Summary: Sora was unconscious. Riku was desperate. Their hearts were falling apart even if they were together. Their combined keyblades, The Nightmare's End and Mirage Split Keyblade, were consumed by the darkness of their heart. Will they find a way to reunite once again?

Author's Note: Hi, everyone! I finally jumped in this fandom and I have to say its quiet enjoyable to write for both of them. I hope you enjoy my fanfiction. Chapter 1: The Darkness

Sora panted while running as fast as he could. The darkness engulfed him more and more. He didn't know where he should be running to. He looked around but all his eyes see were only darkness. It was suffocating. Sora gasped, stopped running for a few moments to catch his breath. He stepped back a few times before his feet stumbled and fell backwards, plunged into an endless darkness. Sora opened his mouth to scream, but no voice came out. He reached around to grab on something and found no things to hold on to. He felt he was starting to lost consciousness. In his mind, he kept on calling his lover's name.

"Riku… Riku…" Like a never ending echoes.

Riku stared at his unconscious lover. His hands were firmly holding Sora's lifeless left hand. He looks like he's falling in a deep slumber. He pressed his forehead against the back of Sora's hand. Riku closed his eyes, his mind muddling over the previous scene that just happened a few hours ago. He was so close of losing him completely if he hadn't catch Sora in his arms.

Someone's knocked on the door made Riku jolted. He opened his eyes and looked behind him to see Kairi entered the room with a sour expression.

"He's still unconscious?" Kairi stood before the bed, staring at her childhood friend sadly.

Riku shook his head. "... Yes." His eyes clouded with sorrow when staring back at Sora.

"You have to eat something, Riku. You haven't eat anything ever since you two came back." Kairi offered.

"I'm not hungry." Riku mumbled.

Kairi sighed and shrugged at him. "Thought you might say that; I've told the others to prepare some meal. You have to eat." Kairi waved her hand in the air, staring at the man annoyed.

Right after Kairi finished her words, the door suddenly banged opened by the twin. Riku jumped in surprised at the sudden intrusion. He gasped when he saw Roxas and Ventus practically acting like a damn mobster.

"WAKE UP, SORA. ITS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD!" Roxas almost hit Riku's head with the food tray ― on purpose ― before smirking at the silver haired man.

Riku glared at him in full of annoyance. "Like he'd wake up. You two are so noisy." Riku clicked his tongue.

Roxas put the tray of food on the nightstand. His blue eyes stared at Sora before he notice something. He went over to Riku and slapped his hand that was holding Sora's hand. Riku flinched, he retracted his hands away.

"What the hell, Roxas?!" Riku ignored Kairi's giggle.

"Stop touching him, it feels like you're touching me and it gave me a shiver."

Riku's eye twitched. He gritted his teeth, trying to keep calm. The vein popped on his head, but he let Roxas touch Sora's hand anyway.

"So, are you two coming here just to deliver food and make ruckus?" Riku crossed his hands in front of his chest.

Ventus sat on the bed beside Sora's leg and patted Sora gently. "We're here to check on him, of course." Ventus chuckled. He stared the Riku's face, searching for any explanation.

"Riku…" The small whispered made their attention immediately alerted on the unconscious brunette.

"Sora!" Riku pulled Sora's hand away from Roxas's clutch, not caring the protest sound coming from the blonde.

Kairi stepped closer, watching Sora's face closely.

Silence engulfed them, for a moment nothing happened. Sora isn't waking up. Riku's sighed exasperatedly.

"Tell me what exactly happened." Kairi demanded Riku.

"I… I don't know. To be exact, I don't know what happened." Riku started, looking sadly to his beloved lover.

"Did he got attacked?" Roxas looked down to have a closer look on Sora.

Riku pressed his palm on Roxas's face, pushing him away. "Too close, idiot."

Roxas's cursed at him before Ventus pulled him away to his side. Ventus circled his arms around Roxa's stomach, shielding him, preventing anymore ruckus. Roxas pouted, but leaning back to Ventus anyway.

"We finished the tasks like usual. I was getting out of the Door of Heart from the Sky Tower when suddenly Sora slipped on his foot and fall off."

Kairi flinched, eyes widening. Riku continued.

"He was slipping into unconsciousness and I have to jump to catch him before he hit the ground."

"Where is this Sky Tower?" Roxas put his forefinger on his chin.

"I think I've heard of it. Isn't it near the place where your keyblade fused with Sora's? The Dark Margin in the Realm of Darkness? Maybe Aqua will know something about this?" Ventus offered.

Riku nodded. "I think it isn't that far from there. Master told us to go there to check on something unusual. We checked, but all we see is only a bunch of heartless inside the tower. As far as we know, we've beat all the Heartless' before getting outside the tower. What we still didn't know is purpose of this tower. It suddenly appear out of nowhere and we have no clue why." The silver haired man frowned, running his palm across his face.

