Chapter 36
10pm
Those who wanted to go, went. The theater was empty for the rest of the day, which left the private show for tonight. The concessions were still open for everyone to grab a snack, as such, Suiryu waited for everyone to get what they needed before inviting the employees in to see the movie as well.
Yua sat behind Sukuna who was trying to keep Ryoto calm. The kid was bouncing in his seat. "We're going to watch it! We really are!" he said through his excited jitters.
"It hasn't even started yet boy, calm yourself!" Sukuna scolded.
"I think he is more excited to see how well it turned out." Yua whispered to him. "So as such… just enjoy the moment."
He signed and said nothing more. When everyone was seated, the lights dimmed and the movie played.
Yua was more than familiar with the story, but she loved the extra details that went into the past event that Zelda fell into. The build up and story of Ganondorf was very compelling and it made sense too! There were even parts that made him sound rather concerned for his people. In fact, he had a good shouting match with the character Rauru.
"You descend from the heavens and yet you don't know the suffering of the people of this world… You claim to be here, sent here to be the king, when you are not of this land! How DARE you!" Ganondorf shouted.
"You know not of the pain and suffering the people go through. MY PEOPLE had it worst of all, we lived in the desert for it was the only land we could obtain, and yet we barely have water, we barely have food… did you not consider this?" he asked bitterly.
"Ganondorf, you are passionate about your people. I understand that more than anyone…"
"You know nothing." He said in a cold and yet oddly gentle tone. "And yet… your people are all but dying out… You and your… sister appear to be the last of your kind… tell me… if you are so advance as people… why are there so few of you? Did you depend too much on your advancement in technology that you failed to advance and strength your people properly? If that is so… how can you possibly be king?"
Yua was rendered silent… this Ganondorf states rather obvious and blunt things, but it rendered Rauru silent. He stammered, unable to reply.
"Just as I thought…" Ganondorf turned his back, he started to walk away before he turned his head far enough to say. "If I were you, I would prioritize my people's survival… than a makeshift dream. Or are you greedy? You want to rule but have no people to do so… Perhaps… we're not too far apart on that notion…"
He walked out of the room, and took the air with it…

When the movie ended, there was silence.
"Holy shit that was good!" came out of Nao.
People giggled but Suiryu sighed. "Sadly I cannot correct that, she's right… that was a good movie considering…"
"Indeed, it came together well…" Sukuna said offhandedly. "What do you think Ryoto?"
Yet peering down, Yua snickered.
Ryoto fell asleep.
Sukuna rolled his eyes to it all and shook his head. "He was upset he couldn't see it earlier, but now he was about to, he falls asleep!" he protested.
"He's a little boy, but he stayed up until the sword dance." Chusi explained.
"Still… damn…" came out of Satoru. "If I didn't know any better, I would say someone had fun…"
"It wasn't amusing. Not until the end…" Sukuna suddenly paused, the movie was over, but it was still going.
Suddenly there were behind the scenes footage, there was one of him looking mummified and everyone was gathering around him. "You are going to see some fine acting. At the same time, here's hoping this scares the shit out of him…" he took his spot on the table and went motionless…
Yua and everyone watched as the first part of the movie was being shot, but it's what happened after. Sukuna went limp as soon as CUT was shouted. The actor who played Link was stating how fake the Ganondorf dummy was.
Then it shows Sukuna sitting up, stretching out and scratching himself as the Link actor went on and on about the 'puppet' on the table. It showed Sukuna taking his dear sweet time getting off the table, before standing behind this guy and tapping his shoulder.
When they locked eyes, Sukuna leaned down. Yua lost it when Sukuna shouted. "ENLIGHTEN ME!" But she also heard the sound from the Link actor… a vacating of the bowels before he fell back and fainted.
The movie ended with Ryoto calling out. "WE NEED WARDROBE HERE…. AND A MOP!"
Everyone lost it in the theater!
Chusi was in tears from that, and it was all the sweeter that everyone else thought it was hilarious.
"I got to admit… that was remarkable acting… and your lines were made up on the spot?" Yua asked of him.
Sukuna smiled rather proudly. "I do tend to know what to say…"
"No argument…" came from the theatre.
"Congrats, Oji, great job!" came out of Rook.
"Indeed, when it's not too busy, I want to see this again," said Shin.
Sukuna paused oddly. "You would see it again? Why?"
Everyone snickered to this, Sukuna is more like a 'one and done' sort of person. When he has seen it before, he is over it and knows it.
"Well, there are other details in the movie we may overlook, sometimes that happens, but I got to admit, I love the story. Honestly, I think you made this movie!" said Rook.
The other children nodded in agreement.
"So that's what you used the equipment for huh? Maybe I ought to get into the movie business…" Muta said offhandedly.
"Go for it!" Yua cheered. "If anything, I think it would be great. You can save a TON on special effects…"
"Also, don't forget your promise!" Muta said suddenly.
This made everyone pause. "Promise?" Suiryu asked. "This ought to be good…"
Sukuna sighed. "His girlfriend's binding vow…" he muttered. "She cannot swing a katana… therefore I promised to train her on another weapon. It won't break the vow, and she won't be empty handed."
Chusi paused to this. "You made a promise and kept it! Good for you, hon! In fact, let me take care of this one…"
He was surprised, so was everyone else. "Why?" he asked.
She smiled sweetly, standing up from he seat she approached Junpei and gently placed her hands on his shoulders. "Because you missed an opportunity the last time."
There was silence, Sukuna himself was rendered rather still as he glared at Junpei, who shrugged his shoulders, not knowing what it was about either!
She giggled and explained. "You said so yourself, you are a master chanter… why didn't you teach him? He could out chant you!" she said.
Junpei paused. "Oh yeah, there is chanting in sorcery…" he said offhandedly, then paused. "HEY! YOU didn't teach me any of that!"
"You didn't chant to begin with!" he snapped back. "If you didn't, what's the point in having you learn it when it wasn't part of your skill set before?!"
Yua rolled her eyes and laughed. It's the Tooru coming out in Chusi, when there is an obvious talent in someone, of course they encourage that even if the sorcerer was a novice. But Chusi is right. Junpei would have been a very formidable chanter… he could have out chanted Sukuna.
"Anyways…" he muttered once more. "I will do better…"
"You stick with Rook, Muta is that okay?"
"I would actually prefer it…" Miwa said gently.
"Then it's settled!"
"Tsk…" muttered Sukuna, but he turned to Rook. "We're going hunting tomorrow."
"Sweet!"

The next morning.
It would nearly be 10am the next morning.
Ryoto has yet to wake up.
"Is that boy getting sleepy or what?" Sukuna muttered.
Chusi was about to speak, until a loud BANG was heard up the stairs, in fact, it sounded as if large furniture broke.
They rushed up the stairs to see what happened, strange sounds were coming from Ryoto's room. "BOY!?" Sukuna called.
"DON'T COME IN!"
He froze instantly. Chusi did as well when a more mature voice came through the door. She backed away but nodded.
"You're mother isn't stepping in, but I am, is that okay?"

"Please… bring something for me to wear…"
Sukuna sighed aloud as he turned to Chusi. "Now I understand what I put Yua through and how she felt…"
