Chapter 47 : Haunting revenge
The next scene shows a zoom in on the auditorium as the sunrise spectacular was about to start as Ernesto's face was shown with that big charming smile on the poster; and then zoomed into thousands of skeletons clapping ready and waiting for the show to start, The orchestra was playing the original tune for the show as the musicians played and then the music stopped to showcase Frida's start of the show.
As the musicians played Miguel's original tune that he suggested to Frida and the screen shows Frida's monkey and then shifting down to the dancers where they crawled up a giant papaya on fire. Clearly taking her own ideas to the next level as the audience was distracted with the dancers the other group of dancers the Rivera family disguised as Frida's slowly jumped out from the papaya and sneaked off to the side of the stage.
"That's how you got into my show you sneaky little-" Ernesto gritted his teeth
"See I may look like a musician but I think like a shoemaker, you undermined me". He tapped his head with his finger
"That's actually very smart ". Isabela smiled
"Thanks Isa ". Miguel breathed
"I still can't believe she took your suggestions ". Abel gasped
"Wait How did you-" Socorro stopped
"How did I What Chiquita?" Miguel coaxed
"How did you convince Frida?" Manny asked
" Didn't need to really once she heard what has really happened she was mad very mad and she was more than happy to be on our side and more than happy to help us". Miguel smiled
"That was quick". Camilo said
"I'll say ". Benny replies
Coco smiled and chuckled.
"What?" He said
"Mijo you are just like me". She sighed
"And proud of it". Miguel stated
Miguel and the rest of the family sneaks off underneath the stage and takes the stairs all running quick to get the plan in motion Frida standing to the side as the family escaped.
Frida : "Good luck muchacho". She whispered
Miguel smiled.
Miguel : "Gracias Frida ".
He runs down the stairs and joins his family in taking off the costumes. Most of them just rip of the costume taking off the wigs as well, meanwhile Héctor shivers as Dante hid in His skirt and has now come out. Meanwhile poor Miguel ripping off the fake uni brow and screaming in pain at how it hurt; Imelda was having trouble getting her skirt off and Héctor tried to help but Imelda was not wanting to be touched.
Héctor: "Here let me help you". He put his hands out to help
Mamá Imelda: "DON'T TOUCH ME!" She yelled
She then ripped off the skirt and threw it on the ground.
Coco sighed disappointed but she understood where this was coming from, meanwhile Imelda looked apologetically at Héctor he only smiled.
"You really don't want to touched do you". Felix winced
Imelda nodded.
Rosa winced at the yelling on screen as did Abel and Miguel.
"Even in death you still scare me". Julio said
Imelda chuckled and smiled.
"That's my job". Imelda sighed
Héctor winced at that and backed off.
Then the Rivera's all huddled around and discussed the said plan.
Miguel : "Everyone clear on the plan?"
Victoria : "Find Héctor's photo".
Papá Julio: "Give it to Miguel"
Mamá Imelda:"Send Miguel home".
Héctor: "Everyone got your petals".
Dante the barked a low bark of confirmation and then they split up Imelda leading the family on a mission to find De La Cruz.
Mamá Imelda: "Now we just have to find De La Cruz". She quickly looked back at the family and the turned back.
Ernesto: "Yes?"
"That was fast". Rosa said
"Just wait it's not over yet Mija ". Imelda smirked
Imelda then jumped and screamed in surprise at the sight of Ernesto and the turned red with anger as the rest of the family from behind the wall screech to a stop Héctor keeping a hand on Miguel protectively.
Ernesto the pointed to Imelda very confused like he knew her somehow.
Ernesto : "Do I… know you?"
Then without a second thought she took off her boot and slapped him hard in the chiseled jaw in burning anger and rage his skull spinning as he tried to readjust it meanwhile Imelda burning with rage and anger at him.
Both families smiled and yelled in success in hitting him meanwhile Ernesto just gritted his teeth and scowled.
"Hit him again! "Elena yelled
Layla smiled and laughed but was happy at what was on screen. Imelda blushed at what was shown on screen and sighed and Héctor chuckled.
" You deserve all that is coming to you". Franco looked at Ernesto
"That was amazing ". Rosa smiled
"Si, nice aim Mamá Imelda ". Abel compliments
Thank you Mijo ". Imelda smiled
Mamá Imelda : "That's for murdering the love of my life!!" She shouted aiming the boot at him once more
Ernesto: "Who the…" Ernesto was very confused and shocked
Héctor blushed a little at what his wife said on screen and Imelda did too knowing they wouldn't be apart any longer.
Coco smiled at her parents happy they rebuilt their relationship.
"I wouldn't take it back". Imelda whispered as she nuzzled into her husband's shoulder
"I know I love you so much ". Héctor smiled
The adults looked happy for the two, the little ones looked way as they didn't want to watch their grandparents kiss. The older ones looked happy for the two of them and smiled.
"Looks they need each other". Layla sighed
" I know look at them". Casita joined
Héctor then raced out and pointed to himself.
Héctor : " She's talking about me I'm the love of your life?" He declared and then questioned as he turned to Imelda with a sparkle in his eyes.
Ernesto: " Héctor How did you-" He was stopped Imelda hit him again with the boot as his skull nearly spun off his neck.
Héctor winced as he watched his wife.
The families cheered in celebration, meanwhile Ernesto not liking this at all. Imelda faceplammed herself at what was happening on screen.
"Ay". She sighed
"Estas bien Mamá he got what was coming to him ". Coco reassures
"It's not that Mija ". Imelda smirked
"What is it then?" She asked
"It's your father questioning whether I love him or not". Imelda chuckled
Coco laughed and chuckled smiling.
