Hey, everyone. Here is the 5D's part of this story. I was hoping to get this done sooner but things came up and I had to take care of them. I hope that you enjoy this Duel and how it turns out.

Chapter 07: Duel of Two Neo Dominos

Neo Domino City - Memorial Circuit

Fireworks were going off around the stadium as many people came to watch the Fortune Cup tournament and see who will have the chance of taking on the current Duel King, Jack Atlas.

In the hallway, Rua was with Ruka, Teppei, Yusei, Yanagi and Himuro. "I still can't believe I was invited to compete." Rua said.

"Don't you think it's a little suspicious that they sent you an invite, just before the tournament." Ruka gave a skeptical look.

"Well yeah, but nothing we can do about it." Rua then turned to Yusei. "There is nothing we can do about it, right, Yusei?"

"No." Yusei said. "But this tournament isn't normal, you both need to be on your guard."

"Yes sir." Rua sighed and saluted.

Memorial Circuit – Stadium

"Everybody, listen! The Duel of Fortune Cup is finally getting started!" The MC announced as Godwin sat in his chair. The cheerleaders were about to begin their cheer but then the wind became strong and Red Demon's Dragon appeared.

"Making its appearance is Red Demon's Dragon!" Red Demon's flew around the stadium. And the sound of a D-Wheel echoed. "And, are those noises from a D-Wheel I hear?" Jack emerged from the tunnel.

Red Demon's flew towards the center and took a knee as Jack rode up the side wall and landed before his monster. He removed his helmet and the women all cheered. He then raised his finger in the air. "There's only one King! That being me! Who dares to Duel against me?!"

"Duelists with the golden tickets, vying for their dream match with the King! Front and Center!" MC pointed to the ground and arising were the 16 Duelists chosen to participate in the Fortune Cup.

"Wow…" Rua gulped. "It's a big difference being on the field than watching it. Does it get any easier?"

"Not really." Ruka admitted.

"Take deep breaths." Yusei advised. As the twins did that, Yusei spared a glance at Jack.

As pictures of the participants were shown on the screen, when it came to Yusei, the audience started to get uneasy.

"Hey, there's someone with a marker there!"

"You're right!"

"I'd rather them pick me than that guy!"

"Maybe he stole someone's invitation?"

Hearing the murmurs made Rua uncomfortable. "Geez, was the system always this broken."

"Ladies and gentlemen in attendance!" Rua was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a tall and muscular man speaking into the MC's microphone.

"My name is Bomber. As a Duelist up here, I would like to ask exactly what it is you all see." Bomber pointed to Yusei. "This man is undoubtedly a Duelist, selected under the same conditions as we were! If one has cards, marker or no marker, they are the same as everyone else! The people standing her now should be ashamed of nothing! Rather, it is all of you, looking at him through your trivial rose-colored glasses, who are no short of vicious!" Bomber walked back to his spot, giving back the microphone.

"Wow, he's so cool." Rua thought.

"Let's use our Dueling to protect the people that we love and give hope to those lost in despair!" Rua heard saw the red and green hair boy again giving an inspirational speech as well.

"Again." Rua held his head.

Godwin then started applauding which led to the rest of the audience applauding as well. He then stood up and addressed everyone. "Thank you for those empowering words, Bomber."

"The reason I provided an opportunity such was indeed for all the reasons you have spoken. I am Rex Godwin, Director of the Neo Domino City Public Security Maintenance Bureau. I planned this tournament in appreciation for the maintenance of daily public security. To Duelists, neither social status nor the gap between rich and poor matter! True equality rests right here!" Godwin finished his speech and the audience cheered.

"Now, here are you match-ups for the first round!" The computer matched up the opponents. Yusei was facing a cloaked man named Shira, Ruka was facing Bomber and Rua was facing a man simply known as Professor Frank, and he was in the first match.

"The first match. Geez…" Rua started to sweat.

"Since when do you get nervous before a Duel?" Ruka raised an eyebrow to her brother.

"Look it's my first tournament, lay off Miss Prodigy." Rua said.

Private Room

In the Director's section, Godwin and Yeager were getting ready to witness the first Duel. "All the preparations are in order. It is but a matter of time before all the Signers are gathered together." Yeager chuckled before snapping his fingers opening a screen, revealing Akutsu.

"Good morning to you, sir! All preparations are in order here as well." Akutsu bowed. "That just leaves allowing them to Duel at the maximum potential. Any response from the Signers will go through the might Momentum!" Akutsu did his spinning dance. "And here it is sir! My most excellent work!"

