Chapter 1: Nono's Not Leaving
Noah Puckerman, a 29-year-old, was perched by the hospital bed of three-year-old Tracy Anderson, engrossed in reading her "Sleeping Beauty" as she lay unconscious. Tracy and her parents had been in a car crash on their way to Quinn Fabray's baby shower. Her parents, Blaine and Kurt Anderson, soon hobbled in on crutches, trailed by Kurt's parents, Burt and Carole Hummel. Noah kept reading the storybook, even as Quinn walked in and informed Kurt, "He hasn't left her side since they admitted you guys. Puck's mom told me Tracy only responds to Puck's voice." Soon, everyone heard him crooning "Forever" from the TV series "Full House."
Noah then turned to Blaine and confessed, "Beth stopped talking to me a month ago. She's thirteen now, and I had to watch her grow up in pictures. Shelby cut off all contact with me on Tracy's third birthday. On Tracy's first night here, she wouldn't let go of my fingers. So, I promised her I wouldn't leave and stay until she was ready to wake up."
He then glanced at the storybook and shared, "My mom got me this book when Quinn told me she was pregnant again. I heard that song on a TV show I watched as a kid, and it made me think of Beth."
Noah looked at Quinn, anger flaring before he exploded, "Why did you say no, Quinn? I'm not that loser anymore! Were you lying when you said you would rather have a hard relationship with me than have an easy relationship with anyone else? Quinn, I will not watch another child grow up in pictures!" Then Noah clutched his chest and collapsed on the floor, causing his mother, Norah, to rush into the room. Norah and Quinn discovered that Noah had suffered a heart attack. Norah quickly moved Noah into Tracy's hospital room, and everyone noticed their heads turned toward each other.
One day, Norah entered the room, hearing Blaine yelling at Kurt, "Puck could die and can't be moved to another room because his being here keeps Tracy alive! Our daughter loves Puck, and he loves her, Kurt! Have you ever thought about how I feel here? I hate that I have to be in a room three floors away from her and that she is still in that bed. I hate that we get to go home, and she has to stay here! Likewise, I'm sure Puck's mom feels the same way, and so does Quinn. Why don't you return to our hospital room if you can't stand it here?" Then Kurt hobbled out of the room, clutching his crutches and crying. As Norah sat at Noah's bedside, Blaine sang along to "If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks as the video played on the TV in the room.
Then he looked at Norah and shared, "The first time she met Puck was at her second birthday party when he came dressed as the Hulk. The funny thing is that it wasn't even a costume party; he had green body paint on and cutoff shorts. Tracy was in love with him from that day on. Beth was there with Shelby and got jealous of all the attention Puck was giving Tracy. I might not like that Tracy loves Puck, but if his presence keeps her alive, I'm okay with them being in the same room. How is Quinn? I heard from Santana that she moved in with you."
Norah looked at Noah and revealed, "I just admitted her to the hospital because stress over Puck being here almost caused her to go into labor." A moment later, they heard Quinn and Kurt arguing.
Then they heard Burt command, "Enough! Both of you go back to your hospital rooms. Tracy and Puck don't need to hear you argue right now."
Then he walked in, followed by Rachel and Carole. Rachel didn't stay long after seeing Tracy looking like she was asleep. Blaine looked at Noah and confessed, "I called Shelby after Puck slipped into a coma. I tried to get her to come here, but she wouldn't. Rachel told me Shelby won't let her talk about Puck or Quinn around Beth."
He glanced at Burt and admitted, "I don't know how you got through the day when Kurt's mom was in a coma. I feel like I'm going crazy and want to throw something." which made Norah laugh as she looked at Noah.
Then she told Blaine, "Puck already did that for you. I think the real reason Tracy wouldn't let go of his hand was because he was close to being thrown out the night she came here. Plus, Puck was the only person who didn't annoy her. I would hear some nurses talking negatively about you or Kurt around her, and she got so mad one time her heart monitor went off. Ha, Quinn and I both think Tracy acts like Puck."
Blaine looked at Burt and teased, "You owe me 20 dollars, Burt. I told you that Tracy acts more like Puck than Santana." Then Norah and Carole glared at Burt as he handed the money to Blaine.
After Blaine and Kurt got to go home, they returned to find Quinn sobbing as she sang along to "Forever Love" by Reba McEntire while a video of her playing the song played on TV.
Then she went over to Tracy and kissed her on the forehead. Before she whispered, "I'm sorry, I hurt your prince, Tracy." She soon broke down as Tracy refused to let go of her hand. Then she touched her belly and sang "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty as she looked from Noah to Tracy.
