Announcement:
It's been about 7 months since I last updated. I don't want to keep you all waiting for an update so I'll just let this out. Bad news: I am going to cancel this fanfic because I have too many things to work with throughout the year along with the fact that I lost motivation to continue this fanfic after going into hiatus.
Originally, I wrote this fanfic with the intention to finish it someday. But then the hiatus eventually killed off this intention. This fanfic was supposed to include decks such as the Despia/Branded, Sky Striker, Pendulum Magician/Zarc, Swordsoul, Tri-Brigade, Spright/Springans and OTK (used by jobber level villian characters). But to be honest, I feel like this is too much commitment for me to do all of that. So what I would do is to give a run down on what is going to happen. The planned cards will be onto duel notes.
Story wise:
Yusaku was supposed to go under depression because of how much he lost his ignis which made it worse by losing duels. He would later think of himself as the Dark Ignis Ai as a coping mechanism while using the alias of Apprentice by thinking that Playmaker had died bringing him back. (Revolver would be the first to notice something was wrong about Apprentice from "You are someone that we met before. Didn't we?" to "When will you stop pretending, 'Dark Ignis'.") (Season 4 would leave an impression that Apprentice is Ai while Season 5 reveals that Apprentice is Playmaker) Yusaku's past would be the worst among the 6 other victims because he had lost his family after the lost incident because his parents were divorced while his sister died to an illness. He couldn't go back to his parents because his father would also die to an unknown cause while his mother is missing throughout the fic, having basically no one to turn into which would further amplify his desire for revenge against the Hanoi in season 1 because he had nothing to lose at this point. Losing Ai made Yusaku lose purpose in life.
There would be a mini arc in season 5 that tells about Ai's alternate future which lead him to turn onto humanity. Yusaku would duel against Ai to stop him which would play out exactly in Episode 117 to 120 except that during Ai's final turn, Ai would summon the Link 4 Dark Skirmisher (by starting off with normal summoning Bururu atIgnister into Linguriboh and then using Lingruboh and Dark Knight into Dark Skirmisher and attack Decode Talker for game with Dark Skirmisher's effect.). After the defeat, Ai would go on to enact his plan with the Season 5 antagonist to stop humanity until Yusaku is killed in which he makes an enemy out of everyone.
After chapter 19, Sota's group would agree to join Archer for protection away from Hanoi in exchange for their assistance. Hanoi would eventually track down Sota which Zephyr will duel against Revolver (and will use Clear Wing Synchro Dragon/Assault Mode) and win (Though later it reveals that Revolver is testing them). Then SOL would eventually start a civil war within the kings which Archer (as Blue King) asked Playmaker's group to help take down the other Kings. Red King would gather Queen, Bishop, Knight and Rook to do the same with his Pawn Ais. The Yellow King (who is the Season 5 antagonist) would watch how everything would play out until he send his "Reapers" to finish the job. World Traveler will trade Accesscode Talker with Apprentice's IP:Masquena.
There are some interactions I would have wanted to put such as how Soulburner compares Zephyr to Windy while Zephyr wants to know about his own ignis (honestly this happened because of his duel against Windy and I find that part interesting as Flame talks about how Windy wasn't so cruel back then. There are some interactions between them that we never know about), what Thunder Emperor thinks of Revolver (continued hatred until understanding) and Apprentice being a mentor figure to World Traveler while the latter is friends with Blue Maiden in the middle of it. They all would know their real identities at some point though.
World Traveler, Soulburner, Blue Maiden, Specter (I forgot how), Zephyr and Thunder Emperor would face against the Pawn Ais that uses the Ignis decks (atIgnister without the OC cards, Salamangreat, Marincess, G Golem, Storm Rider and Armatos Legio representively) (Zephyr's duel in that case would be special because he would see how his ignis would behave and would find out that Windy is the one behind the car incident.). And then later, Soulburner would rematch against Rook and win using Raging Phoenix while Blue Maiden beats queen, World Traveler beats Knight (who was behind the creation of the World Legacy deck 5 years ago), Apprentice beating Bishop and Archer defeating Red King. But during the latter duel of the duel, the "Reapers" would appear and start to defeat almost everyone in Playmaker's group.
Thunder Emperor would face against Dragon in a very violent duel because the former is the person that Dragon is after. In that duel, it would involve actual fighting in Link Vrains. Duelists would lose 100-500 LP if they get hit by those depending on how serious they were. Season 4 would end in Thunder Emperor losing his Predaplant Verte Annaconda and also being in the verge of death after being defeated by Dragon (yes it's virtual but that duel made it such that whoever dies here would be brain dead in the real world because your conscious became one with its data counterpart, losing your conscious data is equivalent to deleting it.).