"What I Still needed to know I don't do well with signals you know this". Héctor smiled
"That much is true Abuelo ". Victoria laughed
Imelda smirked and laughed.
Then Imelda hit him again hard with the boot for the second time for murdering Miguel as his skull nearly spun off his neck.
Mamá Imelda: "And That's for trying to murder my grandson!!"
Ernesto: "Grandson?" Ernesto by now was very confused
Then Miguel came out looking all proud as could be with a smile on his face and chest puffed out.
Miguel : "She's talking about me". He pointed to himself
"Ay dios Mio". Luisa sighed softly
Miguel smiled and chuckled at his on screen self, Mirabel faceplammed at the way he said it.
""What?" He coaxed
"Sometimes you're so oblivious ". Mirabel sighed
"Well thank you for that note Señorita I'll be sure to that into account." He chuckled
"Ay". She sighed
Imelda tried not to laugh but she just couldn't help but stifle a chuckle as did Coco. The rest of the families chuckled at what happened on screen.
Héctor still kept a protective eye on him just in case something happened but he also gave a proud and loving look toward Miguel.
Ernesto: "You ". He pointed
Then the musician turned confused yet again while Imelda, Héctor and Miguel still looked angry with rage.
Ernesto: "Wait You're related to Héctor?"
Miguel still kept an angry eye on him until he noticed the photo in Ernesto's front pocket and pointed to it.
Miguel: "The photo!" He pointed
"You know you didn't have to point the photo out you could have just grabbed it". Isabela pointed
"Huh That could of worked ". Héctor smiled
Miguel faceplammed himself at what he could have done instead.
"You have terrible ways of getting to the the point". Socorro chuckled
"You think?" Miguel sighed
Ernesto then looked down at his pocket and realised he wanted the photo that he had so that Héctor had so he could be remembered. Imelda and the rest of the family showed up angry and determined to get the photo.
Ernesto then quickly turned and ran knowing he was outnumbered. Imelda then lead her pack to chase after him.
Mamá Imelda: "After him!!" She declared
So with that they chased after him making great speed and Ernesto had burst though a bunch plastic skeletons heads that looked like Frida while some dancers were getting dressed and putting make up on jumping in surprise, then Ernesto quickly turned to his security were running and ask them for help meanwhile they were just eating.
Ernesto : "Security, ayúdame".
Meanwhile the Rivera's were in hot pursuit Héctor still liking what his wife had just said and looking at with love in his eyes, Meanwhile Imelda was focused on the task at hand.
Héctor: "You said love of your life?"
Mamá Imelda: " I don't know what I said".
" I think that the least of our worries at the moment Abuelo ". Elena called
"Sorry ". He shrugged
"We know you love Mamá but now is not the time". Coco sighed
Julio nodded agreeing with his wife.
"There's a time and a place". Carmen sighed
"And this is not the time nor place". Berto finished
Miguel smiled and chuckled at The antics his grandparents pulled and decided to join.
Miguel: " That's What I heard". He encouraged
Imelda gave him a stern look as they continued to run the family then made and was blocked by security guards so that Ernesto could escape.
"Miguel we don't encourage ". Franco said
"What they were blind and oblivious and if you would have seen Mamá Imelda she just likes to bury her feelings down deep". Miguel shrugged
Imelda looked at her grandson with the same look as on screen.
"What? Oh come on tell me it wasn't true". Miguel stood his ground
Imelda smiled and Héctor chuckled.
"You are stubborn ". Imelda smirked
"Why thank you Mamá Imelda I do try my best". He bowed
Rosa laughed as did Abel and Socorro at the bow and how silly he was being.
The security guards tried and block them but Julio was quick on his feet and kicked one of the security guards hard and threw hands with his shoe. Meanwhile Oscar and Felipe were scared trying to keep the security Away from them but then they had an idea keeping the security guards at bay with using their arms as nunchucks the guards were shook ; Meanwhile Imelda was trying to deal with Ernesto by wrestling him for the photo he tried to make a break for it and pushed the stage hand out the way so he could get away faster. But he pushed back and forth determined not to let Héctor be remembered and not to let her win.
Stagehand : "Places Señor You're on in 30 seconds". He checked his clipboard
Miguel and Rosita were taking down a guard when they heard Imelda scream and Rosita looked worried as she looked across the room while she had a guards skull pinned down. Miguel went to go and help Imelda so with that he tackled his body to the ground causing Imelda to escape with the photo in hand.
Imelda smiled at Miguel in thanks and he smiled back and winked.
"This is awesome ". Camilo said
Socorro and the twins nodded .
"Who knew you had a clear shot and could take down Ernesto that quick". Abel said
"Well it really helps when you've played luchador most days". Miguel answers
"I'll say ". Juileta gasped
"And using your arms as nunchucks pretty cool Tíos ". Rosa sighed
"Why thank you Sonbrina ". Felípe smiled
Coco still couldn't believe what she was watching and shook her head and sighed.
Julio winked at his wife and smiled.
"What no messes with my family least of all my wife and father in law that man has done enough damage as it is". Julio sighed
Coco smiled and gave him a light peck on the lips and he blushed.
Imelda was then knocked away from Ernesto and unknowingly onto the stage.
Imelda smiled and looked happy.
Mamá Imelda: "Ah Miguel I have it". She held up the photo
Miguel smiled but that didn't last long as she was soon chased by guards, Imelda looked very worried and unsure of what to do now Imelda was now moving up to the stage on the platform and Ernesto took the stage stairs to go after her , Meanwhile a guard had a rough hand on Miguel as Miguel tried to get out of his grip but it was impossible that was until Dante came flying right ahead and Took off his skull completely.
Miguel smiled at the dog and urged his family to hurry up so with that Héctor, Rosita Victoria and Miguel hurried up to the sage on the side while Julio Oscar and Felipe were blocking the guards so they could stay in their places threatening them if they came any closer.