She looked at Rachel and declared, "Don't say it. I don't want to give up on Puck."
Then she pointed at Tracy and yelled, "Tracy may love Puck, but let's face it, Rachel. He thinks of your daughter as his own! He would eat here, sleep here, and go days without a shower just so that she wouldn't be alone! Puck only reacts when someone upsets Tracy! Do you know how many times he almost died after Tracy reacted to someone calling Kurt or Blaine fags? Rachel, leave now. Go!" Rachel looked at Tracy and Noah, then Burt, as she left without saying a word.
Quinn noticed The Notebook playing on TV and told Burt, "I get how Allie felt about Noah Calhoun now. My parents were like hers and set me up with Biff. I watched this movie before I was admitted here and almost went into labor thinking about Puck. I turned him down because I thought he was like you, not his dad. I just said that because I couldn't face the truth. Mr. H, I'm having a boy. I hope Puck is half the dad you are to Kurt."
Burt looked at Tracy as he revealed, "Someone thinks you and Puck are Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff in disguise and had me make your baby a Hulk doll at Build-A-Bear." Then he got a bag from under Tracy's bed and handed it to Quinn.
He glanced at Noah as he shared, "I gave Puck the doll when Tracy was admitted here. He compared you to another Ali from the movie Burlesque and called himself a tough lover."
Quinn chuckled as she whispered, "More like Dr. Long John!" Burt glared at her and shook his head, chuckling.
Quinn sat up straighter as she revealed, "Puck had Elizabeth's diary, and I found two pictures of you. Kurt only knows about the pictures. The diary is in my purse. I found her diary in a drawer, and Puck had a page bookmarked with a picture of Beth. He has a journal replying to several of her diary entries, talking about Puck's dad. Plus, letters to her apologizing for everything he did to Kurt."
She looked at Noah and asked, "I'm naming this baby after Puck. I don't know if Tracy will wake up, but I'm glad she has Puck here. Do you think they can hear us, Mr. H?"
Burt took Quinn's hand as he assured her, "Yes."
Quinn woke up to Norah crying and saw Burt comforting her as she confessed, "How could Carole handle losing Finn? I know. Puck is not dead, Burt, but you heard the doctor. Even if he woke up, Puck would probably be in a wheelchair like Artie."
Soon, Burt took Norah out of the room, and Quinn sang "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella as Blaine entered alone. Blaine looked at Noah as he told Quinn, "I couldn't sleep."
He sat beside Tracy's bedside and continued, "Kurt wanted me to ask you if you wanted to move in with us."
Quinn looked at Noah and agreed, "I would be glad to. Do you think they will wake up soon?" Before Blaine could reply, Quinn cried until she fell asleep. Burt entered with two cups of coffee.
Then he kissed Tracy's forehead and settled down next to Blaine. He glanced at Quinn and said, "We both know Kurt doesn't want them living with you. You know, Norah is heading there after her shift ends."
Before Blaine could respond, they heard Norah shout, "Kurt, they're not going to die! How could you say that to me?" She soon stormed in with a cot and laid down on it without speaking to Burt or Blaine. Then Burt left as Judy Fabray walked in.
She looked at Tracy and said, "You're not the only one trying to get Beth to see them. I was told they had seen her on Tracy's birthday, but only Quinn knew she was there. According to Quinn, all of Puck's focus was on Tracy."
Judy sighed and said, "I came here on Tracy's first night after a fight with Quinn. I found Puck asleep in her bed, holding a baby picture of Beth. Don't tell Norah, but I think Quinn is clinging to Tracy, too." Blaine shot her a glare but said nothing.
Blaine brushed Tracy's hair out of her face and told Judy, "Quinn will move in with Kurt and me as soon as she is released. I told Quinn that Kurt wanted me to ask her, but it was a lie. The truth is, I know that's what Tracy would want."
Judy and Norah asked, "Are you sure you are Tracy's father?"
Blaine rolled his eyes and stated, "I knew you two would ask that. That's another reason I am here. I fought with Kurt about her acting like Puck twice already. That's also why we didn't notice the truck that hit us."
He sighed and continued, "Puck was on the phone with Shelby when he came to see Tracy. Beth got on the phone and told him to drop dead. He tried to leave, and Tracy's heart monitor went off. He didn't hold her hand. He climbed into bed with her and sang along to 'My Little Girl' as it played on his phone. He didn't even notice I was there, and you are the only ones I told."
