Outside the Fireside HQ, agents O and C silently watch the children descending through the trapdoor, both birds still didn't believe that Perry was right, but without time to think, they beat their metallic wings towards the Flynn-Fletcher house to report the good news.
Meanwhile, back at the residence, the rest of the team was preparing the helicopter.
''Let's go!'' Motivated the platypus as he helped agents Pi and Go to pull the automatic water cannon to the helicopter, and already inside, agent Pinkie was waiting for them to attach the weapon to the helicopter.
''Great... just tighten the screws'' Perry said, handing the key to Pinkie while looking at Heinz sleeping in the pilot's seat, the result of the sedative dart fired by the platypus as soon as they arrived at the residence.
''Agent P!'' Said the birds, flapping their wings, flying in a circle in the yard before choosing a landing spot.
''Agents O and C, how was the reconnaissance?'' Perry asked, seeing both of them land in the helicopter, attracting the attention of the agents present in the backyard.
''Good news… you were right, our special group is really on the way to the tower'' She said, to the surprise of everyone who was still in doubt as to whether that team would be crazy enough for that.
''Great... but even with that courage, they won't make it without air or ground support, Agent D, how's the aid package going?'' Perry asked, emphasizing that time was passing.
''It's ready… I hope you know how to use it'' Said Agent Larry, the dog, closing the huge box, while Agent M, the monkey, dragged huge black boxes into the helicopter.
''Leave it to them... even a baby would know how to use this equipment'' Pinkie said, knowing that for them who have already built roller coasters and submarines for fun... it would be child's play to use these weapons.
''Agent R, what is the condition of the armored vehicles?'' Perry asked, via the communicator.
''They are being loaded… it will still take some time, so you can go ahead, let's enter the city from the north side, close to Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc''
''Understood… as long as you're there'' Perry said, imagining that with flexible coordination, everything would go as planned.
''We will be… but we need agents Go and Pi down here'' Said agent R, the raccoon, making both agents return to the bunker.
''Good luck guys... see you soon'' Said Agent Noah, the goat, before closing the large metal door covered in grass, which formed the Flynn-Fletcher family's backyard.
''We're going ahead, to monitor them, just follow our beacon… don't worry we'll keep it in the shadows'' Agent C, the chicken, said, with both taking off to locate Phineas' team.
''Perry, Cadance being with Vanessa didn't affect you?''
''I can ask the same about Isabella, Agent Pinkie… the truth is that they are safe for now, if they don't try anything stupid''
''But we're talking about Teenagers and Children, Agent Perry''
''That's why we need to be there quickly… It's our job''
''Well... helicopter is ready and armed... just missing our pilot'' Said Agent M, the monkey, putting the last gallon of water in the helicopter and letting Agent Pinkie equip the water cannon.
''Understood...'' Perry said, approaching Heinz and injecting the tranquilizer antidote into his neck, making him wake up in a short time.
''What… where am I? A platypus?'' Heinz asked, looking at the animal next to him while massaging its head. Even though he could speak, Perry didn't say anything, just put on his hat.
''Perry, the platypus!'' Asked the scientist with his classic phrase.
''You only fell asleep when we arrived, Heinz... now let's fly'' said Perry, putting the dart pistol in his holster, hoping he would buy this one... which obviously didn't happen, Heinz could be an idiot but not to that extent.
''For your information... it's rude to sedate people, Perry the platypus'' Said Heinz, starting to turn on the helicopter and take out his headphones.
''Don't care, Didn't ask... just keep the helicopter low and steady'' Perry said, throwing the headphones to Pinkie, no longer patient with Doofenshmirtz's ''Lessons''... as if he had any morals for such words.
''Agent Pinkie… attach the payload'' He ordered his friend, as he heard the helicopter's rotor starts, signaling for Agent M to also put on his headphones.
The Chihuahua agreed as she put on her headphones, landing on the black box, watching the aerial vehicle take off but remain at a low altitude, enough for her to grab the hook and attach it to the tethers that held the large box.
''Okay… it's docked, Perry '' Pinkie said over the communicator, after making sure everything was secure, she began to climb the hook back to the helicopter.
''Understood...'' Perry said, getting up from the passenger seat to help Agent Pinkie get to the Helicopter cabin, who then went to a seat where Agent M was already secured by the belts.
''Heinz can pull'' Platypus ordered as soon as he saw that his colleagues were safe, quickly returning to the co-pilot's seat.
''Going up...'' Said Doofenshmirtz, starting to move the flight control, lifting the box, making the entire vehicle shake.
''Be careful, go slow!'' Perry said, seeing the Helicopter moving from one side to the other.
''Calm down… that weight doesn't help'' Protested the scientist, hating that people gave their opinion on the way he drove or the way he acted… just because they thought it was ''questionable''.