Dante licked Miguel on the face happy that he was safe.
"I'm too Amigo ". Miguel smiled
"This can't get any worse". Bruno sighed
"It's about to Amigo ". Héctor replied
Héctor, Miguel Victoria and Rosita made it onto the side stage Imelda looking worried almost knocking the microphone off to the side of the stage she looked at her grandson who had an idea as the security guards were getting closer.
Miguel: "Sing, sing". He gestured with his hand to go ahead.
Imelda nodded a big ' No' But Miguel was encouraging her to do it if this was part of plan it had to work.
So reluctantly another took a deep breath held the microphone close to her and started to sing.
Imelda (singing):
" Ay de mí llorona
llorona de azul celeste".
Coco couldn't Believe what she was watching, her mother was singing after so many years and she felt like the happiest girl in the world at that very moment.
Héctor was blushing a the sound of his wife singing like she used to and Imelda smiled and put her head on her husbands shoulder.
Both families were shook except that of Miguel and Mirabel they just smiled as they watched her sing so beautifully.
"Now this was the best thing that ever happened during my adventure ". Miguel whispered gently to Mirabel
"I'd say so, Mamá Imelda has a beautiful voice ". She smiled
Elena smiled and sighed at the sight of her grandmother singing and how happy it made her. Victoria sighed and watched along with her sister, the little ones let out a gasp of happiness and excitement.
"Even after all the years you still mange to surprise me ". Héctor whispered to his wife
"Well I don't know what you'd call it but I'd call poco loco ". She snickers
Héctor smiled and chuckled lightly at the play on words.
Imelda Meanwhile looked off the side at the guards who were looking back at De La Cruz wondering if they should go after her as the shrugged but he persisted them and urge them to go forward After her silently, Meanwhile Héctor, Victoria and Rosita gasped at the side of her singing Victoria and Rosita 's jaws are dropped along with Héctor as he was caught in a daze. But then Miguel had an idea and looked at the guitar stand and shoved a guitar in his hands and put a microphone near him so he could play while his wife sung as he started playing slowly after he was caught out of his daze.
Imelda Heard the sound of a guitar and looked very confused but still kept singing the audience was clapping lightly at her beautiful singing as she continued.
Imelda (singing continued):

de azul celeste y aunque la vida me cueste llorona
No dejaré de quererte

Meanwhile she holds The microphone as she slowly travels down the stairs to with the guards who were following behind her and everyone else in the auditorium side at the woman who was singing so beautifully and sat down, Imelda Still has the photo in her hand as she lifts up part of her skirt so that she won't trip over.
As she travels down the stairs her eyes meet Héctor on the side of the stage smiling he gives her an encouraging look and nod to keep going as he plays.
"Don't start". Imelda sighed
"What we're not saying anything, Oscar?" Felipe shrugged
"Nothing what so ever". Oscar smiled
"You still have eyes for Papá Héctor and you didn't really hate him in the first place". Rosa chuckled
Imelda wouldn't admit it but she was blushing really hard that is if she were still alive her checks would be on fire.
"You two lovebirds have still got it". Oscar sighed
"That's right hermano ". Felipe finished
"Okay enough you two". Coco said
Although Coco on the inside was very happy her parents still adored each other to this day and she felt so relived.
Héctor smiled and kissed his wife on the cheek and kept a close hold on her Imelda on the hand nuzzled further in to his embrace.
She then quickly runs down the stairs as the orchestra starts ramping up the performance as she starts singing comfortably and belting it out and the audience is loving it as they clap along with her singing.
Then in Come the guards trying to block away and get the photo but Imelda easily dodges them all giving one the microphone because he's scared of the crowd and singing in front of them. Then once that is done she then goes to the other guard and presses against the sternum and the other one she slaps his hand out of the way And he pulls back.
She then spun further as they try to drop in on her but she spins out of the way so they can bump into each other and to avoid getting hit and caught.
Imelda (singing continued):

"You're fast". Bruno said
"We'll that's not usually my plan but I had to distract them somehow ". Imelda smiled
"I'll say you are dodging them like nobody's business ". Rosa gasped
"I love it, take that you stupid guards". Socorro smiled as she looked at the screen
"To be fair I think these are terrible security guards". Mirabel replies
"No one messes with the Riveras ". Manny and Benny cheered
Imelda shook her head and chuckled lightly and smiled at what was going on onscreen Héctor smiled and chuckled lightly.
"You've still got it". Héctor smiled
"Who are you and what have you done with Mamá Imelda?" Abel asked
"Ay". She sighed
A guard then tries to grab her but Missed as he flies straight to the ground, Meanwhile the audience was cheering loudly and clapping along with the song as the orchestra went wild Ernesto however was not liking the fact that she wasn't caught and he thought he had to do everything himself to get what he wanted growling in anger.
Meanwhile Miguel was ushering her from the sidelines to keep going until she reached him with the photo.
Imelda (singing continued):
"Ay de mí llorona llorona de azul celeste".
She then ran to Héctor and Miguel to give the photo to him but suddenly hand caught her wrist and looked back and saw Ernesto and the spotlight shifted to Ernesto and the audience went wild.
Ernesto & Imelda (singing):
" Ay de mí llorona llorona de azul celeste
Y aunque la vida me cueste llorona no dejaré de quererte".
"Get your hands off of Mamá !!" Coco yelled at the screen
Both families sneered in disgust at what was going on on screen as they watched Ernesto smirked. Héctor was trying to bite his tongue to keep from getting mad at what he was doing onscreen with his wife.
Imelda rolled her eyes at the carbron that was smirking all the way in the corner even the guard was disturbed.
