VI: Race to the Throne

The smoke from the explosion had cleared. Several members of Balam's servicemen were inspecting the wreckage for anything salvagable.

Marine ran over to the magpie with her report. "No sign of any surviving material."

Balam nods as she turns to the raccoon. "Any trace of Rancor?"

"All that was found was this." Marine held up two medallions, both in the shape of a flame.

"Blaze,…these are your sigil."

Blaze makes her way to them observing the sigil. "These were in the wreckage?"

"They're defectors. Why would they keep the sigil?"

The feline then came to a realization. "Their ally is a former Sol Empire civilian." She would then make her way to the Ocean Tornado.

Marine follows her. "Where do we go from here?"

"Home. They created a chemical weapon to use on my kingdom." She leaps onto the vessel. "Full speed ahead."

Balam climbs onboard. "I'm coming with you."

"Balam? What about your kingdom?"

The magpie placed her wings on her friend's shoulders. "Your kingdom is just as important as mine."

Blaze was stunned hearing her speak her own language. "Very well. You can come along."

Marine then launched the vessel in the direction of the Sol Empire.

Meanwhile, Jilt had arrived along with Marshall and their ally. "So vacant for a palace."

Marshall looked around the palace before turning to Jilt. "What do we do without Rancor?"

"We have his weapon." She holds up the vial. "All we do is unleash it across the kingdoms to wipe out all inhabitant.

The mystery feline began to ascend the stairs of the palace as if in search of something.

"Hey! Where are you going? The roof isn't that way."

He would hold up the vials he had. "I have unfinished business." He continues up the stairs.

Marshall then sees a roof hatch. "We can get to the roof through there."

Jilt pats his head. "Good boy."

"Do not call me that."

The stranger would enter a room at the top of the stairs seeing someone in bed. "It's been 10 years." He walks up to the woman as it was Queen Dawn, the currently ruler of the Sol Empire rendered comatose. "Your suffering ends now." He takes one of his vials and attempts to insert it into the queen's IV drop.

"I knew you'd be back."

The man turned to see Blaze as he sets down the vial. "This is for her own good."

Blaze reached for a sword mounted above the door frame. "You can't hide from me anymore,…brother."

Having been revealed, he removed his coverages revealing his true identity as the exiled prince of the Sol Empire, Cinder. "You can't stop me from this, sister."

"I won't let you hurt my mother the way your father did before." She holds her sword out to him.

Cinder would then unsheathe his own blade holding it out to her touching their weapons together. "We decide with a fair match. No allies. No powers. Just you…and me."

Blaze narrows her eyes as she prepared herself for their long awaited confrontation. "Bring it on."