In Season 5, Archer would be shocked that the Yellow King was in fact the Season 5 antagonist who was behind the incident 5 years ago about a hack which would socially and economically affect the world. It was stopped through the sacrifice of 4 boys. Those boys were Thunder Emperor, World Traveler, Zephyr and Dragon. World Traveler and Zephyr were involved during the event until the day of the raid where they were instead involved in their own agendas (World Traveler was after Knight for the World Legacy cards while Zephyr is after his parents' killer). Dragon would be the boy (who fell into despair) that I had foreshadowed in Chapter 1-4. The other 3 boys would have their memories of this erased.
The Transmulation Program would be known as a program that protects their user from any sort of hacking that leaks their personal information at a cost of causing connection and latency issues with the user while potentially inducing split personality disorders due to how much separation between the user's conscious and their own conscious data not being in sync. This program had an unintended effect such that if they had used it frequent/long enough (as long as 5 years), it grants the users a "special power" that they can emulate in Link Vrains which can also affect the real world. World Traveler isn't decided, Zephyr would have the power to generate data storms and manipulating speed and velocities of any kind. Thunder Emperor has the ability to glitch anything (even if its unintended) into or out existence (which explains how his Thunder Dragon Ritual/Synchro/Xyz/Pendulum/Link cards has changed) and Dragon would be basically destruction.
The Yellow King plans to control the world by first taking over Link Vrains by first taking all of those certain cards. Those cards are Herald of Mirage Lights, Predaplant Verte Annaconda, Crystron Halqifibrax, Bujin Asashima, Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and IP:Masquena. Those cards had an effect that allows them to be used outside of a duel which they plan to amplify it onto the Link Vrains to violate Link Vrains's programming. They would eventually succeed and duels begin to devolve by taking onto earlier rulings such as Master Rule 4, Master Rule 3 and so on until the rules no longer matter. This would first be noticed by duelists drawing on the first turn of the duel.
Then Yellow King would proceed to finish his plan. Thunder Emperor would against face his main enemy Reaper (mentioned below) while also facing Dragon immediately after that. The latter duel is the same fighting duel except this time Thunder Emperor would use cards from World Traveler and Zephyr to beat Dragon. Then came the part that Thunder Emperor, World Traveler and Zephyr faces against Yellow King while also using their "powers" to stop Yellow King and win.
After that, it'll be an epilogue arc that covers how everything would go for the future. Yusaku stops being Playmaker because he no longer had a reason to do so. Blue Angel retires from dueling and has never showed up in Link Vrains. However, Aoi still goes into Link Vrains as Blue Maiden from time to time. Takeru returns to his hometown while keeping touch of Sora. Sora would finally move on from his past after having all the answers he gotten from that. Akechi would take up a computer science course at some point while Sota tries to start anew his friendship with Dragon in real life while being undecided about his own future. The final duel would be Sota vs Akechi. The last turns would end with Thunder Dragon Titan defeating Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avermax. And the fanfic would end here.
Deck wise, I'll just say out the idea here while planned cards will be on duel notes fic.
The major Reaper's decks (4/5 of them) would be the Albaz lore decks while the last one would be using Pendulum Magician/Zarc deck. These people would act as major villians to Thunder Emperor/World Traveler/Zephyr in season 5. The not important reapers would either be using OTK decks or their own versions with Branded cards in it. These reapers are
Gunman: Despia/Branded deck and will later incoporate Bystials. Gunman would also use other summoning methods as the below reapers would be defeated. (This would be face against Thunder Emperor on several occasions, going from beating Thunder Emperor multiple times into being beaten by Thunder Emperor on the final round. Revolver would help Thunder Emperor during one of those duels which leads into a draw.)
Paladin: Swordsoul/Tenyi (Faces against Zephyr. Zephyr would pull a Accel Synchro and win against this)
Hunter: Springans but later change to Spright/Frogs (This might have faced against World Traveler but I'm not 100% on this. This would face most of the main original Vrains cast though.)
Sorcerer: Pendulum Magicians/Zarc (Not going to lie, I was contemplating if I should make him Zarc from Arc V. But I did custom made some cards based on fanfics I read before. But regardless of THAT, he would be responsible of murdering Zephyr's parents.)
Assassin: Sky Striker but later change into Tri-Bridage. (Faces against World Traveler. This character would draw against Blood Shepred in the first round using Sky Striker while Blood Shepered pulls his Drone Xyz monster but later beats him and Ghost Girl in the second round by using Tri-Bridage)
Dragon's deck may have started off as Eldlich. But he would late change his deck into his true deck which focuses on banishing cards in order for those cards to activate while being banished (and they are continous). Dragon also uses staple cards such as Ash Blossom, Called by the Grave, Solemn Strike, etc in both of his decks. (Looks at you meta duelists, I know you guys run that kind of stuff too).