Imelda then kissed Héctor's check lightly and smiled.
"He really knows how to make me angry ". Héctor gritted his teeth
"Si but he know you doesn't like I do". Imelda smiled
Héctor smiled at that relief knowing that before anything else Imelda was his one and only.
"You're right Besides he knew better then to mess with you". Héctor smiled cheekily
"That he does my love that he does". Imelda whispered
Then Ernesto grabbed her and tried pulling her in but she somehow slipped through and crouch down low so she could get to her husband and her grandson with the photo but that wasn't to last. As Ernesto lifted her over his head and directed her towards the other side of the stage so that she wouldn't get towards Miguel and Héctor .
Imelda tried to get out of Ernesto's grip as she was being put down but it was impossible.
Mamá Imelda: "Let go of me!!" She demands
But Ernesto ignored her and continued to sing for the audience
Ernesto (singing):
"Y aunque la vida me cueste llorona".
Ernesto Continued to sing to appease the audience meanwhile Imelda looked worried that she was not gonna make it, Then Imelda was put down and spun around by Ernesto in an out several times at one point even making Imelda touch his chest bone .
Imelda felt disgusted and Héctor just felt more rage towards this man. He touched Imelda in a very disgusting way even though it was clear she didn't want it and she had to do it for La famila , for her Héctor.
"Keep your filthy disgusting hands off of my wife". Héctor shouted both to the onscreen and offscreen Ernesto
Imelda smiled as she had never seen this side of Héctor very often, she would never admit it out loud but she loved when he was so protective over her.
Mirabel looked towards Miguel who looked with a sudden protective look switched on.
"If someone did that to you I would do the same". Miguel whispered
"Oh?" She blushed
"You are acting ridiculous ". She sighed
"Well I would". Miguel smiled
"And somehow I would thank you for it Mi Musico ". Mirabel chuckled
"But then again I am not some damsel in distress nor a china doll". She stated
"Oh I know that, I am just saying whenever you need me or want me I'm here". He smiled
"You know that fire is what I admire about you the most". He added
"Ay". Mirabel laughed
"What it's true". He cuddles her close
Ernesto then continued to spin Imelda so that she wouldn't get away Imelda was getting very angry and annoyed.
Imelda was there spun into Ernesto On purpose as he snatched the photo from her hands and a tight grip on her so she wouldn't escape still singing and the audience loved it and was still oblivious to what was going on around them or at all too captivated by his singing.
"Ahh this ending Well is it?" Abel asked
"No Mijo not quite, he knows not to mess with me". Imelda smirked
"I hate you". Ernesto sneered
"Haven't you always, haven't you always ". She shook her head
Both families smirked and burst out into laughter at the comment that was just made and Héctor seemed to love his Imelda even more when she made quick witted comments like that.
"Her wit is just as deadly as her aggression ". Layla smiled
"Why thank you Señorita ". Imelda smiled
Imelda had to think of someway to get out of his grip so she quickly turned to Ernesto and looked down at his feet and had an idea.
Ernesto (singing finished):
" No dejaré de quererte

Then with hard stomp on his foot she quickly Took the photo out of his hand and bolted for the side of the stage that her husband and her grandson were on along with her granddaughters meanwhile Ernesto as holding his foot in pain and just was being stomped on.
The audience oblivious to what was actually going on clapped loudly and enjoyed the performance that just happened.
"That was amazing ". Carmen said
"She's right I've never even seen…" Berto added
"Never in a million years would I ever have thought that would've happened ". Elena sighed
"I think you've left them speechless Mamá Imelda ". Miguel smiled
"Si I'd agree you didn't tell us you could sing so beautifully ". Socorro added
"Not to mention the fact you stomped on Ernesto's foot to win the fight". Abel said
Imelda smiled and blushed the compliments.
"Who'd of thought after all these years the two lovebirds would sing Again ". Oscar sighed
"Same here hermano ". Felipe finished
Imelda smiled as she looked happy Héctor felt the same holding her hand and she rested her head on his shoulder.
Meanwhile Héctor had just finished putting the guitar that he borrowed back on the stand when Imelda came running in and luckily just in time caught her in his arms Héctor looked at her in surprise as she spun around in his arms as he slowly put her down.
Mamá Imelda: " I forgot what that felt like". She laughed as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear hole.
Héctor: "You still got it". Hèctor rubbed his arm nervously
Imelda had a loving look in her eyes as did Héctor and they stared at each other for a couple of seconds just lovingly and dreamily.
"For the love of god tell him you forgive him!!" Oscar shouted at the screen
"I'm usually not with Tio on this but please just make up you've put yourselves through enough torture". Victoria said
Rosita smiled and she Where this was headed.
"You have to let it run its course, Besides look where they are now". Julio said
Meanwhile the couple shook their heads at the antics and the comments. Imelda looked at her Héctor with a smile so bright that it made him happy as he kissed her cheek and she blushed.
"You still have to get Miguel home Remember?" Abel reminded
"Way to ruin the moment Abel". Rosa sighed
The gaze lasted for a few more seconds before they were brought back to reality by Miguel coughing to interrupt them from the gaze as he needed to get home. Imelda then realised and then handed him the photo.
Mamá Imelda : "Oh".
She then held out the petal and started to give him the blessing.
"Oh my baby is going home". Luisa sighed
"Thank god". Franco sighed
Mamá Imelda: " Miguel I give you my blessing to go home to put up our Photos and to…" she stopped
Miguel: " Never play music again". He looked sad as he thought about it
Mamá Imelda: " And to never forget how much your family loves you".
Héctor stepped up as he put a hand on Imelda's shoulder and smiled down at Miguel as his way of saying goodbye.