"Door of Hearts… Sky Tower… Nightmare's End and Mirage Split Keyblades." Roxas ruffled his hair. "Damn, these make my head hurts!"

"It's no use thinking about it, we need to gather some information." Kairi said and standing up straight.

"Usually Sora is the one marching forward without thinking." Ventus chuckled.

"Well, he's the one who need help now. Come on, let's inform this to Master Yen Sid and the King. I've called Donald and Goofy to stay beside Sora. Riku you have to eat." Kairi patted Riku's shoulder, her thumb pointing to the door. From the look on her face, Riku knew she won't take 'no' for an answer.

The silver haired man sighed, gently putting Sora's hand on top of his stomach. He stood up and leaned down to land a kiss on Sora's forehead. "I'll be back, Sora." Some kind of longing feeling pulling him like a magnet, Riku gasped when he felt some surge of power trying to suck him in. He retracted his face away. A flash of image went into his mind, Sora's eyes closed as if he was sleeping, but he could hear his voice calling out his name. Riku winced, he pressed his palm on his face, lost his footing and crashed on top of Sora's body.

Kairi's eyes widened. "RIKU!" Her shout brought Roxas's and Ventus's attention.

Both of them ran back to their friends, helping Riku back to his feet.

"What happened?!" Roxas asked worriedly.

"I can hear him…" Riku's eyes widened.

"What?" Roxas looked at Riku and back to Sora, bewildered.

"I think his heart… is calling me." Riku said and quickly pressed his forehead against Sora's. He didn't feel anything anymore. Some kind of an abrupt image flashing on his mind and immediately vanished.

"It was like as if he's trying to pull me in."

"Let's talk to Master about this, we need to hurry!" Kairi said and quickly ran outside the room. Riku, Roxas, and Ventus followed behind her closely. Kairi almost crashed on Donald on her way outside. Donald shouted and stomped his feet angrily.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" Donald stomped his foot angrily at Kairi, glaring madly.

"What's wrong?" Goofy asked calmly, cutting Donald's angry retort.

"We need to report something to the King and Master! Can you two take care of Sora while we're away?"

"Sure, go ahead. I think the King is with the Queen right now at the garden." Goofy let her knew about his whereabouts.

"Thank you for the info, Goofy. Me and Kairi will go to the King, you two go the Master Yen Sid." Riku commanded.

"Alright! Come on, hurry!" Roxas said and the four quickly ran heading towards their appointed direction.

Everything seems so quiet. Master Yen Sid studied the book he had been checking for some time. He curled his long white beard, sometimes nodding to himself when he finally got some new understanding. A sound of rowdy footsteps getting closer, breaking his train of thoughts. He raised his face in wonder when the door being knocked rather harshly.

"Come in." As soon as he finished his sentence, the door swung opened. Seeing the look on their face made Master Yen Sid knew there was something urgent to discuss. He left his book opened and stood up straight, eyeing Roxas and Ventus seriously.

"Something must be up."

"Yes!" Ventus and Roxas replied almost at the same time.

"Calm down, boys. We need to think with a cool head." Master Yen Sid said and spread his hands in the air, offering both boys to get inside and closed the door.

Roxas walked inside and Ventus closed the door behind him.

"Master, it's about Sora! He's unconscious!" Roxas talked in a hurry that he could bit his tongue in the process.

"Where's Riku?" Master Yen Sid asked, alerted.

"Riku is searching for the King." Ventus said while he patted Roxas's back to calm down.

"So, something must be wrong with the tower they're in previously. I know there must be something within that tower."

"Which tower is it, Master?" Ventus asked in wonder.

"The tower suddenly appeared out of nowhere, not to mention its floating above the sky. Some reports the Heartless had been there and some had attacked people. I told Sora and Riku to go there to check on it."

Roxas and Ventus looked at each other.

The door swung opened and a voice interrupted them. "I'll go there with Riku." A familiar voice behind them made them look at the entrance of the office. The King nicely offered his smile and walked inside with a keyblade in his hand.

"Alright, Your Majesty." Master Yen Sid nodded, allowing them to have another mission without Sora.

"Please take care of Sora for me." Riku eyed Roxas, trusting him.

"You have my words." Roxas pointed his thumb to himself proudly. "He's a part of me after all." Roxas smiled, eyeing Riku with full of reassurance.

Goofy smiled while watching Sora, take a seat beside the bed and patted Sora's arm.

"We rarely see him like this." Donald said while pouring himself a glass of water.

"But Riku will save him in no time." Goofy nodded and laughed.

"That's right. You better be grateful, Sora." Donald smiled as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.