"I call it…Sensing Through the D-Sensor!" Akutsu showed a small sensor machine. "We will be able to apprehend a full account of a Signer's response heightened by the Dueling through the Sensors installed in the stadium!"

"I will leave things up to you!" Rex decided to head to King's chamber.

Fortune Cup Waiting Room

In the waiting room, Rua was going through his deck one more time. "Okay, this should do it." Rua inserted his deck into his Duel Disk. Rua looked at his shaking hand.

"Still nervous?" Yusei asked.

"Yeah…but I'm also excited. After my Duel against Yukio, I want to keep getting stronger. That's why I'll give it my all. Win or lose, I'll use that experience to keep growing." Rua smiled.

"I see. That's good. That Yukio gave you a better push than I did." Yusei smiled a bit.

"Well, I better get going." Rua smiled.

"Do your best." Ruka encouraged.

Duel Field

"Now let us introduce the first participants of the Fortune Cup! This is his first official tournament in his young career. Will he start off on his path to victory? The Dark Horse, Rua!" Rua rose from the platform and on the field.

"Whoa…" Rua looked around as the audience started to cheer. "The atmosphere really is different down here."

In the King's Area, Jack and Godwin looked down at Rua. "You're telling me this kid is a Signer?" Jack asked.

"It's a possibility. Yesterday, we received a high energy during a Duel that this boy was involved in. We have reason to believe that he and his twin sisters are two of the Signers we are searching for." Godwin said.

"So, you've suspected the sister for a while. But the brother just suddenly became an interest to you. Is that why you invited him and seven more other Duelists?" Jack asked.

"The level of his energy was as much as when you clashed with Yusei Fudo. I believe that if we are to confirm that he is a Signer, he must be pushed beyond his limits. That's why I invited more, exceptionally talented Duelists for that role." Godwin said.

"And facing the Dark Horse is…the Duel Counselor, Professor Frank!" Professor Frank emerged. He was a middle-aged man in robes and a hat.

He took his place and bowed to Rua. "Pleased to meet your acquaintance, Rua." Frank bowed.

"Same." Rua bowed back.

"Now, what do you say to reawakening that which sleeps within you?" Frank suggested.

"Reawaken what sleeps within me?" Rua then felt a sharp pain in his arm and he twitched a little. "This feeling, like with Yukio."

"Now, let's get this Duel started!" MC announced. Rua and Frank activated their Duel Disks. "First Round! Begin!"

"Duel!" Rua and Frank declared.

Rua LP: 4000, Hand: 5
Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 5

"I'm going first! Draw!" Rua drew his card. "I summon Deformer Clocken (DEF: 1100, LV: 2) in Defense Position!" Rua summoned a clock to the field. "I activate Deformer Clocken's Defense Position Effect! Once per turn, I can place a Deformer Counter on this card!"

Deformer Counter (0→1)

"Next, I activate the Field Magic: Deformer Field!" The field transformed into a map with multiple tools around Rua and Frank. "Then, I set two cards and end my turn!" Rua finished his turn.

"Now, what will this guy do?" Rua looked at Frank

Rua LP: 4000, Hand: 2
Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 5

Frank bowed to Rua. "My turn! Draw! I summon Symmetry Rorschach (ATK: 1200, LV: 4)!" Appearing was some sort of phantom butterfly.

"What in the world?" Rua had never seen that monster before.

"Are you familiar with what's known as the Rorschach Test? This will be a psychological test to help acquire clues that will dispel any insecurities, worries, or doubts you have based on how you feel about this ambiguously-profiled monster. Now, Rua. What does this monster look like to you?" Frank asked.

"What does it look like?" Rua looked at the monster. "It looks like…" At first, Rua thought it looked like a butterfly but it started to change shape. It became a bee like monster.

"Spiral Mind!" Frank gave his attack and his monster released a dark wave.

"I activate my Trap Card: Deform! When my Deformer monster is targeted for an attack, that attack is negated and its Battle Position is changed!" Clocken dodged the attack and entered its Attack Position form. "Clocken's Attack Position effect increases his Attack Points by 600 for every Deformer Counter on it!"

Deformer Clocken (ATK: 600→1200)

"Then, the Field Magic: Deformer Field's effect! Each time a monster's battle position is changed, I can place one Deformer counter on this card and all Deformer monsters on my field gain 300 Attack Points for each counter on this card!" Clocken became stronger.

Deformer Clocken (ATK: 1200→1500)

"I see. This test has revealed to me that you have a battle instinct. When faced to danger, you quickly act to either defend or overpower your opponent. You must have been through some fierce battles." Frank analyzed.

"Fierce battles? I mean, I had a recent intense Duel before but that was the only time. I just reacted on my strategy. Isn't that common?" Rua questioned.