Héctor: " You're going home". He smiled
"Finally take the petal will you". Enrique sighed
"It's okay, I did end up taking it I'm still here aren't I?" Miguel said
"Yes but if you ever do this Again…" Luisa stopped
"I know Mamá ". He nodded
Mirabel held his hand anxious at what was going to happen she had a feeling something was very wrong.
"Why do I feel like something is off". She shivers
"What is it hermana?" Socorro asked
"Mi vida you're shaking are you alright?" Miguel asked
Miguel held his love close in his arms and put a blanket over her to keep her warm and safe .
"Mira?" Her mother asked
"I don't feel so good". Mirabel replies
" It's a six sense Kicking in it means she sensing what's going to happen next that's why she's feeling not so well, her angel half is sensing it when she feels something else , she feels sick in the stomach and cold so keep a blanket on her". Layla explains
"How long does it last?" Miguel asked
" Not long actually as soon as the scene is over it turns back to normal she should be fine". Layla smiled
"Why is it happening now why didn't work before". Socorro coaxed
" Because love her angel powers weren't as developed keep in mind she had to suppress it without realising it when you suppress something it all comes back to you but in small bits and pieces. The further she suppresses something the harder it gets to control it Including any painful memories". Casita adds
"That makes sense ". Camilo nods
Miguel looked at both his grandparents and smiled as The petal glowed brighter and was about to take it and head home when someone snatched him by the Hoodie.
Ernesto: "You're not going anywhere!!"
Imelda lunges forward and tried to grab Miguel from Ernesto's grasp, but Ernesto was quick to push her away landing on the hard ground as Héctor rushes to her side.
Héctor: "Imelda!!"
Ernesto then dragged Miguel across the floor by the hoodie while Miguel was scared and his family was trying to help him, even Dante grabbed his leg and tried pulling him back to safety by the pant leg.
Ernesto: "Stay back , stay back!!"
He then threw Miguel to ground taking his jumper of Of him and throwing it to the ground, Meanwhile Héctor was trying to stop when he was taken over by a golden flash of light and tumbling to the ground Imelda and the rest rushed to his side.
Héctor: "Ernesto Stop, leave the boy alone".
"No please not Mi hermano ". Socorro cried
Both families cried out to the onscreen boy, they didn't seem to notice that the real Miguel was still here and alive and well.
"I'm here Estoy bien". Miguel smiled
Imelda went her to grandson hugging him so tightly making sure not to let go , Héctor soon followed hugging him and pressed kisses to his forehead.
"Oh thank god". Luisa cried
"We thought we lost you". Rosa sighed
Miguel smiled and hugged his family tightly relived he was not near any heights just the thought of it made him shiver.
"I'm not going anywhere trust me". Miguel sighed
Socorro cried into her brother's chest afraid if she let go she was going to loose him forever.
"P-P-Please don't go I love you so much ". She cried
The sight Miguel saw just broke his heart completely and he held her tightly in his arms as she calmed down.
"Awww Hermanita sssh it's okay I'm here I'm not leaving I promise you Okay ". He reassures her
"Promise?" She asked
He nodded and smiled
"Would this face ever lie to you Chiquita?" He pointed to himself to lighten the mood
"No, but he would keep secrets depending on what it is". She smiled
"There's the smile". He chuckled
Dolores held Mirabel in her arms as she watched Isabela cuddles her close as well.
"He's Fine He's not going anywhere ". Isabela smiled
"I know that it's just hard to think right". Mirabel sighed
"I know Mija ". Juileta replies
Miguel then went over to Ernesto and he just smirked at Miguel, but he was burning with rage.
" You, how dare you make my family suffer you threw me off a building made me afraid of heights and made my little sister worry that her brother had just died thanks to you, not only that you made my love and her family suffer but you also so lucky I have saved your soul right now because if it was up to me I'd send you straight to the land of the forgotten no one would remember your name. But I will let you off the hook but if you step anywhere near my family and myself god forbid I will see you down to the land of the forgotten myself are we clear?" Miguel pointed to him
Ernesto quickly nodded afraid of the young man.
Miguel walked away and sighed of relief.
"Mijo That was… where did that come from?" Héctor asked
"Buried down deep like Mirabel said". Miguel smiled
He went straight to Mirabel and hugged her tight telling her that he was not going anywhere, she hugged him back just as tight.
"You'll never loose me". Miguel reassures
"I know I was just afraid that if I did I don't know what I'd do". Mirabel replies
He kissed her passionately and smiled.
"That enough proof". He asked
Mirabel smiled and chuckled lightly.
"I don't know unless I have another taste". She smirked
"You are sly and drive a hard bargain Miss Madrigal ". Miguel smiled as he whispered softly in her ear
"Well Señor Rivera That's the point, So will you?" Mirabel asked
"I can't say no to you can I?" He laughed
"Not even if you try". She tapped his nose
"Playing games now are we Amor?" Miguel kissed her passionately
They held hands and walked back to the seats, Mirabel smiled knowing she was not going to loose him and that he was safe.
Ernesto: " I've worked too hard Héctor too hard to let him destroy everything ".
Victoria then nods to Rosita as she turns the camera on so that pepole can see as Victoria pushes the sound button, Meanwhile the the stage screens change as the audience watches this whole fiasco play out.
Héctor: "He's a living child Ernesto ".
Ernesto then turns to Héctor his true colours are showing anger painted on his face.
Ernesto: "He's a threat you think I would let him go back to the land of the living with your photo to keep your memory alive no!"
Just then Miguel spoke up out of nowhere and told Ernesto straight to his face.
Miguel: "You're a coward, Héctor's the real musician you're just the guy who murdered him and stole his songs". He stood up
"You tell him Primo ". Abel shots
"Take that you filthy Carbron ". Rosa Agreed
Héctor smiled at Miguel and he smiled back as if to say 'you don't need to thank me' and Héctor nodded.