''Okay… it looks like we're stable, where are we going ?'' Heinz asked, gaining altitude and moving the stick forward.
''To the city center'' Perry said, looking at the computer where it showed the location of agents O and C's trackers, and enlarging the image, being able to see that they were not very far from the battle.
Moving the scene to the city, in the D.E.I building, in a random apartment, Candace and Vanessa were each lying on a sofa, trying to rest and reflect on a new plan of action, despite being ''safe'' but surrounded by pharmaceutical zombies.
''Cadance… we need a new plan'' Vanessa said in a bored voice, as she looked at the ceiling.
''What's the difference... they're going to catch us anyway... just like our friends'' Said the Middle Flynn, no longer enthusiastic enough to even get up.
''They will have been caught in vain if we don't do anything… Dad said that the key to stopping the zombies is water and that we can protect ourselves using rubber'' Vanessa said, sitting on the sofa, massaging her forehead.
''Vanessa... it's not that I dont want to, but there's still a legion of zombies out there and it's just the two of us'' Said Cadance, not believing that just two survivors could make a difference... even with such advantages.
''Maybe we can attract them with sound...'' She thought, looking at the zombies through the window.
''Yeah… in every movie I've ever seen, zombies were always attracted to noises, we still have our phones, don't we ?'' Candace asked, taking out her pink phone.
''Yes, we do... and maybe this whole building... if we can attract them to the lower floors, thus creating a safe zone for us and those who are left'' Vanessa replied, knowing many of the people who lived here, she wanted to know too if they were ok.
''And how are we going to stop them?''
''All the furniture we can find…''
''Anyway, it's an advance… but how are we going to achieve it ?'' Cadance asked, still imagining how they would attract the infected without getting caught in the process.
''Good question... if it weren't for the power outage, I could go to the control room and attract them via microphone, we could also try the fire alarms but they activate throughout the building... it wouldn't do any good''
"What about the reception phone number ?" Candace asked.
"It might work…" Vanessa said, dialing the reception number on her phone, but none of the infected people nearby moved.
"The sound must be very low to attract them, we need something that can move and attract them…"
"A toy… maybe a drone!" Candace said, wondering if they could find one, it would give them a good advantage.
"Good idea, if we can attach the phone, we can use it as a decoy for those infected" Vanessa said, getting up and searching the rooms for anything that made noise, conveniently, in the children's room there was a small helicopter.
''Good news, Candace'' Vanessa said, placing the toy on the coffee table, checking where the on and off switch was.
''Excellent… what's the situation ?'' She asked, taking the controller.
''It looks like it still has a battery... try it'' Said Vanessa, with Candace making the toy take off, surprisingly Flynn knew how to maneuver the vehicle... skillfully.
''You seem to have a knack for this...''
''Yeah… I've used all kinds of methods to catch my brothers in the act, including drones'' Candace said with a laugh as she placed the toy helicopter on the table, thinking that sometimes that obsession could have taken her too far.
''Okay… what songs do you have?''
''Boy bands, relaxing music…''
"And there's this one too…" She said, wanting to play the only Rock song she had in order to impress Vanessa, but accidentally putting on the Ducky momo theme song.
''S-Sorry… that wasn't the one!'' She said, desperately trying to change the song but being stopped by Vanessa.
''Wait… put it on repeat'' She said, taking the tape.
''Serious ? but it's so shameful'' Cadance asked, wondering why she wanted the theme song of the children's favorite duckling to be the decoy for the infected.
''It's a bit, but there are a lot of children in this building... if they are well or if their parents are, they will recognize this song'' Vanessa said, knowing that there wasn't a soul alive who hadn't heard that catchy song.
''Okay...'' Cadance said, handing the cell phone to Vanessa who tied it to the helicopter with tape.
''Everything seems ok, when I open the door, slowly drive the helicopter over so I can turn on the music…''
''Understood...'' Said Candace, taking the control and making the vehicle take off, going to the door that Vanessa opened just a little, activating the music and closing the door before the zombies saw her.
With Candace's favorite duckling theme song echoing through the hallways, the pharmaceutical zombies began to follow her, trying to catch the helicopter but it was too loud.
''It seems to be working...''
''Yes… try to attract a larger group so we can go out'' Vanessa said, taking an alarm from the kitchen and the full water spray bottle, as well as some glasses.
''Understood...'' Said Candace, maneuvering the helicopter As the small helicopter attracted groups after groups of infected, Candace and Vanessa found a small safe space outside the apartment, just enough for them to get out.
"Let's go…" Vanessa said, wielding the water sprayer, walking slowly to check the other corridor, apparently no infected people in sight.