"Yes, that is true. However, you're a different case. Yes, I can sense it. You have something else within you. I wonder if we can unlock it. The memories that are sealed within you."

"Memories sealed within me?" Rua questioned. He then felt sharp pain in his head and chest "What…" The image of the boy with red and green hair appeared and he saw Neo Domino but different.

"I set two cards and end my turn." Frank finished his turn.

Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 3

"I don't like this. I got to end this Duel, now." Rua wiped his sweat. "My turn! Draw!" Rua drew his card. "I summon Deformer Radion (ATK: 1000, LV: 4)!" Rua summoned his radio.

"At this moment, I open my Reverse Card: Guiding Light to the Inner Depths." Frank played his set card. "The opposing player sends five cards from the top of their deck to the Graveyard and adds the sixth card into their hand after both players check it. If they do not play the card during this turn, the opposing player will receive 2000 points of damage."

"Damn…" Rua cursed. He picked the five cards from his deck and sent them to the Graveyard.

"Now, let's see your sixth card." Frank said. Rua drew his card and showed it. "Ah, the Quick-Play Magic: Twister. By paying 500 of your Life Points, you destroy one face-up Magic or Trap Card on the field. Now will you activate it or will you take 2000 points of damage?"

"It's not like I can't activate this card, but that would mean destroying my Field Magic. Tch, there's no choice at all." Rua inserted the card in his Duel Disk. "I destroy Deformer Field!" The twister destroyed the Field Magic while damaging Rua a bit.

Rua LP: 4000→3500

"With Deformer Field gone, so goes the extra 300 Attack Points that were given due to its effect." Yusei analyzed.

Clocken (ATK: 1500→1200)

"I see, you made the choice to keep fighting." Frank said. "Your survival instinct is kicking in. To you win means living while losing means death."

"You're really starting to bug me." Rua said. "But Deformer Field has an effect when it's destroyed! It allows me to Special Summon a Deformer monster from my Graveyard!" Rua took a card from his Graveyard. "I Special Summon Deformer Boardon (DEF: 1800, LV: 3) in Defense Position!" Rua summoned a skateboard to the field.

"And with Radion's Attack Position effect, all Deformer monsters gain 800 Attack Points!" Radion gave power to himself and the others.

Radion (ATK: 1000→1800)
Clocken (ATK: 1200→2000)
Boardon (ATK: 500→1300)

"I activate the Continuous Trap: Gestalt Trap!" Frank played his other set card. "This card will become an Equip card on the opponent's monster! I equip it to Radion!" The trap reached out to Radion and pinned him down.

Radion (ATK: 1800→0)

"Radion's Attack Points!" Rua's eyes widened.

"The equipped monster has its Monster Effect negated, and has both its Attack and Defense Points reduced to 0." Frank said. "Which mean that your other monsters lose their power ups."

Clocken (ATK: 2000→1200)
Boardon (ATK: 1300→500)

"Damn, this isn't good. Should I go ahead and switch Clocken's Battle Position and use its effect. No, I need all the monsters I can against this guy." Rua took a calm breath. "I end my turn." Rua finished his turn.

Rua LP: 3500, Hand: 2
Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 3

"My turn! Draw!" Frank drew his card. "I release Symmetry Rorschach to Advance Summon Id the Supreme Devil (ATK: 2200, LV: 6)!" Frank summoned larger fiend to the field and it made a loud roar, shaking the field.

"Wh-What is this monster?" Rua sweated a bit. "I don't like this, I have to get rid of it, quickly."

"Hey, there's the brat again!" Rua's eyes widened as he heard voices in his head.

"You think just cause you're a former Top, you get special treatment!"

"You're a Common Scum now, and you'll be treated as one."

"What are these voices?" Rua held his head.

"I hear them as well, Rua. Yes, these are your other memories." Frank said. "Let's see them now. I activate the Field Magic: Dark Side of Memories!" The field transformed around them. "Now, let's see those memories."

Rua looked around as the field changed. He saw large cities rising above him into the sky while he was in a dirty alleyway with rundown buildings. "This is…Neo Domino…but it's different." Rua for some reason knew this place was Neo Domino but not the one he was familiar with.

"Battle! Id the Supreme Devil, attack Deformer Clocken! Violent Egoism!" Id charged and stomped on Deformer Clocken. Rua grunted from the attack as he took damage.

Rua LP: 3500→2500

Id removed his foot to reveal Clocken still on the field. "What is this?" Frank wondered.

"Deformer Boardon's Defense Position effect. It prevents my Deformer monsters from being destroyed in battle." Rua panted.