"You are a bastard". Manny yelled at the screen
"Manny!" Carmen scolds
"What Mamá he deserves it". Manny answers
"I know but we still don't use that type of language ". Berto Agreed with his wife
Elena was secretly smiling at what was happening on screen that man getting all that he deserves.
Meanwhile the audience was still watching and couldn't believe what they were hearing the true man behind the songs was murded but how could that be?
Man : "Murdered?"
Ernesto Meanwhile then grabbed Miguel by the shirt and brought him close to him.
"I am the one who's willing to whatever it takes to seize my moment whatever it takes".
He then threw Miguel off the side of the building and watched as he fell grinning evilly.
Héctor : "No!" Héctor reached out a hand but couldn't move because he was to weak.
Meanwhile the audience gasped as they just witnessed Ernesto throw a living boy off of a 2 foot high building.
The rest of the family rushed over to the side of the building watching as Miguel fell knowing they couldn't do anything about it they let out cries of his name but it wasn't working.
Mamá Imelda: "Miguel!"
Tio Oscar: "Miguel!"
Tia Victoria:" Miguel!"
Ernesto: " Apologies old friend but the show must go on". He walked away and kicked Héctor's hat to the side not caring one bit.
Luisa was fuming mad at what she had just witnessed her Mama bear instincts just kicked in. She went straight towards Ernesto and slapped his chiselled jaw with her boot, Meanwhile the rest were hugging Miguel tightly afraid if they let go they might lose him.
"I want to do so much more damage to you but I think jail is long enough how dare you hurt my baby boy". Luisa gritted her teeth as she cried
"Alright Mi Amor he's here it's okay". Enrique guided her back to her seat but not before glaring at Ernesto even the guard shook his head in disappointment.
Luisa went hugged her son tight and pressed kisses to him gently and smiling and letting out tears of joy happy he was okay and safe, Miguel sighed and embraced the hug deeply.
"My baby". Luisa cried
"It's okay Mamá I'm here Ssh I'm Alright ". He reassures
Enrique and Socorro joined in the hug too and smiled happy he was safe.
"Please don't leave". Socorro called
"I won't I promise ". Miguel smiled
Soon both families were giving massive hugs and kisses.
"You gave me quite the scare Chamaco don't ever do that again". Héctor hugged his grandson
"Si, Miguelito please don't". Coco called
"It won't happen ever again I promise". He sighed
"Good". Imelda prepped kisses all over his face
"We don't know what we do if we lost you". Carmen breathed
Meanwhile Mirabel was feeling sick she couldn't stand she felt like She about to faint, Bruno could see this and sat her down gently.
"You're not feeling right actually come to think of it you're burning up Mariposa ". Bruno put a hand to her forehead
"Julie". Bruno called
"Yes ". She hummed
"Mira's burning up". Bruno took his sister's hand gently and led her to Mirabel
"Oh baby come here". Juileta cooed
Antonio, Isabela, Camilo, Dolores and Luisa all looked concerned and worried .
"Is Mirabel Alright?" Isabela asked
"I don't know". Juileta sighed
Mirabel winced her head felt like it was of fire and she screamed in agony.
Both families looked concerned and worried at the young girl and wondered what was going on.
"What hurts Mi vida?" Pepa asked
"My head". She winced
"Oh No No No No No not yet please Not yet". Layla rambled
"What, what's happening, Miss Layla please tell us". Julio said
" She had way too much stress level and it got higher and higher causing pain in her head and mentally keeping it as a negative memory causing her to never forget it". Layla explains
"Meaning?" Miguel pushed
"Meaning, with her half angel side she has a lot more stress levels then normal people meaning whenever she has a negative feeling or memory she can't help but feel pain her head will start hurting her wrist will start twitching and she'll be tempted to Erase her memories". Casita finished
"Wait what no no no no no no no she promised she wouldn't do it again". Rosa looked worried
"Just keep telling her to breathe and it will go". Casita reminded
Miguel held her hand and looked into her eyes and smiled.
"Hey, Hey I'm right here nothing's gonna hurt you I'm right here ". Miguel smiled
She kept shaking her head it wasn't working, Miguel knew he had to try a different way Isabela gave her lavender but even that didn't help ethier .
"What are you doing?" Rosa asked Miguel
"Seeing if we have any camomile it helps calm her". Miguel answers
"Wow you really know everything about her". Camilo breathed
He noticed there was tea on the table so he slowly grabbed the cup and handed it to her and she slowly took a sip and he smiled relived she was okay.
"Better?" Miguel whispered
She nodded and smiled.
She continued to Sip the tea and take In the smell of citrus and camomile that brought her back.
"That was quick thinking Mijo how did you know?" Franco asked
"She told me it is her favourite, it helps calm her down and get better ". He smiled
"You remembered". She smiled
"Of course I do". Miguel sighed
Juileta was surprised as was everyone else that he was able to remember such a simple thing and look out for her as they sat back in their seats.
Dante tried to catch Miguel and luckily he did but only for a few seconds as Dante couldn't hold on much longer and let go, Miguel screaming for his life whist also accidentally losing the photo in his hand leading drift away in the wind .
Miguel: "AAHHH!!"
Mirabel held Miguel's hand tightly and cuddled close into him, Socorro joined up and was on the other side and soon both families cuddled up with Miguel as they watched.
"Someone catch him please". Juileta prayed
At this point the whole family was praying that someone would catch the boy and he would be okay. Even as Miguel watched he felt sick to the stomach, he was glad he was okay and safe.