Then Quinn said, "After Tracy was admitted, I asked Puck to come home so many times I lost count. I didn't know about Beth telling him to drop dead until now, and I can't believe Kurt thinks Tracy and Puck will die." Soon, Burt returned and asked to talk to Judy alone.
They headed to the cafeteria before Burt said, "I talked to Rachel, and Puck has been trying to see Beth since Tracy was born. Rachel made Shelby bring her, and when he saw her, he didn't recognize her because she dyed her hair black."
Judy asked, "Why are you telling me this?"
Then she heard Rachel say, "I was afraid that if he told Puck's mom, she would be the next one to have a heart attack. Plus, I didn't want Quinn to lose the baby."
Rachel approached them, continuing, "Plus, I thought you should know. Shelby has been telling Beth that you wanted Quinn to abort her."
Soon, Norah ran past them before they heard her say over the P.A. system, "Code blue, code blue! Room 127! Code blue, code blue!" Knowing it was Noah and Tracy's room, they raced back, noticing the doctors and nurses working on Tracy.
When Tracy was stable, Blaine stormed out, grabbing Rachel. Then he said, "That's it! I've had enough! Shelby thinks Puck has a temper! Just wait!" Judy looked at Burt as she chuckled but said nothing and sat beside Quinn's bedside.
As Quinn woke up in the morning, she heard a beeping noise before she was rushed to the operating room with Burt by her side. Soon, Noah Elijah Puckerman Jr. was born, and Quinn heard, "Code blue, code blue! Room 127! Code blue, code blue!" She broke down, thinking Noah was dead, and stared at Junior as she was wheeled back to the room.
She soon noticed Noah was awake, while Blaine was in Tracy's bed holding her as he sobbed. Noah tried to speak, but Quinn couldn't understand him. Then Quinn heard Tracy trying to talk as Blaine cried harder because he couldn't understand her.
Then Tracy yelled, "Nono's bed!" Blaine wiped his eyes before putting Tracy in Noah's bed.
Tracy has her head against Noah's and says, "Strong, Hulk! Right, Nono?"
As Burt entered, Noah grunted, and Tracy said, "Right!" Repeatedly.
Tracy looked at Quinn and asked, "Did I miss your baby?"
Norah entered with Junior and said, "Almost. You almost missed Uncle Puck waking up, too."
They soon heard Kurt on the phone, yelling, "Beth, I almost lost Tracy! Your parents miss you so much. They are sharing a room with my daughter!"
There was a pause as Kurt entered the room. Then Quinn took his phone before she yelled, "Tracy might have come from Rachel, but she could have been my daughter! Beth, we didn't want to give you up!"
Beth yelled, "Liar! You never wanted me, and I don't want you! Go to hell!" and ended the call. Soon Quinn had a heart attack and Judy went with her.
Noah looked at Burt, who said, "Quinn asked to room with you when she got close to her due date."
Noah broke down and repeated, "Your Beth."
Burt took his hand and said, "You're here, Puck. Now, don't make me say it."
Noah rolled his eyes, and Tracy said, "Grandpa Burt, give Nono a break."
Tracy glared at Kurt as she yelled, "Nono was here. Where were you? Papa was here! Where were you? Everybody was here. Where were you?"
She slapped Kurt and yelled, "You were only here once, and Nono slept here!" She buried her head in Noah's chest as Noah pointed to the door.
After Noah and Tracy were discharged, Tracy insisted that Blaine take her to see Beth. Santana accompanied them and told Blaine, "Rachel has been trying to convince Beth that Puck and Quinn never intended to give her to Shelby. Beth heard stories about Puck's dad and assumed Puck didn't want her either. Rachel told me Beth believed Puck forced Quinn to give her up and felt guilty after Shelby adopted her."
Blaine glanced at Tracy, asleep in her car seat, and told Santana, "Beth tried to make Tracy believe that Rachel had abandoned her the last time Kurt and I took her to see Rachel. Tracy thought Jesse was her dad until she saw my baby pictures. Tracy wanted us to go to New York on the day of the accident, and she reminded me of Puck. Kurt and I fought about it after I jokingly called her She-Puck. I didn't notice the truck, and I blacked out when we crashed. The truck hit the back passenger side of my car, where Tracy was sitting, and I thought she was dead. The day Puck came to see her, she smiled through the breathing tube as he sang to her."
Chapter 2 should be up soon. I know. I edit too much, but I want to like my story too.