"Ah, so you have a plan for your monsters, in that case, I better get rid of them all. Dark Side of Memories' effect activates!" The field started to change and soon Rua and Frank found themselves surrounded by Security Officers.

"Security?" Rua looked around.

"There's the brat!"

"Restrain him!"

"Argh!" Rua groaned in pain as officers forced him on the ground. "What is—Argh!" Rua's scream echoed in the arena and the audience all gasped as one of the officers twisted Rua's arms so hard that it was pulled out of his socket.

"Rua!" Ruka yelled in worry while Yusei was shocked by what he saw. One of the other contestants, a beautiful girl closed her eyes and looked away from the screen.

"Hey, isn't this going too far?!" Jack shouted at Godwin.

"This card's effect activates when a Dark-type monster on my field fails to destroy one of your monsters in battle. It forces my opponent to skip their next turn." Frank revealed.

"What?" Rua asked.

"Silence trash!" An officer slammed Rua's head on the ground.

"Damn…is this what Security did to Yusei…And they're supposed to be the good guys?" Rua thought.

"I end my turn." Frank finished his turn.

Rua LP: 2500, Hand: 2
Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 2

Rua grunted as the officers applied more pressure. "Due to my Field Magics effect, your turn is skipped. My turn! Draw!" Frank drew his card. "I activate the Magic Card: Black Hole! This card destroys all monsters on the field!" A large black hole formed in the middle of the field and it destroyed all of the monsters.

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Resurrection of the Dead! I revive the Deformer Radion from your Graveyard!" Radion appeared on Frank's field. "Radion's Attack Position increases its Attack Points by 800!"

Radion (ATK: 1000→1800)

"Feel the pain from your own monster! Radion! Direct Attack!" Radion attacked Rua with an electrical attack, making Rua scream in pain.

Rua LP: 2500→700

Rua could hear the officers laughing at his expense. There was not a shred of remorse for their actions. They enjoyed hurting people they considered trash. He felt his right arm burn, only more intensely than in his Duel with Yukio.

"Sir, there's a reaction!" Akutsu reported to Godwin. "It's greater than it was yesterday."

Godwin look down but there was no sign of a mark on Rua. "I can feel it's power from here, but why won't the mark appear on the boy?" Godwin then felt a strong beat in his heart. He then reached for his chest. "This feeling…regret…shame…but why towards him?"

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Spirit Contamination! I can only activate this card during the Main Phase 2 on a turn in which one monster on my field was destroyed. I can select one Magic or Trap card my opponent controls and destroy it. I destroy your set card!" Frank destroyed Rua's final set card.

"During the End Phase, Id the Supreme Devil is revived and all other monsters on my field are destroyed." Frank brought back his own monster while destroying the one he took from Rua. "I end my turn."

Rua LP: 700, Hand: 2
Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 0

The scene changed and the officers were now gone and now both Rua and Frank were around a pillar that was supporting the city on top.

"Oh, Rua's field is empty and Frank still has all of his Life Points! This may as well be Rua's last turn; will he be able to do a reversal?" MC commentated.

"Rua…" Ruka saw her brother in bad shape.

Frank smiled at the sight of Rua beaten before his eyes widened. "What?" Rua grunted as he pushed himself back up on his feet. "How are you still standing? I should've broken your spirit with these memories."

"Ow." Rua winced as he popped his arm back into his socket. "You can't break my spirit that easily. I made a decision to become stronger to protect what matters to me. That's why I'll win this Duel." Rua gave Frank a warrior's glare that made him flinch.

Rua LP: 700, Hand: 2
Frank LP: 4000, Hand: 0

"My turn! Draw!" Rua drew his card. "This is how I'll get stronger! From my hand, I activate the Ritual Magic: Synchro Advent!" Rua played a Ritual Magic and a white altar appeared in the middle of the arena.

"What?! A Ritual Magic?!" Frank gasped.

"Oh! Rua is using the legendary Ritual Summon to turn the tides of this Duel!" MC announced with excitement.

"Hardly anyone uses Ritual anymore." Jack noted.

"Yes. A forgotten summon but not lost." Godwin said.

"Synchro Advent has an effect that allows me to use Synchro Monsters in my Extra Deck as material if I have no monsters on my field! From my Extra Deck, I use Power Tool Dragon as the release!" Power Tool appeared on the altar and glowed forming 7 blue flames that started dancing around in the air.

"Envoy of love and justice offers up his entire existence to surpass his limits and protect the world! Ritual Summon!" The seven blue flames joined together and created a pillar of blue light. "Rise! Power Tool Eclipse Dragon (ATK: 2300, LV: 7)!" Appearing was Power Tool but instead of his usual yellow and silver armor, his armor was now blue and black and his shovel claw and screwdriver were replaced with a drill and suction machine.