Miguel's shirt ripped as Dante accidentally let go as he called for the boy worried he was going to hit the ground, Miguel at this point was almost about to hit the ground when Pepita came in i just in time and caught him before he hit the ground.
Miguel was safe as he held on tight to Pepita as she called to his family telling them she was was headed back up and she was okay and that Miguel was safe; Meanwhile Miguel looked back and reached out a hand to try and stop the photo from falling into the water but it was too late as the photo had already hit the water and sunk.
Both families let out a breath they didn't know they had been holding and sighed as they hugged Miguel glad he was safe.
"Oh thank the lord". Pepa sighed
"Thanks girl I don't know what I'd do without you". Miguel looked towards Pepita
Pepita cuddled up close to him and meowed as a 'You're welcome '
Socorro scratches behind her ear and chuckled.
"She says you're welcome ". Antonio translates
Pepita then earned pats from Mirabel and Antonio and she purrs.
"I think she appreciates it" Mirabel chuckled
"You're definitely getting extra tuna when we get back home". Héctor smiled
"I think she most definitely earned it". Abel said
"Ernesto 's reputation is about to get ruined for the rest of his afterlife". Layla sighed
Ernesto then combed back his hair with hand and took a deep breath and pretended like nothing happened and then he opened the curtains and stepped out and clapped.
Ernesto: " Ha ha". He clapped
The audience started booing him and telling him to get off the stage and he was confused so he tried the orchestra to play.
Ernesto: " Orchestra A one a two ". He gestured
The conductor and the band were looking at him with anger and annoyance as the conductor snapped his baton showing he was so done.
Man: "Turn around ". He shouted
Another woman shouted through the audience.
Woman: " Get off the stage!!" She joined
"Take that you pandejo ". Victoria yells
Elena smiled as did the rest at What was happening on screen, Héctor grinned at the sight of what his ex-best friend was getting on screen.
"Yeah go on go no messes with the Riveras!!" Benny and Manny shouted to the screen
Imelda smiled and laughed at the sight that was going on and she couldn't be happier as she watched, Socorro had one idea.
She went over to the table and grabbed the pie that was sitting and smirked at him and Ernesto looked scared at what she was going to do.
"Mija What are you doing?" Héctor asked smiling
"Something he deserves ". Socorro smiled back
"This is for my family ". She declared
She then threw the cream pie in his face and smothered it in his face causing a giant mess, Miguel burst out into laughter along with Mirabel and smiled.
Ernesto growled not happy being covered in pie the guard tried not to smile but it was impossible.
She smothered it into his face and smiled
"That was for my brother and Papá Héctor!!" She smiled
Héctor and Imelda laughed softly and smiled as Socorro chuckled and wiped her hands.
"You little-" He gritted
"What was that?" Mirabel asked and Ernesto shrunk down in his seat
Mirabel high fived Socorro and she laughed.
"Nice aim Prima ". Abel said
She chuckled and smiled in thanks.
Miguel smiled and lifted her up in his arms and she chuckled.
"You've got quite the fire and aim Chiquita ". He smiled
"Well where do you think I get it from". She chuckled lightly
"Definitely from me Mija as well as Mamá Imelda ". Elena smiled along with Imelda
Ernesto was confused at what was going on and then at one last attempt he started to sing 'remember me'.
Ernesto (singing):
" Remember me though I have to say goodbye-"
Héctor was fuming and went straight up to Ernesto and looked him straight in the eyes Ernesto was terrified he'd never seen him this angry before.
"Get my daughters lullaby out of your stupid bombarding mouth before I kick you right where the sun don't shine". Héctor growled
"Right there with you Amigo ". Bruno joined eyes glowing Green
Both families just stood back as they didn't want to interfere with whatever they were doing it was terrifying and amazing at the same time, Coco and Imelda were left speechless as they watched the scene. Juileta and Pepa along with Alma and Pedro and the kids didn't expect that to come out as they gave Ernesto one last deadly look before heading back to their seats
"I don't know what that was but I am terrified ". Layla shivers
"Same here". Casita joins
"Where did that come from?" Camilo asked
"Some where down deep Mijo ". Bruno answers
"You don't want to know". Héctor finishes
Just then the audience started throwing food and offerings they had got from thier families straight at the murderer including a tomato that landed on his jacket causing a big stain, Ernesto tried to dodge every attack he could but it was impossible.
A lady from the audience then shouted for all of the audience to look up at the screen.
Woman : "Look". She pointed to the screen
The Backstage screens showed that Miguel had been rescued and that he was okay as his family hug him tightly as Pepita landed. Then Ernesto realised what he had done looking at the backstage screens and then looking towards them one last time before Pepita looked directly at the screen very mad and ready to hunt down Ernesto.
She then roared in Ernesto's face before picking him up by the pants and flying over the audience, Meanwhile said audience was laughing at Ernesto getting exactly what he deserves. The camera man then followed so they could all watch smiling behind the camera.
Ernesto: "No please I beg of you stop, stop!!" He screams
Ernesto sneered as he watched but the Riveras and the Madrigals were lost at laughter watching the scene unfold, Pepita and Dante along with Lily growled and chitters causing Ernesto to shrink in his seat.
"Looks like you became Pepita's personal cat toy". Socorro chuckled in fits of laughter
"Si, like a ball of yarn". Manny laughed
Bruno smiled at the screen Ernesto frowned at him.
"Hey, I may So the future but even I didn't see that coming ". Bruno smiled
"Ay Mijo ". Pedro sighed
"Never change hermano ". Juileta sighed chucking
The spotlight then followed Ernesto and Pepita as she tossed Ernesto up into the air and then hit him hard with her tail straight towards the bell, As Ernesto screamed as he hit the bell and got thrown to the ground by the force it had and then soon knocking the bell on top of him crushing him and trapping him inside.