"We're safe… for now"
''That's great... but we still have to get the gang away from here'' Cadance said, starting to walk next to Vanessa, who had the alarm clocks in hand in case they needed to escape.
As the infected followed the toy helicopter, the gang became a herd, descending the stairs that led to the next floor and from floor to floor, the infected followed the small flying decoy, consequently followed by the teenagers.
Vanessa occasionally checked the apartments in the hope that there were still some families that might have escaped the infected, feeling happy that there were already some curious eyes that were watching what was going on outside.
With a few hand signals, she asked them to quietly follow the safe path made by her and Candace, and soon the doors opened, leaving some families or couples and even children with their older brothers or younger sisters.
''I think this is enough, Candace...'' Vanessa whispered, already tired, and not even knowing which floor they were on, but knowing that some people were already safe, and perhaps it wouldn't be wise to abuse the little luck they had left.
''But you can go mor-'' Candace argued, but the small helicopter shutting down and falling to the ground made her rethink.
''Ah, shit'' She thought, walking away with Vanessa, watching the infected trampling on the toy, consequently breaking her phone.
''Quickly, we have to go!" Vanessa said, linking her hand to Candace's, and both started to run.
"Here, play this'' She said, handing him a kitchen alarm clock. Both set the clock to one second and threw it around the corner of one of the corridors, then up the stairs, and as expected, the infected were distracted by the noise, giving it some time.
''What's going on?'' One of the residents asked, hugging his youngest son, with the oldest beside him.
''We'll explain later... we need furniture... and also get some fire extinguishers, we have to delay them, keeping them on the lower floors'' Vanessa said with an extinguisher in hand.
''Understood...'' Other residents said, grabbing some fire extinguishers, not knowing exactly what was going on, but trusting them now was the best option.
Soon, Candace and Vanessa with the help of the residents began to set up barricades with small furniture, but the zombies were advancing.
''Don't stop... we need more things'' Said one of the residents, using the fire extinguisher to stop the enemy's advance.
Children and adults pulled large sofas, tables and everything that was heavy enough to stop them, but they always managed to get through... Vanessa, who also tried to stop them with the fire extinguisher, remembered the advantage that her Father had told her about.
''Candace we need the fire hose!'' She said, to Flynn who was dragging a sofa next to another man.
''Can you leave it, help me?'' Said Candace, calling the residents to her side and going to the nearest fire hose, the others focused on stopping the advance, but the fire extinguisher charge was already running out.
''Quickly Candace!'' Vanessa said, moving away from the infected at a slow pace like the others.
''Almost there!'' She said, unwinding the hose, along with the survivors next to her who began to mobilize it, and together they held the hose.
''Get out of the way!'' They said together and the water pressure was more than enough to throw the infected away. ''That's enough!'' The residents said, passing the fire extinguishers through the water hose and the rest of the survivors, who had created a safe area up to the furniture barrier, it was little, but the best defense between them and the infected.
''Quickly we need to close this barrier!'' They shouted, bringing the rest of the furniture to create a more robust partition.
''Okay, seems safe...'' Vanessa said, wiping the sweat from her forehead, kicking the barrier to make sure it was good, but receiving another push around it.
''Okay guys... here's the thing, these guys multiply if they touch you, we need water to contain them, and anything rubber... it blocks electricity'' Candace said the advantages she knew, looking at everyone who stated, starting to walk to the next floors.
''Where did they come from, Jack ?'' Asked the Blond woman while look at her husband.
''Still asking, Marry? It's clear that it was the weirdo on the top floor'' Said him, with his hand linked to hers.
''Your father, Vanessa ?''
''Unfortunately…'' Said Vanessa, feeling guilty for not having stopped him, yet she never thought he would one day succeed... maybe not kicking him out when he tried to get along with her.
''And where is he ? Only those who created it to put an end''
''I don't know... the last time he spoke to me was a while ago''
''Guys... he will come back to find his loved daugther, the important thing at the moment... is to protect ourselves and prevent more people from being caught'' Said Larry, another resident with his arms crossed, and his son beside him.
''He's right... Not just the barrier, but we need traps'' Said Jack, going to the warehouse and getting some ropes.
''True...'' Cadance said, taking the rope to make alarms with cans, just as other residents that used bear traps for hunt the zombies.
Searching the apartments, the survivors equipped themselves with light cold clothing, making improvised knee and elbow pads with insulating tape, protecting other parts with torn garbage bags, and finally their hands were protected with rubber gloves.
''Okay, how's everyone ?'' Vanessa asked, looking at them, who had brooms, plungers or chains in their hands.
''It seems so...'' Candace said, with a small plunger in hand, observing all the structured defenses, knowing that the night would begin now.