"A Ritual Monster…but even you defeat Id, I will only take 100 points of damage and Id can be revived at the End Phase!" Frank pointed out.

"I activate the Equip Magic: Break Draw!" Rua played the last card in his hand. "At this moment, Power Tool Eclipse Dragon's effect activates! When it has an Equip Card equipped to it, I can select one monster on the opponent's field and turn it into an Equip Card for Power Tool!"

"What?!" Frank exclaimed.

"Eclipse Suction!" Power Tool aimed its suction at Id and sucked the monster within. "Power Tool Eclipse then gains that monster's Attack Points!"

Power Tool Eclipse Dragon (ATK: 2300→4500)

"4500 Attack Points?!" Frank panicked.

"Battle! Power Tool Eclipse Dragon! Direct Attack! Crafty Drill!" Power Tool Eclipse Dragon powered up his drill and charged towards Frank and struck him hard, sending him flying.

Frank LP: 4000→0

Winner: Rua

"What a comeback!" MC yelled into his microphone and the audience cheered loudly. "The winner of the first round of the Fortune Cup is the Dark Horse, Rua!"

Rua took a deep breath. "Man, that Duel was intense. But those memories…especially that last one." Rua felt that pillar was familiar.

Fortune Cup – Waiting Room

"Rua! Are you okay?" Ruka asked as she hugged her brother.

"I'm okay now." Rua said. "But that Duel was so hard and it's just the first round. There're really strong Duelists here. Ruka, don't let your guard down."

"You did well, Rua." Yusei praised.

"Yusei…" Rua sheepishly rubbed his finger under his nose.

"Now, let's move on to these next matches!" MC announced.

Ruka vs Bomber

"Giant Bomber Air Raid! Direct Attack!" Bomber ordered his large machine monster to attack Ruka and she screamed.

Ruka LP: 800→0

Winner: Bomber

"Poor Ruka." Rua didn't like that his sister lost. "But it's probably for the best. She never wanted to be in the tournament anyway."

Bomber was approached by Yeager. "Are you sure that girl was a Signer?" Bomber questioned.

"We have reasons to believe so. But there's still a way to verify if she is one." Yeager said.

Aki vs Jill deLauncebeaux

"Black Rose Flare!" Aki ordered Black Rose Dragon to defeat Jill.

Jill LP: 1350→0

Winner: Aki Izayoi

"Damn witch!"

"Get her out of here!"

"She's a monster!"

The audience was scared as Aki used her Psychic power to brutally defeat Jill. Rua held his arm as he saw Aki Duel. "She called Yusei's mark wretched. Does she have one too?"

Yusei vs Mukuro Enjo

"Nitro Warrior, attack Junk Synchro! Dynamite Knuckle!" Nitro Warrior destroyed Junk Synchro and Mukuro Enjo was forced to stop.

Enjo LP: 1100→0
Winner: Yusei Fudo

Enjo wasn't a participant in the Fortune Cup but they had allowed him to take the place of Yusei's original opponent to see if his mark would appear, which didn't.

"I knew Yusei would win. There's no doubt about that." Rua smiled.

Memorial Circuit Stands

With the last Duel of the First Round out of the way, Rua, Ruka and Yusei joined back up with Himuro, Yanagi and Teppei in the stands. "Everybody listen! This concludes the heated first day of the tournament! We had some intensive Duels but now we are going into the Quarterfinals. Here are the matchups." MC announced and screens showed the opponents. "And on that note, today's excitement is left to be continued until further Dueling tomorrow! Good bye."

"Judging from today's performance, you should be okay in your Duel, Yusei." Himuro looked at Yusei's opponent. It was a foreign girl that looked to be only a middle school student.

"I think the Black Rose and Bomber are also gonna have easy wins in their Duels as well." Teppei looked at the screen. "No offense, Ruka."

"None taken. Bomber was strong, I never had a chance against him." Ruka said.

"Looks like you'll be having another tough Duel, Rua." Yanagi told Rua. "Your opponent swarmed the field with so many Special Summons it looked like he was Dueling by himself."

"Yeah, he had complete control over that Duel." Rua remembered looking at the highlights of his opponent's Duel.

"Still, it's weird." Himuro said.

"What do you mean?" Yusei asked.

"Almost every contestant has a Duel history that makes them known very well in the city. But your opponent and Rua's have no history at all. It's like they just randomly appeared out of nowhere." Himuro said. "With their skill, you'd think they would be known by the world by now."

"That is weird." Rua looked at his opponent. "Who are you? Yaiba Todo."
