButton on Ao3, but figured I should post my newest story here ^.^

Man, this idea has been floating around in my head for ages.

The plot bunnies are beginning to multiply in my head. I recently got back into the Sk8 fandom. Damn I hope season 2 comes out this year.

I have not been able to find a story like this, so I decided to write it myself. Please be nice. It's been a few years since I have written any fan fiction. Hopefully, I'll have another chapter up in a week. And yes, English is my first and only language.