"Take that you puto!!" Mirabel screamed at the screen
"Mirabel come on". Pedro sighed
"Oh lay off it don't tell me you weren't thinking the same thing, i just happened to say it". Mirabel winked
"Alright you can have this one Mija ". Augustin smiled
Elena smiled and hugged Mirabel and whispered to her.
"I was thinking the same thing to Mija he gets all that's coming to him". She smiled at the girl
Mirabel chuckled and laughed softly.
"She s just as much of a spit fire as you". Miguel smiled towards Pepa
"You got that right Mijo ". Pepa chuckled
Imelda and Héctor smiled at what just happened onscreen happy that man wouldn't interfere with their lives ( or in this case afterlives) anymore. The kids all smiled at the revenge that Ernesto had gotten.
"What can I say revenge is a dish best served cold". Layla sighed
"Exactly ". Casita smiled
The audience cheering at the revenge he got as they watched the screens clapping and cheering. Meanwhile a skeleton man comes back with two corn sticks and was very confused about what was going on.
Skeleton man : "What did I miss?" He sat next to the lady
"A lot". Miguel sighed at the onscreen skeleton
"Maybe too much to process at the moment ". Rosa winced
Meanwhile Miguel was safe and okay as he pat Dante in thanks for trying to rescue him.
Miguel: "Good boy Dante".
Mamá Imelda : "Miguel ".
She hugged Miguel glad he was safe and sound Héctor smiled and tried to make it over to Miguel but it was impossible a golden shimmer took over him as he fell even harder to the floor taken over by the power of being close to the final death.
Miguel gasped and rushed over to Héctor and knelt by his side worried and scared as Imelda was held by her brothers sad and shocked it was happening so fast as was the rest of the family.
Miguel: "Héctor the photo I lost it". He cried
Héctor tried to stand and reassure Miguel it was okay.
Héctor:"It's okay Mijo it's ok-" He fell to the ground hard as he felt like he couldn't move
Coco and Imelda gasp at what was happening onscreen they couldn't help but think it was their faults, Both of the families couldn't bear to look at was happening.
"Estas bien I'm here it's okay". Héctor comforts is wife and daughter while they are holding him tight afraid to let him go
"No". Mirabel gasped as she put a hand over her mouth Socorro was hugging her as she couldn't handle the sight
Miguel sighed and shivered at the memory at almost loosing his Papá Héctor, Bruno saddens at watching his Amigo start fading away slowly.
Pedro held his daughters as they cried Alma was stunned speechless and the rest didn't even make a sound as silent tears fell down their cheeks, at this point they had moved seats and huddled up against each other afraid to let go.
Miguel slowly turned Héctor over and was worried tears streaming down his face and his small frame almost completing the skeletal transformation.
Coco was crying and being held by her husband and father reassuring her, Miguel let silent tears fall down his face as Mirabel and Socorro hugged him tight.
Pepa had a cloud over her head and was soaking wet as Felix hugged her along with Bruno; Juileta looked like she was a waterfall of emotions with Alma holding her tight and Augustin holding Dolores and Camilo.
Antonio was cuddled into Carmen as were the twins. No tears were not shed as they watched, Layla looked sad as did Casita as they held each tight and shedding tears.
"This is all my fault ". Elena whispered through the tears
"No Mi Amor it's not, We did this together we are all at fault ". Franco said
"How is that supposed to make it better?" Victoria sighed through tears
Imelda had slipped off to the quiet room to think (but mostly to cry) thinking that this was all her fault. That she had done this to him all because of anger and hurt, all he ever wanted was to come back home she'd felt guilty for letting this happen.
She could hear Héctor's footsteps sos he quickly wiped her tears and straightened up trying to show no weakness but he could see right through her.
He didn't say anything though and just sat down next to his wife and opened up his arms knowing she needed a hug, Imelda gladly took it and cried into his chest not wanting to ever let go again.
"This is my fault". She mumbled into his chest and sighed
"No, No No it's not and you know it isn't Remember what we said about apologising to ourselves small steps but we can do it". Héctor held her tightly
"But-" she stopped when Héctor put a finger up
"Ah, Ah no Mi Amor I know it's not easy but we'll get though this". Héctor replies
"Besides there is no way I'm going anywhere I'm here I'm okay". He added
"You think this works itself?" Héctor gestured to himself
She laughed and sighed Héctor then planted a deep kiss on her lips and she returned it when they pulled apart they both smiled.
"How do I deserve you?" She whispered
"To be honest Melda I have no idea". He chuckled
They laughed as they came back out and Coco hugged them both glad they were okay.
"Are we Okay?" Casita asked
They nodded.
Héctor went over to Miguel and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you for keeping your promise Mijo really ". Héctor thanked
"Hey, I wasn't gonna let you be forgotten that easily I'm just glad you're okay". He returned the hug
Miguel: "No she can't forget you". He cried the sun starting to turn his face skeleton
Héctor breathed as he looked at Miguel along with Imelda holding his hand and holding the petal to".
Héctor: "You have our blessing Miguel ". He breathed on last breath as Imelda looked at him
Mamá Imelda: "No conditions". She slowly drifted the petal towards Miguel
Miguel was trying to keep his Papá Héctor awake by shaking him. Meanwhile the rest of the family watch with sadness at what was happening, Victoria on her Papá's shoulder Rosita holding her arm as the twins had taken their hats off in respect for their long- lost brother in law knowing there was no way they could possibly bring him back after this.
Miguel : "No Papá Héctor please". He shook him
At this point Miguel was begging for him to stay Imelda was inching the petal closer to Miguel.
Miguel: "I promise I won't let Coco forget you!"
The petal had touched Miguel and he let out a scream and then disappeared in a bunch of marigold petals…
